(00:01):
Yellow is jess On jess in themess. I hope everybody's having a good
morning, you know. I wasjust I like to sit by my dining
room window, open it up andyou know, pull up a chair,
(00:22):
have some coffee, spend some timewith God, just looking out at the
trees and the birds and stuff. And I was, I'm doing that right
now, and I'm just watching alittle white butterfly flying by. God usually
sends me butterflies and birds, andyou know those like little fuzzy things that
(00:49):
float around in the air. Sometimes. Whenever I first got here to Michigan
in twenty twenty, I seen someof those, and I told my sister
while we were driving and seeing inthose, I said, you know,
whenever I see those, I feellike it's God, you know, like
giving me a hug or a kiss, or just saying him just saying I
(01:11):
love you and I'm here. Soanytime I see those, I really genuinely
believe and feel like that's just Godsaying hi to me, giving me a
hug. But anyways, I wassitting here at the window with my youngest
(01:32):
Sammy, and he's three, andwe were talking about heaven and it usually
comes up in conversations like that withmy kids, just randomly. It's the
Holy Spirit, the Holy God's spirit. The Holy Spirit is like the wind.
You don't know if it's gonna goleft or right, or up or
(01:53):
down, or you don't know whereit comes from or where it's going,
you know. So God made sureto incorporate this conversation between me and my
son today. So we were sittingup here by the window and I told
him, I said, you know, I cannot wait to have my tree
(02:19):
house whenever we get to Heaven.I'm going to have a really cool tree
house. You want to come tomy treehouse, Sammy? And he said
no. I was like okay, and he said he started talking about his
tree house he was going to have, and it's going to be a Spider
(02:39):
Man tree house. And he's realinto Spider Man right now, and he's
going to have a Spider Man everythingin his tree house. And I said,
can I come to your tree house? And he said, yeah,
you can come, thanks son.And and then I said, but you
(03:02):
know what, I really can't waitfor, Sammy, because I then started
to say, you know, Jesusis gonna play with us and play in
our treehouses with us, and it'sgonna be so fun playing with Jesus.
And he just got excited with me, and it was just so beautiful and
(03:24):
genuine. And then I said, you know what, I really can't wait
for, Sammy. I can't waitto see God in Jesus because he's gonna
be so bright. He's gonna beso bright that we won't even need the
(03:46):
sun in heaven. There won't bea sun or a moon. It'll just
be all we won't need is God'slife, his glory. It's so bright.
I can't wait to see God andJesus. And then he said,
(04:10):
you can't wait to see the Lordand I said, yeah, I can't
wait to see the Lord. Yeah. And then he said you can't wait
to see the spew It and Isaid, yeah, the Spirit. I
can't wait. And he said youwant to fly and go with the spear
(04:32):
It and I said, yeah,of course, yeah, I want to
fly and go away with the Spirit. It's going to be the best,
Bubba. And it was just sucha beautiful conversation and it just fed my
(04:54):
already, you know, growing seedsof my desire of heaven, and I
just wanted to get on here andshare that because it was such a beautiful
moment, a beautiful conversation. AndI'll have those conversations, you know,
(05:16):
throughout the day every day with mykids, and it's it's never planned.
You know, we can, youknow, do what we can are on
our on our end as parents andyou know, set them up to learn
about Jesus Sunday school, you know, or what is it like devotional time
(05:43):
at the table or you know thatis that is totally good in my book
because for the longest I was readingout of our kids Bible, like at
bedtime for like one of our bedtimestories, I read a story out of
our kids Bible. And so I'mdefinitely not against you know, routine Jesus'
(06:09):
time, you know, things thatare scheduled by us. But I'm what
I'm talking about right now is thingsthat are unplanned, things that we you
know, didn't plan ourselves, andit just happens naturally, not forced,
very smooth. And that's the HolySpirit. I love it. Whenever God
(06:33):
interrupts. I love it whenever Hesteps in and speaks through my kids or
through me to my kids. Andit's kind of like the Jesus in them
is like having a conversation with theJesus in me, and it's just beautiful.
(06:56):
God is beautiful, And I'm justreally grateful for my kids. I'm
grateful for my life, even thoughit's not easy, and it's actually it's
more hard then it's not, youknow. But I've heard it be said
(07:18):
that you know, if it's nothard, then it's probably not worth it.
So I always try to keep thatin mind to But yeah, I
just thought that was such a genuineand beautiful moment. I just wanted to
share it with y'all. Whenever youbecome a part of the Family of Faith,
(07:47):
a believer in Jesus, you've prayedto him and asked him to forgive
you of your sins, wash youclean, begin the Holy Spirit, the
Holy Spirit come to live in youand begin transforming you into His image.
(08:13):
You confess Him as your Lord andSavior, and you believe that yes,
you are indeed saved now and onceyou've had that conversation with him. I
do feel like it's important to alsosay that I believe in, you know,
(08:35):
baptism. I do believe that onceyou're saved, you should be baptized,
placed down in the water and comeback up in the name of Jesus
the Father and the Holy Spirit. And I don't know what denomination believe that
(09:01):
or don't believe that. I don'tknow. I felt the need to say
that being baptized is important to doonce you've made the decision to give your
life to Jesus. And I rememberwhenever I was baptized. I think I
(09:26):
was a teenager and I went toone of these churches in my hometown,
and I remember being baptized, goingunder the water, and once I come
back came back up. It wasa feeling that I've never felt before.
And it's not really I don't know. I'm not real good at explaining this
(09:50):
specific thing such as my baptism,But honestly, the best word I can
scribe being baptized is freedom, justfeeling free and cleansed. And I don't
(10:13):
know, like it's just a wholenother feeling. And I've heard of people,
you know, being baptized more thanonce, and I'm not I don't
really have an exact opinion about whetheryou should do it once or more than
once, or I just know thatI would be on the side of at
(10:35):
least doing one baptism. Once you'resaved rather than none. And I just
felt it strong to say that onhere because I know that I've put out
a salvation prayer on one of theepisodes on this podcast, and I just
(11:01):
felt it was necessary to also, just going off of what I've learned,
to share my thoughts about being baptized. I feel like it's necessary. There's
actually a verse that confirms that it'sdefinitely necessary, and more specifically, it's
(11:28):
in Acts chapter two, verse thirtyeight, and it says, Peter replied,
repent and be baptized each of youin the name of Jesus Christ for
the forgiveness of your sins, andyou will receive the gift of the Holy
(11:50):
Spirit. So that's Acts chapter two, verse thirty eight. And then another
verse that confirms it is Acts chaptertwenty two, verse sixteen, and it
reads, and now why are youdelaying? Get up and be baptized and
(12:16):
wash away your sins calling on hisname. Yep, that's Acts chapter twenty
two, sixteen. And He's placedthese verses in front of me, and
I just felt really compelled to sharethat on here. It's it's something very
(12:39):
important because it's plainly written in theBible for us to know to do.
Once we have had that conversation ofsalvation with Jesus and we've you know,
welcomed him into our heart and askedhim to forgive us of our sins,
(13:00):
and with that we ought to bebaptized in the name of Jesus, be
baptized and be cleansed, and haveour sins washed away by the pure water,
because if you do it in hisname, it's pure, you know.
(13:22):
And it reminds me of this moviethat I watched. I think it's
I know, the man who playsJesus in the show That Chosen. I
think his name is like Jonathan Rome, and he was actually the actor kind
(13:46):
of like the main actor in thisother movie that I'm thinking about, and
it's called Jesus Revolution, and Ibelieve it's on Netflix. I don't know
if it's on there anymore, becauseI know they take shows off after a
while. But anyways, I watchedthat and it was based off a true
story, and it was just incredible. It was like back in the seventies
(14:09):
and eighties whenever there was just abig outpouring of the Holy Spirit and a
lot of people were saved in thattime. And the guy the role that
Jonathan Romey was playing. He andthe rest of the church that was made
(14:33):
up from him and his friends. They were just baptizing people in the river
in Jesus' name, and it wasjust beautiful to learn about
