Speaker 1 (00:00):
So every weekend we talked to Jason at the movies
about what's hit in theaters and then what happens behind
the scenes. So, Jason, you apparently almost got on Jimmy
Kimmel yesterday.

Speaker 2 (00:11):
Yeah, Jimmy Kimmel, I guess going a crew out. They
always cover the NBA Finals and so they were doing
some stuff outside of the arena in Oklahoma City, and
of course I saw a camera, ran straight to it
and they started asking me a bunch of questions, but
wanted me to put on some of the Pacers gear,
which I'm a thunderfan. I said, no way, I wouldn't

(00:32):
do it, and come to find out, it was just
a Jimmy Kimmel fit. So not going to make it
on air, but it was still kind of fun to
be a part of it.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
That sounds great. At least you're always in front of
the camera literally. So what's new in theaters this weekend?
Everybody should check out or not check out?

Speaker 2 (00:47):
Well, probably the biggest movie this weekend is going to
be within a universe that I know you and I
love that John Wick universe. It is Mall Arena. Yes, yes,
the new enad Armist movie. This takes place during John
Wick chapter three, and this is where Annada Armis is
being trained as an assassin, and so this takes you through,

(01:10):
you know, some of those traditions and things like that.
Getting some pretty good reviews. The action scenes are next level.
It's a little slow at the beginning, but overall, I
would say it is a worthy entrance into the John
Wick universe.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
Being there with John Wick fans, I know I'll be
in line at this. And there was a big thing
on TikTok about buying tickets early and stuff, so obviously
it's going to sell. But what else is in theaters?

Speaker 2 (01:33):
So also, Wes Anderson, big director, A lot of people
love him. He has his own quirks in his own
way of making movies. The Venetian Scheme is the latest
one of those huge cast from Venezio del Toro, Michael
Sarah or Tom Hanks. It's got a ton of people
in it. It's your typical Wes Anderson movie where if

(01:54):
you like that style, you like that look, and you
like that quirkiness, then you're going to like this. Also,
it is getting good reviews, but you know, Wes Anderson
has his fans and people outside of that don't always
love it, but if you're a west Enderson fan, you'll
probably like it.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
And the last movie is going to be like Jall's
twenty twenty five, right yeah, kind.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Of so dangerous Animals, this is an interesting twist. It
is about a surfer who gets abducted onto this boat. Okay,
well on the boat is a serial killer. But the
way he kills his victims is by feeding them to
the shark.

Speaker 1 (02:29):
So is he is the person guilty or not at
that point? I mean he just tosses them overboard.

Speaker 2 (02:34):
I'm just saying, yeah, right, he didn't. Hey, hey he
didn't kill anybody? Yeah, shark did. Yeah, he's sound like
Charles Manson over here.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
Yes, So is it worn't there? Or should we stay
away and probably just stick with Leilu and Stitch again.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
It is getting good reviews. It's an eighty four percent
on Rotten Tomatoes. So I would say if you like
that type of you know, horror movie with a twist thriller,
then you'll probably like Sanderson.

Speaker 1 (02:57):
So you're not going to see Jason at the movie
on Jimmy Kimmel because well, he wouldn't wear a PACER's jersey.
I love that, but we know now what we should
and should not see at the theaters, and it sounds
like Joe's twenty twenty five is my way today.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
Hey man, do what you gotta do.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
