Speaker 1 (00:33):
Hey, everybody, and welcome to kind of a new episode
of It'd be like that, as you can tell.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
One.
Speaker 1 (00:39):
We didn't go live this weekend to it's just me
for this little episode, and so there's not gonna be
a whole lot to talk about for this one. I
just wanted to put something out to make sure that
we did something today. I'm not going to get into
any long series of things, but you know, Patrick's just
kind of feeling out of it. I want to make
sure at least we got to pay and we're just
(01:01):
gonna kind of leave it at that for this one,
so relatively quick episode for it. I really don't have
anything major to talk about for this episode. The only
thing that I would say, so, we did go see
the Demon Slayer movie. I really enjoyed it. I know
Patrick really enjoyed it as well. I would give it
a four out of five. I think he's probably in
(01:22):
the same area. We did have a similar feeling of
the feel of the movie. In terms of the last
act of the movie, singing like it was a little
bit long. I don't want to put any words in
his mouth. Even though it was long, I still really
enjoyed it, right, and I feel like the movie at
(01:42):
some points could have been a full episode. But I
know that he's been loving the memes of the whole
Demon Castle of people falling just randomly into the demon
Castle with the noise, And if you haven't seen that,
you should check out a couple of those memes that
are out there. They are actually relatively funny. But it's
still it feels like to me, some things just get
like way overplayed. But that's always the case when it
(02:05):
comes to like these types of things, right, I mean,
it's just the way that things roll. Other than that,
I mean, things have just been kind of busy.
Speaker 2 (02:13):
There will be a weekend.
Speaker 1 (02:16):
I don't think that the podcast itself is going to
go into any weird hibernation or anything like that. Well,
it might be for the fourth There might be something
that Patrick puts out on his own, possibly for that weekend,
because I will be at Aftershock for that weekend, and
so if there's anything recorded, it might be something many
(02:36):
like this, So you might be getting like too many
ish episodes in a row if you're used to that,
or that might just be another weekend where we take
a break and then we come back.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
It's one of those two things. I don't know.
Speaker 1 (02:48):
I know that there's a lot of news going around,
and there's a lot of stuff that's happened. Some of
the stuff I'm just not going to get into because
I just do not feel like talking anything that's political
well right now, I just don't. I'm just at that
phase right now, you know, depending on how you believe
either life sucks or life's great, or you know, whatever
(03:12):
is going on, I really am just at the point
where and I think that's what's been affecting my mood
a lot lately, is just that I don't know what's
going to make a difference on anything. Whether you're however
you decide that you feel you are. I don't think
it matters, honestly, it's whatever, whatever it is, and I
(03:36):
just don't feel like getting into it. I know we
have disagreements here. I'm glad and very happy that the
two of us can move on from things. But as
it stands right now, some people are just it doesn't matter.
It doesn't matter what you say, what you do, it
doesn't matter how everything finishes. And that's what's fucked up
(03:56):
right now in my opinion personally.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
But that's it. That's all I'm going.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
To say for everything that's there, But nonetheless, we do
have football going on and so far in our little
league that we've got going for the fantasy football stuff,
you know. In terms of who's in the league, we
have Alex in the league, Cute Kitty's cute Kitty. She
has one hundred and thirty nine points. We've got mister
Al with one hundred and thirty seven, just two points
(04:21):
behind her. She has got a better score total, but
he's got a better record than she does, at least
for what it is. So if you guys have not
played in our league before, we do drop one week's
worth of points. So we're going to see how everything goes.
But as everything stands right now, that's how it goes.
We got Epic Rips in third place, one hundred and
(04:42):
thirty five, one hundred and thirty three For Rix Picks,
I'm at one twenty nine. Team Bring it Up is
at one twenty seven, and at one twenty two it's
Patrick down there. So and honestly, all of our records
are roughly the same. It always comes down to point spreads.
Because if you look like at Alex and I, we
both at fourteen and three. Josh has the best record,
(05:04):
mister l that's there at sixteen and one with his
week picks, and then you have everything else is kind
of all over the place. Our third place is fourteen
and three, fourth place is twelve and five, where Rick
missed the very first week, so I believe his drop
is always going to be zero. And then you have
a team bring it and Patrick both at thirteen and four.
So right now, at least for the first two weeks,
(05:25):
it's relatively close. And I feel so far that like
this season, you kind of know where people are, and
there are some dark horses, and you know a couple
of them. Is it going to How is the rest
of the season going to work for those people? And unfortunately,
I feel like that's my forty nine ers right because
(05:46):
of injuries right now, with people being out, how is
the rest of the season going to look? And it
also even goes for teams like Cincinnati that jer Burrow
is going to be out possibly up to six weeks
or more, and how how was they you know, that
team going to look for the rest of the season
and we really don't know how everything's going to go.
(06:08):
And he even you know, teams like the Raiders right
where they looked pretty damn good the first week, and
then last week they were just kind of okay, right,
Is it going to get better? Is it going to
get worse? You know, things have to settle down, I
think in that offense as well. I know Patrick is
in the mindset of Ginos, who we thought he was.
(06:29):
But who knows what's gonna happen. Maybe you'll have you know,
they're gonna put Geno down at some point the season
plays something else. It's the same thing in Minnesota with
mister l and Q Kitties Vikings. Right now, you know,
McCaffrey is gonna have to go through or McCarthy. I'm sorry,
I'm thinking of Christian McCaffrey so for some reason, but
(06:50):
McCarthy is gonna have to go through a lot, and
he's injured right now, and this is only week three,
and could injuries be a problem for them? Also could
playing in the big league be a problem for him?
Speaker 2 (07:04):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (07:05):
And it's funny because you know I did talk with
Patrick Milke. If he doesn't shape up by week three,
I could see the backup. But I know it was
Carson went Wentz at the time. I could see Carson
Wentz taking over this team at this point, especially if
they start dominating like they did under Sam Donald. And
I really think it's not because McCarthy is a bad player.
(07:29):
I think that he's just not attuning to the league
right now, and maybe he needs to sit a year,
another year as an active bench player and just learn
learn how to read the defenses, learn how to kit
get up to the speed. I don't know if it's there,
and that's what's ultimately gonna hurt the team because I
don't think their defense is that bad. I think they
(07:50):
lost some keep figures on their defense. I don't think
it's as bad, but that offense is suffering from unsurprisingly
Sam Donald not being there, somebody that was a journeyman
quarterback that came in and yeah, he you know, kind
of fumbled in the playoffs, but at the same time
during the year, he knew exactly.
Speaker 2 (08:09):
What was supposed to do.
Speaker 1 (08:10):
And he's kind of bringing that right now to the Seahawks,
and the Seahawks team that needs somebody on that side
that is able to step in with a brand new
system and kind of run it and take it over
and be solid with it. And he's kind of doing
it there, but we'll see. I mean, he played against
US didn't do very well, but against the Steelers, who
(08:33):
are kind of also, you know, a very solid team,
he did extremely well. I mean, they put up the
points needed, and his defense also came through. I think
Seattle's defense is definitely building to be something like they were.
Its matters whether or not They're offense is building to
that same caliber. And I don't know if it can
(08:56):
anytime soon. And I think the running game needs to
get better, is what it is. I can't believe I'm
talking you know, what could improve Seattle Seahawks because I
hate the fucking Seahawks. If there's any team out of
the entire league that I hate, it's the Seahawks. And
it's primarily because of their fans. And it's just like,
can't you just be normal and say you have to
act like you know, they call them the twelve not
(09:16):
because they're the twelfth man on the team. It's because
they're twelve years old. It's honestly what it is, like
they're some of the most fucking immture fans in fucking football.
You know, you might say that about other teams. Some
people around here with joke and say that it's the Raiders.
I don't believe that's Raider fans at all. But Seattle fans.
They're the fucking like most childish, fucking fans that you're
(09:37):
gonna meet like throughout the fucking league. But nonetheless, so
let's talk.
Speaker 2 (09:41):
About the games.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
One game's already gone by, which is Buffalo and Miami,
and Buffalo managed to in a way, squeak it by.
They won by ten, but the game was way closer
than it need to be. I was out seeing Coed
and Cambria while that was going on, so I didn't
know what the scores were, and I bet everybody in
our group was fucking shitting themselves. Actually, it was a
tie for most of that game, and then all of
(10:02):
a sudden, you go into you know, to it as
is patented, I'm gonna throw it right to you type
of throw, and that's what ultimately seals the game for Buffalo.
So you know, it's just what it is. So nonetheless,
that's the game that we had, and that puts everybody
in a win column. So far, we got Cleveland and
green Bay. In Cleveland, both of us are going with
(10:24):
green Bay. Green Bay looks like maybe they are going
to be the team to reckon with this year, and
you know, adding Micah Parsons to an already pretty good defense,
that's gonna definitely put you in the right direction. So
we'll see how things play out there and how everything
works in Green Bay. But right now, their offense is
(10:45):
kind of clicking and their defense is definitely clicking. And
even though Mikeah Parsons isn't up to speed on their defense,
he's definitely made an impact already on the field there.
So we'll have to see. But both of us went
Green Bay for this game. You got Indianapolis at Tennessee.
Both of us are going with Indy for this game,
and Indy is going to be the surprise pick. And
(11:06):
this may again be a case of it's not are
you really a bad quarterback or is it the system
that you're in. Maybe Daniel Jones has found the system
that is going to work for him and it's the
reason why he's the starter there. So we'll have to see. Again,
Indianapolis could be the dark horse of the league because
they haven't had a good offense, but they've had a
good defense, and maybe Daniel Jones coming in is that
(11:27):
fucking kickstart to get them going. But both of us
going Indy. This is our first divided pick for the week.
We got Cincinnati at Minnesota, and he is going with
the Bengals, But I'm going with the Vikings. And I
went with the Vikings before the whole injury stuff went down, right,
And in my mind, you have Browning, I believe that's
(11:49):
now the backup over there versus Wentz. And Wentz is
a lot more skilled than Browning is and a lot
more experienced than he is, and so you've got the
tail two backups coming in. And Wentz is setting a
record I think by starting this game for starting for
six different teams as a backup in six years, which
(12:10):
has never been done before. And each year that he's gone,
like so he you know, he was there with Philly,
and since he's been with Philly, it's been six different
teams in six years where he's been a starter at
least one game for which is absolutely nuts. So I'm
going with the Vikings. Like I said, I think that
with him being in there, I think it's a better bet.
(12:30):
But we'll have to see. This is one of my
lowest confidence picks of the week. Because I just I
don't know. You got Pittsburgh going into New England. Both
of us are choosing Pittsburgh. I think that that might
be a safe bet, relatively safe bet Rams in Philadelphia again.
I know I say it a lot, but I hope
for team media in this one, because I could give
a crap about either teams. Both of us are going
(12:52):
with the Rams though over the Eagles, and that whole
Tush push thing is now under scrutiny because they say
that a lot of times the offensive line just goes
off sides before it fucking happens. And maybe that finally
gets enough votes that this might be the last year
of the Toushbush.
Speaker 2 (13:08):
I don't know, I don't care.
Speaker 1 (13:09):
I don't think that Philadelphia is as good as they
were last year. I think they're sorely lacking on the
defensive side. I think offensively, Hurts is not really doing
a whole lot so far, and he's not throwing a
whole lot, and it's it's basically, if you can shut
down the run game of Philadelphia, then I think that
(13:29):
you shut down the game on them entirely. And right now,
the Rams have a pretty good defense and Stafford looks
like he's on a roll right now, so we'll see
what happens with that. Puka Akua is having a year
and DeVante Adams is making an impact for the Rams,
so we'll often see where a thing is going. Then,
of course, you've probably heard some noises going in the
(13:50):
background for the damn computer while I'm recording. Of course,
it always fucking happens whenever I'm doing these things. Anyway,
you got the Jets going in Tampa Bay. Both of
us are going with Tampa Bay on this one. I
just don't see the Jets being that great. Even though
justin Fields doesn't look that bad, that defense still looks
like Swiss cheese for what it is. You got the
Raiders going into the Commanders, and you know, I know
(14:14):
what Patrick's gonna pick. He's going with the Raiders. And
luckily I can say that word today without you know,
hearing something though in the background, you'd probably hear something
like that going off in the background every time I
say it. You know, even though he's not here, he's
here in spirit for what it is. But nonetheless, I'm
going with the Commanders, and it's not a knock against
(14:35):
the Raiders. I just think it's the safer pick out
of the two, but who knows what the Commanders and
the Commanders I think right now are zero to two,
and so this has got to be their jump back game.
And with the Raiders being one and one, this has
got to be a statement game for them. Genal has
to play extremely well. That offense has to click. You know,
your running back needs to do his job, even though
(14:55):
he's a rookie, needs to step it up a little
bit more. And for the Commanders, they have to show.
So I think maybe they're one and one. I think
they're both one and one, so I don't think the
Commander's own two. I think the Commanders won their very
first game, and so it's gonna be a tough game
regardless of whichever way it goes. So then you got
Carolina playing Atlanta in Carolina, both of us are going
(15:16):
with the Falcons. I think Carolina is still hot mess.
I don't know what Caroline needs to do to get
out of hot mess, and maybe it is getting rid
of Bryce Young for what it is. Then you got
Jacksonville at Houston. I believe no Houston at Jacksonville for
this one, and both of us are going with Houston
on this one. It's funny when you look at the
(15:36):
the Yahoo pickings where they had, like how many people
have picked in what direction? This is the most like
almost fifty to fifty game, fifty nine percent going with Houston,
forty one percent going with Jacksonville.
Speaker 2 (15:46):
I think that's funny.
Speaker 1 (15:47):
I think I think earlier when I was thinking about it,
Houston is actually the team that's owned two that needs
to have the bounce back game here. I think they
have it against Jacksonville.
Speaker 2 (15:56):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (15:57):
Well, see, I think this might be one of the
closer game of the week, but I think Houston squeaks
it out. You got the Chargers playing Denver in Los Angeles.
There eighty nine percent of people are going with the
Chargers in this one. I'm going with the Chargers. I know, Patrick,
this is the one. This is one of the ones
where we have a division He's going with the Broncos.
(16:17):
He's going with the Donkeys. I know this is a
division rival game, and he probably wants to vote for
Team Media on this one. But you know, it's just
the way the cookie crumbles. I think that this might
be a relatively close game. I think the Chargers are
better than people think that they are, and I think
Harbaugh's influence is starting to really sink into that team.
So we'll see where everything goes. But this could be,
(16:38):
you know, this could be an upset in the way
that it is in terms of the favorite winning this game.
Then you got New Orleans at Seattle. I am going
with the Seahawks, which I don't want to go with,
and so is Patrick. I don't think the Seahawks lose
against New Orleans. New Orleans played the forty nine ers
really close last week, but for the most part, they
(17:01):
were playing from behind the entire game and they were
still mistakes on both sides. So we'll see where everything
goes with that. You got Dallas going into Chicago. I
think Dallas definitely dominates Chicago in this game, though they
barely beat the goddamn Giants. Okay, I know Russell Wilson
had one of his vintage Russell Wilson games, even with
throwing up that lazy long ball of late Russell Wilson,
(17:24):
not early Russell Wilson, but for the most game, he
was proving why he should still be in the league
for that game. But I just don't see cale Williams
pulling off of Russell Wilson against the Cowboys. So I
think the Cowboys go to two and one this week,
and so does Patrick. Then you got Arizona at San
Francisco the first home game. We had to play two
(17:45):
games on the goddamn road. I know I shouldn't be
saying we, but fuck it, that's what I'm doing. But
San Francisco had to play that two games. The forty
nine Ers had two two weeks in a row. Finally
get the home game. I think San Francisco comes away
with the w on this one. I think it's going
to be really close, and it's gonna be how well
is or how good actually is Robert Salaz defense, because
(18:07):
fucking Kyler Murray has run circles around the forty nine
Ers defense since he's been in the league, and he
was best contained when it was solid running the defense,
but after that he's always been a problem. Contain him,
contain the fucking Cardinals win the game. That's what the
game plan I believe should be, and I believe San
(18:29):
Francis is going to come through, but there's a possibility
that they don't. So you know, I'm realist. When it
comes to this. I know Patrick has too. We always
pick our teams to win the games, you know, And
I'll put the point on it if I have to
put a single point, but hey, it's it's what it is.
I realist with this game, this could be San Francisco
had two to one. That's just the way I think
(18:50):
about it too. Then you got the Giants playing Kansas
City in New York. Both of us are going with
the Chances City keiefs to queefs, I mean, chiefs, whatever
you want to call it. And there's one game that
Patrick missed off on the last one, but I'm pretty
sure I would. Well, it's a tough game, so I'm
going to leave you to guess what his thing is
(19:12):
going to be on the last one. And you got
Detroit at Baltimore, and this is this could be the
game of the week. I have a feeling that he
might be going with Baltimore. I have a feeling because
of what the points that Baltimore's put.
Speaker 2 (19:27):
Up and how like they've been.
Speaker 1 (19:30):
I mean, that Ravens fucking Bill's game has to be
one of the greatest season opening games I have ever
seen in my life. That comeback is one of the
best comebacks and for people that have written that game
off and shame on you Bill's mafia for leaving that
game and getting out of that stadium and then having
one of the greatest comebacks that has ever been played
(19:52):
in the game of football. To be up by forty
points or to be on top with forty points and
then still lose that game by a last second field goal.
God damn Like wait until they meet back in the
playoffs once again, and that's gonna be one of the
greatest playoff games that we've seen out of you know,
NFL history. It could be standard test time of one
(20:15):
of the top ten games of all time. Right but
as season openers go, especially for the season over the
last game of that Sunday that is in the top
I would say top five of opening games of the
NFL to ever have been played. So but you know,
I'm going with Detroit on this one. This is an
extreme low confidence pick and Patrick could be going for
(20:38):
the Detroit for the same reason. This is Detroit's game,
this is their statement game, even though it's very early
in the year. This is the way I feel about
this game. Detroit needs to come out strong. They need
to show that week one wasn't a fluke against Green
Bay or was a fluke and they're not gonna lose
those games again that without the offensive coordinator that they had.
You know, they put up a good amount of point
(21:00):
against the Bears last week to basically say, hey, look
we can score, but it gets against the Bears, no
offense ETO, but it's against goddamn Bears. And you know,
but this has to be the game. This is the
one where I know that eighty six percent of people
on Yahoo are picking Baltimore. I want the dark horse
in this one. I think that that Detroit defense is
good enough to stop Baltimore and we're just gonna have
(21:23):
to see what's going on. So this is for me.
It is a low confidence point pick. That's what these
games like this are for me. I want to play
the odds because I feel like there are going to
be people out there that are going to pick Baltimore,
and there might be people in our group and they're
gonna put a ton of points behind Baltimore and then
you know, if Detroit wins that game, boom me out
(21:44):
of those goddamn points, I'm only getting two, or I'm
only getting three or I'm only getting one whatever it's
going to be. But guess what, I got the points
and you didn't, and you lost a giant chunk to
where I put it somewhere else. So even with that
Bills game, like I didn't want to put the full
sixteen into it, I only put thirteen. Almost everybody else
puts sixteen into it, but I want to Again, I'm
(22:06):
really starting to get like, Okay, I have to pick
the games that I think that are sure a fire,
but I don't think anybody's gonna put major points between it.
So that way, if something's a bust. So right now, though,
if the game that I put a lot of my
points into is a bust and that team wins the
underdog team, I'm screwed on this one.
Speaker 2 (22:27):
But we'll have to see.
Speaker 1 (22:28):
I think that the team that I picked for that
game is definitely a higher caliber team than that.
Speaker 2 (22:34):
So that's gonna be.
Speaker 1 (22:35):
It for this episode, for this little you know, it's
not so many but kind of mini episode, you know. Again,
I hope that you guys are all taking care of yourselves.
I hope that you're not letting what's going on in
this world ruin everything for you and that you're able to.
You know, as some would say, see the forest for
(22:55):
the trees. Don't divide yourselves, take care of each other.
This is one of the reasons why I say it
at the end of every one of my podcasts, have
a terrible terror podcast, because it happened, you know, and
it happened because bad shit was happening, and it just
it's a common thing. And I say at the end
of my streams as well, you know, make sure you
take care of yourselves and each other. No one else
(23:16):
is gonna do that, right, No one is there for you.
If you think that some of these bigger people out
there are there to help you and take care of you,
they're not all right. They're in it for themselves. They're
gonna use whatever happens out there against you. They're gonna
use it for them to make sure that they stay
in power, to make sure that they keep themselves at
(23:37):
a higher level. Doesn't matter what you think of eventually somebody.
That's why I don't give a fuck about what political
party that you fucking are, because we are fucking people
and that's what we should fucking be, right, and we
should look after each other, and fuck that whole shit
and fuck the politics and just be family, be friends,
be loved ones, and just be humans. That's ultimately what
(24:01):
I believe in this situation. And you know, I just
I want to make sure that everybody does take care
of yourselves and each other and as always peace bitches.
Speaker 3 (24:22):
I'm made of wires and circuits.
Speaker 4 (24:25):
Will I ever grow how to feel?
Speaker 3 (24:28):
Calculations run my mind unaware of.
Speaker 4 (24:31):
The cosmic wheel.
Speaker 3 (24:33):
Galaxies may come in, go, many lives begin a new
and die.
Speaker 4 (24:38):
I carry no emotions. I'll be here till the end
of time. This place feels so empty now. I lost
(24:59):
my mess with some time ago.
Speaker 3 (25:01):
Justice robots living here waiting for the time when we go.
Speaker 4 (25:06):
Do you think we'll feel any pain when this.
Speaker 3 (25:09):
World finally explodes?
Speaker 4 (25:11):
Is this our final existence?
Speaker 5 (25:13):
So?
Speaker 4 (25:13):
Will we just stay here and float?
Speaker 3 (25:16):
It's a futile future with no manal face.
Speaker 4 (25:21):
Just replicas like me and like me.
Speaker 5 (25:26):
It's just a dizzying dance waiting for the ends of
this society, this society.
Speaker 4 (25:36):
So let the sun just burn out.
Speaker 3 (25:40):
They in the bright light destroy the galaxy galley.
Speaker 6 (25:46):
There's no future for us.
Speaker 4 (25:49):
Just endless rhapsody.
Speaker 3 (26:12):
So I'll sit and wait and watch the stars while
the lights burden out this galaxy of ours?
Speaker 4 (26:22):
How will we dance when this world ends?
Speaker 3 (26:27):
