Speaker 1 (00:00):
I'm gonna be honest. We got Jason at the movies
on the phone. He has his podcast on iHeartRadio. He's
been in movies, he's been on TV, been everywhere, and
I'm I'm super jealous of you because some of the
photos you have with the biggest celebrities ever on your pages.
So good for you, Jason.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
I just say, I try to make it happen. I
try to make it happen. It doesn't always work, but
sometimes it does.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
Nine times out of ten, you make it happen though,
kind of like going to the movies. So I know
we've talked before about everything that's come to theaters. What's
new in theaters this weekend?

Speaker 2 (00:32):
Well, it's actually it's a pretty big weekend because we're
coming off of Sinners being so popular and making money
and Minecraft is steel out there. But now we've got
a Marvel movie, Thunderbolts, which is really more of a
sort of a b lift anti hero ragtag group of
heroes that we've seen in other Marvel movies, other Marvel

(00:52):
TV shows, and this time they're coming all together and
they've got to, you know, like every other Marvel movie,
save the world. It's got some rumor to it. It's
got a pretty good cast overall, it's getting really good reviews. Really,
I was kind of just blaw on it. Yeah. I
wouldn't say that I didn't like it. I wouldn't say
it's a bad movie. I'm just kind of indifferent about it.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
I think that's probably how I am, too, because haven't
they already made this movie with like Will Smith and
everything else, like the Sharpshooter or is that like a
whole different universe.

Speaker 2 (01:23):
Yeah, that's Suicide Squad and that is DC, so that
would be different. Yes, you're on the right track because
it's a similar idea, I guess. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Okay, And there's one that's coming to Prime, right.

Speaker 2 (01:38):
Yeah, so another simple Favor? This is this equal to
a simple Favor that came out a few years ago
starring Anna Kendrick and Blake Lively. There was kind of
some word that maybe they wouldn't put this out because
of all the Blake Lively scandal going on off camera. Yeah,
but instead they did put this one out. It is
going straight to Prime. It's a follow up where now

(01:59):
there's more or twists and turns. Emily is out of jail,
wants Stephanie to be her maid of honor and then
they go to Capri for her wedding, so more of
a caper, more crazy. I think they're trying a little
too hard with it. The thing that I kept thinking
about while I was watching is like it feels like
when somebody buys one of those murder Mystery dinners out

(02:21):
of a box and then has a birthday party where
everyone plays a role. It's kind of like that. Yeah,
so I did like it, but I didn't like it
near as much as I did the first.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
So Sinner's probably gonna make more money this weekend because
it's going to Imax, so I should probably see that
one first and then the others.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
I would always recommend seeing Sinners because it's the best
movie of the year, but Thunderbolts will probably be on
most the IMAX screens. And of course, you know, Minecraft
is still just chucking along.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
Oh you know what, who doesn't love a chicken jockey, right?

Speaker 2 (02:50):
Oh man? Apparently a lot of people do.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
If you ever want to know what's going on in
the movies, in TV, streaming, whatever, Jason the Movies says
a pot podcast on the iHeartRadio app, and we always
share it with you so you don't waste your money
over the weekend. So thanks a lot, Jason, Hey, you
got it.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
