In every year year I do my best episode, so

about music. So I picked out fifteen of my favorite
albums that I loved listening to this year. They include
Arbus Streisand's The Secret of Life's Lying Too, Colem Scott's
(01:19):
Avanaar Sierra Ceci Chancellor, Rapper, Starline, Elton John and Brandy Carliles,
who believes in Angels, Hailstorms, Everese Hi Ams, I Quit,
Lady Guy, Guys Mayhem, Michael Lazar's day Dreaming EP, Morgan
Wallins I'm the Problem, Selena Gomez and Benny Blancos I
(01:41):
said I Love You First, Toby Gadd's Piano Diaris Christmas Weekends,
Hurry Up Tomorrow, Zara Larson's Midnight Sun, and finally Zap
Brown Band's Love and Fear Moving on to my songs.
If you are on Spotify, which are podcast is on
type in Jake's Takes with Jacob Ellishar's Top forty Songs
(02:05):
of twenty twenty five, you'll find a new playlist so
you can play for holidays. I can play on holidays
and also if you want to reminisce upon the year.
So I have selected some of the songs that are
on this playlist and if you want the full playlist,
head to Jake's That's Shake dot Com search Jake's Takes
Top forty Songs of twenty twenty five. We have Alexander
(02:30):
Jean's Item Dance, Sir Andrew Lloyd Webbert and Adam Lambers
Heaven on their Minds, Bad Bunnies, Nueva Yo Lake Shelton's
Let Him In Anyway. One of the best two weets
I have ever read listen to this year was Calum
Scott and Whitney Houston's cover up, I want to Dance
with Somebody. Also love Sierra and Lato's This Right Here.
(02:54):
Cynthia Arrivo destroyed and did an excellent job with No
Good Deed and with It for Good. Drake Milligan had Tumbleweed.
Elton john and Brady Carlile's Little Original Bible was one
of the best rockabilly songs I have ever heard, and
I loved Hailstorm's Darkness Always Wins. Jessica Simpson really surprised
(03:15):
me with her with her original Country original used my
Heart against Me. Lady Gaga's Abrica Dabo was in my
head for almost the majority of year, and Laura Brian
is Blue. Jane Crazy is the perfect fourth of July anthem.
Michael Lazar was daydreaming, and I love that Miley Cyrus
reunited Lindsay Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood with Secrets, which is
(03:38):
a song that she dedicated to her father, Delly Ray.
You also had Miranda Lambert and Chris Ampleton's a Song
to Sing, Tim Johnson's Fly Girl, My Freend fris Since
take You Dancing Way, Jennings, take this Hand and You've All.
Raphael's powerful Eurovision anthem New Day will rise. So moving on,
(04:00):
we got we Gotta Talk about God. Talent was one
of my favorite shows this year. The opportunity to watch
Anny watch AAGT for twentieth anniversary season, the ability to
interview go to watch BGT on YouTube and CGG on YouTube,
and also have the opportunity to interview several CGT acts
(04:20):
thanks to my friends over at City TV. So I
have the top ten Golden Buzzer moments of the year.
So a number one coming in at number one is
Stacey Ledbetter. She did her with her powerful cover Leona
Lewis's run with that was on BGT and she was
gave the Golden Buzzer by KSI who will be joining
(04:43):
the show for next series and she was a finalist.
Moving on, we have at number two Jordan Blue on AGT.
He was Howdie Mandell's first Golden buzzer and he was
the runner up of season twenty. Coming in at number three,
we have Jacob Lewis, my friend Jacob Lewis, who is
one who received two Golden buzzers this year on CGT
(05:06):
and it was Shania Twain and the other one was
a group Golden Buzzer that happened during the judgment rounds
and rounding up and he was also he's also won CGG.
Number four was Jessica Sanchez who finally made her reality
TV return on AGT and received Sophie Sophia Burgard's second
(05:26):
Golden buzzer and she won season twenty when. Coming in
at number five was Lightwire, one of my favorite acts
from AGT. They received Simon Cowell's first Golden buzzer this
season and they were also came in a fifth place.
Moving on, we have Matt Fox and his BGT audition
was absolutely unbelievable and he received a Man of Holand's
(05:46):
second Golden buzzer. She broke the rules and delivered up.
I'm so happy for him because he went from audustity
and the audience to perform Me My Way in to
receiving a Man of Poland's second blue buzzer that was
still unbelievable. He was a semi finalist on the previous
season previous series of Britain Scott Talent. Moving on, we
had the Massaani Brothers. They received not one, but two
(06:08):
Golden buzzers this year. This time the brothers performed as
a duo and they got received Melby's first Golden Buzzer
and they made it to the quarter finals in that one.
Then they were on Francis Scott Talent later on this
year and we received the host Kareeine Lama Shans Golden
Buzzer and they were in a semi finals. Moving on,
we had the blackots Wee British Got Talent History. We
(06:32):
received not one but two Golden Buzzers, one from the
Group Golden Buzzer and the other one was a man
of Holten's Live semi final Golden Buzzer and they were
able to take them second place. I really wish they
won that series. Moving on, we got Friends of the
podcast Funky Verse was CGT and they were two group
Golden Buzzer recipients. One during the auditions with Shania Twain,
(06:55):
the other one was Catherine Cowie and Cardi Plusant during
the deliberations, a name took home third place of CGT.
And last, certainly not least, we have Carson Birmingham. He
was made into the Goal. He's a singer and he's
a finalist on this past season of Penna Scott Talent
and Cardinal Offishal had his Golden Buzzard well, return right
(07:20):
after this and we are back everybody. So moving on
(07:56):
with our best twenty twenty five episode I got to
talk about and there was a lot of and I've
noticed that I watched a lot more streaming this year.
I think everybody has. So here are ten series that
I was watching and their streaming subscription service. We had
season two of The American Sweethearts Dallas Cowway Cheerleaders, which
(08:17):
I gotta say is I am totally in awe of
those cheerleaders. They need to be before have better wages,
and I'm really am glad they're getting the respect of deserve.
Moving on, we had the incredible American military dramatity Boots
on Netflix. This had exceptional performances from Miles Hezer who
(08:40):
played Camera Cope and Max Parker, who was Sergeant Liam
Robert Sulivan. I really believe that those guys should have
gotten some award or recognition because those performances were phenomenal.
And I'm also sad to learn that that show a
Netflix has been cancer A canceled that show. I think
there they could have done more with it because there's
(09:02):
so many stories that were left on table, especially spoil alert.
They were about ready to enter the golf. Four. Moving on,
we had Dancing with the Stars Disney Plus. I watched
it on Disney Plus. It was much better to watch
it and watch me on Gable and it was really
exciting to see Robert Irwin win and I got to
say that cast alone revived my love of dancing because
(09:24):
I was away from Dancing with the Stars for a
number of years. This was actually the first season that
I watched halfway through. I got through because when Tom
Berghan was announced that he was returning to Judge, I
got into it and I watched from the twentieth anniversary
show all the way to the finale. And but I've
been following them on social media and this cast was entertaining.
(09:45):
If Dancing with the Stars does go back to a
two night format and also does an all stars two format,
I could see what I could see, like three or
four celebrities return. They were so good. I got to
say alex Earl, Elaine Hedricks, Robert and Dylan Ephron would
be fun to see again. I also would add Jordan
(10:07):
Childs to the mix as well. Next we had Dared
Evil Born Again. This was Daredevil's return to Disney Plus.
It was so great to see Charlie Cox back as
Dareduvile and not to mention, see Vincent Diefano play Mayor
Wilson Fix and I got to see Vincent at Planet
(10:27):
Comic Con this year. We got Who's Going on Instagram?
He was aled to meet and I really hope that
they used the King Penn. Moving forward in the MCU,
then we had the controversial fit for TV, the Reality
of Biggest Loser that was aired on Netflix, and then
we went back to Disney Plus for Marvel Zombies, and
I loved the surprise of having Elizabeth Olsen reprised her
(10:51):
role as the Scarlet Witch and Wanda, even though it
was zombified version. I was so grateful we got to
have Elizabeth Olson back in mc YOU. Moving on, we
had the over Compensating, which was on Prime Video, and
I would say that the Benito Skinner hit it all,
hit it the head, hit it out of the park,
(11:14):
and I got and that and reported that he is
he and this cast of the College comedy is in
works for season two. I really hope they ended season
one on a very shocking note and I really hope
they bring it back with stronger all Right, Moving on,
we had the Colin Josh Popcloch to Jeopardy, which is amazing. Hey,
(11:36):
if there's a single version of seeing the player version
of us, I'd be happy to enter. Moving on, we
had The Residents, which was on Netflix, and I love
Uzo Aduba's portrayal of Portilla Cup And this was sadly
the last project Jean Man, who portrayed Australian Prime Minister
Stephen Roots as past wait earlier this year. And also
(11:56):
but sadly that Yahoo reported that Netflix canceled, and I
gotta say, Netflix, seriously, why are you making these stupid decisions.
You have enough money about Warner Brothers Discovery, so come on,
reconsider reversing the decisions. I would watch them. Finally, we
have the Free Chose Us version that's on Peacock. There
(12:19):
were several breakout stars for season three, but mostly Tom
Standibal who had his redemption arc and Dylan Evron, who
went on to not just win the show went over
to Dancing with the Stars. Then we have to Rinda Medley,
who was the first murdered to buy these season three traders.
The Shield will be back competing on season four. Now
(12:41):
let's talk about the podcast. So there's so many incredible
interviews and I had this year. But I gotta say this,
I have chosen some OnCore podcasts or interviews that or
they can see on Netflix and throughout social media. I
wish it was on Netflix. I'm putting out their Netflix
take Stake to thebout your podcasts would be great over
(13:02):
for this for you. Anyway, back to the podcast, so
I picked out the best podcast for you to listen
to while I'm away from Jane until January first wrote
our four hundredth episode. So I recommend you go back
and listen to my conversation with Pere McCall and both
part one and Part two of my conversation with the
(13:24):
Challenge champion Joami Heichael. Also go back to listen to
my conversation with three times Tony winning Grant No. Three
time Grammy winning songwor and producer Toby Gatt, and then
two time Emmy winner with Mike Manning. I gotta say
the best fun I had collaborating was with my friend
Marcus Jay Anthony, who hosts Elite MJ, a Pokemon YouTube channel.
(13:50):
It's up to twenty seven thousand subscribers on YouTube, and
I loved interviewing new Z, so please go back and listen.
I have some love speaking with Adie Band and Laura Brina,
and also shout out to my friend Ben Abadan Davis
because he's also my best of and also my older
brother in podcasting. Scott Jeger and Mark Long who graciously
(14:12):
came on for the three hundred and seventy fifth episode
of this podcast. It means the world that both meant
took time on their schedules to meet with me. One
of the most moving conversations I had was with Eval
da Vide and I think it was a great conversation,
especially with all the stuff that's been going on with
the rise of Anti sevenis Amanda Zionism. I encourage you
all listen to it. In rounding it up as my
(14:35):
conversation with Tim Johnson Junior and the voice of Robe herself,
leonor Zon. Now moving on, we have the most top
downloaded episode of the year, So congratulations to task Master
UK's Craig Davies and Alex Horn, the Challenge champion, Earmi
(14:55):
Heikeel's two appearances ward number two, then followed by any
whe After, Mike Manning making his debut, and Scott and
Mark with number three seventy five. Moving on at number five,
we had Yuvale David number six, we had Canna's Got
Talent winner and two times Golden Buzzers a Vietnam Jacob Lewis.
Moving on, we have my friend Oscar Shark, who revealed
(15:17):
that he was in charge of Rookie Revolution earlier this
year and also he's a great actor. We also had
Tony Manter talk about previous upcoming fiftieth anniversary and number
fourty industry, and also I loved hearing about his story
about the Why Not Me podcasts. Moving on, we had
the incredible legendary award winning journalist Jane Eisner, and I
(15:38):
loved hearing about her interview with Live Interview that you
did with the Writy Miss Ruth Bader Ginsberg and hearing
more about her biography of Carol King. And running up
with number ten is record is an armn. Tom Surges,
who wrote his book Men, explained finally, now we had
a lot of listeners this year shout up. However, these
(16:01):
top ten countries had the most episodes listened to. They
are congratulations to my home country, the United States of America.
They came in number one, moving on. We have the Philippines,
one of my favorite places to visit in to study Broaden.
The United Kingdom was at number three. My friends are
friends up North. Canada came in number four. My friends
(16:22):
in Australia were you Prengratulations, guys, you made number five.
My friends in India you're at number six. Germany came
in number seven. Brands came in number eight, Brazil number nine,
and at number ten we have the Netherlands. So, guys,
this while this has been an incredible year, we have
(16:43):
lost a lot of incredible people who made a huge
impact on pop culture. They are Alan Bergman, Ananta Lewis,
Andrew Stone, Chefan Burrell, The Fagus, Anthony Gury, Brian Wilson,
Denise Alexander, Diane Keaton, Gene Hackman, George Foreman, George Wentz,
(17:05):
Bull Logan, James Cardle, Cathart, Jim Shooter, Julian McMahon, Leslie Charleston,
Loretta Switt, Malcolm, Jamal Warner, Michelle Trackenberg, Ozzy Osbourne, Peter Yarrow,
Rob Reiner, Ruth Buzzy, Ryan whit Maloney, Sam Moore, sly Stone,
(17:28):
Kristen Rogers, Val Chandler Wheat, and Week Margrendale are some
of the twenty nine celebrities that we lost this year.
And I also want to pay my deepest condolences to
my fellow Kansas City and Sarah Miligram and her boyfriend
Jogan Lizzinsky were fairly shot in Washington see at the
Capval Jewish Museum and the fifteen people who were massacred
(17:50):
at Hanukkah event at Bonnie Beach in Sydney, Australia. I
wish that the Miligram family, the Lechinsky family and all
the family and the friends six teen of the fifteen
people who were mess occurred in Australia, peace, hope, bears
lights and and made their memories be a blessing. Oh already, guys,
(18:17):
it's twenty twenty six, so season seven the podcast. I
cannot believe that we made it to season season seven,
and we have some exciting news, including the fifteenth anniversary
celebration of the Jake's Sake with Jacob eisharp Brand. So
here are some of the conversations that will be that
(18:38):
will be featured during the fifteenth anniversary celebration.
Speaker 2 (18:45):
Well, you know, here's the thing, like for Vess and
New Threats, I like to go back to like World World.
Speaker 3 (18:52):
One, when it was a similar situation where half past
showing up is new and who was representing the veterans
at that time. You had a much younger Johnny Bananas,
you had a much younger CT, a much younger Leroy,
you know, you had Zach, you had myself. You know,
these were some heavy hitters on the men's side in
(19:12):
order to make sure that they could compete, right, so
when you had people like THEO come in, Turbo come in,
Ashley Kane came in, and you know, they were targeting
the veterans.
Speaker 1 (19:22):
Yeah, they may have been able to send us up.
Speaker 2 (19:24):
Sorry, West was also part of that lineup on ward
of the World's One. You know, they may have been
able to send home Bananas STP, but they couldn't get
through all of the vets without us, you know, taking
it to them.
Speaker 4 (19:39):
You know.
Speaker 2 (19:39):
So I just felt like the veteran representation was a
little bit lackluster on this one because it's almost like,
you know, you're bringing in these new threats and you're
stacking the cast with like really old people, and you know,
the future of the show depends on people buying into
the future.
Speaker 1 (20:00):
The show.
Speaker 2 (20:00):
And I'm sorry, but these guys who are older, you know,
with the exception of you know, Bananas, who's still coming
in in shape and you know, focusing on his appearance
and you know, like making a good show and he's
still able to compete. You know, like who's going to
want to tune in to see like these old people
compete like they don't, they really don't. And and you know,
(20:22):
in the future of the show is not going to
survive off of the older generation of people who have
watched the show for years. It's going to survive off
of new people wanting to watch it. I mean, like
Love Island is watched by everybody, but it's really watched
by a lot of young people.
Speaker 4 (20:39):
You know.
Speaker 1 (20:39):
Same with Big Brothers, same with Survivor.
Speaker 2 (20:41):
Like you have a small demographic of like the older people,
you know, but I kind of feel like we need
to start getting rid of these older bets who aren't
coming in in shape, They're not coming in to entertainment.
They're just overpaid and you know, they're they're they're eating
up too much of the budget, you know what I mean.
And you know me in the future, and you know,
(21:01):
like if you're a football team trying to invest in
a quarterback. You're looking to draft a really young, good
quarterback that maybe has five, ten, fifteen years with the franchise.
You know, you're not gonna, like, even though there's some
great quarterbacks who make it later on in life, like,
you're not gonna, you know, sign Tom Brady for like
a ten year extension when he's forty. You know, he's
(21:24):
not going to play until he's fifty, right, You'll sign
him on a year to year basis, but you know
he's going to retire at some point. And I think
a lot of the vets need.
Speaker 5 (21:31):
To happen, you know. I I tell people very often
that MTV was what TikTok is today. I mean the
relevance and just the viralness of it. You know, people
are scrolling on their phones now, but they used to
scroll on their cable box and they would always land
(21:51):
on MTV and they would stay there, and that was
dictating what was hip in you know, in culture, with music,
with fashion and with everything. So I think it's an
end of an era, but it's the beginning of a
new era and we should just embrace it and say, hey,
MTV was great, But you know, it's like it's like
our parents. They thought Elvis was great, and that was
(22:13):
you know, there was an end of that era. Elvis
would not be super cool today, and then the way
we knew it is not super cool today. So it's
just evolving.
Speaker 1 (22:24):
And I could see that CBS move to CBS as well,
because that would be more a way and that would
be able to get like I know they had maybe
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 6 (22:34):
You know, I have realized that I am enough, which
is great. I don't I don't need to and I
don't need to add anything extra because I feel like
I'm missing something. I'm not missing anything.
Speaker 1 (22:51):
I am one hundred percent enough.
Speaker 6 (22:53):
I've paid enough dues, I've sung all over the world.
I've I have seven i am dB credits and it's
not over, it's not done, but I know that I
have enough to be certified bonafide qualified.
Speaker 1 (23:11):
How about that. I will take that. And seriously, seventy
IMDb credits. Not a lot of performers have that opportunity
to have at least one, but you have seventy seventy.
Speaker 6 (23:25):
And I amassed that in about fourteen.
Speaker 1 (23:28):
Years actually, which is a lot. Yeah, I'm proud of
I did when all the way that they did everything
was just particular. And also with revival, because the thing
is with three twenty awards, including for Best Revival and
Best for Ronical Searching and also Draw and Drama Desk Award. So,
in your humble opinion, how did sun Set, this rival
(23:51):
of sense of Bolivard make it impact on Brama?
Speaker 7 (23:54):
I think, you know, because I think Sunset was an event.
I think that's the difference. So people came to so
Scept Boulevard to see an event that people got excited for.
You know, there's always social media. Buzz always helps if
you if for your listeners and viewers who have heard
about our show and how we did our Top of
Back two. Every night Tom Francis, the actor who played
(24:15):
Joe Gillis, would actually do a walk through the streets
of New York City as part of the opening number
for Act two. So it was an amazing thing.
Speaker 5 (24:23):
It built buzz.
Speaker 7 (24:24):
It was sixty It took sixty five people every night
to pull off this six minute the six minute walk
through New York City. So the Saint James Theater is
on West forty fourth Street and Tom would walk down
the street to what is called Schubert Alley. He would
basically turn around and then walk back, and the whole
thing was reported live every night, and you know, again
it became very buzzworthy. So it became an event that
(24:47):
people got excited for, and you know, people like seeing
things that are different and things that are buzzy, and
you know, sometimes people just go to things because everyone
else wants to see it, and you know, in some
ways that's what happened with Sunset. But it was still
a fantastic But you know, word of mouth, word of
mouth and social media these days for theater are the
two biggest things that drive ticket sales, and I don't
even argue social media is bigger than that. So we
(25:09):
had people every night taking videos of Tom doing his
Sunset walk and just got people excited to see the production.
It was definitely more of an event in my opinion
than are really a musical.
Speaker 1 (25:20):
I gotta say this, It was an event, and I
don't think a lot of events with this decade, especially
after the pandemic and everything, there's not a lot of
events that go there. Like I remember with Michael Jackson's
The Musical when I saw with Miles Frost, that was
an event Sunset boulevards to the event. There are only
two events. On October seventh, twenty twenty three, we witnessed
(25:43):
the deadliest attack against the Jewish people since the Holocaust.
This has led to a shocking rise and anti Jewish
hatren in person and online. What have been some of
the strategies that you have used to have conversations stop
anti sevens and if design is instractors.
Speaker 4 (26:05):
That's a very good question. I generally try to just
explain the history of anti Semitism itself, because it's kind
of the same playbook. The people that don't like us,
it's kind of the same playbook. I mean, manifests in
different ways. Obviously, now we have social media and all
these different sort of avenues of connectivity and information being spread.
(26:28):
But I try to explain the history and try to
explain that this is what has happened every single time.
The only difference now being we have Israel. You know,
in the past, we just didn't have a nation for
you know, a thousand years. But yeah, I really just
try to explain the history, explain the context, explain and
just humanize us as people like, look, you're talking to
(26:50):
me a Jewish person.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
Do you think these things about me, like you know me.
Speaker 4 (26:55):
I guess it's someone that I've known before, and those
are real conversations I've had, and also really trying to explain,
like you understand that we are fifteen million people out
of eight billion people in the world. Naturally, logically that
means we are less likely to be heard than whoever
amount of people are speaking of, you know, against us.
(27:17):
So those are some I guess go to sort of
points I try to bring up.
Speaker 8 (27:22):
Being a lot of today and so it's not a
writer a love thing. And again, ravo to you for
calling people out, especially the celebrities. I think that's great.
And again I don't care what you think about a
celebrity's political standpoint, or their acting skills or lack thereof,
or any performer.
Speaker 1 (27:42):
I don't care about that.
Speaker 8 (27:43):
What I care about is that these people are standing
up for Jewish hate, and the questions should be why.
Speaker 1 (27:47):
Aren't alrighty, everybody said, those are some of the conversations
you have looking you have to look forward to in
twenty twenty six, and.
Speaker 9 (28:00):
All I want to say it were friends over at
Sorry about that, everybody. We are looking forward to having
a lot of different fun and exciting excitement for the
fifteenth anniversary season. I'm very excited about all the different things,
(28:22):
including a Ga returning.
Speaker 1 (28:27):

very excited about the Mass Singer coming back. I'm so
excited about that. But however, it is for the first
time ever. We are going to do the Mass Singer
