Speaker 3 (02:15):
Welcome Lara, Thank you so much. Linda. I'm just delighted
to be here.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
Well, I got to tell you even just reading that phrase,
tune into the magic. That's how I live my life, right.
I believe there's magic all around us. So I'm curious
because we have a lot we can dive into. Let
me feel into how I want to lead this. I
think it's I want to lead it with what led

(02:42):
you to create the Thirteen Sacred Nights deck, but also
the teachings that go along with it. Was it something
personal to you?

Speaker 3 (02:55):
Yeah, well, I actually, you know, I learned the practice
of the Thirteen Sacred Nights the year my daughter was born,
and I, you know, I had this brand new baby,
and I was thinking about how I wanted to bring
more magic and meaning and ritual into our traditions, and
you know, come the first Christmas season and everything just

(03:19):
felt like such a frenzy, so superficial, so you know,
hollowed out and commercial, and it just there was that
magic that you're you're speaking of was really lacking, and
so this practice sort of arrived out of nowhere, and
I completely fell in love with it, and over the

(03:39):
years it really changed, of course the way I moved
through my winter season and the holidays. But honestly, also
I can say, after you know, more than two decades
of seeking and practicing, more than any other practice, it
legitimately changed the way that I moved through my daily

(03:59):
life life, and so just absolutely profound. And over the
years I would want to share it with all of
my friends and girlfriends, and they'd get really excited and
love the idea of it, but then you know, inevitably
they'd call me maybe halfway through the practice and say
did it start yet, you know, and I'd be like,
oh man, we're halfway through. And so one year my

(04:23):
childhood best friend said, you know, maybe could you just
make us all a calendar because we really want to
do this with you. It sounds absolutely amazing, but like
we can't quite figure it out. And so so that
was sort of the initial spark that then snowballed and
then led to the creation of the Oracle deck. And
here I am with this mission to now return the
soul to the solstice and the holy to our holidays.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
First off, I love that phrase, we return the soul
to the solstice. That really speaks to me because I
think for so many of us, we feel that at
the holidays, we feel that frenetic energy, this disconnection, and
I've been calling back how I want the holidays to be.

(05:08):
I have grandchildren now they've a little older, twenty five
and thirteen, but I remember feeling that, like this is it.
And so it's something else. You said, It's about intention,
isn't it. Yes, Yeah, it's about intention. And so you
talk about winter because for a lot of us, I think,

(05:29):
and I'll speak for myself, I struggled with winter for
the longest time because it's for me. Now I understand
it's my time to cocoon and go within, But because
I was disconnected from all of that in nature, I
would be like, why can't I push, Why can't I
get this done? Because I was going against how we're created.

(05:50):
Can you speak to that a little bit about winter
and what that season means for you on an energetic
spiritual level.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
Yeah, absolutely so. I will say that I grew up
in California, California coast, Central Coast, and so I moved
to Colorado in my early twenties and that was where
I had my daughter and started a family, and the
winters were also really hard for me as well. And
you know, especially in the you know, later winter, when

(06:23):
it was like it's been cold and snowing for so long,
and my friends in California are you know, sending pictures
of you know, their gardens and beach days, and here
I am still buried in the snow, you know. And
so so if we look to what this practice helped
me do was orient to the gifts of winter right

(06:44):
as opposed to lamenting what we didn't have in that season,
and so if we look to what nature is doing,
what's happening. The trees have dropped their leaves, The animals
are slowing down or hibernating, you know, plants and grasses
have receded back into the earth, the seeds are deep
in the earth, and everything is conserving energy, and there's
this feeling of sort of drawing energy inward. And yet

(07:08):
especially during the holidays, we tend to find ourselves that
are most frantic, pushing, like you're talking about, right, And
so we're shopping compulsively. We're over indulging in sugar and alcohol,
which is taxing the body as opposed to conserving energy,
that cocooning that you're talking about. You know, we are
jam packed. Our calendars are December calendars are just a

(07:30):
mess for most folks. Is the busiest time of year,
which is really just the polar opposite of the true
magic that is available during the peak of winter. And
so what is that true magic? It is the radiant darkness. Right,
We're in what I call the womb of winter, or
you know, the field of infinite possibility, this radiant darkness

(07:53):
or the potent stillness.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
Right.

Speaker 3 (07:55):
And so for cultures that we're more in tune with
the seasons, largely because their lives really depended on it,
and more aware of, you know, our place in the cosmos.
This was a time when they befriended the darkness, right,
they aligned with it. It's an aligning with nature, and

(08:17):
there really is a potency in the peak of darkness
that is available to us if we're able to quiet
down and pay attention, right, and so it is the
most potent time to be planting our dream seeds. There's
that intention that you were speaking to, planting our dream
seeds in the fertile soil of the darkness, so that

(08:40):
they'll sprout in the spring, bloom into their full expansion.
In the summertime, we're living the dream that we planted
in the peak of winter, and then in the fall,
you know, we're enjoying the richness the fruits of our
labor before you know, maybe deciding what do we want
to keep, what do we want to throw on the
compost pile, a little bit of reflection before diving back

(09:00):
into the womb of winter for another cycle of seasons.
So this practice really gave me the awareness to align
with the gifts, specifically of the winter solstice season, But really,
honestly the whole cycle.

Speaker 2 (09:17):
I love that, and I love how you use the
giden and composting the seeds because it really resonates with me.
So as you incorporated this into your life, when you
have that moment of awareness about that holiday that just
lacked that connection, what is the difference that you found
started unfolding in your life, Like your connection was your

(09:40):
connection to nature and hance, Like, what would you say
some of the benefits of living this path have been
for you in others?

Speaker 3 (09:48):
Yeah, well, let me get into just a tiny bit
of the nuts and bolts of the practice so that
the answer that question will make more sense. But so
this practice kicks off on the solstice, the winter solstice,
which is the longest darkest night of the year, and
then we have three days to sort of prepare and
think about what we want to bring to the coming cycle.

(10:09):
And then we have thirteen days of the actual practice,
so thirteen days and nights, and each day or each
twenty four hour period during that thirteen day window corresponds
to a month in the coming year. So what we're
really doing is we're laying down a blueprint or a
foreshadowing or an imprint, like an energetic imprint or stamp

(10:33):
for the coming cycle of seasons. And there's two ways
that we do that. The first thing we do is receive.
So what does that look like? How do you receive
you know, guidance from source or spirit or God or
the angels or the quantum field, whoever or whatever that's
something greater is to you. How do you do that? Well,
you do that by simply getting present, right and paying attention,

(10:57):
witnessing what's happening all around you and within you, witnessing
things that might be unfolding in your environment externally, but
also thoughts and emotions that are happening internally. And during
this thirteen day window, we are journaling everything that we're
taking in. So it's as if as that first light

(11:20):
comes streaming back in after the winter solstice, the light
begins to stream back in and we're capturing like a
fractal pattern. We're capturing that first light, that first imprint,
and later on in the year, that's going to be
precious guidance for us as our adventures and challenges unfold
in our life. So that's the first thing, is the receive, right,

(11:43):
we're gathering all of this light and this guidance that's
streaming in. And then the second part, because it's always
co creation, is the intentional planting of our dream seeds.
And so the things that you're wanting for the new cycle,
you are actually doing during that thirteen day window of time.
So if you want to strengthen your meditation practice, or

(12:05):
dance more, or have a certain person in your life,
you know, make sure you reach out to them, or
if you want to do more cooking, you make sure
you do the things that you want to bring into
the coming cycle in that thirteen day window. And it really,
I mean, I just can't overemphasize how magical this practice is.

(12:25):
And the imprint that we co create during this time
just gets swept into your future just like it's writing
on a riptide of energy. And then as you're walking
through your year, you're witnessing and experiencing all this synchronicity unfold,
which is then strengthening your belief in the unseen world

(12:47):
of energy and spirit. So that's a little bit about
the nuts and bolts of the practice. Let me back
up to your question a bit, which is what has
it done for you? Numerous things. The first thing I
would say, is that because the practice is thirteen days long,

(13:08):
this is more than just your you know, ten minute
meditation in the morning or twenty minute or one hour,
or maybe if you're you know, really doing a much
deeper dive, maybe it's a two hour meditation. You know,
this is thirteen days of heightened awareness that you return
to year after year after year. And what that has

(13:32):
done for me is strengthen this muscle that allows me
to be connected to the mystery on a moment to
moment daily basis. So you know, you're learning to walk
through your entire life aware of the co creative conversation

(13:55):
that we are always taking part in, whether we recognize
it or not. So that has been honestly one of
the most profound gifts that over the years this practice
has given me.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
M Now, my friend, you're sharing those gifts with others. Hmmm,

Welcome back and listening to inspired conversations with me Today
is Lara J. Day, the author of the Thirteen Sacred
Nights Oracle, as well as many of the things. I
am loving this conversation and I love how you so
beautifully described the process but also the benefits. And don't

(17:08):
you love that now this beautiful gift of yours is
going out to the world so that so many other
women can experience what you've experienced. I think the world
needs this more than ever.

Speaker 3 (17:20):
My friend m Yeah, just gives me goosebumps. Hearing you
say that, I am. You know, it's it's such an
honor and a gift to be able to share this
incredibly magical, powerful, delightful, you know practice with the world.

Speaker 2 (17:36):
So one of the things that you talk about that
I have in my notes is this practice supports renewal
in clarity. So talk about that for a moment, because
I think so many of us we have so much
noise coming at as all times that I think we
lose that connection to the clarity, especially because with what

(17:59):
powers and what's not hours Yeah, well like like radio
and tenors, until we learn how to control our own energy.
So let's talk about that. How it supports renewal in clarity.

Speaker 3 (18:10):
Yeah, So I think the way it does that is
by helping us align with the seasons, right, and what
the season of darkness offers us is that moment to
reset and replenish and uh rest and get quiet and
think about reflect on the year gone by, think about

(18:34):
what we want how we want to reset for the
coming cycle of seasons. But it's not just a random
moment in time to you know, Oh, I'm gonna I'm
going to do an intention practice today. We are supported
by nature, We're supported by the darkness, and we really
are in again what I call the womb of winters,

(18:55):
so so that the elements are actually more than any
other time of year. They are supporting us in this process,
in this moment of rest and renewal, replenishment, you know,
pressing the reset button. It's it's all there in the field,
all around us. And so so I think that's what

(19:16):
makes this practice special.

Speaker 2 (19:20):
I love this, and I live in New England, so
we get the like I know, you get a lot
of snow in Colorado, but we get that deep docness
where it used to affect me when I was young,
right because I'm a summergal. Everyone knows I'm a summergal.
Give me the sunshine, Baffe. And so it took me
many years to learn how to live in alignment with nature, right,

(19:43):
instead of fighting against it or mourning the different seasons.
Does that make sense? I would be in mourning, which
made my journey through winter even harder. But now I
was able to rephrase it, like I wrote down what
you shared, womb of winter and its soul lines of
and I've began calling my winter seasons so that I
could shift my energy in mindset. I call it sacred cocooning,

(20:07):
and for me, that's how I look at it, like, ooh,
this is the time of year I get to just
be to go inward, and it's become such a sacred
process for me. So hearing you talk about the practice
of the actual Thirteen Sacred Nights oracle just really aligns
and speaks to me as a woman.

Speaker 3 (20:30):
Yeah, and I think it is such a metaphor.

Speaker 1 (20:32):
You know.

Speaker 3 (20:32):
I recently was speaking with a friend and he was
talking about how in his circle they were thinking that, oh,
spring is the beginning of the new year, you know,
and arguing that spring should be our new year rather
than during the peak of winter as it is now.
And his wife happened to be pregnant at the time,
and I said, well, let me ask you a question.

(20:54):
Your wife is pregnant, you know, but baby hasn't quite
sprouted yet, you know, has burst through into the into
the world. Do you feel that the new cycle has
already begun or you know, has has anything already changed
or or or is the new cycle only going to
begin once that child is born? And of course, in

(21:14):
that moment it made so much sense. But I think this,
this is the the cycle of the Divine Feminine that
we have become so detached from right and uh and
and these cultures, these ancient cultures, which is where the
thirteen Sacred Knights practice came from. You know, it's inspired

(21:35):
by by by these pagan ancient practices and and and mysteries,
and it's it is all about reawakening to the wisdom
of the divine Goddess, the divine feminine, which is is
nature right, the the cycle of of birth and bloom
and and decay is is the cycle of the Goddess.

(21:57):
So and interestingly on a tangent, and the number thirteen
is very important. You know, a lot of people ask
is this related to the twelve nights of Christmas? And actually,
if you go back far enough, in fact, in one
of my books on the Winter Solstice and all the
sacred traditions of this time, there's an example of that

(22:22):
song that we all know, the Partridge and the pear
Tree and the twelve nights of Christmas. And the author
points out this is certainly a very ancient rendition because
they mention a thirteenth night, so originally it would have
been thirteen nights to align with the thirteen moons. Of
the year, which is thirteen female fertility cycles. So again,

(22:44):
the number thirteen was originally associated with the goddess and
the divine feminine. You know, then enter the patriarchy and
the Catholic Church and the demonization of all things goddess
related and all goddess worship, and suddenly the number thirteen
becomes superstitious and associated with negativity and evil and you know,

(23:07):
bad luck. And we have buildings with no thirteenth floor,
and cities with no thirteenth avenue, and hotel chains with
no thirteenth room, and it really all goes back to
the destruction of goddess worship. So anyhow, it's an interesting tangent,

(23:27):
hence the number thirteen, the thirteen sacred nights.

Speaker 2 (23:31):
Yeah, and it's so funny because as I was a child,
I grew up programmed with that, oh my god, it's ready,
the thirteenth, don't do anything, And now I cherish it
because I see it from the new lens. Right. Yes,
but the world needs is more embracing of the feminine.
So I want to bring in the conversation before we

(23:53):
have about five minutes before we go to the next break.
But I'm really curious what neurogenic? Key goong instructor, Like,
I know what key goong is, but what is neurogenic?
I know about the drawing, but that's something different, I assume.
So talk to me because I'm really curious.

Speaker 3 (24:11):
Yeah, So neurogenic simply means related to or of the
nervous system, Okay, And I essentially what I did was
mash up to modalities that really helped me in my
own journey, and one of them was medical chigong or
chigong healing, and uh that you know, it looks like

(24:32):
working with the meridian lines and all the point systems
along the meridian lines and the wood fire, earth, metal
water system of Chinese medicine. And the neurogenic piece I
added later when I studied with an organization called tr
or tension and trauma releasing exercises. And if you can

(24:53):
think of the way that an animal shakes when it's
scared or omer stimulated, that's what a neurogenic tremor is.
And in fact, that neurogenic tremor is innate to all mammals.
We humans, however, have been socially conditioned to shut it down,
hold it in, get ourselves together.

Speaker 2 (25:12):
You know.

Speaker 3 (25:12):
And so Essentially, what I do is help people stimulate
or turn on that tremor response, and once they are
tremoring and feeling safe in that process, then I weave
in the medical cheekong.

Speaker 2 (25:30):
That is powerful, my friend, And so is it? Would
it be considered nervous system regulation work?

Speaker 3 (25:37):
Absolutely? Yes? Yeah.

Speaker 2 (25:40):
As you were sharing it, I was like, and you know,
what's so funny. It's come into that phrase and has
come into my awareness so much more in the last
year because they feel like so many people have become
just regulated because of everything around them. So I think
that's such a sacred gift and offering because when we're

(26:01):
in it, when we're dysregulated, we're not at the highest
and best of who we are. And so what are
some of the benefits that you've seen in that work
with others?

Speaker 3 (26:12):
Oh gosh, so many benefits. I mean, from emotional release
to very often people have memories that will bubble to
the surface that either you know, things that not that
they were completely suppressed memories but they hadn't thought about
in a long time that will bubble to the surface
and release. So you know, often our emotions and our

(26:36):
stories are trapped in the tissues of our body right.
Often sometimes it is memories that are completely unavailable to
the conscious mind. But everything from you know, physical symptoms
dissipating or disappearing, to like I said, emotional patterns being relieved.

(26:59):
There's just so much much with the with the mashing
up of the two modalities, there's so much. It's a
really big experience. There's so much that happens because there's
this physical tension and trauma releasing process that stands alone
as its own practice as a reset to the nervous
system and allowing the tension to UH to release out

(27:20):
of out of the system, out of the body, to
this UH more energetic process with the chigung and UH
you know, all of the underlying patterns that are there
trapped in the field and or in the body or
both or have this opportunity to reset and release.

Speaker 2 (27:42):
I love this quock question for in case anyone's wondering
and before we go to our next break, do you
do offer this virtually or just in person?

Speaker 3 (27:51):
Yeah? I both. Yeah, I did work for years I
was mostly doing or was only doing, the the medical
cheegong piece, and that was how I worked with folks,
and so that is very easy to do remote and
I'm sure, as you know, you know, energy work can
be done remotely. There's there Time and space are not

(28:11):
an issue, and we're working with energy. And then when
I added the tremor release piece, I started working more
in person with people. But then, of course along came
the pandemic, and as we all got shoved onto or
forced on to zoom, I figured out very quickly that
it's quite possible to work with people over zoom. And

(28:35):
you know, I've been I like to say, I've been
guiding bodies through space for oh gosh, I don't even
know how many years, since I was fifteen years old
when I started teaching dance. So it wasn't too much
of a challenge to cue people, you know, Okay, put
your feet like this and then lift your hips like that,
and so I can very much guide people via zoom.

(28:57):
That said, I love to work with people in the
flesh in person. I miss genuine, you know, face to
face exchanges in all the parts of my life, you know,
not just in my professional life, and so I'm always
looking for ways to actually get in person with folks.
So I do offer a discount for anyone who's able

(29:18):
and willing to show up on the central coast of
California here to my studio space. And I do have
clients who will come for three days in a row
or even five days in a row for an intensive experience,
and that can be quite transformative.

Speaker 2 (29:34):

Speaker 2 (31:57):
You're listening to inspired conversations stinks for circling up with
us Today, I'm with Lara J. Day, author and creator
of the Thirteen Sacred Night's Oracle, and I want to
circle back to the thirteen Sacred Night's ritual. When you're
in the actual that window, you know that, I call

(32:20):
it the portal where you're guiding them through the thirteen days.
You said it's day and night. So this practices, if
I understand correctly, for the evening and the morning.

Speaker 3 (32:35):
Yeah, so it's really it's really thirteen twenty four hour periods.
So when I casually refer to, you know, the third
Holy Night or the fourth Holy Night, I'm actually referring
to a twenty four hour period from sundown through until
the following sundown. And all the details are in the

(32:56):
guidebook that goes along with the oracle decks, so you know, yeah,
it's all in there. The part that trips people up
just a tiny bit is that it is sundown to sundown.
So the first what I call Sacred Night would fall
at sundown on December twenty fourth and carry through until
sundown on December twenty fifth, And that first Sacred Night

(33:20):
is a reflection or a representation of the entire cycle
of seasons to come. The following sacred night falls at
sundown on December twenty fifth, carrying through to sundown on
December twenty sixth, that would be a reflection of January,
and then you know, so on the following the calendar
months would follow. So so, like I said, it is

(33:43):
this thirteen day window where for thirteen days and nights,
twenty four hours a day, you are learning to walk
awake in the dream with more awareness, with more presence,
with more you know, attention too. So this co creative
conversation that we are always having in our creative human

(34:06):
consciousness with the divine.

Speaker 2 (34:10):
Hm, it just sounds it sounds like a deeply personal
sacred going within like as you speak, and I can
just feel myself dropping into my body even more so
so does anyone ever like what some of the misconceptions
of questions that come up when practicing this sacred ritual?

Speaker 3 (34:34):
Yeah? I think one of the misconceptions is, you know,
if something bad happens during the sacred nights. I every
year I get phone calls or emails from folks who say, oh,
my goodness, this thing happened you know this terrible thing
happened during my thirteen days? Does that mean that you
know my next year is just going to be a disaster?

(34:56):
And of course the answer is no. And what I
tell folks is to hold it all lightly, don't strangle
the mystery. Don't assume that you know exactly what this
thing happening during the third Sacred Night is going to
mean for the corresponding month as it unfolds. Very often,

(35:19):
occasionally it can be very you know, laugh out loud,
goosebump inducing, how things just line up word for word,
But just as often it's much more metaphoric. You will
you will just be, you know, in in a shock
and laughter. In the way that things do correspond, it's

(35:41):
always in a way that you would least expect, right
and so or often in a way that you would
least expect. So so so it's important to remember that
the information gathered or given during this thirteen day window
is always meant to be helpful. This is a benevolent practice.

(36:03):
It's not a curse. It's never a curse. It's always
meant to be helpful, and that's important to remember. Another
question that often comes up is, you know, do I
do this practice alone or do I share it with others?
Or is it okay if I do it with others?
And as you mentioned, you know, it's this time of

(36:25):
you can feel yourself diving inward and going inward just
as we're discussing it. But so for me, yes, it's
typically been mostly an individual practice. And yet at the
same time, of course I shared it with my daughter
over the years. We would draw oracle cards together, you know,

(36:46):
and delight in reading the messages together and lighting candles together.
And so it's of course also something that will shift
the way that you move through this season with your family.
And then that said, I also spontaneously have had all
sorts of little Holy Knights or Sacred Nights groups or

(37:07):
pods that have popped up all over the country, and
folks writing in saying, yeah, we established this group, and
we have this Sacred Knights group, and we get together
and we draw our cards or whether it's on zoom
or in person, or we laugh and we talk about
the synchronicities that have unfolded. I have groups that get

(37:30):
together during the Thirteen Nights and then also get together
once a month throughout the rest of the year. So
you know, it could be both in either right, It's yes,
of course, it is a very individual, introspective practice. But
to the degree that you're wanting to share this with others,
I think it's a beautiful way to deepen friendships, deepen

(37:51):
the experience itself. As you probably know, Linda, when we
come together in numbers, you know, consciousness and magic are
amplified exponentially. So and along those lines, I do also
offer a guided experience that where I'm teaching meditations through
the thirteen days and then throughout the rest of the year,

(38:15):
coming back together to drop in at the beginning and
end of each month.

Speaker 2 (38:22):
I love this, and I think you may have already
answered the question I was going to ask. So, even
though it's called the thirteen Sacred Night's Oracle, you just
mentioned something about year round, so they can use these cards,
not just thrown that window.

Speaker 3 (38:36):
Yeah. So that's another question that comes up often, and
the answer is, of course right. Any any oracle deck
or any divining tool is just that it's a tool,
and so it's always a personal choice how an individual
wants to use that tool. I have many, many people
who have lots of oracle decks. They've got big collections

(38:56):
and they love to just tuck this deck aside and
save it as their thirteen Sacred Nights only oracle. And
then I've had so many other folks reach out to
me and you know, oh gosh, I love the deck
so much. Am I really only allowed to use it
during the sacred Nights? And of course the answer is no,
you could use it daily if you desired. And I

(39:17):
did add a new section in this new edition published
by Beyond Words, where I give some ideas of how
you might use the Oracle deck for other card draws
throughout the remainder of the year.

Speaker 2 (39:32):
It's beautiful and the imagery is stunning. Yeah, I peaked
at your website and I'm like, oh, the imagery just
really speaks to me, and I love of course many
of them, not all are aligned with nature, like I
see the bee in the bear, and I just want

(39:54):
to say, because I'm very visual, and the deck really
speaks to you, ladies, really just draws you in. Thank you,
You're welcome. So what are some of the other pieces.
If a woman is curious right now, but maybe this
is all new to her, how would you invite her

(40:15):
because we're in September. How would you invite her to
start opening up to just to be open to this
beautiful and via ritual.

Speaker 3 (40:28):
Yeah, well, I think that's part of the beauty of
the Thirteen Sacred Nights practice is that's it's just enough
structure to give you something to grab onto, and yet
at the same time, there's so much freedom within it.
So you know, if you just really wanted to make
it a much lighter, not such a deep, you know,

(40:48):
meditative dive, and you just wanted to playfully draw an
oracle card for each night, that would be enough. That
would be wonderful and magical, and you know, it's you
can make it your own. It's non denominational. I even
had one year somebody wrote me an email and it

(41:11):
was from a kid that I had gone to college with.
I said, kid, but we were kids when we went
to college, you know, years ago, and and he emailed
me and he's he's on my you know, through my
business account. It's not like we hadn't been connected since
since the dorms all those years ago. And he goes,
is this Laura day and he says, my wife brought

(41:31):
home this oracle deck and she wants to do this practice,
and you know, I can't believe. I looked at the back,
I saw your picture, and he says, you know, I
got to tell you the truth. I'm not really into
oracle decks and this whole thing. And I said, okay, listen,
you you don't You don't have to like it, I said,
but just try it. I promise you won't have an
allergic reaction. And if you don't like it, you know,

(41:54):
you don't have to do it. And so he goes, okay,
I'll kay, I'll try it. And he wrote me, you know,
after the Sacred Night's rover, and he said, actually that
was pretty cool. So you know, I think I think
you can make it your own. For some people, they
really want a cocoon, they really want to create a
real sacred deep dive for themselves during the season, and
that's available. I also like to point out that I

(42:16):
still participate in many of the traditional holiday activities. It's
not like an either or type scenario. My daughter still
loves the Christmas tree. And you know, we have this
beautiful ornament collection. Many of the ornaments are passed down
from my grandmother, and we remember the little stories of
you know how we acquired each one, and we still

(42:36):
go to our holiday family gathering, but I just walk
through that season in a different headspace, and it's as
if I'm walking around with a sacred little secret in
my pocket. I'm noticing, you know, the sparkle in people's eyes.
I'm noticing the stillness in the air. I'm noticing the

(42:58):
presence with a capital P that is infusing the space
all around me. But it doesn't mean that I've cold
turkey just said, oh, I can't celebrate Christmas anymore, you know.
So again, there's just so much room to make it
your own. If you did want to, you know, set
all those traditions aside and focus solely on this practice

(43:19):
in the winter solstice, that would be fine too, you know.
But it's very personal to personal to whoever the practitioner is.

Speaker 2 (43:31):
That's a beautiful addendum to add And we're going to
take a final break and come back for the last
ten minutes, and my friends, I want to invite you
to grab your deck of the Thirteen Sacred Nights Oracles

Speaker 2 (46:11):
Welcome back. You're listening to you inspired conversations. We've been
talking about the magic of deep winter and so much
more so, Lara, you have so much on your site.
I had fun on your website. You have these programs
that also bring people in to the energy of the seasons.

(46:33):
So let's talk about that for a moment, because you
have these beautiful programs spring and at the top it's
Chee Gong courses. There's seasonal Chi Gong courses. But like
just the imagery. I love that it's a journey inward.
And there's a quote you have at the top that
really spoke to me, and it's your quote and it says,
I believe that the more we align with nature, the

(46:55):
more we uncover and discover our own highest human potential.
And I was like, ooh, So I'm on the page
now and let them know what this is about, because
I think this is powerful, what it's about, why you
created it. In some of the benefits, we still have

(47:15):
about seven to eight minutes, so I would love for
you to introduce them to this because I just love
that it's seasonal.

Speaker 3 (47:23):
Yeah. So it's really interesting how this whole world of
the Thirteen Sacred Knights and the Chiegong work that I
do sort of blended together because of course with the
thirteen Sacred Nights practice. I'm diving into, you know, everything
that has to do with the peak of winter. But
I recognized that at a certain point, I recognize that,

(47:45):
of course the work that I do with chigong also
speaks to these seasonal patterns and rhythms. And so in
Chiekong we work with wood, fire, earth, metal, water, and
each of these five elements has a a table of
correspondences or things that correspond to that element, and of
course one of those things is the seasons. And so

(48:08):
what I've done is develop courses for each element, would fire, earth, metal, water.
The water course is the thirteen Sacred Nights course, which
I already spoke about, where we do this thirteen day dive.
There's a seated meditation and a chigong meditation for each
sacred night. And then we also get together once a

(48:29):
month throughout the remainder of the year to revisit our
journals and to talk about any synchronicities that may have unfolded,
and to continue exploring the chigung practices. And then wood
correlates to the season of spring, so I have a
spring course, fire to the season of summer. The summer
course actually I teach a practice, a chigung practice that

(48:53):
came to me in a dream many years ago that
is actually a combination of all of the philosophy of
chigong with manifestation work. So that's a really very fabulous course.
Would fire them. We've got earth. Earth has its own
special season, its harvest time. It's sort of Indian summer,

(49:15):
that late summer energy. That course is all about grounding
and then fall. I teach that's the metal course, wood
fire earth metal. Metal correlates to fall, and so I'm
teaching a practice known as the microcosmic orbit. And then
we're back at water. So wood fire with metal water.
The wood spring course is about detoxification and movement. So

(49:39):
all of the themes of the seasons are present in
that Chinese philosophy system of the elements, and it's really
a blending of the chigong and the focus on each
season and the gifts that are available in that seat.

Speaker 2 (50:01):
They're beautiful I'm reading through. I mean, like spring, it
tells you this course is for you, like how you're
feeling in your body if you're experiencing these symptoms. But
it's like you have videos on the chigong practices in
the spring, when you give the good Morning liveral love
drink recipe, I mean, this is you give everything guidelines

(50:25):
for ccadian health in a healthy light environment. You put
a lot of love and intention into each one of these,
and it just perfectly aligns with the work you do
in the world.

Speaker 3 (50:35):
Yeah, it was a delight to me when I finally
recognized how because they were sort of compartmentalized previously, where
I had my chie gun work and practice, and then
I had the Sacred Nights practice, and then I realized,
of course, oh no, these these absolutely come together. This
is all seasonal work, you know. And I've been studying

(50:55):
and seeking and practicing for well over two decades now,
and I you know, I had my own health journey
that began three months after my daughter was born, when
I tripped into some sort of chronic illness, which you know,
so I've got that wounded healer story that so many
of us do. And of course, in retrospect, we always

(51:17):
see the gems in the journey. And I wouldn't be
who I am today if I hadn't been through it.
So so so much of what I teach was really,
you know, hard won wisdom, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (51:30):
You know what I've discovered after ten years of doing
the show, in twenty years of owning Aspire, is most
of the women that are doing the magical work in
the world or soulful work, they went through their own fire.

Speaker 6 (51:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (51:46):
That's why they are the best guides and coaches and
healers because they've been there, They've come through that. So
thank you for sharing that, because that was part of
my journey too. I believe that everything led me, every
experience I had, led me to this moment so I

(52:06):
can do the work I'm doing in the world. So
when I look backwards, there's no more shame, self judgment,
self condemnation. It's like, ah, that's why I had that experience. Like,
I'm fully integrated now up to this point with those
past experiences. Of course, we're always being delivered new experiences
to integrate, but I see how they all played a

(52:31):
role in who I am.

Speaker 3 (52:32):
Today, right, And that's when the healing comes full circle
and its complete, right, and we can look back and
not wish it was any different, but really see the
perfection in the path. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (52:43):
Yeah, I mean. And so someone said to me probably
about ten years ago, I was doing a motivational talk
at a woman's shelter, and they said, so you're going
to say that you don't wish that all those experiences
from childhood trauma all the way up. It happened. So
I had a dry erase board behind me, which I

(53:04):
wasn't planning on using, but this came from spirit. But
I remember turning around and doing a curly haired stick
figure on the drawing board, and again this came through me,
and I said, okay, I was a high school droper.
I'll erase a part of who I am. Sexual trauma survivor,
put that down, domestic violence, high school dropout, run away.

(53:25):
I kept erasing parts, like all the things that they
thought I should want to erase from my past. And
then I turned around and said, if I erase all that,
then the woman you see today I want to be here.
And they got it on a soul level because these
were very these women had very deep wounded experiences and

(53:45):
you know, at that time had lost custody of their children,
some were just coming from incarceration, and they were getting
their lives together. And the tears that flowed, like I
thought I had to judge all the mistakes I made.
I said, no, got to accept and learn and integrate
them so they don't make all your decisions moving forward, right,

(54:06):
And that was a fun journey.

Speaker 3 (54:08):
So I found really beautiful.

Speaker 2 (54:11):
Yeah, and I tell everyone listen that I never even
noticed the drive erase board they have the whole talk,
that whole visual just came through me. Well, Lara, I
want to say thank you, thank you, my friend, for
