(00:04):
Hello, and welcome to Jamie's Club. I'm Jamie and this is the dreaded
episode zero, the introduction to thepodcast. And I think I'm just here
to tell you a little bit aboutme and about what I'm planning on doing.
And I was employed in media fora lot of years, and I
ended up getting really burnt out,I guess, by all of the politics
(00:28):
and dealing with the management and alot of the stuff that goes on behind
the scenes that really makes what shouldbe a fantastic job not as fun as
it looks from the outside. SoI've taken some time off and been enjoying
life and doing some different things, exploring different areas of life. And I
(00:50):
was talking with a producer friend ofmine who said, do you miss it?
He asked me if I miss beingin media, and I said,
well, I don't miss some ofit. There's plenty of it that I
don't miss, but there are parts, and I think the parts that I
miss being on air talking with people, communicating and sharing ideas. And he
(01:12):
said, why don't you just doa podcast and then you can do all
of the bits that you like withoutthe bits that you don't like. And
I just went Yeah, that's actuallya really good idea. So I've got
the opportunity with this podcast to exploreideas and concepts that are of interest to
(01:37):
me and to speak to people thathave interesting stories, interesting experiences. And
let's see. The first first guestI've got lined up his a psychic medium.
His name is Luke Patrick, andI really want to know about I
guess from the medium point of view, what's it like to be dead?
(02:00):
Our ghosts everywhere, our graveyards justlousy with them, A ghosts all over
that, and when we're in theshower I gest watching us. That's just
what the kind of things that Ithink about. Also, I'll be speaking
with a good friend of mine who'san author, Josh Langley. So looking
(02:21):
forward to catching up with this guy. It's been a lot of years since
I've talked with him, and hewas working a nine to five job and
then one day when Buggeret chucked inhis job and said I'm going to write
books. I am so interested inhow that transition takes place. Because we've
(02:43):
all got bills to pay, we'veall got rent, mortgages, we have
to buy food. How do youset yourself up where you could be in
a position to say no, I'mdone and just leave and do something else.
And maybe it's not being an authorfor you. Maybe it's about a
fantasy about leaving your job and beinga professional singer, a ballet dancer,
(03:10):
an artist of some kind, andhow do you go about that and what
are the ups and the downsides ofit. I guess that's the kind of
things that I'm interested in here.Also, I guess he's got a connection
to the supernatural stuff as well, because a couple of Josh's books were written
(03:32):
for adults and they are all abouthis search for evidence of the afterlife,
and that is just a topic thatis endlessly fascinating to me. But then
he went on to write kids books. So it's quite odd to me that
someone would start off writing about spookystuff and then just going yep, starting
(03:52):
off on kids books. Now.So look, I'm interested to speak to
him about his life, his ideas, his experiences, and I guess there's
advice on how the rest of uscan just do it, break out of
the rat race, breakout of thenine to five, and go follow our
dreams. Like that's the kind oftopic and the kind of stuff that I
want to know about, I wantto talk about and I want to share
(04:14):
with you. So I'm going tobe finding plenty more people with interesting stories,
interesting experiences and interesting points of viewto share with you here on Jamie's
Club. So if you get anopportunity, please do rate this the maximum
stars on the platform that you're listeningto, and if you could type in
a little review about why you likeit, that would help me. And
