Speaker 1 (00:34):
What's up, everybody, and welcome back to another episode of
the It Be Like That podcast. As you can obviously tell,
we're not live on Twitch like we normally are. Brian's
thinking a little bit of time off from Twitch and
everything for a couple of weeks, and so I'm just
gonna jump in here and do a quick episode, do
a little talking I have. Obviously, the biggest thing I'm

(00:56):
going to talk about today is definitely what's going on
with the Raiders. I had something else in mine I
should have wrote it down because now I've gone blank.
But yeah, let's just go with that real quick, I said.
But it doesn't necessarily mean that this is gonna be
a long podcast. I know that. Before I get into that,

(01:16):
I'm just gonna say, thankfully I haven't gotten sick yet.
I know everybody around me has been sick, and luckily
I have not gotten sick yet, So figures crossed if
that stays that way. One thing that you can hear
my niece in the background too, so you enjoy the
baby sounds in the background. But yeah, I also like
so this week, I've just been super freaking tired. I've

(01:38):
been going to be super early. Hell, last night. I
came home from after we after working, we went to dinner.
I came home and I slept for like an hour
and a half on the sofa. So I'm just I
don't know. I'm just glad that it's the weekend. I'm
gonna chill and trying to catch up. I guess catch

(01:59):
up from sleep if I need it. I don't know
if I need it or not. But uh, I was
gonna laugh real quick. And so every Monday, we have
a meeting at work, and one of the things that
we have to we have to come up and say
what we're committing to for a certain thing that they're

(02:20):
trying to do called like wig or something like a
wig goal or something like that. And the thing is
is it's hard for us in the warehouse is to
take care of this because we're not out there doing
sales and everything else. I mean, there's certain things that
we can do, but like, after a while, you're saying
the same thing every freaking week. And so we have
basically all the stores have inventory this month in my area,

(02:44):
and so everybody was basically saying, Hey, we're gonna be
doing this, We're gonna do this, We're gonna do this.
We're getting ready for inventory, and one of the regional
managers like, you know, this is not what this meeting
is about. Blah blah blah blah. And I'm like laughing,
and I'm like, I get that, but there's only so
many things that we can do for these goals. These

(03:04):
are basically more on you guys going out there getting
more shops and doing and the salesmen doing certain things,
selling certain items. Like I mean, there's only so much
I can do at my spot, So I mean there's
a few things I've done, but still it's like you're
gonna hear it say the same thing over and over again.
You know, it just doesn't make sense. So that kind

(03:27):
of made me laught this week. That's you know, I
was just kind of like, I get what you're saying.
You don't want to hear certain things. But when it's
inventory month, guess what everybody's gonna be focusing on inventory.
And you know, I don't know what's going on with
our system lately. It's been so freaking slow or or

(03:47):
you just can't use it at all, like our our
scanning guns. So so inventory is gonna be really fun
if these guns don't work. You know, everybody relies on technology,
and the technology he's not working. So we'll see what happens.
My main thing that I was going to gripe about
is what the Raiders just did. The one good thing

(04:11):
is they dropped Garner Minshew. Sorry, as I knew from
the start he was going to be horrible. I knew
he wasn't gonna do anything for our team, and I
was right. He was garbage. It's funny. I was on
TikTok and they were talking about oh end of an
era of Garner Minshew and the Raiders and all the
highlights of him and all his interceptions all like there

(04:33):
were so many of them, like he had to have
thrown you know, let me look that up real quick. Actually,
I think he had to be in the double digits
on on interceptions. How many interceptions did Garner Minshew half

(05:05):
last year? Okay, ten, I knew it was in double digits.
Like that is just horrible. But so the good news
is he's gone. The bad news is they're picking up
Geno Smith. They traded a third round pick for Geno Smith,

(05:27):
and it drives me. I'm a little more calmer than
it was yesterday. I was extremely pissed. I think I
got a lot of my anger, majority of the anger
out for the moment because this team is making The
Raiders are making it really hard to be a fan
of the team. I tell you that right now. And
we are so many pieces that we need. We have
an extra third round pick because this is the third
round pick that we got from the Jets when we

(05:48):
traded off Devonte Adams. So yes, it was an extra
third pick, third round pick, but it's a pick we
could use, and we're gonna use it to get gen Know,
Gino Smith, the guy's garbage. I'm sorry. He is mediocre
as fuck. And look at the last three sets of

(06:08):
quarterbacks that we've had, Jimmy Garoppolo, everybody give me a chance.
I was completely right about him Garner Minshew. I kept
saying he's garbage, he's not gonna do shit. Give him
a chance. What happened. I was completely right. Now you
have Gino Smith in here, I'm sorry, I'm gonna say
the same thing. He ain't gonna do nothing for us.

(06:30):
I'm hoping that he's gonna be a backup and we
start eight and O'Connell. Why they keep hating on this kid,
I'd have no idea as a starter eight and O'Connell
is six and one, could have been seven and zero.
But that game against the Chiefs, that was that that

(06:53):
what's the word I'm looking for. It was the messed
up snap that hold debacle there, the ball got snapped early.
He would have he probably would have won that game
and he would be seven to zero as a starter.
I don't count the games that you say it's gonna
be his fault when they throw them in there, when
Garner Minshew or or Garoppolo or playing like ass. So

(07:15):
they threw him in there, you know, at a disadvantage
to try to fucking finish out the game. As a starter,
he's been fucking great. So why not just keep rolling
with this kid? Why are we bringing in all these
other people that we know are trash and it's it's
it's something that the Raiders are just fucking known for.
They bring in these hack ass quarterbacks that didn't make

(07:38):
it in other places for what It makes no fucking sense.
Even if you were wanting to go get a rookie,
another rookie quarterback or whatever like that, I mean, you
can still have O'Connell there I'd rather have him there
in his third year, maybe making a few mistakes, compared
to a guy who's been in the league for over
five years plus and can't do jack shit. I just

(08:02):
it's just, you know, oh the everybody's like, oh, well,
you know, Tom Breee, can you come in there and
do much great stuff if you get it. He knows
the game of football. This is his decision. Everything saying
it's just Pete Carroll. But he would from what I
understand he had, from what Mark Davis said, he had
to say over both the GM and the and the

(08:27):
head coach. So this obviously had to go through his
through him for him to get the okay to do it.
If it wasn't his idea and he allowed that, you're
gonna go pick up this mediocre piece of ship guy
who sucks against good defenses. He can't do nothing. I mean,
it just doesn't make any sense. It doesn't make any
sense at all. So I mean, people say, well, who

(08:50):
would you want, Well, the guy I wanted justin field,
he might be staying in uh Pittsburgh. You know, you know,
for sure, one thing I can at least say, I'm
happy I don't have to hear about no more is
oh Russell Wolfson's coming to the Raiders. Russell Wilson's come
with the Raiders. He's not. I knew he wasn't, and
that was all bullshit, Like why would we want this guy?

(09:10):
You've seen how he played the last three years and
how and that's out of Seattle, and when he was
in Seattle, you can see how he played. He he's
just he lost his in factor. He doesn't have it.
He's washed up. Honestly, And this might sound stupid to
some people, but I would rather have Aaron Rodgers than

(09:32):
Gino Smith. The only problem is Aaron Rodgers probably gonna
cost too much money. And I mean, who knows if
he can play for us, But like, at least you
know you have a vet quarterback who's setting us what
he's doing the Jets. I don't know what the hell
happened over there with the Jets with him, you know,
But I just I'd rather have a guy who's more
comfortable back there than what Gino Smith can do. And

(09:55):
if I, once again I've said this for the past
couple of years with these other quarterbacks, if I'm wrong
and he does something, they're good, I'll say I'm wrong,
but I haven't been proven wrong yet. We picked up
fucking Josh McDaniels as a fucking head coach, and I
told you what he was gonna do to this team,

(10:15):
and he sure the fuck did. He fucked over the
whole fucking Raider team, the fans and everything with the
way he did. Shit, he screwed over Car. Whether like
I've said this once, I've said it a thousand times. Whatever,
if it was time for Carr to leave the Raiders,
it was time for fucking Car to leave the Raiders.
I'm not gonna argue about that. I personally would have
liked to have kept him at least for another couple
of years. But why are you yelly? Then she gives

(10:43):
me a cute smile. But yeah, I personally would have
liked to kept Car longer. But if it was time
for him to go, fine, it was time for him
to go. But the way he got screwed over by
Josh McDaniels is bullshit. I still say to this day
he gave Car a different playbook than what he gave
the rest of the people. Because how were we just
in the playoffs the year before? Now all of a sudden.

(11:06):
No one knows how to run routes and Hunter Renfro
was going one way when the ball was going the
other way. That's that's bullshit, that's bullshit. I still say
he had a different playbook and the way he screwed
over Renfro, that guy was. I don't know how no
one else has picked hasn't picked him up. I've seen
what he can do on the field, as everybody's seen

(11:26):
what he can do on the field, and it blows
my mind that no one else has picked him up.
And I hope he doesn't get picked up by someone
in this offseason because he deserved to be on the
field playing. But you know, we bench car and then
tell him not even to show up to the stadium
after him blood, sweat and tears for nine years with
this team, and to have a stadium start who sucked,

(11:50):
and then we trade his ass off and we bring
in Jimmy Piso, shit Garoppolo, who I told everybody I
said hi from the get go, and I got just
so much the arguments with my dad over this, you
need to give him a chance, and this, this and
this that I don't need to do shit. I've seen
the guy play and he sucks. If he has a
good line, he might do a little bit of something,

(12:11):
but he still overthrows people. He's injured. You look at
him cross eyed, and he gets he's fucking injured. And
you know, sure enough, I said, by game four, O'Connor
will be starting. And guess what happened Game four O'Connor
was starting. I guess he was hurt and a minshew.
I told you right off the bat, I said, minch,
you isn't gonna do shit. There's a reason why he's

(12:31):
been on so many teams in a short period of time,
and sure enough, it is just absolute garbage. So we'll
see what happens with Gino Smith. But like once again,
I'm hoping that he's gonna be a backup. But if
you're paying this guy way more than you're paying someone else,
you know who they're planning on starting, So it just
doesn't make any sense. Hell, all the people out there.

(12:53):
Even though I wasn't too keen on saying any Sam
Donaldson because you see how he folded in the playoffs,
I would have tooken Sam Donaldson definitely, or you know
some of these whoever, I don't even know exactly who's
out there, But there's so many people out there that
we probably could have got compared to a guy who's
been in the league for help for I don't really
see how long he's been in the league. At least

(13:14):
has to be in lea over over six years. Let's
see Gino Smith. Let's see. Let mean look here Wikilpea. Yeah,

(13:40):
he was drafted in twenty thirteen by the Jets. Twenty
thirteen to twenty sixteen, he was with the Jets. Twenty seventeen,
he was with the Giants. I don't even remember that.
Twenty eighteen he was with the Chargers. Kind of don't
even remember that. And then he's been with Seattle since
twenty nineteen. I mean, I'm not gonna say say he

(14:02):
didn't start playing better the last couple of years in Seattle,
but still, I just the guy's been in the league
for eleven years, and I mean he's just he's not
he's not. He's mediocre. And for a team that has
one of the highest cap spaces right now, it can

(14:24):
spend some money, why you don't go and do that
and get someone better. It just doesn't make sense to me.
I just I just it blows my mind that we're
doing this shit and we don't even have a running
back as of really right now. I mean, you know,
we have Mason I think that was his name, but

(14:45):
you know, he was all right. We got rid of Jacobs,
and I understand, I'm Jacobs part of it too, Like
he's been here for so long and he saw how
the team is, what's going on with the team and
the coaches and everything else, and he wanted out. It
is what it is. But we should be focused on
getting a good running back back there too. You gotta

(15:07):
have a run game. As much as they are passing
in this NFL, we need we need a good run
game too. The other thing, the other problem I had
with you know, Smith is he is his injuries. I
know he's had a couple of headed injuries. So what's
how long until he takes another hit and he's out again.
I don't know. I don't know. I guess we'll see

(15:28):
what happens. It's just it's getting harder and harder to
watch this team. And before anybody says anything, no, I'm
not switching teams, but I have I can have my opinion.
I have my feelings about my own damn fucking team.
I mean, the Sharks San Jose Sharks are sucking ass
right now. My baseball team is out in fucking Sacramento now,
supposed to be moving to Vegas, you know. And I

(15:51):
mean I like the Warriors and everything. I'm just I'm not.
I don't know, like I go in and out of
liking watching basketball. If it's odd, I'll watch it, but
I don't go out of my way for basketball like
I do these other sports. And baseball I'd barely watch
any baseball last year because of what's going on with
the Eights. It's hard to support a team with an
owner who doesn't give a shit about the fans. And
he could have, you know, and he ran that team always.

(16:14):
I said, if you ever see the movie Major League,
we were the Cleveland Indians in the Major League last
last couple of years. He ran this team into the
ground to be able to move him. And I don't
blame everything on him. I do blame a lot of
it on the city of Oakland because the mayor's you know,
the last couple of mayors that have been you know,
they're they're all out there with a definite agenda. How

(16:35):
the mayor the last mayor just got arrested by the
FBI for a bunch of shit, and it was funny.
I forget how much it was. It was like two
million dollars or something like that, maybe more or less.
I can't remember. That they just magically found out of
nowhere and they had chucked down a bunch of fire
departments out in Oakland and this money just popped up

(16:55):
out of nowhere after they investigated them, and like now
they're gonna start opening up some fire departments again. It's
just like I said, it's just corruption and also other bullshit.
So anyways, I'm gonna end this here. I had something
else I wanted to talk about, which I completely forgot.
So it is what it is. Make sure you follow
all our socials you have. It'd be like that podcast

(17:20):

which I actually need to watch too, because they did
the announcement for the for the band lineup, which looks
very good. It I was gonna go this year, I

(18:29):
don't know. I got some debating to do about it.
See if I want to go or not. If I
do go, maybe I might go one day or two
days or something like that. We'll see what happens. But well, anyways,
that's that's the talk for another time. But yeah, until
next time, deuces, or as Brian would say, peace bitches.
