(00:00):
Okay, we'll go in five fourthree two one. Can you hear me?
Okay, yeah, okay, fivefour three two one. Hello everybody.
Jake Barlowson, Josh Waggie here foranother edition of the King County Preps

(00:21):
Podcast. Another huge busy week asalways, Josh, we were just chatting
before we jumped down here. It'sgonna be football and volleyball and soccer before
we know it, but we stillgot some hoops for the next couple of
weeks. How are we feeling?Yeah, wow, definitely a busy time,
and you know, it's starting tofeel a little bit like like spring
could be coming and outstore sports couldbe coming. With the weather getting into

(00:44):
the kind of low forties, Iwas actually able to take some walks this
week without utterly freezing, you know, being outside for more than five minutes.
I was actually taking some longer walksand that felt good. And snow
started to mount a little bit.So I'm sure the football coaches and soccer
coaches and athletic directors are kind ofhappy about about that, because because they're
starting pretty soon. I mean, soccer and volleyball and football start practice next

(01:08):
week and then soccer can start.Actually, I think vieball starts a week
later, but but soccer can startgames not next week but the week after,
and then football and vibeball the weekafter that. So so a lot
a lot of things gonna down thepipeline. But we're still on a home
start to basketball. There's there's basicallytwo weeks left in the season, so

(01:30):
a lot of basketball it will beplayed. So so that's what we'll be
talking about today. Um, youknow, but a lot of other sports
that we'll be talking about in thefuture. So, you know, speaking
of basketball, UM, I thinkmaybe we should probably start with the basketball
that's being played at Burlington Central HighSchool. On both the boys side and
the girls side. They're both leadingthe fox By Conference. UM. I

(01:51):
read a story this week from Joesteven Center, colleague at Northwest Harold at
Burlington's beating their conference opponents by almosteighteen points a game. Um. Their
only loss was to Niko Valley, which No. Shane and Niko Valleys at
four a school and a really goodteam. And I, as Burlington Central
girls said, they lost the game, yet they undefeated. I think they're
undefeat it, right, So,uh, you know, a lot a

(02:14):
lot of great scenes going on atBurlington CenTra and you've you've had a chance
to see both the boys and thegirls play. You're gonna be seeing the
Burlington Central girls to night in areally kind of interesting game against against Bartlett
UM, a non conference game. They got scheduled pretty much on the run
at the last minute because Dundee Crownunfortunately their girls basketball team went on COVID

(02:36):
quarantine. Um so Burlington Central GirlsBasketball Progum sent out a basically a fee
or Thursday afternoon saying hey, wewe're looking for a game not only to
mark today but next Friday, becauseCrystal Lake Central went on quarantine as well,
and Bartlett kind of stepped forward andsaid, hey, we'll play you
and that should be a great gametonight with with with the town at Burlington

(02:59):
with Wells and Charles and then you'veseen Bartlett two with Lexei sat player because
it be a great game. Yeahyeah, I mean, if if you're
looking for college level talents, youknow, and to see them in action,
this is probably one of the bettergames that you're going to get,
definitely in the regular season with Alanawith Taylor in the Burlington side and Lexei
and Mackenzie for for for Bartlett andthe Bartlett side again, I've seen them

(03:23):
a few times once earlier this year. Um, their backcourt is just outstanding.
Those two. They can really shoot, they can defend. Um,
They're really really tough to guard. But Burlington's built for it, um and
so I'm really looking forward to seeinghow that unfolds. Yeah, you know,
that would be a game that I'mnot really sure if those teams play

(03:44):
each other in the non conference normallyobviously in a shortened season, you're not
playing as many games, um,and in a postseason they wouldn't play each
other because Bartlett's four a but um, but man, what a game that
be sort of like a postseason feeljust as two teams that if we did
have a postseason, I think theywould aspirations to both go really uh deep

(04:04):
into playoffs. And Burlington, whatcan you say about the start they've had
with with a Lanta playing great TaylorCharles is just seems to a blended seamlessly
with what Burlington Central likes to doand and uh and just a great start
for them and the boys too, with with Zak Schmidt and all and all
of his teammates. Yeah, it'sit's a really good time to be at

(04:26):
Burlington Central student and you know, being able to follow your classmates and your
teammates on the basketball side for sure. UM can't say enough good things about
both programs. UM, you know, and you know we'll kind of dabble
into both guys and girls, butyou know, these are teams that are
you know, our experience that they'vebeen playing for for a while. I
mean they're still you know, weavingin some but you know, when you
have a Lana you know that's beenplaying since refreshman year, UM, and

(04:50):
then you add in some pieces aroundher, you're going to have a relatively
seamless you know, starts of theyear and sustain it with the guys same
type of thing they graduated. Youknow a few you know, Josh Hudgens,
Jack lynch Chaw, huge pieces onthat team. But then you have
you know, Zack Schmidt who's beenplaying since his freshman year, and you
have other guys that you know, they've been playing basketball together in their feeder

(05:12):
program, you know, since middleschool or even before. So there's just
so much familiarity that's awfully impressive. The way Brillington Central's boys team has played
this year. When you think aboutsome of the guys they graduated the last
couple of years with Patrick Mayfield,UM, with lench Ou with with hudgens
Um. There's some other guys thatthat I'm that I'm not naming right now,

(05:33):
but you know, to graduate thatkind of talent, I mean sometimes
in high school, Uh, ifyou have a couple of really good classes
or talent graduate, then you maybehave one or two kind of down years,
especially playing in a league that theyjoined last year that that's got some
maybe bigger schools and tougher opponents.Um, but they obviously have not missed
a b because they have really they'vereally run right through the run, right

(05:56):
through the fox side conferences here.Yeah, and then they're just gonna really
good contributions from a lot of differentpeople. On the guy's idea of Carson
Siler. I talked to Andrew Sharnowskithe last time I had seen them,
and on these are guys that hadsome minor roles last year, but they
were working behind you know, thosenames that you mentioned, but a lot
of them learned you know from fromyou know, watching them practice and how

(06:17):
they you know, how they didtheir off season all of those things,
and then they're able to kind ofadd their own twists into it. So
you know, it's really just agood mix of you know, putting in
the work and and and building upyou know, your role, and then
sustaining it once you get into theyear. So hats off, I mean,
and then it's attestaments to the coachingstaff too. I know we talked
a lot about these players, butum, you know Colin Collum Addis and

(06:40):
and Brett Porto, and they're they'regreat coaches. And there's a reason why
the programs are at the top ofthe conference. It's because of the stable
structure at the top two. Yeah, no doubt about it. So a
lot of great things going on outthere. And uh in Rocket Hill or
what what what they call in andJake will be there tonight for a very
good game against Marlow, so lookforward to that. Uh, let's switch

(07:01):
the Duquean Conference. Um that that'skind of a bunched up league with Saint
Charles North and Wheaton Wrenville South inthe league. But but but definitely,
you know, with with almost halfthe conference season left, uh, you
know, still a number of teamscan compete. Um. I'm not sure
if he saw this the other night, but Trent sona from Batavia at the
three high thirty two points, reallyimpressed performance room against Saint Charles East.

(07:26):
I saw him them against Wheaton Northa couple of weeks ago. And you
know, while Ethan Ivan was probablythe most impressive player, uh, and
he's had a very nice year fromBatavia, I was impressed with Trent's ability
to kind of get to the basketa little bit, um, you know,
kind of penetrate and work off ofEthan and obviously a great game for
him the other night. Yeah,I mean, what can you say.

(07:46):
I mean, thirty two points careerhigh. Congrats to him. Um.
You know, I haven't seen Bataviayet in person, but just seeing Trent
play last year and and and havingthat experience with Ethan, I mean,
they again, these these are guysthat you know, had varsity experience,
you know, Dave back last year, and so they're familiar with the speed,
They're familiar with how they do defense. I mean, so much of
what Patavia does is motion oriented, especially at offense. You've got to be

(08:09):
swinging, swinging the basketball around ifyou're playing for Batavia, um, and
so yeah, they're they're off toa really nice start. And Trench Trench.
I mean, he's a sneakily goodathletic player. I've always enjoyed his
game. I didn't to see it, you know, so far this year,
but last year I always just thoughtlike just an enjoyable watch. Yeah
yeah, so great performance by himfor Batavia and there. I think they're

(08:33):
about maybe a game behind the conference. Like I said, right now,
Saint Charles North the weed worm himSouth. They lead in that conference,
but still a lot of things tobe determined in that league. And you
know, good going in the wayyou mentioned Saint Charles North. They got
to win the other night against WinburnNorth. Kind of a workman like the
victory that you know. I thinkClenburn North was a little bit shorthanded from

(08:54):
what I heard. Um, theyhad a number of players, at least
a few players that would normally playedbasketball that did not because they're preparing for
football. Um. Fortunately I haven'theard about too many schools that have had
that situation where kids decided not toplay basketball, but it apparently was the
case. But but but North,um, you know, gets to win

(09:15):
Ethan marlol at fourteen, I thinkto love at twelve. Um, so
um, I don't think like coachPoolan was was just overjoyed with their performance.
Um, but you know they getto win. They moved on,
and if I'm not mistaken, UM, I think they played Wheaton South this
weekend and one of those uh SundaySunday matinee games that they're having, so

(09:37):
some some North moves on. Ithink, if I'm not mistaken, you
wrote about a young man that comesoff the bench for them or maybe he's
starting now. Just yeah, yeah, what what what? What can you
tell us about him? Justin's justa great shooter. You know, you
talk to any of his teammates andthey'll tell you he's like, uh yeah,
he's the best shooter on our team. I mean to talk to Ethan

(09:58):
and you just like they're they're hiabout it. They get it. Um,
he's just a weapon. I meanhe he finds a spot on the
floor and and if he if hehas an open look, he's got the
green light. He's gonna shoot itand it goes down. So, UM,
I haven't talked to the young manyet, you know myself, but
just talking with other teammates, theygo. They low about not only shooting

(10:18):
ability, but but putting in timein the in the weight room, in
the gym, and and you know, practicing hard. All those things all
good qualities you know, to tocarve out, you know, a varsity
role, especially early on, youknow, as a as a sophomore junior.
I think he's a sophomore. Um, you know, to to carve
out a consistent role in varsity,do those things, and yeah, you're
gonna play and and and it's payingoff for him. Yeah, yeah,

(10:41):
no doubt about that. So soit hads off to justin for for a
good start to his season. Youmentioned a good shooter. You know,
is there a better shooter in thein the in the Tri Cities area than
they Valentine? You know, Iwill say though about geneva is is that
I think some other guys are gonnahave to score it to help him out
a little bit. Um, youknow the other nine, Uh they're playing

(11:01):
the game. I think it wasagainst wheedon North and Uh and Nate.
I think he was quote unquote heldto about fourteen points. But um,
you know other guys the game thatyou were at where hit the game win
he shotty I think he scored thirtythree or forty points, So obviously he's
going to be the focal point. And he's a great player, a great
shooter. But you know, Ithink other guys are going to kind of

(11:22):
step up to help him out alittle bit because teams are going to start
to really really focus on him.Yeah. I mean, like I said,
I wrote him that notebook two weeksago and or whatever it was maybe
three weeks ago. Now Nate's likehe literally told me, He's like,
it is no secret that I canshoot. Like every every team knows that.
So you know, yeah, youdo. You do need more contributions,
you know from that team. Andand they have guys they got they

(11:43):
have guys that can play seriously.I mean, Dylan Foozac is a really
nice forward. Definitely a lot ofrebounding energy. Um, I think he's
a little uh underrated, I guesswith his with his three point shooting ability.
But he'll he'll he'll shoot at ChrisGroup can shoot the three. Quinn
mcneeve if he's got an open look, he's he can put down a couple
of shots. They have, theyhave the guys, you know, but

(12:07):
there's just you know, and Wewere talking with coach Hunning about this after
the North game. He's just like, there's there's not a there's not a
Josh Preston this year. There's notallowed in love. There's not a you
know, a Jack McDonald, theguy that you know, you just run
everything through those guys. Nate's prettyclose. But but he's not. I
don't know if he's that echelon yetof of you know, just on the

(12:28):
Geneva hierarchy of great players in thelast four or five six years. Yeah,
McDonald is kind of at a ata level onto a unto himself,
you know, not only as ashooter, but but man as not as
good a playmaker and just kind offloor general as you're ever gonna see.
And Nate's great, Like, Nate'sa great athlete too. Like that's not
a slight either. Oh yeah, most enjoyable kids. I've enjoyed watch basketball,

(12:50):
um, you know, for thelast for the last several years.
So um. But but anyway, you know, genieves and like I said
that that Ducane Conference is still youknow, anybody's ballgame. M A number
of things can happen, just areally kind of really kind of very well
contested league. I don't think there'sthere's a dominant team in that league.

(13:11):
Um, so, so we'll seewhat happens. Uh It just kind of
lunch French and mainly I'll be inKanelin or at Kane One tonight. They're
gonna play point All. The firsttime those two teams played, that game
went over time kme one one,So first time seeing the Knights. Kind
of interested to see what Jamari Meeksand the team you know, you know
it has this year. So uhso we'll be coming out tonight before we

(13:33):
go over to the girls side.I mentioned the Duke Kane conference about just
how bunched up it is. AndI got to see Weed Wrenville South for
the first time last Saturday. AndParker Brown, who I mean, I
think you and I both follow thesocial media and everything going on in a
fall um and just uh the kidswanting to play and return to play and
let us play and everything and andParker Brown was probably as um kind of

(13:56):
vocal um and led the charge. Is probably as much as the athlete at
least that I know of. Imean, I know there's a lot of
them, but he was definitely upthere. I mean, he was spoken
a couple of rallies, and hewas very president of social media. He
gave a number of interviews to thateffect. And and obviously we're playing now,
and let me tell you, ParkerBrown is playing like a kid that
he was desperate to get out thereand play. Becauzette kid. He plays

(14:22):
they say, like with their hairon fire. He plays that way.
I mean, he is a guard, but he rebounds quite crazy for a
guard, and he seems like he'sall over the floor. And I saw
him to play wheat North last Saturday, and it was back and forth.
Game could have gone either way,and in about three minutes left, he
just stored in for a rebound andlike in one motion, made an unbelievable

(14:46):
pass to his teammate Tower Fosset fora go ahead basket. They went on
to win, and Parkerd is quaitegreat and just hats off to him,
because you know, it's one thingfor a kid to say, man,
we really want to play. Butthen when he goes out there, he's
playing like he wanted to play.I mean, so so great work for
that young man, not only onthe court, but off the court as

(15:07):
well. Yeah, a lot ofvaluable life applications, you know, from
that experience and to handle Yeah, you're right, because he really was on
the forefront. I mean there wasa lot of interviews, you saw a
lot of different tweets and things.Yeah, I mean there's there's pressure with
that and you have to kind oflearn how to handle it and everything that
comes along with it. And hehas. And you know, he obviously

(15:28):
he's the quarterback to on the onvarsity football team, so you know,
he's he's not a stranger to talkingto people like you and me from media,
you know, so yeah, hattalk. Yeah. So I mean,
obviously he's gonna be on the he'sgonna be on the football field in
a few weeks. His quarterback ofthat football team and his basketball coach,
Mike Keely said, find me aplayer that plays harder than that kid in

(15:48):
the state. And let me tellyou, Mike Keely, if he's saying
about you, then he probably lovesyou. Because Mike Keely, if anybody
coaches harder than that than that coach, let me find tell me who that
is. Because he really really wearshard on the sleeve and and really gets
out there. So so it hatsoff to Parker and and and Wheat and
South again. They play Saint CharlesNorth this weekend. We'll see, um

(16:10):
what happens there. UH went BartWest. I talked to know with them
quite a bit. They keep rolling. They're undefeated. Boy, they're beaten.
They're beaten. Team is pretty good. Braden Huff, he's a kid
to really to keep an eye on, not only this year but next year.
He's six nine, six ten. He's gonna have a lot of teams
knocking on his door. And he'shaving a great year. UH for Glenbard

(16:30):
West and they are undefeated. UMAnd finally oswego East down in Kendal County,
they are tied for the league.UH in the in the Southwest Prairie
West. They're going for their thirdstraight conference title. UM. A really
good junior class that I talked aboutin previous podcasts that went twenty seven and
all on sophomores last year. UM. I got to to talk to a

(16:52):
couple of their kids that are maybehe scored under radar type players. They're
not. They're like star players, leading scorers. But they're twin brothers Darren
and Devon Oregon guards and just reallygreat kids, respectful, great sports.
You know, great, great teammates. Uh. They play great defense,
you know, shoot a little bitand getting it done in the classroom too.

(17:15):
They both have like three point sevenGPAs and their coach, Ryan Valaska
is just couldn't say enough good thingsabout them, and just they're the kind
of guys that, again, youknow, there's guys that you have your
star players, and then there's theguys that you build your program on.
It's like building blocks that you know, when things aren't going well in practice,

(17:37):
they kind of step forward and takea lead or they set an example
for the guys that come after them. And every program hopefully has players like
that. And for US Weego East, it's these two kids and just great
job their their parents. Their momis a teacher and a coach at Hubble
Middle School and Wheaton and played atNIU and and they're obviously doing some great

(17:59):
things. So so so great workby them and uh and look forward to
seeing how they do going forward thisyear and next. Um. So that
that's a rap on the boys side, on a girl's side. We already
talked about Burlington Central a little bit. Maybe we'll talk about some of the
key teams in the Duquesne Conference.Tell me about some of the teams you've
seen recently. I think, uh, Saint Charles North And actually I take

(18:22):
that back. You Sawbatavia and SaintCharles East on Tuesday night. I did,
yeah, and I saw it SaintCharles East and North the previous Saturday.
Yeah, I'll start with Batavia.Um. You know, obviously we've
talked enough about Brook and Tests thatthey're great. Um. The one thing
I would like to add is isClara Ozos is a really talented player.

(18:45):
She's five five, she's not thetallest player out in that court, but
she plays really hard and she justkind of knows where she needs to be
in order to make plays. Wetalked a lot about how her shot hasn't
really been falling this year, andshe's a really good three point shooter.
So then how do you find yourways to get involved in the game.
And she's doing that in defense andrebounding. She's five five and she had

(19:08):
seven rebounds against you know East. She'll get in there. Um. Coach
Jensen. Kevin Jensen talked about howhe's she's just really important to what they
do at the bottom of their zone. UM, and it really showed in
that game against Saint Charles East,So hats off to her. Um.
Batavia is playing really really well.Um and and they're and they have they're

(19:29):
playing a bunch of different rotations. You know, they had about nine or
ten girls that are playing. Sothere's there's fresh bodies in there, uh
and there, and they're getting playingtime on the Saint Charles East side a
little bit of a difficult tough stretchfor then they've lost three in the you
know, three or four in thelast week. M battling some injuries as
well. Sorry, there's a littlebit of feedback. Yeah, they're they're

(19:52):
they're freshman guard. I know alexisum maritas that I'm pronouncing her um,
yeah, meredis her and Tory hurtand did not play against Batavia the other
night. If I'm not mistaken, right, they did play. Tory injured
her ankle in that game. Okay, I you know I read somebody.

(20:12):
Yeah, I think I think Torydid not play the following night that it
wouldn't surprise me. I mean sheshe didn't Wednesday evening, she did not
play. Um, they played Ibelieve um Dundee Crown they played Wednesday night
and neither of them played. Uhso, um, you know, it's
it's tough for any team to tosucceed when you're missing two of your best

(20:34):
players. Um, hopefully they canget back on the court soon because because
He's was off to a pretty nicestart to the season. Yeah, it
just seems like they're they're struggling withjust getting in sync. You know,
there's just been a lot of turnovers, um that I've seen in the last
couple of games from them. Ialso want to add in it is Corton,
it is not court hand and hiscourt and I've checked with her and

(20:56):
she still it is no, no, it's it's fine. That's fine.
Um, But Saint Charles East hasjust gotta cut down on some of the
turnovers and the mistakes and and andI think that they would be in more
positions to win games, you know, on the fourth quarter once that happens.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, nowthat that's true, that's true.
I mean there's still a pretty youngteam. I mean Tory is only a

(21:19):
junior, and obviously they're playing,uh some freshmen that are contributing as well.
So see what happens with that.Saint Charles North, Um, what
what did you see from them onSaturday? I know Aaron's her first name,
right, Aaron Sack, And shehad a pretty nice game for them,
And he wrote about her this week. Yeah, I did for my
for my notes. The thing withher is I and I told Mike Tom

(21:42):
Jack this at the ANGK and shejust like she catches my eye when she
gets on the court, you know, the same type of thing. Just
a really solid player, knows whereshe needs to go on the offense.
Um, good shooter, improved defensethis year. Um. And we talked
a lot about how with her.You know, she worked behind Caroline Jokaidas
last year in that rotation. Iknow Caroline didn't play very much, um,

(22:03):
you know, given a situation, but she worked, you know,
behind her. And the one thingthat Aaron had talked about was like I
need to improve my post presence andimprove my post game and so we talked
about that type of thing. Butjust another nice piece for this North team
that has a lot of nice piecesall coming together. You know, We've
talked about Unlessa Hughes, We've talkedabout I'm a Ludwig. We've taught you

(22:25):
know, so there's there's just alot of Nice Talia, Pola Green and
Tatum to Settlemyre. I mean, they just have a lot of nice pieces
and in the normal year they wouldprobably be in contention for a regional title,
if not maybe a little more.Yeah yeah, yeah, definitely And
and and we'll see if they canyou know, post it in the Decay
Conference. Again, that's a leaguethat Um, I'm not sure who's leading

(22:48):
that conference, but I know it'spretty bunched up between both Wheaton Schools,
Saint Charles North. You know,Geneva's probably somewhere in the mix as well.
So I mean it's going to comedown to the final weekend of the
season. I'm sure. I knowGeneva lost to Wheat North the other night,
but um, no shame Americas.Wheat North is is a really good
team and one of the better teams, um that I've seen this year.

(23:11):
Uh. You know, before Italk about some teams outside of Kane County,
you got to see Kanlin the othernight against Sandwich and uh and good
for Chloe Connelly back on the court, uh and was able to enjoy senior
night and they got a win againsta good Sandwich team and obviously did a
pretty good job defense the week atSandwich not score many points at night,

(23:33):
No they didn't. Yeah, we'lltalk about Canlin first. Um, you
know, we talked about Chloe's youknow, come back from the ACL injury
before fully healthy, and she's areally nice player. I've said they spent
a lot of different players, butshe can definitely shoot. You know,
she definitely has a charismas who wereum as a leader of this team.
And then you have Kyli Hula Beckywho um is equally as important. It's

(23:56):
you know to Canlin and what theydo offensively. The one thing with that
game was is I just felt likeSandwich, let's just not in sync.
You could just tell from tip itjust wasn't going to be their night.
Uh, several turnovers. I've onlyseen them, you know, this is
only my second time this year. You've seen them more frequently. But even
I know, you know, thisis a group that you know, back

(24:17):
to back twenty win seasons, theirseasoned Claire Roberts, joey'sy ness, but
you know they they had plenty ofturnovers, which was just on characteristic of
them. Yeah. Yeah, andI know their their coach always sends a
pretty detailed report after the game, whether we cover the game or not.
So hats off to Chris Johnson forfor for reporting everything to the media.

(24:37):
And one of the things that hesaid is we just hope that tonight was
you know, one of those nightsfor the season and what's kind of move
on and play the rest of theyear, because I mean I don't think,
um, you know, with respectto kanele and I don't think that
those two teams are that far apart, you know, maybe margin wise.
I fully expected a much closer gamethan that. Um, I mean,

(25:00):
Sycamore is is definitely the class ofthe interstate a on the girl's side,
and then it's probably you know, maybe two or three teams after that,
and I would say Kaylin and Sandwichare probably two of those teams that are
probably on that next step. ButCaitlin, great night for them, So,
um, you know, happy forthem and happy that they were able
to get a good night like thaton senior night. Um. You know,

(25:22):
before we go, I'll talk aboutsome teams, uh, you know
outside the King County Y. Youmentioned Sandwich and I'll touch on them briefly.
Josie Ness, Uh, she isa girl that she came in as
a freshman, and I cover Sandwicha fair amount. She came in as
a freshman. She had a oldersister, Sarah, who was a guard
for them that was a very goodplayer, and she came in and she

(25:44):
was sort of like they're they're,you know, sixth person, first person
off the bench, and she reallymade an impression right off the bat and
had a great year for them.I remember she had a great regional game
against the arrival Sandwich and they areable to get a win there. And
then she started the next year andthey went thirty one zero in the record
season and just a magical year forthem, and they beat Kalin on Kalin's

(26:04):
home floor for a regional title,um first time they've ever have her regional
title. And in earlier this year, she became the winningest player in program
history, which really isn't all thatsurprising we consider before her freshman year,
they had had twenty five straight losingseasons and now they're gonna have four straight
winning seasons with her there. Soobviously it's team game. It's not just

(26:30):
her, but she is a bigpart of what they do, not only
on the court, but off Imean, she's the one that, like
I talked to her this week. She's the one that, you know,
this is a really weird time, you know, when when people are not
wearing their masks, probably she'll say, hey, you know, pull your
mask up for you know, herballs. In practice, she makes sure

(26:51):
that the balls are washed and disaffected, cleaning everything. Actually she said that,
she she said, I used myown ball because I know that I've
already cleaned it, so I knowthat we don't have to worry about that.
But just kind of little things thatyou normally have to do in a
season, and then she's doing it, you know, for things that are
kind of unique to this season. So you know, great work by her.
She's playing Eureka College next year,so and she's going to be a

(27:15):
teacher. Apparently Aid comes from thefamily full of teachers and she's gonna be
an elementary school teacher. So soreally happy to see that. And before
I go, m we eat oneof us out there girls, I've talked
to him about them before. Theyare going to be a team to watch,
not only this year but next. They start a freshman, a sophomore
in two juniors, and they beatwhet and North the arrival. Last week

(27:37):
they beat glen Bardis, who's areally good team. They're kind of on
a role. I think they wonfour or five in a row. Hannah
Struby, who's a freshman post she'sabout five to eleven. She had a
really big game for them against WheatonNor followed up with another one. She
had two sisters played before her.So a lot of good things going on
to that program, and again lookforward to seeing how they do the rest

(27:59):
of this year and going forward aswell. All good stuff, Josh.
I think before we wrap up,just a couple of things. Make sure
that you're following us on Twitter atJake Barlaston at Jaywalge ninety six King County

top games, whatever. You're goingto be doing the Duquesne Conference,
I'm doing the West Suburban and someothers. We're gonna basically every conference in
