Tüm grafiklerde uygulanır. Piyasanın psikolojisini ölçer. Piyasanın hangi trendde olduğunu bulmak için kullanılan yöntemdir. Gözlem ve yoruma dayalı olduğundan dolayı çoğu yatırımcı kullanmaz.
Elliot toplamda 8 dalgadan oluşur. 8 dalgadan oluşan formasyona çevrim denir bu çevrim düz ve ters çevrim olarak ikiye ayrılır.
1-3-5- dalgası düz çevrimde yükselen trend dalgasıdır 2 ve 4 düzeltme dalgasıdır.
Elliot dalga teorisi piyasanın hangi trendde olduğunu gösterir. 2. ve 4. dalgalarda yatay trend görünür.
Elliotun dalgalarını belirledikten sonra iç dalgalar ile onay almak gerekir. Tam çevrim saydığınızda 5. dalga daha büyük dalganın 1. dalgasını oluşturur.
Elliotta iç dalgalar hesaplanırken karıştırmamak için işaretleme farklı yapılır. Bunun birçok modeli vardır. Roma rakamları ile işaretleme yaparak başlayabilirsiniz.
