It is a thrill to welcome Ben “The Bane” Davis as a guest on this special The Challenge edition of The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast!

Ben is an extreme sports broadcaster who provides play-by-play for UFC Fight Pass, DAZN, and Misfits Boxing.  Recently, he made his Reality TV debut on The Challenge 41: Vets vs. New Threats.  Ben began his Challenge journey by joining his fellow New Threats, such as Ayoleka “Leka” Sodade, Cedric Hodges, Dee Valladares, Gabe Wai, Sydney Segal, and Yeremi Hykel, and legendary veterans such as Aneesa Ferreira, Cara Maria Sorbello, CT Tamburello, Derrick Kosinski, Olivia Kaiser, and Turabi “Turbo” Camkiran by climbing a Chilean mountain to get to the house.

For the first few episodes of the season, the New Threats partnered up with veterans, but after each elimination, they had to change partners. He played “Mud Ball Madness” with four-time finalist Nany Gonzalez, “Side by Side” by Challenge All-Stars finalist Nia Moore, and “Water Tower” with two-time champion Cara Maria Sorbello.  However, Ben’s most significant moment in the game was when he teamed up with The Challenge USA finalist and iconic Survivor alum Michaela Bradshaw on the “Amazed” daily challenge, and THEY WON! Under their watch, new threat Gabe Wai sent home show icon and seven-time champion Jonathan Potassium…I mean Johnny Bananas.

Sadly, Ben’s luck took a turn for the worse when he teamed up with Olivia. The partnership seemed promising on paper, but when they faced the “Dirtballer” daily challenge, they finished near the back of the pack. With her UK alliance, Olivia plotted to sacrifice Ben and become the Hangnail to save her ally, Derek Chavez, who was up for elimination. After two intense vote-offs, host TJ Lavin flipped a coin, and Ben was sent into the Arena, where Chavez eliminated him in a Hall Brawl inspired by the film HIM.

On this special edition of The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, Ben “The Bane” Davis spoke about being cast on the long-running MTV reality competition, winning with Michaela, Olivia’s betrayal, speaking with Leka on his Do Not Resuscitate Podcast with Riley Osborne, and previewing his first Challenge Mania Live appearance.

(00:48):
thrilled to make history because I have the very first
Era five me cast member of the Challenge. He's a boxer.
He's a play by play commentator for UFC Fight Past
dayson in Misfits Boxing. He co hosts That Do Not
Resusccate podcasts with Riley Osborne, and most recently you saw
him on The Challenge That's Versus New Friends.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
And he was on my team, Team Jacob, So please
help me welcome mister Ben the band David to the podcast.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
Haha, Jacob, my guy, thank you so much for having
me here. A hell of an introduction. I'm pumped to
be on your show.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
And I'm so pumped to have you here.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
Of all the cast members that I've worked with over
the years year for as I gotta say this, you
have been so supportive of me, and I'm very so
grateful for that, and I'm so happy that we're here.

Speaker 1 (01:38):
I wish we were talking a little bit later this season,
to be honest.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
Man, me as well, Me as well. It'd be fun
to have continued the journey. But you know, first and foremost,
you've been an unreal point of support and the constant
positivity and the DMS. Brother, it means a ton. I
can't thank you enough for the love that you show
me this season.

Speaker 1 (01:57):
That means a lot.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
And this is a big week two because as of
this recording, I'm having my birthday month.

Speaker 4 (02:03):
Let's go copy birthday, Happy Birthday month.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
Thank you so much. Thirty, I don't look like I'm
thirty seven.

Speaker 4 (02:11):
Thirty you're kidding. That's a lot not you. If you
told me that you were twenty two, I would have
believed you.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
Jacob, that is ridiculous, Jeanes, you have, brother.

Speaker 1 (02:22):
Thank you so much.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
I owe it all to no hard dreads, no hard liquor, water, exercise,
good jeans, and of course stuff care for Men.

Speaker 1 (02:32):
Which is not a sponsor to Jake's taking Jacob as
your podcast just yet.

Speaker 4 (02:36):
That's why I'm aging poorly.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
I am hitting coke every single day and drinking at
least half a liter of Jack Daniels both Monday, Wednesday
and Friday. So you know, I'm putting myself in an
early grave. Jacob.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
Alright, Ben, before we get started, I want to talk
about the nickname the Babe when.

Speaker 3 (02:56):
So I wish that there was a more comprehensive backstory
to the nick name. I was doing some Twitch streaming
in twenty twenty one, trying to find myself in the
content creation vein, and figured that, you know, Ben Davis
just wasn't compelling enough. Ben Ben Davis wasn't something that
would grab people's attention if they're scrolling by streams to watch.
So I figured, all right, let's have a moniker. Let's

(03:17):
have an online brand, an alter ego, if you will.
And that's where the Bane was spawned, not by anything specific.

Speaker 4 (03:23):
I love Tom Hardy's portrayal in The Dark Knight Rises.

Speaker 3 (03:27):
I think Bain is a cool one of the coolest
villains in the Rogues gallery for Batman.

Speaker 4 (03:32):
But I don't know.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
I think I just like how it sounded Ben the
Bain Davis, and it's stuck throughout the combat sports journey.
And you know, I've always heard that you can't give
yourself a nickname, but to be fair, Ben the Bain
is pretty good.

Speaker 4 (03:45):
So I think I I'm the exception.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
It's a great nickname because an honors one of those
some of the greatest Batman villains of all the time.
I've been a Batman fan since nineteen ninety three.

Speaker 3 (03:55):
Damn, let's get it, baby, Let's get it. An og
fan of the dark Nimes.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
I met the Lake Great Kevin and Lake Great Adam
West and so much more. And we'll talk later. But however,
this is all about you. I would love to know
who are your broadcasting heroes.

Speaker 4 (04:10):
Man.

Speaker 3 (04:10):
I will keep it combat sports centric, as that's really
where my love of sports can be found. Right before
I discovered mixed martial arts and boxing, I didn't watch
much sports. I didn't really listen to the play by
plays and color commentators of different eras. But you know,
when I got into watching the UFC, John Anick is
the principal voice behind all the action that you hear,

(04:33):
and he has such a i would say, transformative approach
to the play by play role that nothing against Mike
Goldberg or you know, Todd Grisham, other Brandan Fitzgerald, other
guys that have sat in that UFC booth. But I
just think Annik is electric every second of the broadcast,
from the earliest prelim to the main event. Of course,
he brings it and there's just economy in his words

(04:55):
that speaks to me, right, being concise, not wasting moments,
not having verbal crutches, got none of them. But outside
of the great giant Annick Man, I love Mara Ronaldo.
He's such a big pillar in the combat sports play
by play world. Michael Chavello, who is fantastic, right Chavello's
good night Irene. The Big Kobash is just it's it's

(05:15):
music to the ears and big shouts to the current
UFC's you know on air Team Fitzgerald, John Gooden, Dan Helly,
They're all tremendous guys at the peak of their craft,
and hopefully one day I can join him.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
I have a feeling you're on your way of joining that.

Speaker 3 (05:32):
Hey fingers crossed. Look, I'm I might be shooting myself
in the foot half the time. With being so vocal
and opinionated on social media, that could work against me
down the line. Maybe it won't, but I don't know.
I can't keep my mouth shut, Jacob, I don't know
how to shut up sometimes.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
And thing is same with me. I have heroes as well.
Some of them are a little controversial.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
I don't know, mister Simon Cowell, Howard Stern, Sir Elton,
John Ellen, DeGeneres, Wendy Williams, Andy Cohen mhm mm hmm hmm.

Speaker 4 (06:01):
Some of the greats. Man.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
I mean, Wendy Williams was got. It's a tragedy's what's
occurred to her. But in her heyday man peak Wendy
Williams no better TV.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
Absolutely. Oh. By the way, I have a Wendy story
to share with you off the air.

Speaker 4 (06:12):
Fantastic. I can't wait for it.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
All rightie, guys, we got to work here for Ben
so Ben before we get into the challenge world. One
thing I would love to learn as one journalist from another,
how can you describe how you prepare for your for
your play by play? You have to see fight pass
or mits with boxing as you got ready to go
into the ring, as you prepare.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
Absolutely it's it's tricky and I would say simpler than
some might think.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
Right.

Speaker 3 (06:38):
I believe that good play by play is built on
knowledge of the combatants inside the ring being able to
tell their story as effectively and intuitively as possible. Right,
you don't want to be able to You want to
be able to blend it, right, blend their background, their bios.

Speaker 4 (06:54):
You don't want to have this like weird robotic calling
the action.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
And then this person was born in Dearborn, Michigan, and
they went to this high school and their first outing
was against you know, Billy Williams in August of twenty sixteen.

Speaker 4 (07:07):
And then you go back to the action.

Speaker 3 (07:08):
Right, you want it to blend and all kind of
you know, wash over the ears in one big wave.

Speaker 4 (07:14):
But yeah, the preparation is built.

Speaker 3 (07:16):
Upon just interviewing the people that are fighting, and doing
my own research on what I think is gonna make
the best broadcast possible, the most engaging one, the most
entertaining one. And look, sometimes I'm more prepped than other times. Right,
this most recent Misfits boxing show, there was a little
less ammunition that I had in the scouting reports or

(07:38):
my own personal preparation. But I thankfully I've gotten to
a point where I'm confident enough that if my research
isn't on that extensive level as I'd like it to be.
I can glide and subsidize it in other ways, and
I didn't have that for a while in my broadcasting career.

Speaker 4 (07:57):
But thankfully at this point, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (07:59):
We make it work, all right. And you were and
I was messing.

Speaker 2 (08:02):
I just messaged you because I saw that screenshot where
you and the app I mean you almost got hurt.

Speaker 1 (08:06):
I was like, literally terrified.

Speaker 4 (08:09):
No, I mean, listen, it gets wild at some of
these misfits fight weeks.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
You've got the influencers, the crossover boxers, and huge names
in the combat sports world till rock Hold come on
and tensions get high, and unfortunately the man with the
microphone is usually caught up in the crossfire.

Speaker 4 (08:24):
But that's where I love being, you.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
Know, I don't like I think it's an important note
to not make the action about yourself, right, because we're
here for these athletes and they are the main driving narrative.
But like adding value and sprinkling in, you know, my
own kind of creative way is I think a addition
that helps raise the tide, not one specific boat.

Speaker 4 (08:45):
So you know, I don't know, I enjoy it. It's
it's me.

Speaker 3 (08:49):
It's I'm so passionate about this, and maybe maybe I
get too passionate sometimes, but no, yeah, I do get
caught in the crossfire frequently.

Speaker 1 (08:56):
Same with me.

Speaker 2 (08:57):
I get crossbar too because I call that something be
a challenged legend who called out one of your rivals
and earlier, and I'm still feeling the heat from that.
So no, I'll give you a hint afterwards. But however,
the thing is, we're here, we have a little bit
living time for your first edition, so we got to
get to the beat meat imitatus.

Speaker 1 (09:18):
So how did you get on the Challenge radar?

Speaker 4 (09:22):
It's crazy.

Speaker 3 (09:22):
I know that when I was cast and the spoiler
community learned of my existence on this season, the first
thought in people's minds was what the fuck?

Speaker 1 (09:31):
You know?

Speaker 3 (09:32):
I get that there's an oddity that's being on the
New Threats side in season forty one, but no, I
mean it really boils down to networking to some extent.
I did a show last year with a really talented
director and producer that's done great work in Hollywood, and
you know him and I were debriefing the week after.
In March of twenty twenty four, and we just off
handedly got on the topic of his career in reality TV.

(09:55):
I had been poking and asking a couple questions, and
he just asked like, look, okay, well, like which one
would you want to go on hypothetically?

Speaker 4 (10:03):
And I don't watch reality TV, which is something I've changed.

Speaker 3 (10:07):
I've adopted the genre and become a big fan of everything,
you know, reality TV centric. But I'd only seen season
twenty four of The Challenge, right, which is Rivals too,
and I don't know. I in that moment, not not
panic necessarily, but I was like, I need to supply
an answer. So I was like, the challenge seems great,
you know, not even not even really understanding that the

(10:29):
whole premise of the Challenge is bringing people from other
reality TV shows and plugging them in.

Speaker 4 (10:34):
Didn't. I wasn't really.

Speaker 3 (10:35):
Aware of that at the time. I was just I
was like, I need to, you know, give this guy
an answer. And his response was no way. I worked with,
you know, the casting director for many years on one
of my shows. Let me just give her a ring
and see where she's got with her process.

Speaker 4 (10:49):
And I was like cool.

Speaker 3 (10:50):
And then I heard nothing for months, Like this was
a benign conversation almost that I'd totally forgotten about until
mid July, where I got a DM from the casting
director and she's fantastic her and I had a really
wonderful introductory call and she was like, look, send me
you know, a real and some other information and we'll
see if we can get the ball rolling.

Speaker 4 (11:11):
And that was like mid July to mid December.

Speaker 3 (11:14):
Was this whole casting process of going through and doing
the medical evails, the physical evol the psyche val and
this entire time, I'm thinking to myself, there is no
way they're going to cast me.

Speaker 4 (11:25):
Why would they do that?

Speaker 3 (11:28):
Because I've been watching season thirty nine, season forty and
learning much more about the show and this realm, and
I was just like, man, I'm not the guy that's
coming from Love Island with a six pack in six', five.

Speaker 4 (11:39):
Right or the person with ears of REALITY tv.

Speaker 3 (11:41):
Background SO i just it became hard for me to
believe that they would actually cast. Me and then in
Mid december when she was, like, oh by the, way
you're on the season forty one, officially, congrats like when
you fly out In, FEBRUARY i was just, like oh my,
god oh, fuck, no what IF i got myself into.

Speaker 2 (11:59):
All right WHEN i picked to, you because the thing,
is you represent all broadcasters because a lot of my
Friends Mike, lewis Got, jeger our origial, Friends Scott jeger
And Derek, kazinski they've all been, in And paige And
dylan And Drew, angelman we all wanted. In Pierre, bacall
all of us want to be in that real but
the problem is with. Us so that's WHY i really

(12:22):
admired you for. That SO i want to get started
with the launch episode with your first challenge was climbing
That chilean mountain to get to the. House so what
went through your mind as you were climbing the?

Speaker 3 (12:31):
Hill, GOD i mean what went through my mind WAS
i should have maybe brought a pair of shorts instead
of my. Sweatpants going for something looser could have given
me greater. Success but, no it, was you, know an
opportunity to prove to everybody threats and new vetsa like
THAT i can do something, physical right Because i'm. Not
the five out of the Eight mile rookies Were, Marines,

(12:54):
army this military, background which is.

Speaker 4 (12:57):
CRAZY i was, LIKE i don't that's not.

Speaker 3 (12:59):
Me and SO i viewed this mountain as the first
crack to show, everybody oh, okay he can also be
on that same. Level didn't really work out, though came
in like, fifteenth so not as bad as some but
not as good as.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
Others but still you beat bananas and potassium in turbo
as they locked arms and skipped on the house one hundred.

Speaker 3 (13:19):
Percent AND i, LISTEN i beat some. PEOPLE i Dusted
rogan BEAT. Theo OBVIOUSLY i love ct a, ton but
he really struggled on that first.

Speaker 4 (13:26):
Day it was it was nice to see BECAUSE i
was frustrated with.

Speaker 3 (13:30):
IT i, MEAN i was so frustrated with my performance
in pretty much every challenge on this. Season but it
was nice to be, like all, right it wasn't the
best of runs up, mountains but it could have been much.
Worse so proud of myself in some.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
Way but you, know okay for the first, challenge Mudball,
mannus which was, crazy one of the craziest Things i've
seen watching Since Final. Reckoning so you were partner With,
nannie who was making her return After rider, Dies so
could you just drive the craziness of looking for not
just their red, balls but those elusive golden balls those

(14:06):
in the munth.

Speaker 3 (14:06):
Pts elusive is the perfect word for, it because the
first we didn't know there'd be two, drops, Right so
the first drop comes, Down i'm scanning And i'm, like
where the hell are all the gold balls that they mentioned,
right and couldn't find. Any So nanny AND i were
just desperately trying to get down and scoop up as
many as we, can and our strategy fell apart. Instantly

(14:27):
we were going to try and like sachet down the
side and pick up a ball and you, know sideways
our way back up That, no that absolutely did not
work right off the. Rips so her AND i are
trying to improve and scramble and it's not. Working and
Then i'm seeing other, teams you, know throwing balls to
other people's, side and you, know the team's grabbing and
throwing balls, backwards and there's just some bending of the

(14:49):
rules That i'm observing and, GOING i.

Speaker 4 (14:52):
Can't do that's that's breaking the, rules. Right they just
told us like twenty minutes, ago he couldn't fucking do these.

Speaker 3 (14:56):
Things and now obviously with the EXPERIENCE i have and
then NOW i have, Obtained i'd be doing the same.
Shit oh my, god IF i could read that. Challenge oh, yeah,
YEAH i Tell, nanny hey grab that. One tossed that over,
Here hey grab that.

Speaker 4 (15:10):
One, boom take it over.

Speaker 3 (15:11):
Here i'd start lowering the shoulder on some, people, right
and we'll put you in the mud a little, bit
make your journey up a little bit.

Speaker 4 (15:16):
Harder you. Know there's just a level of like.

Speaker 3 (15:18):
Gamesmanship THAT i think obviously a rookie and someone in
my shoes no REALITY tv, experience just didn't, have. Right but,
no It's nanny was. Great her AND i worked together really.
Well we communicated. Defectively it wasn't going well. RIGHT i
think we finished eleventh or, twelve so not a spectacular first.
Challenge but WHAT i love the most About nanny is
she just she never snapped at, me. Right there was

(15:40):
never a moment where she'd like let out her anger at,
me even if we were both frustrated with how it was.
GOING i think her AND i both, understood, like it's
not really the person next to me's, fault it's a
collective we're, struggling and you, Know i'm not gonna make
an issue when there doesn't have to be.

Speaker 4 (15:57):
One and now she was. Sweet she was the sweetest
that's out of.

Speaker 2 (16:00):
Here i'm glad to hear it Because nanni when she
was or when she's not around The Vacation, alliance it
feels like she's in her the head in the.

Speaker 1 (16:07):
Game but when The Vacation alliance comes, ALONG i.

Speaker 3 (16:09):
Was, like, SO i hear so much about this Vacation
alliance AND i think That's Tory Deals Vacation.

Speaker 4 (16:17):
Alliance, Correct that's.

Speaker 2 (16:18):
Correct nani's a member was affiliate of that because thanks
to her Ex. Casey so it Was, Beethi, Anissa, Tory,
devin And nanni and they were all vacation. Together they
were all on the same shows, together they all made
the final, together and they and a lot of fans
did not like.

Speaker 4 (16:33):
That, yeah which is, fair, RIGHT i think.

Speaker 3 (16:36):
THAT i Think ashley just put up something on Her
instagram story where when you don't cast groups of, friends
the season's become.

Speaker 4 (16:43):
Better AND i do agree with.

Speaker 3 (16:44):
THAT i think it's unfair to some extent to come
in with like these predetermined alliances and notions and that
just kills the, Excitement like, gang we're here for GOOD,
Tv we're here for REALITY. Tv pause your fucking friendships
at the, door and let's figure this out during the
season and whatever makes sense makes, sense like coming in
is this you, know huge faction that's already going to
be running.

Speaker 4 (17:04):
Things look as a, Viewer i'd tune the fuck. Out
AND i agree.

Speaker 1 (17:09):
TOO i agree with you.

Speaker 2 (17:10):
Completely that's the reason WHY i did not like the vacation,
lines even Though i've loved, stuff even THOUGH i can
be LIKE i Loved car Like Cars cold And war
The world's, too Because car And paulie were running the
show and said they took out all those people THAT
i hate. It but now we we're looking At olivia
and theo oh my. God There, Now i've never seen

(17:34):
something like that Since pauli And Car's cold.

Speaker 3 (17:37):
And which really and it's so cool to See olivia's
transformation as a challenger BECAUSE i think in some prior, seasons,
right she's had either bad luck with a golf ball
to the nose or you, know was a villain in
some people's, regards. RIGHT i think in thirty nine she
had all those issues With nurice And harassio and some
people's estimations was, betrayal, Right but this, SEASON i think

(18:00):
we saw the best version Of olivia, possible which is
a woman who's been crushing the off season in, preparation
came in with the game plan, better the best strategy
we've seen from, her and it's, working you, know up
through episode. SIX i mean she's running the. Show so,
yeah it was a bummer to see. HER theo is
The adrianne you, Know Rogan, Jake, like it was tough

(18:23):
to see this alliance form within the first forty eight
hours of being in the house because that's kind of,
Stupid but the hats off to.

Speaker 4 (18:31):
Her credit to her because that's what you want to.

Speaker 2 (18:33):
Do, Absolutely and another person that's making waves of season
Is Mikayla Bradshaw and week four in the, competition you
were partnering With mikayla and one on The Amazed.

Speaker 1 (18:45):
Challenge so what were your thoughts when tij declared you
guys the.

Speaker 3 (18:48):
WINNER i was over the, moon you know for, ME
i think this was shown in the, confessionals but maybe
not to the extent that it truly was.

Speaker 4 (18:57):
FEELING i was just searching desperately.

Speaker 3 (18:59):
To prove my AND i needed to make good on
the fact THAT i was cast and show everybody in the,
house everybody watching that LIKE i can, PROVIDE i can
really stand out in some, areas and you, KNOW i
think That sudoku, was you, know not like the biggest
point that was going to earn me. Respect, Right it's
not like a, headbanger it's not like something you, know,

(19:21):
crazy but it was a, testament, right it was a
point WHERE i could, GO i came.

Speaker 4 (19:25):
In, first we beat.

Speaker 3 (19:26):
Everybody we worked so fluidly as a, team so so
effectively as a, team AND i just it was it
was very. SURREAL i didn't THINK i would win a daily.
CHALLENGE i didn't think THAT i, would you, know get
points in two of the five dailies THAT i participated. In,
Uh and so it, was you, know it was nice
for me and my confidence to be, like, man you know,
WHAT i can fucking win some of these.

Speaker 2 (19:47):
Things AND i would love to see, you michaela work
together again another, season especially since you guys set in
mister seven time, champion Mister JONATHAN.

Speaker 4 (20:03):
I it's, crazy, like what in what world Is Johnny banana's?

Speaker 3 (20:07):
Gone episode three, right episode, four, Right like it's so
early in the season to lose, Him and, honestly what's
crazy is like he sent himself in, there him And
leka doing That snoku puzzle and forty five minutes in
tearing everything off the.

Speaker 4 (20:22):
Board, johnny that's a rookie.

Speaker 3 (20:23):
Move that's what you should have, Known johnny, That, HEY
i don't love what's going, on but it's getting late
in the. Game we probably shouldn't set ourselves back to
square one at the, moment. Right SO i don't, Know,
jay he was the captain of his own. DEMISE i
think in episode, four sadly we have to talk about.

Speaker 2 (20:42):
THAT i hate to talk about bring us. Up, however
we got to talk about. It the challenge moves in
waves and ebbs and, flows and unfortunately he may have,
won as you expound that you won one, week that
you were sent packing the. Next so we got to
talk about that crazy awful. Challenge that about the. Kicking
SO i felt for you every single, Bit like sixteen tries.

Speaker 3 (21:09):
TERRIBLE i you, KNOW i had joked about like playing
third string, linebacker and for those in the, know whenever
you're like the third string on a, team you're the
most god awful member of, it, Right so it was
a little bit of a joke THAT i think some people.
Misinterpreted but the reality, is LIKE i still was there
for that year of football and should have remembered some

(21:31):
of those, skills not THAT i was kicking field goals
every day as a, linebacker but, yeah it.

Speaker 4 (21:36):
Was it was a stunning moment of what the fuck
AM i doing?

Speaker 3 (21:40):
Wrong and it's even more frustrating because the first two
kicks THAT i got, off they had the, distance they
had the, height they were just too far. Left and
then everything really goes downhill AND i can't get the
ball to go more than three feet in the. Air
and you, know, granted the editing has framed it a
certain way for the people that have come At olivia

(22:02):
and were screaming about why didn't she step in?

Speaker 4 (22:06):
Soon or why did she let him kick it sixteen?
Times she?

Speaker 3 (22:09):
Did she, did LIKE i THINK i kicked it maybe
five or six or seven times and nothing was. Working
she steps, in and then we just start going back and,
forth you, know one at a, time and it got
to PROBABLY i think nineteen or twenty kicks or, something you, know,
honestly maybe even.

Speaker 4 (22:27):
More If i'm like we were there For it, Sucks.

Speaker 3 (22:31):
Jacob it sucks because we were on pace to maybe
finish third or.

Speaker 4 (22:35):
Fourth we had gotten all of.

Speaker 3 (22:37):
Our polls, over we'd started planting them and digging, them
and most of the teams had only gotten like two poles.
Over So olivia AND i we were gelling so well
at the beginning of, this we were. Cruising i'm, like,
man this is exactly WHY i selected. Her she's the
top female in the, house and now it's being shown
in this daily challenge and it's making me. Better and

(22:58):
then it very quickly made us both worse because it
just took forever to fill that pit in and get
it to the point where they would allow us to
go put the cross guard and get the. Kick and,
YEAH i ran out of steam really. QUICKLY i wish
that my cardio held up better to get some more
quality kicks, in BUT i that day just beat the

(23:19):
fucking shit out of.

Speaker 4 (23:20):
ME i can't.

Speaker 1 (23:21):
Lie and it got worse as the episode went.

Speaker 2 (23:23):
On so what was went through your mind when when
you saw That olivia wanted to do that move and you.

Speaker 1 (23:31):
Help me the.

Speaker 3 (23:31):
Scrifice you know what's funny IS i didn't know the
truth of herratitude in that moment until two weeks ago
when the episode aired AND i saw the tape right the,
story the version of the story THAT i was told was, like,
oh you, KNOW i was trying To this is From
olivia the morning.

Speaker 4 (23:50):
After, Oh i'm trying to.

Speaker 3 (23:52):
Make ashley feel, better and the house is using SOMETHING
i said against me and they're taking it a different.

Speaker 4 (23:59):
WAY i didn't mean it as throw you.

Speaker 3 (24:01):
IN i just meant it as this general AMBIGUOUS i
wouldn't mind being a hangoutlist thought the worst thing, ever,
Right and now they're trying to frame it and make
it seem LIKE i want you to go. In And
i'm sitting here listening to, this And i'm trying to
give her the benefit of the doubt because you, know,
again one of the big reasons WHY i selected her was, Like,
okay she's the head of the house at the Moment johnny's.

(24:22):
Gone there's nothing contesting her at the, moment and her
self preservation INSTINCTS i thought would kick and to overdrive
because she would have assumed people are gonna maybe try
and take, shots people are gonna try now That i'm
the only queen left on the, table get me off the.
Board and SO i assumed that that self preservation would exclude,
me and that shield would envelop me for at least that.

(24:43):
Week because again her AND i weren't working, together AND
i don't believe she owes me.

Speaker 4 (24:48):
Anything, Right it's not like we were. Friends it's not
like we were.

Speaker 3 (24:51):
Allies BUT i just thought, Like, hey what happens to
me this, week happens to. You therefore it's in your
best interest to insulate me from whatever hail fire hailstorm
is going to be. Coming AND i didn't realize that
she was going to use that against me and be, like, look,
hey whatever hurts, you actually only hurts you BECAUSE i

(25:12):
don't give a shit AND i have enough confidence in
my social capital to not go in even IF i
was a.

Speaker 4 (25:18):
Hango, right that was her. Attitude that's the truth of.
It and SO i a rookie move on my.

Speaker 3 (25:24):
Part feeling, safe feeling complacent that her self preservation would
include me in her. Consideration exactly the, opposite and it
did pan out for, Her but she had to really earn.
THAT i, mean it backfired in the sense that she
went down to the. Sands SO i don't know if
she could redo that. MOMENT i think she would have
done it a little bit, differently but. Smart it was

(25:44):
smart from, HER i agree.

Speaker 2 (25:46):
Completely and what made it worse was what you were
taking out by one of the PEOPLE i hate the
most in this challenge.

Speaker 1 (25:53):
Universe oh, no.

Speaker 2 (25:57):
After the Only jewish guy on a challenge and he
Said sophist works with through post drag. Race he said
he could have acted like that ON a thirty, nine
AND i was, like how dare? You AND i would
have give him the birdie in the. FACE i, would but, damn,
yeah that's how angry he makes.

Speaker 4 (26:14):
Me SO i don't know the context of that.

Speaker 3 (26:19):
SITUATION i can only speak for my relationship with him
and the direct Interactions i've, had which you, know even
though he did send me, HOME i will say he's
always been very kind to, me AND i don't hold
anything too much against him for lighting me the fuck
up at a hall. Bro BUT i Maybe i'll have
to look into the context of.

Speaker 1 (26:38):
That, Yeah i'm sorry about. That i'm sorry about.

Speaker 2 (26:41):
That but the thing, is this is gonna get interesting
when Challenged, mania because the thing IS i was ON
i would have loved to gone To.

Speaker 1 (26:47):
Arizona but, however the thing IS i would.

Speaker 2 (26:49):
Have weloaed do some stuff of My devo's playbook and doing.
Fingers but, however the thing is That mark would be.

Speaker 1 (26:57):
Furious with, me they might be.

Speaker 3 (26:59):
Fear But i'll tell you, What, jacob if you went
and did, that it would make my day because it'd
be hilarious AND i would enjoy the spectacle of you
Flipping derek.

Speaker 4 (27:07):
Off AND.

Speaker 2 (27:10):
I Think olivia might Be anthea BECAUSE i don't like
what he did with A pauli.

Speaker 4 (27:15):
M ah the hall brawl. Worry, yeah that was a brutal.
One that was a pretty good one FROM.

Speaker 1 (27:20):
Theo but the problem IS i, cannot but we cannot
enrage a pregnant.

Speaker 4 (27:24):
Lady, No AND i, mean now that you bring that,
up isn't it so?

Speaker 3 (27:28):
Impressive even more so that she's doing what she's doing
this season absolutely.

Speaker 1 (27:33):
Building the last time we've seen that Was melissa in total.

Speaker 3 (27:36):
Madness, yeah it's and that's a crazy season to be pregnant.
For that's one of the, bunker, Right, yeah that's fucking.
Insane she's pregnant for that. Season.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
Alrighty so here's the. THING i do Give olivia some
credit AND i did not AND i did not post
an angry tweet or angry response to, her but but
her And Jonathan potassium gave you your, flowers And olivia,
SAID i want to your tweet SAID i want to
see that attitude that you did on that video because
it broke my heart WHEN i watched, that AND i

(28:06):
sent you to a video to everyone to let you, know,
guys everyone, KNOW i, Said ben a video a very
private private messt On. Instagram because the thing, IS i
WHEN i saw the tweet AND i, SAID i have bad,
news AND i Said, jack AND i had A Jack
nicholson waving the arms of games like. No that broke
my heart because they and seeing you getting eliminated got
broke my. Heart because the thing, is your new, newbie

(28:27):
you represent a lot of podcasters' dreams and desires to
go into the, game and you held your. Own you
took out one of the most powerful alumni of all
time names of the show and helped took Out but
like the thing, is you did you made yourself and
you made a great impression on, everybody and a lot
of people really want you.

Speaker 3 (28:47):
BACK i really appreciate THAT i posted that, video you,
know to to just you, know give a bit of
a peek behind the curtain into how it felt to
get eliminated and go through a really frustrating chapter that
Now i've got to relive so many months, later and you,
know the big theme for me again this season was

(29:09):
LIKE i JUST i really wanted to show up and
perform and do. Well AND i don't, know there's this
element of like making everybody proud to your, point Like
i'm the average guy in The.

Speaker 4 (29:20):
Olympics how cool would it be to get a gold?

Speaker 2 (29:22):
Medal?

Speaker 3 (29:23):
Right and the fact THAT i couldn't do that and
especially came up so short and an elimination and an
event THAT i feel was best for, me almost like
with my combat sports, BACKGROUND i should have done a
billion different things in that Hall bra IF i could redo.

Speaker 4 (29:38):
It you, KNOW i would have tripped.

Speaker 3 (29:40):
HIM i would have LIKE i would have thrown the
football on the fucking, ground wrapped his neck up in a,
guillotine choked him, unconscious and then continue to run past
them because, LOOK i, mean like here's.

Speaker 4 (29:49):
The here's the. Reality they wouldn't be able to stop.

Speaker 3 (29:52):
Me they the time it would take for them to
get into That oppenheimer and remove. Me i'm, Sorry i've
already got the football and the, bat And derek is
you Know? Dad so, no there's just so many THINGS i.

Speaker 4 (30:04):
WISH i could do. Differently BUT i love how these
communities embraced.

Speaker 3 (30:09):
Me and you, know there is obviously some extreme thoughts
and opinions on all, sides which everyone is totally entitled.
TO i don't, condone you, know any harassment or. Toxicity
that's a different. Story but, like, look people like, me dislike.
ME i embrace all of it BECAUSE i want everyone
to feel how they want to, feel and ALL i
can do is project me the most authentic version of.

(30:31):
Me AND i don't, KNOW i think that it's been
a breadth of fresh air because when combat, sports you,
know WITH mma and, boxing that world is so homophobic
and so bigoted and problematic in so many degrees that
operate against my personal. Beliefs that, man there's weeks WHERE
i just am On twitter trying to do my, job
trying to go to an event and call, shit and it's.

(30:52):
Frustrating it's frustrating to be around people like. That and
with The challenge, COMMUNITY i feel the exact.

Speaker 2 (30:57):
Opposite and believe, me this is the same When i'm
around with The jewish community and there's a lot of
people that throw a lot of Anti semitism at. Me,
yeah so it's it's And i'm proud to say. This
you stay in your. Ground you are amazing and you,
People you're one of the people my COLLEAGUES i look
to when it comes like, okay CAN i do? This
and CAN i what's the best path back to? Haters

(31:19):
or IF i don't have, ONE i can always block.

Speaker 3 (31:22):
The block buttons a true gift from the. Gods i'll
tell you THAT i have no qualms about hitting THE
bb on some people because you, know, LOOK i think
that to some, extent if a person is using a
burner or something to just dog you and harass every
single post and be, cruel it's not worth my.

Speaker 4 (31:42):
Vision you. Know most like most, HATE i don't because you,
Know i've been in this game for a little.

Speaker 3 (31:47):
Bit with combat, sports you grow thicker, skin you get
used to, it you can allow it to fall off
the shoulders a. Bit but you know there's days where it's, like,
Look i'm fucking sick of getting this. Bullshit you, know
so block gone not my never have to deal with.
It and for people that want to like reframe getting
blocked to some, win some. VICTORY i beat that guy
so bad that he had to block. Me that's, pathetic

(32:10):
basement dwelling childlike. Behaviors so for people that want to
see blocking getting blocked as a, win, man go rethink some.

Speaker 4 (32:18):
Shit go look in the fucking.

Speaker 2 (32:19):
Mirror he completely especially some. CHALLENGERS i Eat jimmy and
Then i'll tell you about that story. Later but, however
the thing, IS i love that episode With lecca AND
i nearly CALL i.

Speaker 1 (32:31):
WON i was On polly's.

Speaker 2 (32:33):
Train as you, Know polly Cal fiury has been calling
out that that's for not doing, that AND i THINK
i said, it and a lot of people were, shocked
including some of my friends Like pages most, likely and
they were shocked And beth And beth even said that as,
well starting wait a, Minute, jacob what are you doing.

Speaker 1 (32:49):
That the thing, is WHEN i saw that WITH ct and.

Speaker 2 (32:52):
How they Threw leca one another one of my, PICKS
i was literally, angry, saying oh my, GOD, ct you
need to.

Speaker 1 (32:58):
Go polly was, right you need to go on a.

Speaker 3 (33:00):
Six it's it's so tricky BECAUSE i don't think there
is much credence to the crowd that BELIEVES ct through that.
CHALLENGE i do think he tried his, best but he's
not in the physical place to do.

Speaker 4 (33:16):
It he's forty.

Speaker 3 (33:16):
Five his knees are in rough, shape and he's got
trauma AND ptsd from season.

Speaker 4 (33:23):
Forty that's.

Speaker 3 (33:23):
Valid, Like i'm not going to minimize or discount it
IF ct is looking up a thirty foot ladder that's
swinging side to, side As leka told us and go,
Man i've got a family back home AND i got
hospitalized last season doing some shit exactly like. This, now
it's so unfortunate that that came at the expense Of.
LEKA i wish that that only AFFECTED ct and only

(33:45):
impacted his, game Because leka didn't deserve to get sandbagged
in that. Fashion but, look CT's thrown challenges, before and
when he, does it's a coordinated. Effort there's multiple people
in on, it and he does it in a very obvious,
way and he'll own up to it in the confect.

Speaker 4 (34:00):
Right so for the people that are, like, OH ct threw,
It i'm, like if he threw, it he.

Speaker 3 (34:06):
Would have done it a different way probably and he
would have been more accountable towards.

Speaker 4 (34:09):
It SO i don't.

Speaker 3 (34:10):
Know he got to give The goats some, love BUT
i AGREE i think that maybe flagship runs should only
be reserved if he comes in good. Shape and he
doesn't show up to the house thinking it's a fat, camp, like,
bro do your fat camp before the season starts and
then come in ready to, rumble because, yeah it's a
spot that could have gone to ANOTHER, vet and it's

(34:30):
a new threat that didn't have to Get sam bag
down and sent.

Speaker 2 (34:33):
Home oh my, god speaking of threats From, VE'S i
would love to see there's a couple of PEOPLE i
would love to see you go up against my Friend Jay,
STARTZ i Will polly another, One John brennan From era,
One brad for your in, set The Great Jordan, wisely
The Great Frank, sweeney Fox.

Speaker 3 (34:51):
Man all those, Names, jacob all those names are amazing,
competitors people that would be an honor and a pleasure
to play. With NOW i can't guarantee which SIDES i
would be on out of that grouping of, people but you,
know getting to see firsthand in Person jordan work And
jordan be the beast that he, is would just be
awesome to. See And, BRAD i, Mean brad's a. Tank

(35:13):
Like brad is such a it's almost A turbo esque
level of.

Speaker 1 (35:16):
Monster.

Speaker 3 (35:17):
Right that's that's in the. House so any of them
would be tons of fun to play.

Speaker 2 (35:21):
With, okay so you're going to experience it first after this,
recording you are heading To Challenge Menia, Phoenix, arizona where
you get to See, Javez olivia AND theo and also

to the most for your First Challenge?

Speaker 4 (35:40):
Media, Man i'm so excited to just be able to.

Speaker 3 (35:46):
Not not you, know not call Out Derek olivia and
that whole crew for how it went, down because AGAIN
i agree with the moves that they, made but interacting
with them in that, ENVIRONMENT i think it's going to
be really really. Spectacular and seeing you, know The challenge
fans that are here In phoenix and being able to
talk and communicate with them and honestly just be appreciative

(36:06):
for how they've tuned into the season and how they've
been engaged.

Speaker 4 (36:10):
Online and you, know y'all are the lifeblood of this.

Speaker 3 (36:12):
Show whether some cast members want to agree with that or,
NOT i think that if there's no social media buzz about,
something if there's no pop culture, impact then you know
it's it's a big.

Speaker 4 (36:21):
Negative and you guys keep the sales.

Speaker 3 (36:23):
Alive so being able to just express, THAT i think
to the people here In phoenix is is What i'm
most looking forward.

partner in crime of mine since twenty twenty, three and
when this opportunity came, UP i expressed to him many times, like,
LOOK i think now's the. TIME i think this is
the perfect way for us to create a sandbox that

(37:27):
we can play in creatively and find content that's engaging
for us and, fans and it's JUST i, mean it's
it's really cool that people have latched onto it and
supported in the fashion that they. Have so for, sure
go hit up the DN r That Do Not resistate.
