(00:01):
Hey, guys, this is Jesson Jess and the mess. I wanted
to start off this episode with averse from our Bible, and that is
the Book of Isaiah, chapter twentysix, verse three, Isaiah twenty six
three, and it reads, youwill keep him in perfect peace, whose

(00:26):
mind has stayed on you because hetrusts in you. And that verse for
me is so freeing, and hehas proven it so true because even in
the most stressful situations or just normaldays, normal moments, and maybe I'm

(00:49):
just feeling anxious, he just calmsmy anxious heart as I focus on him
and keep him at the forefront ofmy mind even while I'm doing my responsibilities
as a mom, as a person, and I'm just trusting that he is
helping me with everything because he wantsto be involved in everything that we do.

(01:15):
And I'm consciously acknowledging him and dependingon him and his help from his
Holy Spirit who lives within me tohelp me with all of these things,
to calm my anxious heart or myanxious mind. So there's some spiritual food

(01:38):
for today. But I was lookingback in my notebooks and I flipped to
this page with that verse on there, and I wanted to read some of
my notes that I wrote down, and it says, along with keeping our

(02:01):
mind stayed on Jesus Matthew six, chapter six, verse thirty three, and
it reads, seek the Kingdom ofGod and his righteousness first, and all
these other things will be added untoyou. And He's shown me that verse

(02:27):
a lot, and he's proven ittrue because I've witnessed myself and others,
but just personally myself as I consciously, intentionally and purposefully sought him and put
him first. I sought Him inhis kingdom and his righteousness first every day

(02:54):
throughout my day, and him readingmy heart and seeing that I was doing
that, he then added these otherthings unto me. Whenever we, you
know, pray for things, wewant, things, we care about,
things, we need things. Youknow, God knows our need before we

(03:17):
even need it. Let alone sayit, you know, or ask him.
So whenever he sees us looking tohim first and trusting in him,
he will begin to add those thingsunto us. And I'm a living,
a living witness of that for real, because I've found myself, you know,

(03:46):
I've found myself making the decision tojust not care so much about the
things that I was caring about morethan I was caring about keeping my eyes
on God and putting him first.Whenever I started to put my eyes on
God and seek Him in his righteousnessfirst, he then began to give me

(04:10):
things that I was praying for orhad been praying for, like in the
past, or something maybe even small, puny things that I might have wanted
or desired, or even things thatI didn't even actually pray for out louder

(04:32):
in my mind, but he justknew that, like in my heart it
was a desire or something that Iknow silently wanted but maybe just didn't ask
for. He is that caring ofa god. He cares even about the
small things, the big things, everything concerning us, and He will prove

(04:55):
himself faithful to add those things.Unto the one who diligently seek him,
it says in a different verse, the one that diligently seeks him, he
will give him the desires of hisheart. And that's another verse that I
just really cling to and put myhope in, because like just us as

(05:19):
humans, it's really really easy toget wrapped up into ourselves become selfish instead
of selfless, because our just sinnernature. Our flesh is naturally selfish.
It wants and it wants, andit takes, and it takes, and

(05:43):
it takes a training. It takesus training ourselves to regularly, you know,
wake up every day and purposely thinkof God first, even if we
don't feel like it, talk toHim first, especially when we don't feel
like it. We have an enemy, the devil, and just as the

(06:09):
verse says, he prows around likea roaring lion, seeking who he may
devour. So you know, we'revery vulnerable. He said, I send
you out as sheeps among wolves, you know, and that's truly what we

(06:31):
are here on this earth. Sowe just we must be really you know,
aware and observant, test the spirits, see what is of God and
what is not. But before Iget too off track, going back to
you know, keeping our minds stayedon him, because like whenever we do

(06:55):
that, and whenever we just tryto pray as much as we can think
to or remember to, and he'llremind us. And I love that he
reminds us, especially like myself.I just I'm really like OCD and I
get into my own mode and it'shard to stop sometimes because I want to

(07:19):
finish what I start, or getsomething right, or try to perfect something.
I don't have to do that. We're over exerting yourself to try to
perfect something. We don't have todo that. We just got to try
our best. And whenever He seesus, you know, once we've done

(07:42):
our part, he is faithful todo his part, and it's just our
job to do what we can andlet God do the rest and just don't
worry or stress about it any further. Just put your trust in him and
he'll come through. I've seen it. I've seen him. He's so faithful,

(08:07):
even with the smallest things. Andyou know, whenever we I think
I talked about it in a differentepisode talking about our part in God's part,
whenever we've done our part, sometimeswe will go over that little boundary
line and try to do God's job. And that's whenever we enter into works

(08:31):
of the flesh, and works ofthe flesh it births frustration and stress.
Works of the flesh is whenever we'reusing our energy to try to do God's
job. So that's why, likeI said, we do what we can

(08:54):
and we just pray about the rest, pray that He will do his part
and pray that he'll bless what we'veput our hands to and we just got
to put our trust in him.And then I was also looking at my
notebook and it said, so,as humans, we have a soul,

(09:20):
and our soul is our mind, our will, and our emotions. So
our mind, we want to havegood thoughts, right, and then our
will is what we want to do, what our plans are, so rather

(09:41):
than that, we rather want todo the will of God. We want
to align our plans throughout our daywith what we feel like maybe God wants
us to do, you know, what is good, what is right,
what is just? He wants usto do justly and love mercy and walk

(10:09):
humbly. And then for our emotions, the last part of our soul is
you know, our feelings and feelingsare really fickle. As humans, we
have feelings and they're just they're allover the place, they're ever changing,

(10:31):
so they're not something solid that wecan trust in. And that's why I'm
really grateful for God's word because it'slike it is our medicine. We can
flip open to it and it's themost solid thing, especially compared to our
feelings. Because if we just walkby our feelings all the time, then

(10:56):
we're more than likely going to bein trouble or distress, you know.
So I just felt like it wasreally important to say that because whenever I
heard the word soul whenever I wasgrowing up, I didn't really understand what
that meant. Like, what's thedifference between your soul and your spirit.

(11:20):
Everyone has a soul and a spirit, and your spirit is where the Holy
Spirit comes to live and begins tosanctify your whole self and begins to transform
you into the image of His sonJesus. That's so beautiful to me.

(11:48):
And right now I'm working on justhaving a patient attitude, and I believe
it talks about, you know,a patient attitude in Philippians two five and
like humility being humble. Humility isrequired for patience because if we're patient,

(12:16):
we will be in control of ourmind, our will, and emotions.
But if we're not patient, thosethings gain control over us. Like I
just said, you know, wecould find ourselves in a real mess.
You know, if we're just goingoff of our feelings or our thoughts or

(12:37):
what we want to do all thetime. It's much better to seek God
first, go off of his word, stay praying to him because that will
align us with his will for ourlife. And you know, I didn't

(12:58):
exactly know what humility meant either forthe longest time. So if anybody listening
to me right now, if you'renot sure of what it means, don't
feel bad because I didn't either forelike the longest time. But humility is
being free from pride and arrogance. In humility, you value others above yourself,

(13:26):
not looking to your own interests, but each of you to the interests
of others. And it also canmean humility can mean you know that in
your flesh you are inadequate, yetyou also know who you are in Christ.

(13:48):
So there's a certain appropriate confidence inhumility in Christ. You know,
you don't think yourself like higher thanothers you actually, but others above yourself.
That doesn't mean let people walk overyou, you know, don't be
a fool, but just consider themjust as you consider yourself. Thanks guys,
