Speaker 1 (00:00):
Jason at the Movies checks in with us every weekend
and tell you what you should stream or what should
you go see in theaters. He's got a popcorn meter
and everything else. So Jason, what's new in theaters this weekend?
If people should go or not go see?

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Probably the most notable relief this week is going to
beat Karate Kids Legends, which you know, I'm a huge
fan of the original movie. And then they did the
remake with Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan, which I was
vehemently opposed to, but then very surprisingly actually loved it.
Now they're really molding the two together, and they're saying,

(00:35):
all right, let's take Daniel Larussot's abun, who's Jackie Chan,
and let's have a whole new chapter in this franchise. Boy,
you know, I really wanted to like this one because
I loved the original so much, but I did not.
It was so predictable, it was so derivative. It was
really really pretty bad.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
So don't even buy the popcorn, don't go to this,
stay away from the theaters for Karate Kid Legends.

Speaker 2 (00:59):
It's only an hour to have, which I guess is
good news. But they also squeeze in about nine different
plots in that hour and a half. So yeah, I
would say probably avoid this one.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
I'm out, but I think the weekly horror movie we
got might be in my lane. Bring her Back, right.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
Yeah, bring her back. This is an Australian horror movie.
This is from the Guys that did Talk to Me,
which came out a couple of years ago, which actually
was a pretty big hit and amongst horror fans, you know,
people really liked it was really original. This one's also
getting really good reviews. It seems like maybe it's not
quite as good as Talk to Me, but still people
that like this type of genre are really going to
like this movie.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
See I'm in on that one. Or we can all
go see Leelo and Stitch the live action version again
right this weekend because Disney's killing with that one.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
Yeah, that's probably gonna be your box office winner over
the weekend. Again. So I haven't seen it yet. You've
got kids, especially, you probably want to go check it out.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
Well, you know I do, and you know we have
to go see it. So this is why we do
this For the podcast on iHeartRadio, you can check out
Jason at the Movies every week to find out, what
you should stream, what you should see on TV or
especially in theaters too, and this weekend sounds like a
bust if you're not gonna go see Lilo and Stitch,
So I guess we'll see you at the movie's Jason,
all right, you got it,

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
