that email address is Just the Bible Will Do at
gmail dot com. Hey, this is another segment of Jump
In with Jonathan. I've enjoyed doing these segments. We do
(01:01):
a lot of different things. On this segment today, I
wanted to do something a little bit different though. Today
I want to introduce myself the Pastor Jonathan Smith. I
have done a lot of different podcasts. I have done
a lot of different interviews on podcast. I have seen
(01:23):
our YouTube account grow, I've seen our Instagram account grow,
I've seen our Facebook account grow. I've seen our downloads
go up over fourteen hundred now, and I'm very grateful
for all of that. But I think one of the
things that I've forgotten to do in this podcast is
introduced myself. I know you can read my bio on
(01:44):
the website, or you can read my bio on Facebook
or any of those places. But what better way to
learn about Jonathan Smith than Jonathan tell you about himself.
And I want to do that today. I am Pastor
Jonathan Smith. I have been saved since October the twenty second,
nineteen ninety nine. One of the greatest decisions in my
(02:05):
life was to accept Jesus Christ as my personal Lord
and savior. Also, I was called to preach at the
age of fifteen years old. It was in January or February.
I don't remember the exact day or date. I do
remember it was in the winter time. And I will
(02:28):
never forget God. I always grew when I grew up
in a pastor's home, and I always said I'll never preach.
Preaching is not for me. I don't want a pastor.
I'd seen a lot of hurt, I'd been hurt, I'd
been in a lot of it, and I said, you
know what, I don't want a pastor. This is not
for me. And God one night spoke to my heart
and said, hey, I want you to preach my word.
(02:49):
One of the greatest decisions that I've ever had in
my life is accepting the call to preach the word
of God. Fast forward in my life to twenty and seventeen.
God gave me the opportunity to get pastor Community Baptist
Church in Moresville, North Carolina. Another one of the greatest
(03:11):
decisions that God has allowed me to accept was accepting
the pastor there at Community Baptist Church. I could tell
you things that God has done in the church, things
that has made my head spin that had it not
been the hand of God. In the things of God.
God that God has done for us at the church,
(03:34):
I'm very grateful for what God has done. Later on
into it twenty seven. In twenty twenty twenty one, I
started Just the Bible Will Do podcasts. I started this
podcast as a as a way to teach the Word
of God to every man, woman, boy, and girl so
(03:56):
that they can better understand the scriptures. I've always wanted
to be able to teach the Bible at a level
that no matter what age or where you're at in
your Christian life, that you'll be able to understand it.
I don't want to make it too simple that you
get bored with it. I don't want to make it
too deep that it goes over your head and you
(04:18):
struggle with it. And so I try to find in
the middle of the road. I'm a very simple minded,
very forward style of pastor. One of the things that
I enjoy about being able to preach the Word of
God is to be able to study the scriptures and
(04:38):
rightly divide the Word of truth. Unfortunately, in this day
that we're living in, and we've got a lot of
people who adds their opinion to the scriptures. They add
their they add their beliefs to the scriptures, but they
do not have any scripture to back it up. Today,
you and I as Christians, and today, if you're a pastor,
(05:01):
if you're a Sunday school teacher, if you're a leader
in your church, you need to learn but rightly divide
the Word of truth so that it's not your opinion,
but it's what God says, It's what the Word of
God says, It's what the Bible says. That's how the
name of the title Just the Bible Will Do came
(05:22):
about because I wanted to take my faults, my opinions,
and out of it and I wanted to take the
Bible and show you that the Bible says and the
Bible is the final authority. Moving on into that, then
we came up to twenty twenty five and I came
(05:43):
up with this segment called Jump In with Jonathan. Why
did we come up with this segment Because I felt
like that with Just the Bible Will Do podcasts that
I wouldn't be able to go out and talk about
different topics, different issues. Would it be able to interview
certain people. And as the podcast began to grow, I
(06:03):
started seeing a demand in being able to be more
versatile and to actually expand, to expand the willhouse lack
of better words, to expand the will house of reaching
more people that this segment here can do that. This
(06:28):
segment here of jump In with Jonathan is a hodgepodge segment.
As I've said before, this segment of Jumping with Jonathan
is a very It can at times be a controversial segment,
and I understand that it can be a segment that
I interview somebody that if I went to them with hey,
(06:50):
I'm a pastor, and yes I tell everybody that I'm
Pastor Jonathan Smith. So don't get me wrong. But if
I say, hey, I want you to come on this
podcast about in the Bible, I don't know that much
about the Bible. But having this segment of jumping with
Jonathan allows them to feel more comfortable coming on the podcast,
telling why they believe what they believe, what the different
(07:12):
things they have experienced as the believer, different life experiences,
different church experiences, how that you can receive help. And
that is why we started this jump in with Jonathan segment.
Since we've started just the Bible, we'll do podcasts. We
have went from six subscribers on YouTube today we're up
(07:35):
over seven hundred subscribers. We went from about five to
ten thousand views and twenty eight days on Facebook. As
of today, we're up over one hundred thousand views a
month on Facebook. On Instagram, we went from ninety followers today.
(07:57):
I think we're right at five thousand or a little
over five thousand and followers. You say, how do you
have time for this? You pastor you do a podcast,
you do other things in your life and you have
a family. I do. I put a lot of late nights,
a lot of weekends at very little downtime. And I'm
(08:18):
not saying that so that you feel sorry for me.
I'm not saying that at all. I'm just telling you
how I do it. We I have prioritized the gospel
and reaching the Gospel over my own physical and mental rest.
If that makes sense to you today, I want someone
(08:42):
to come across this podcast and find the help that
they need. It is very satisfying and gratifying when you
get an email, or you get a message on Facebook,
or you get a message on YouTube, or you get
a message in TikTok or Instagram saying hey, I came
across your podcast today. I was having a bad day.
(09:05):
I got help out of the podcast. It turned my
day around where I was struggling with this in my
Christian life. You talked about it and it helped me
through it. And it's nothing that I've done. All glory
and honor goes to God. So that is why we
did just the Bible Will Do podcasts. I would say
that this podcast, in order for it to be successful
(09:27):
as it is today, I put probably twenty hours a
week into the podcast, on top of studying for Sunday
sermons and Wednesday sermons, on top of my family time,
on top of everything else going on in my life.
It is I do not say that begrudgingly. It is
(09:49):
one of the greatest joys that I get to do.
It is probably the second one of the second's second
in the pastoring of being able to come on this
podcas and talk to you guys each and every week.
And I'm very, very grateful for all of my subscribers.
If you have subscribed on YouTube, thank you. If you
(10:11):
have subscribed on If you follow me on Instagram, thank you.
If you follow me on Facebook, thank you. If you
follow me on Spreaker, which is our main podcasting platform,
Apple Podcasts, however you follow us, thank you so very much.
You say, you know, I really enjoy the podcast. I
(10:31):
like to become a supporter. Go to Just the Biblewill
Doo dot com you can become a supporter of the podcast.
There's links on there. On Patreon, you can subscribe through
Speaker to or spreaker. Sorry. You can subscribe through spreaker
to be a monthly, to be a monthly supporter of
(10:51):
the podcast, it's five ninety nine a month. You can
subscribe to me on Facebook, it's like two ninety nine
a month. You can subscri to me on Patreon. And
on Patreon, there's a lot of different things that you
could subscribe to us for and there's three different packages there.
(11:13):
And I'm not telling you this as a promotional thing.
I'm just telling you a little bit about the podcast
and what we've got going on. Our goal is to
be by the end of the year. I want to
be over ten thousand followers on Instagram. I'm telling you
the goals of the podcast now. I want to be
over ten thousand followers on Facebook, and I want to
be over one thousand followers on YouTube. And those goals
(11:37):
are not unreachable with this success that the podcast is
growing at today. And again, I could not do this
podcast without you guys, So thank you so very much
for listening to the podcast. Thank you for subscribing. Everywhere
that you subscribe to you say, well, I've always had
questions for you. Pastor Smith can email me at just
(12:01):
the Bible will Do at gmail dot com. Again, that
email address is just the Bible will Do at gmail
dot com. I may not respond right away, but I
promise you that I will get to your email. We
do get several different We do get several emails a
week through that particular to that particular email address, so
(12:23):
it does take me a little bit of time to
get to them. If you message me on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok,
any of those places, I promise I'll get back with you.
My phone goes off constantly. So thank you so very
much for everything that you guys do with the podcast.
I am married, I have a wife, and we've got
(12:44):
a son on the way. I have two daughters, Riley
and Emma, and I also have a son, Samuel. He's
the baby right now, but he won't be for much longer.
Come October, I'll be having another son by the name
of Brexton. I'm very grateful for what God has allowed
us to do as a family, and to see my
family grow and love the Lord just as much as
(13:05):
I do is great. I could not do this podcast,
I could not pastor without my wife. I'm very grateful
my wife, Brittany. She stands by my side. She supports
my dreams. She at times she asked me, how do
you have time to do this? I say, I don't know,
but I make it work. And she's very supportive of
(13:25):
the podcast. She loves the scene. She'll ask me from
week every week, where's the podcast that this week? What's
going on in the podcast this week? What are we
talking about in the podcast? She enjoys the podcast just
as much as I do. And Brittany is a registered nurse,
so she stays busy as well as well as a
pastor's wife. But I could not ask for any I
(13:47):
could not ask for a better support system than my family.
My dad Pastor's Word in Baptist Church in Wilkesboro, North Carolina.
My dad has been in the ministry right I guess
over thirty five years now. Him and my mom has
been a great influence on my life. I'm very grateful
for them. I'm grateful that they raise me in a
(14:09):
Christian home that put me on the right track of
being a Christian. My dad has his own podcast, it
is Preached the Word podcast with Pastor Elliott Smith. He
uploads his sermons weekly and I help manage that podcast
for him, so I'm very grateful for that opportunity to
be able to do that for him as well. Again,
(14:32):
thank you so very much for listening to Just the
Bible Will Do podcasts and this segment of Jump In
with Jonathan that is a little bit about me, the host,
Pastor Jonathan Smith. We do have some interviews coming up
over the next couple of weeks. I'm looking forward to
getting those out and if you would like to come
on the podcast, feel free to go to our website
(14:52):
Just the Bible Will Do dot Com. You can fill
out a contact for him, or if you would like
for me to come on your podcast talk about different
different topics or whatever. You say, Well, I don't have
a biblical podcast. I've got a what's the word I'm
looking for a just a regular podcast. We talk about politics,
(15:15):
or we talk about music, or we talk about whatever.
One thing you'll learn about me. I can talk pretty
much about any topic out there, very well versed. You
can go to my website, Just the Biblewilldo dot com.
Click at the top page it says interview Pastor Jonathan Smith.
My calendar is up and open, so you should be
(15:36):
able to go on there and request the time to
interview me, or you can send me a message on
the website and I would get back to you as
soon as possible. Guys, the reason that we do this
is not to bring glory and honor for ourselves, but
it's to bring glory and honor to God. I could
not do this podcast a without you, be without the
(15:58):
help of God. You say, do you ever get tired
of I absolutely do. Do you ever get burned out
from time to time? It takes a lot for me
to get burned out. Do you enjoy doing the podcasting? Absolutely?
I do. What is your favorite part of the podcast?
I will be honest with you. I'm a very I
love statistics. I love seeing the podcast being downloaded all
(16:22):
over the world, not just the United States, Canada, Mexico, Spain, Portugal,
the UK, all of these different places that the podcast
is downloaded blows nigh and I am very, very grateful
(16:43):
for you guys that allow that. And I at the
end of the day, somebody came to me the other
day and they said, hey, I really enjoy the podcast.
I appreciate what you do. And I said, listen, it's
not what I do, it's what God allows me to do.
I cannot do this without the help of God. I
could not do this without the touch of God. I
could not do this without the ability that God has
(17:03):
given us and the understanding that God has given us.
I couldn't do this without my mentors, without my coaches.
I could not do this without all of these things.
You see, Preacher, you have a mentor and a coach.
I absolutely do. Why well, I'm a diehard Yankee baseball fan.
Aaron Judge is the greatest player in Major League Baseball today,
(17:27):
point blank. You know what. He still has a hitting coach,
He still has a building coach. He still has different
types of coaches in his life. And you know what,
it doesn't hurt him to have a coach, but it
helps him. The way I look at it as a
(17:51):
the way I look at it as a pastor today,
that a coach cannot hurt me, but a coach can
only help me. They look at your shrimps, they look
at your weaknesses, and they helped make you and mold
you into the person that you are. They helped fine
tune how you say things, how you present things, how
(18:14):
you can make things better, how you can promote things.
All of these different things that a coach and a
mentor can do. It's good to have a voice from
the outside, to be able to look on the inside
of what's going on in your life, in your podcast,
in your in your speaking engagements, in all of these
(18:36):
areas and saying, hey, you know what, that was really good,
but you could have took it to the next level.
You could have you could have done this different, You
could have done that different. You could have went about
it this way, you could have went about it that way.
And I appreciate that because the day that we stop
learning as believers, the day that we stop learning as people,
(18:58):
the day that we stop learning at all, is today
that we will fall and fail and hurt ourselves really bad.
And I always want to be able to learn. I
always want to have an open mind to learn more
and more and more and more. And the more we learn,
the more we can help others, the more we can share,
(19:20):
the more we can give, the more sacrifices you and
I can make. So always be apt to learn, be
apt to teach when it comes you're when it comes
your time to be somebody's mentor, to be somebody's coach.
Don't be scared, don't don't be afraid but say, you know,
(19:43):
you know what. I want to be that person that
takes somebody to the next level. I want to help them.
I want to see them succeed. I want to see
them grow, I want to see them go places in life.
And that's what you and I can do. Today. Again,
thank you so very much for listening to the podcast today.
(20:05):
I am Pastor Jonathan Smith. I look forward to coming
on the podcast each and every week to tell you
guys about what's going on. I enjoy coming on the
podcast and sharing the gospel. I enjoy uploading the sermons
that I preach on Sundays, that I preach on Wednesdays.
I enjoy all of that. I hope you have enjoyed
the Life of David that we have been teaching on
(20:26):
on Wednesday nights, and those are live from the pulpit
of Community Baptist Church that I teach those, So I
hope that you have thoroughly enjoyed that. Hey, thank you
so very much for listening to the podcast today. Again,
