Speaker 1 (00:00):
So it's the weekend, which means the movies hit theaters
are streaming, And we talked to Jason of the Movies
every Friday so we can find out if we should
stay home and watch something on streaming or actually hit
the theater. So Jason, what's new in theaters this weekend
or are we staying home to watch streaming.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Well, we've got a pretty big one this weekend in
terms of star power. Leonardo DiCaprio, I mean, he's the
biggest movie star in the world, has a new movie,
One Battle after Another, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. A
lot of people love him. Kind of a weird movie
to describe. Leonardo is part of this resistance fighter gang

(00:38):
that kind of gets broken up and he has to
flee with his daughter and then sixteen years later, his
nemesis played by Sean Penn, tries to come and find him.
It's a pretty wild, wild movie, but I loved it.
It's getting great reviews. I think we're probably going to
be talking about this around Awards season. Maybe not for everybody,
but really a cool movie.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
Yeah, it looks really cool. Well, Leonardo DiCaprio is good
in everything he does, but pretty much I haven't really
seen him in a scary movie. We got horror movies
this weekend because spooky season's coming.

Speaker 2 (01:09):
So The Strangers Chapter two comes out, well there is
there is this weekend, and the Strangers find out that
one of their victims is still alive. So of course
you know they're on a mission to try and go
get everybody getting just terrible, terrible reviews, so you know,
I know we're creeping towards uct to where people may

(01:31):
want a horror movie, but this one apparently not too good.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Yeah, stay away from that one. And then there's like
a family ish.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
One Gabby's Dollhouse the movie, which I'm not really familiar
with Gabby's Dollhouse, but this sounds pretty wild. I mean,
this girl, Gabby, she's on a road trip or dollhouse
gets stolen. She's got to get all of the Gabby
Cats together to try and go find it. You know,
who knows, but people love this kind of stuff. Good

(01:58):
kids movie. I guess something with the family.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
Yeah, I need to check it out with my daughter,
or that we're going to watch K Pop Demon Hunters
for the fifteenth time this weekend. I know it's everywhere,
but that's why we talk to you. Every Friday, we
find out what's in theaters or streaming, so you can
go ahead and not waste your money or actually hit
the theaters for the first time in a while.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
