Mike Marine coming after with another episode of jar Head Tactical.
Right now, Hi, I'm Mike the Marine with another important
jar Head Tactical podcast. Safe handling and safe storage of
firearms during dry fire practice, and we've been talking about that.
Safe handling tips. Practicing dry fire safely begins with discipline

(00:23):
firearm handling even when your rifle is unloaded. Number one.
Always treat the firearm as if it is loaded, even
during dry fire. Assume it's live. This mindset reinforces muscle
memory and builds safe habits. Number two visually and physically
check the chamber. Also, I usually put a chambergard in

(00:46):
there before every session. Open the action and confirm that
the firearm is completely unloaded. Do this twice. Use a
flashlight if needed. Number three use a designated dry fire direction.
Always point your firearm at a safe backdrop, brick wall,
full bookshelf, or similar barrier that can stop a projectile

(01:07):
in case of an accident. Number four use snapcaps or
dummy rounds. Please protect your firing pin and help stimulate
realistic cycling or malfunction drill. Number five. No ammunition in
the practice area whatsoever. Make sure it's locked up. People
alive ammunition in the separate room under lock and key.

(01:28):
This ensures zero chance of action loading during practice. Safe
storage guideline. Secure the firearm immediately after practice un finished.
Store the firearm in a locked, safe cabinet. This keeps
it out of reach from children or unauthorized individuals. Number two.

(01:49):
Store snapcaps separately. Even dummy rounds should be stored away
from real ammunition to avoid confusion. Number three trigger lock
or chamber flags for extra safety. I was talking about
trigger locks earlier. Use a trigger locked table buck or
chamber flag when storing to clearly signal the firearm is

(02:11):
not ready to fire. Routine storage checks. Number four. Regularly
check that your firearm is still properly secured and that
no unauthorized access is possible. Remember drive fire is an
excellent training tool, but it carries responsibility. Practice with intentions,

(02:32):
Store with caution, and you'll improve your marksmanship safely and effectively.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
