Speaker 1 (00:01):
Jerey, Katie, and Josh one hundred.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
So we've got a stack of emails that came in
after I was talking about accidentally hurting my daughter this week.
This first one here came in from Brandon. Brandon says, guys,
love the show. You make my mornings bearable. I heard
Jeremy's story the other day about knocking his daughter down
at the gym, and he says, I feel you, man.
I had an oops moment with my kid as well.

(00:28):
For a quick recap. We were at the rec center
and we were running the track at the rec center
and my daughter likes me to do this thing. As
we're running along, she goes next to me. We're side
by side running and she goes, launch me, Dad, Launch me.
So I start running faster as I grab her arm
and then I bowl her and kind of yank her
and like shoot her down the track as she speeds up.

(00:50):
And she loves it. Launch me, Dad, launch me. We
do it all the time when we're at the rec center.
This last time, though, she lost her footing and you
pushed me Dad, and I oh, punster and she tripped
and went down and skidded about ten feet. Yeah, did
some flips and landed.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
On her back, and everybody saw.

Speaker 2 (01:08):
Everybody saw, and I, you know, was like, oh my god,
this is silly. Aren't we having fun? Oh you're such
a goofball, and please don't cry, and everything's gonna be great.
I didn't mean to do it, so anyway, it was
an accidental hurting. Okay, I didn't mean to do it.
So to go on with Brandon's message, he says, when
my daughter was three, I was playing airplane with her,

(01:29):
you know, tossing her up in the air like Superman.
She was giggling. I was proud of my dad muscles,
and I misjudged the ceiling fan. No oh no, yeah,
he wrote, yes, period the period, ceiling period, period, Yes,
the ceiling fan. Oh no, he does say it wasn't on.
Thank god. She did smash her head into the ceiling

(01:51):
fan and started wailing. I panic ran her to the er,
thinking I broke her school. Turns out just a couple
bunts and bumps and bruises. She's fine now, but the
moment has always stuck with me as an ah crap moment.
Thanks for all the entertainment. AI could never replace you, guys.
And that is from Brandon darn right, Brandon, Thank you, Brandon.

(02:14):
Pretty funny.

Speaker 4 (02:14):
Darn right.

Speaker 3 (02:15):
Please write that same thing to our boss.

Speaker 2 (02:17):
Please zoom uh. If you have a story about how
you accidentally hurt your child, phone lines are open three
oh three six nine one one mix three O three
six nine one sixteen forty nine. We would love to
talk to you, guys. That's the same number for our
text line and our physical line three O three six
nine one, sixteen forty nine. So after that, two more

(02:38):
came in after my story. This one's from John. John says, Jerry,
you're not alone. I hurt my kid by mistake as well.
We have a large backyard and I put my daughter
in a wheelbarrow. Was zooming her around in the backyard,
hit a divot in the ground. It flipped up and
landed on her. Luckily, she was about thirteen at the time,
he said, so she was able to shake it off
pretty good. I felt horrible that I hurt her by

(03:01):
just having fun. We're all good, though. That's from We've
recovered John. Oh, John, Okay. And this one was from Kathy.
Kathy said, Jeremy heard you like throwing your daughter. Ha ha,
She goes, don't feel bad. I have a story too.
My daughter loves our dog but has always been too
small to walk him. I was feeling kind one day,

(03:23):
so I let her take him when we went out
for a walk. I should have known better. Dog sauce
square all bolted. My daughter face planted on the pavement
and was pulled into a bush. Oh gosh, Kavy says,
don't worry, buddy, we all have those parenting fails. Tapped
all of it. So how did you accidentally hurt your kid?
Three zero three six nine one sixteen forty nine, Josh,

(03:45):
I'll let you start, because I know you gotta grab
some lines here. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (03:47):
So there was two instances, one from each parent. Actually,
the very first one I'll never forget. I was I
don't know toddler age. I can't remember my exact age,
but I was like trying to reach up for my
mom to grab or for me to for her to
grab me. And I was wiggling and I was in
a bad mood or whatever. I was kind of throwing
a fit. She picks me up with one arm because

(04:08):
she had something in her hand, and I wiggled out
of her grasp, which isn't that bad. I landed on
my feet, but I was right next to our staircase
and I took a step backwards and just rolled.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
The entire flight of stick pool. Yes, and my mom.

Speaker 4 (04:26):
I just remember looking up at the bottom screaming and
her my mom's face like, oh.

Speaker 2 (04:31):
Killed my son. And then the other one was around.
I don't know, five or six or seven.

Speaker 4 (04:36):
Maybe we're at the pool and my dad does the
launch thing, kind of like a little bit like what
you do, Ja, but he was like, we all are
like launch, just launch us. Well in he launches us
into the pool, but his grip slipped, and so he
launched me into the side of the pool, which was
like concrete, and I slammed against the concrete and then
into the water. And he also thought he killed me.

(04:57):
So both my parents have inadvertently tried to take.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
Now we know what's wrong with you.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
That explains that the.

Speaker 4 (05:02):
One at the pool into the concrete. I thought, I
shattered like my ribs. It hurts so bad, but rudely,
but hey, it was an accident.

Speaker 2 (05:09):
Parenting fail. For the moment, I see a couple of
lines ringing if you get put on hold hank tight,
Josh is gonna get to you. Guys, three oh three
six nine one one mix three oh three six nine
one sixteen forty nine. How did you accidentally hurt your children, Katie?
How about baby Nana?

Speaker 5 (05:25):
For baby Nana, there's a couple. One that comes to
mind is when we lived in an apartment, her dad
and I was Zoe. We had a baby gate at
the top of the stairs, right and our bedroom was
at the bottom of the stairs. But I always thought
that I could just put my leg over the baby
gate and I didn't have to actually open it, right.
I was just like, I can just you know, go

(05:46):
right over it. It's fine, I don't have to open it.
And her dad always used to get mad at me,
like you know, you're gonna hurt yourself, You're gonna hurt her.
And I was holding her one time and at the
baby gate I needed to get over it, and he
was actually yelling at me just open in the gate,
like you're gonna hurt her.

Speaker 3 (06:01):
And I was like, it's fine, what are you talking about?

Speaker 5 (06:04):
And I remember like getting into an argument about it,
and so I take one leg and I whip it
over the bed or the gate and the baby Nana.
I accidentally, like my whole body went to the side
and her head smacked on a chair and she started
crying so bad.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
And then he's mad at me and she's mad at.

Speaker 5 (06:26):
Me, and I was just like, I told you, and
I was so adamant that I could do it. That
was the worst part is I failed, and I was
told I couldn't do it. Then I failed in front
of everybody, and I feel like both her dad and
her were mad at me for like a week. And
she was only like a year old, and she was
like mad at me, and I was like.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
I'm sorry, I didn't know.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
But man, did she hit her head hard. And then
another time.

Speaker 5 (06:51):
This wasn't necessarily me doing the hurting, but she fell
off the monkey bars at school and hit her face
like face planet on the monkey bars, like on the
ground from the monkey bars, and she had two black
eyes walking around with two black eyes.

Speaker 3 (07:06):
The amount of people who thought I hurt my child.

Speaker 5 (07:08):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I bet the first part, like so
many people.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
Those black eyes last a long time too.

Speaker 5 (07:14):
In case anybody's wondering where people thought I beat my kids.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
So no, I mean it like that.

Speaker 5 (07:21):
So it's like on accident for sure, but parents, man,
you gotta get through it.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
You sure do. So we got some people calling in,
how did you accidentally hurt your child? Three zho three
six nine one sixteen forty nine. Mike rode in and said,
I thought I was being funny spinning my son around
in the yard, that whole thing where he grabs their
arms and spinning, spinning, spinning, and he's like, yeah, he
slipped out. I let him go, and he flew right

(07:48):
into a small evergreen true. Oh no, all scratched up
like you fought a raccoon.

Speaker 5 (07:54):
Whoop, see Hi Tammy, Hi, good morning.

Speaker 2 (07:59):
No more so, how did you accidentally hurt your kiddo?

Speaker 6 (08:04):
Oh? My gosh, So it's not me. I'm tattling on
my husband down.

Speaker 7 (08:07):
Okay.

Speaker 6 (08:09):
So when my daughter is like about six months old,
he had her in one arm and he was trying
to hook the bouncy seat, you know, like the clothing
on the door jam, and they didn't bounce crazy yep,
and she did the throwback. It's either head budding or
throwing themselves back. At that stage. She did this throwback thing,
and he had the didn't let go of the freaking

(08:31):
bouncy thing, and she tossed backwards into our older kids
like bunk beds. But at that time there was the metal,
you know, the metal bunk beds hit her face and
to this day has an invitation on her.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
A little divot right in her forehead right.

Speaker 6 (08:51):
And so the funny thing is that I didn't help
him because I was in shower and I could hear
it'll just scream me. So I jump out. Of course,
I don't have anything on it, go run, it's the room.
And he's like, she's fine, she's fine, and she's wailing.
I'm like, she's.

Speaker 3 (09:08):
In her head.

Speaker 6 (09:09):
Oh my gosh, she felt so bad.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
What a great way to get your wife out of
the shower naked.

Speaker 6 (09:17):
Oh my gosh, it was horrible. Yet yeah, he claims
it was never hands. I don't remember that story.

Speaker 8 (09:24):
I don't remember that great story was.

Speaker 2 (09:29):
Tammy. That's great. And a total side note on this,
why don't they make those bouncy things for adults like
that you can put in your doorjam when you're sitting
there watching Netflix and you can be I think that'd
be awesome.

Speaker 6 (09:40):
Everybody needs one of those things.

Speaker 2 (09:44):
Yeah, well, that's very kind of you. Were glad you
have your clothes on this morning, and thank you so
much for calling in. All right, you can call whenever
you want.

Speaker 7 (09:59):
Timmy, you guys.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
How awesome.

Speaker 3 (10:03):
She's got a.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
FaceTime the next time. Tear out, guys.

Speaker 1 (10:07):
Yes Hi, good morning you guys.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
Yes Hi, good morning to you. So how did you
how did you hurt your kid?

Speaker 1 (10:13):
Yeah, I'm hearing by daughter. She's like, please call on.
You have to tell the story. So she's seven years
old and she was like, you know, goofy around the floor,
crawling around. And I went to go like act like
I was going to like spank her bottom, and her
shirt came up and I hit her backside and it
left like a huge red mark. And I was like,
I am so sorry, like you speak to me, left

(10:35):
a mark on me. And I was like, oh my god.
I was like, we don't hit. I'm so sorry.

Speaker 7 (10:39):
I don't hit kid like I was gonna pat her.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
But anyways, how hard were you pad?

Speaker 3 (10:45):
It's funny she was, she.

Speaker 1 (10:47):
Was, you know, she was actually I know, so it
was really hard hit.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
But it's like an accident. It was. It was a
slip up like every parent's.

Speaker 7 (10:54):
Bidder, you know, marked her.

Speaker 1 (10:57):
So anyway, she I had to call to tell you, guys.

Speaker 3 (11:00):
It's funny because She'll probably never forget it.

Speaker 1 (11:02):
She'll always right the stories. I was like, I don't
think mine's not bad, but I guess.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
The end for the seven year old, it left to Mark,
It left to Mark. Teara your rockstar, thanks for calling.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
Thank you guys.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
By Maria wrote in and said I was curling my
daughter's hair for Easter once and I accidentally burned her
ear with the curling iron. She turned her head mid curl.
Now she's always flinching if I use the curling iron
with her. Yeah, I could see that sizzled.

Speaker 4 (11:32):
That happened to me, Jerry, my mom when she was
curling your hair, well, no, no, just like Katie professional
hairdressers here my mom and she nicked my ear one time,
so I get very jittery when she was around the ear.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
I love TJ. TJ wrote in and said, my mom
once was putting sunscreen on me, something about Oh, it's
like those clicker caps on the spray one. She didn't
know it was open, squeezed it and it blasted right
into my eyes. Oh. He's like I had had been
six or seven years old. Oh, sunscreen right in the eye. Alie, Alie, Sarah, Hi, Hey,

(12:10):
so you have a kiddo.

Speaker 7 (12:11):
I have four kiddos, but when my oldest was twelve,
I had my third and she we were in the
grocery store doing something and I was checking out and
she's like, can I just take you know, my siblings
out to the car. And I was like, sure, no problem.
My son was but eighteen months old. She threw him
on her shoulders and walked out to the car and

(12:34):
tripped over air and my son went. She put her
hands out to catch him, but he went straight over
her head road rash on his face, broke his collarbones.

Speaker 2 (12:43):
Oh my gosh, God escalated quickly.

Speaker 3 (12:48):
I bet, I bet your daughter fell awful though she.

Speaker 7 (12:51):
Was crying so bad. We went straight to the er
because we weren't sure, like he wasn't moving his arm.
We didn't know it was his collarbone until they did
X rays. Wait, she was just falling. She's like, I
wish it was me because she just got a little
scrape on her knee. She's like, I'm so sorry.

Speaker 2 (13:05):
Yeah, oh yeah. Traumatizing the way around.

Speaker 5 (13:08):
It is like, that's a hard one. When you have
to make a trip to the hospital, it's like, but.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
A heck of a story. A great story, Sarah, Hey,
you have a great Friday and a fun weekend. All
right you guys too, right? Why sah, Okay, we're gonna
do one more. Hi, Joanna, Hey, good morning, Good morning
to you. So we are talking about how you accidentally
hurt your kids. Do you have a story?

Speaker 8 (13:32):
Okay, Well, the good news is I didn't accidentally hurt
her my mother did.

Speaker 2 (13:38):
Let's call your mom out.

Speaker 8 (13:40):
When my oldest was twenty months old, we were on
a road trip and my mom's seat belt stopped working,
and so she was trying to climb over my daughter's
car seat to get to the other seat, and she
set on what she thought was the side of the
car seat, but it was actually my daughter's leg. Oh yeah,

(14:01):
it broke her leg.

Speaker 2 (14:03):
Oh my god, how heavy is your mom? Somebody had
to say it, that's what I was gonna say.

Speaker 8 (14:11):
She's not that heavy.

Speaker 1 (14:12):
I swear.

Speaker 2 (14:18):
Somebody had to say it. I mean, come on, oh
my god, I know.

Speaker 8 (14:22):
I knew that's what you were going to say.

Speaker 2 (14:23):
Yeah, you knew. The good God tell your mom to
go on a diet. But the kid fine? Now is everything? Okay?

Speaker 8 (14:33):
Yeah? My daughter is fifteen now.

Speaker 6 (14:36):
She likes to laugh.

Speaker 8 (14:37):
About it and remind her grandma.

Speaker 7 (14:39):
What she did to her with you, Grandma.

Speaker 3 (14:42):
Remember when you broke my legs.

Speaker 2 (14:43):
Broke my legs. I say you get her back at
this point, go over and sit on Grandma. That's what
you need to do. That's a funny call, Joanna. Thank
you for sharing.

Speaker 3 (14:54):
She's okay.

Speaker 2 (14:55):
Thank you, have a good day. I mean, come that
grandma was. I'm telling you, I guarantee she was fick. Hey, guys,
