(00:01):
Hello, family, this is Jesson Jess and the Mess. It's been
maybe a few weeks since I recordedmy last episode, but I wanted to
start off for this episode. Iwanted to start off in my Bible,
(00:23):
John ten, John chapter ten,and the heading of chapter ten is the
good Shepherd. So it begins Johnchapter ten, Verse one, Truly,
(00:45):
I tell you, anyone who doesn'tenter the sheep pen by the gate,
but climbs in some other way isa thief and a robber. The one
who enters by the gate is theshepherd of the sheep. The gatekeeper opens
it for him, and the sheephear his voice. He calls his own
(01:11):
sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought all his own
outside, he goes ahead of them. The sheep follow him because they know
his voice. They will never followa stranger. Instead, they will run
(01:32):
away from him because they don't knowthe voice of strangers. Jesus gave them
this figure of speech, but theydid not understand what he was telling them.
Continuing on, this is chap orthis is verse seven still Chapter ten,
John chapter ten. Jesus said again, truly, I tell you I
(01:57):
am the gate for the sheep. All who came before me are thieves and
robbers, but the sheep didn't listento them. I am the gate.
If any one enters by me,he will be saved and will come in
and go out and find pasture.A thief comes only to steal and kill
(02:22):
and destroy. I have come sothat they may have life, and have
it in abundance. I am thegood shepherd. The good shepherd lays down
his life for the sheep. Thehired hand, since he is not the
shepherd and doesn't own the sheep, leaves them and runs away when he sees
(02:49):
a wolf coming. The wolf thensnatches and scatters them. This happens because
he is a hired hand and doesn'tcare about the sheep. I am the
good Shepherd. I know my own, and my own know me, just
as the Father knows me, andI know the Father. I lay down
(03:12):
my life for the sheep. ButI have other sheep that are not from
this sheep pen. I must bringthem also, and they will listen to
my voice. Then there will beone flock, one shepherd. This is
why the Father loves me, becauseI lay down my life so that I
(03:36):
may take it up again. Noone takes it from me, but I
lay it down on my own.I have the right to lay it down,
and I have the right to takeit up again. I have received
this command from my father. Sothat wraps up at verse eighteen. So
(04:02):
John chapter ten, verse verses onethrough eighteen, I just read, and
I wanted to also read verses nineteen, twenty and twenty one. Again,
the Jews were divided because of thesewords. Many of them were saying,
(04:25):
he has a demon and he's crazy. Why do you listen to him?
Others were saying, these aren't thewords of someone who is demon possessed.
Can a demon open the eyes ofthe blind? And then it Then it
goes on to verses twenty two andso on Jesus at the Festival of Dedication.
(04:49):
So before I continue on there,I wanted to say my commentary.
Bas So, whenever I flipped opento this, and like whenever you're reading
(05:10):
the Bible, like by yourself,it's just it really is for our own
good. Not only is the wordour weapon against the enemy in times of
trouble or encouragement for ourselves, butit's just like medicine for our spirit and
(05:38):
our soul and our hearts and minds. It's complete instruction and protection for us
whenever we digest these verses in theBible. And more than anything, whenever
I really just read these words, the sheep follow him because they know his
(06:04):
voice. I just I just feelso close to the Lord. Whenever you
really just listen, just listen tothe words. Pick them apart, however,
(06:30):
and you just feel them and youbelieve them in your heart, and
you can just feel his presence wheneveryou let yourself, your heart believe.
And it's just so He's so amazing. Man. I'm just so in love
with Jesus. And he's been givingme heavenly thoughts about whenever I'll get to
(06:57):
heaven and I close my eyes andI picture it, I'm his sheep and
I hear his voice, and hewill lead me through this life and even
after life, after death comes lifeagain the Holy Spirit. He will bring
(07:20):
me back to life. And thefirst person I want to see is Jesus,
and to just see him with hisarms wide open and just seeing the
heavenly holy New Jerusalem, the holyCity, the city that we get to
(07:45):
be with him in forever, andwe get to play and we get to
laugh, and we get to singand build things with our hands and enjoy,
enjoy being with him. One time, he gave me this dream because
(08:09):
he knows. He knows that Ididn't get to go to any like high
school dances or prom so I hadthis dream. And in the dream it
was like this kind of glorified danceor prom. But it was just it
(08:35):
felt The feeling of it is whatI remember most. Just it felt magical.
It felt divine, supernatural, heavenly, like a heavenly dance. And
I was dancing with Jesus. AndI looked over and my sister was dancing
(08:58):
with her Jesus, and my momwas dancing with her Jesus, and my
brother was dancing with his Jesus, and it was just it meant so much
to me, and still means somuch to me. Every time he brings
that the Holy Spirit brings that beautifulmemory of that dream to my remembrance,
(09:26):
it just makes me just cry withhope and gratitude, and I just am
I'm so eager to be with himand to just to be with him and
(09:48):
to be a kid again. Thisworld, this world is dark and evil
and corrupted, but we are jointheirs with christ Us that believe in Him
(10:13):
and that are saved, and weare his vessels, his beacons of light
in this world. And as westay close to Him on the narrow path,
fixing our eyes on Jesus, theauthor and finisher of our faith,
(10:37):
we can shine, We can loveand make the world a better place,
and truly enjoy our lives. Becauseit leads me to look at John ten
(10:58):
versus John ten ten, it says, a thief comes only to steal and
kill and destroy. I have comeso that they may have life and have
it in abundance. And I believein other translations it reads, I have
(11:30):
come so that they may enjoy theirlife and have it in abundance. I've
heard it read in different ways ortranslated in different ways. And Joyce Meyer
I love her. She teaches onthat principle a lot, so much so
(11:52):
that her ministry is called or herprogram TV programming is called enjoying everyday life.
Because us who are saved, Hecame so that we could enjoy our
lives even while we have a problem. Even while we have a problem in
(12:18):
life, we as Christians need toknow that we have permission from Jesus to
enjoy our life. He came tosave our souls. He came to save
us and take our punishment, buthe also came that we may enjoy enjoy
(12:46):
our life while we're still here onearth, even in the chaos, even
if we have a problem. AndI'm learning that more and more, And
to be honest with you, justhear, like this past week, I've
(13:09):
been straying, and I've been gettingdistracted and even letting myself be distracted,
knowing that I'm being distracted, andI just I just had to come back
(13:31):
to the Lord and ask for hisforgiveness and his help because I am his
sheep, and I know I knowhis voice, and I know the voice
of a stranger, and I donot follow the stranger. Even as it
(13:56):
says in this verse John ten versushold on, let me find it verse
five, they will never follow astranger. Instead, they will run away
from him because they don't know thevoice of strangers. And once I heard,
(14:24):
you know, the lying thoughts fromthe enemy, or the distractions put
before me as a temptation to stopme from talking to my father or reading
my word, because that's what theenemy's after. He doesn't want you to
talk to Jesus and he doesn't wantyou to read your Bible because it's our
weapon and he knows that. SoI hope this can help others. I
(14:52):
love you, guys. Bye bye,
