Speaker 1 (00:15):
All eyes on the White House, Kate de lady here
at the helm of ATN I like to call the
shark Ury Board of talk Radio. I hope you had
a great weekend. Maybe you caught some of that preseason
NFL action or maybe you were knee deep in honeydo lists.
I don't know which. By the way, can go either way.
It was all about what happened in Alaska starting on Friday.

(00:39):
There were the typical photo ops, the shaking of the hands,
the red carpet, the incredible military escort of Putin in
and out of Alaska by our military. But in the end,
what happened after that historic Alaska meeting with Putin? Who

(01:04):
wants the dudesque regent in the Ukraine. It's a land
that he wants for sure, which we knew going into this.
Here's what President Trump said of the meeting. Mister President,
I'd like to thank you very much, and we'll speak
to you very soon and probably see you again very soon.
Thank you very much, Vladimir. The meeting was a very
warm meeting.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
You know, he's a strong guy, he's tough as hell
and all of that.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
But the bottom line is, nothing happened except for the
fact that more drones and more strikes went the way
of Ukraine afterwards. So now what's interesting is President Trump
is going to host Vladimir Zelenski on Monday for their
first meetings since they had that kind of heated exchange

(01:51):
in the White House. But that's ancient history. They've talked
on the phone since then and have moved the ball
way further down the field. This time is bringing European allies.
It's interesting. The Secretary General will be there, the UK's
Prime Minister, car Starmer is going to be there, and
other leaders will be there as well. McCrone from France

(02:14):
is going to be there. So it'll be a crowded
house so to speak of who's who on the world stage.
I mean you're talking about the Italian Prime Minister, the
German Chancellor. I mean, you get the list, that's who's
going to be at this meeting on Monday. So many
heads of state traveling with hardly any notice, by the way,

(02:36):
across the Atlantic to what is really a wartime crisis meeting.
This is very unprecedented, my friends, and it really shows
all of us. I think the high stakes game that's
going on here for sure, and what happens. Now there

(02:57):
is the concern what's gonna happen. Is there going to
be a press to get Zelensky to greed to terms
after he wasn't in the Trump Putin meeting last Friday
in Alaska. Secretary of State Mark Rubio told the BBC
that any suggestion that Zelensky might be bullied by our

(03:19):
president into accepting a peace deal was just a stupid
media narrative. So forget that. Wow, big, big, big, big day,
no question about it, all right. Speaking of big, Hurricane
Aaron isn't expected to directly hit the US coast, but

(03:41):
by doubling or tripling in size, the impacts could be
felt my friends along the Eastern seaboard. Here's Jesse Kirch,
who I happened to catch from NBC.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
We're expecting the storm to move north out to see,
missing a direct hit on the East Coast, moving between
the US mainland and Bermuda. But there will still be
some effects along the US East coast, notably rough surf
waves between ten and fifteen feet in North Carolina and
Virginia and dangerous rip cards.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
Whew, yeah, that is a sho ten to fifteen feet.
My family just got back. My cousins and my brother
and sister in law. They were all I couldn't do it.
They were all in a yearly thing that happens with
the fam. They were at the Outer Banks in North Carolina.
Because of the impacts there, a lot of places are

(04:33):
being told to evacuate. So they ordered an evacuation of
Hatteras Island, for example, starting on Monday, because you think
of the several days of heavy surf and high winds
and waves that could wash out part of Highway twelve,
which connects that vacation spot to the mainland. So that
would be your bigger concern. Now, the center of the

(04:54):
storm is supposed to stay at least two hundred miles
from the Outer Banks, but will also bring those you
just heard riptides along the East coast. So many people,
too many people have died from riptides this year in
a lot of different places. You cannot mess with riptides.

(05:14):
So I hope that people are paying attention to that
and not thinking, wow, this is a great time to
catch some waves. That's a scary time to catch some waves.
So Erin is the first Atlantic hurricane of twenty five.
We've been talking about Aaron reached that dangerous Cat five
Saturday maximum wins, then about one sixty. Then it weakened

(05:37):
a little bit, so then it goes down to one
twenty five on Sunday afternoon. You know, it's a major hurricane,
and that intensity fluctuates. So a hurricane is a hurricane,
and there is no definites in this now. Puerto Rico,
the rain and the wind, the outer bands of the
storm left about one hundred and fifty thousand people without power,

(05:59):
and they've certainly had that happen on the island before
the big swells affected the Virgin Islands, the Turks and
Caicos also, and they say that's gonna happen for the
next couple of days as well. The big news is
and I just looked at just even listening to Jesse
Kirsh there, I looked at the spaghetti models, and of

(06:20):
all the things that can happen with hurricanes, it seems
very unlikely exactly what was described. The fact that you're
gonna have massive, huge waves and you're gonna have riptides.
That is the big deal here. That's the biggest deal here,
all right. I think we need some good news, all right,

(06:49):
So here's what the good news is, in fact, there's
a lot of good news that we could talk about.
But one of the things I think that's so interesting
is we are a generous nation, right. I like when
people and they're not just always dumping off their the rattiest,
awful stuff, but people really will go through and look
for gently used clothes. I noticed this during the pandemic

(07:11):
and other things that they don't necessarily need anymore. And
so the National Association of Resale Professionals, I looked at
the number. There are twenty five thousand resale shops in
the United States, so thrift stores. It is National Thrift
Thrift Shop Day, and I wanted to mention a thrift

(07:34):
store I knew about called Saint John's Thrift Store for Missions.
And this is in a place called winter Haven, Florida.
And I know about it because of my aunt Nancy,
who loves, loves, loves this project and volunteers and they
have wonderful volunteers there. And what's so cool about this

(07:56):
place is the money that they generate from the store
is used to sponsor a whole bunch of different charities
all around Florida, all kinds of different things, like a
Methodist Children's home like a Project of Love, which is
non medical assistance or Angels Care, and they even have

(08:19):
support for other areas plenty in Florida and in the
United States, but also clean water filter system in Cuba,
or supporting a couple of missionaries in East Angolas. So
congratulations to all the people who volunteer there and do
hard work in some of the other places that are similar.
How about a round of applause. I'll meet you on

(08:46):
the flip for Odds and Ends. Terence Stamp dead at
eighty seven, we're in talking about actor Terence Stamp coming

(09:12):
up here in Odds and Ends. He played General Zod
if you go way back in Superman, he was in
The Lime, He was in so many great things. He
was in my one of my all time top five
favorite movies. Are you curious as to what made my list?
You will hear in a matter of moments. But first,
did you know, and maybe you're not surprised by this,

(09:34):
but over sixty seven point four percent of American adults
consume alcohol. In twenty twenty two, twenty three point five
percent of American adults reported they engaged in binge drinking
in at least one month a year. How do they
come up with that one month a year? So the
percentage of airline and airport staff, including pilots and mechanics

(09:57):
and dispatchers, ground security, air traffic controllers that tested at
or below the alcohol limit in if we roll back
the calendar because this is the last I've got in
twenty fifteen, was about zero point two percent. So that's
like one hundred and nineteen out of fifty six thousand tested.

(10:19):
And the FAA has this kind of you know, data
on is there an increase or a decrease or what
seems to be happening, And at the time they said
it seemed like it was creeping up because of course
there are very strict rules about that that pilots agree
to and others that mechanics, et cetera that work in

(10:40):
the airline business. So there was a drunk pilot, a
Southwest Airline pilot named David Alsop, who was arrested for
DUI shortly before a scheduled flight after TSA officers reported
that he smelled of alcohol, and just recently the the

(11:04):
audio and video of how they administered the test to
him before the flight took off. Can you imagine that
you're sitting there and the pilot is being tested just
like you or I would be if the car was
pulled over right where we have to we have to
do different tests like walk a straight line and that

(11:26):
kind of thing. And here is first the TSA call
and then the test that they actually administered.

Speaker 4 (11:34):
Reporting a pilot christ as the pilot is currently located
on the plane at.

Speaker 5 (11:41):
Gates too, where's the last time I saw the drinks
last night?

Speaker 1 (11:46):
About how many hours ago?

Speaker 6 (11:48):
Uh like ten hours ago or at.

Speaker 5 (11:50):
Least the signs that you exhibited during those three tests
and the odor coming off of your person, it's very consistent.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
With the I mean, this was a fifty two year
old pilot with twenty years of experience at Southwest. The
flight that he was the captain on was a flight
that was going from Savannah and Hilton Head International Airport
to Chicago Midway, and it was because of that TSA
officer that reported that that they stopped him before the

(12:22):
takeoff and did what you just heard there. When he
was confronted, he had the bloodshot eyes. You heard what
they were saying there. He admitted he had had a
few beers ten hours prior to the flight. He said
he had three Miller lte piers. Initially, he refused to
take the field sobriety tests, saying they were unnecessary, but
later he complied he failed two out of the three

(12:46):
tests that they did, so of course he was removed
from the cockpit arrested. This happened in January. He was
charged with DUI and his pilot certification certification rather was
of course revoked by the FAA, and he was removed
from duty and that was it, and the passengers were
sent on other flights, and it caused the delay. But

(13:07):
his attorney is claiming that the arrest was unwarranted and
arguing that the sobriety tests were not conducted properly and
saying that he is an American hero with a clean record.
And the incident, of course, has raised concerns about airline
safety and protocols for ensuring the pilots are okay to fly.
That's why I told you what I told you the

(13:29):
numbers in the beginning of this, because you got to
think about this, the lives, the souls on board, and
how a pilot and we were seeing this when we
do flight maares how a pilot has to react to
certain things. How critical it is as far as safety
in aviation and the measures that would have to be taken.

(13:49):
You know, you've got to prevent impaired people from operating aircraft.
We were humans, and there are going to be when
you have a big pull people, there are gonna be
people that will break that chain. And he it's certainly
by all accounts, looks like he was that guy. So,
I mean, they said he reeked of booze and he

(14:11):
was escorted by the cops off the plane, and you
know that was it. He was booted. There. That has
happened before, but on you know, an easy Jet pilot
was booted after a marathon drinking binge at a resort,
and so there have been other incidents of it, but

(14:32):
this was a This was pretty egregious. And you know
that he was pulled because he was trying to fly
while impaired. With the lawyer, like I said, is saying
that's not right. He was not at all at all impaired. Scary, right,
So let's move on from what's happening in the skies,

(14:56):
and trust me, there's more. I mean, there are more
things that are going on, Like all these four people
in Canada. The Air Canada, they're dealing with their own
strike situation. They thought they're resuming flights and they resumed
flights supposedly today on Sunday after the Canadian government intervened

(15:18):
and forced the airline and it's striking flight attendance back
to work and into arbitration. But the strike stranded one
hundred thousand travelers around the world during the peak summer
season because a lot of people were flying into Canada
around Canada. Know, people in the northeast sometimes where they
just bop over, it's better where they just go right

(15:41):
over the bridge basically for lack of a better way
to describe it, and they can grab an Air Canada
flight somewhere. So how about that. Yeah, I mean the
collective bargaining agreement. They're having big arguments about hours and
pay and you know all the things in between that
we see when something like this happens. But it was
really crippling to so many people. Sharks in the water again,

(16:05):
it is the summer of a shark attacks, right. So
as of the end of July, and I think I
even said the statistic the other day, there have been
thirty five reported shark attack bites worldwide and one of
the attacks since that is this chance armand who was

(16:31):
He was with his buddies and some family members from Oklahoma.
He's in Florida. He lives in Florida, and he was
spear gun fishing, and he talks about what happened.

Speaker 5 (16:42):
Shot him at sixty five feet and started pulling him
in to secure the fish, keep it from struggling in
the water column and attracting sharks. And about fifty five
feet I decided I needed to look down for some reason.
Spidy senses were going off, and I saw that bull
shark come flying up from the bottom. Yeah. I bit

(17:03):
my leg as soon as he hit my leg and
realized it wasn't the fish. He did let go, didn't
chew on me or anything. Thankfully, it could have been
way worse if he decided to gnaw on me for
a little bit and went down to the end of
my shaft, took the fish and swam back down to
the bottom. I continued my ascent from fifty five to
the surface and got to the surface and had my

(17:26):
buddy divers on the surface ready to help me out.
Let them know that there was a shark in the
water and I had been bit. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (17:34):
The good news is he had stitches, he was bleeding.
He survived it, and he's back fishing once again, but
being very careful about when he reels the fish. In
Terrence Stamp, the actor dies at the age of eighty seven.
He was in one of my favorite movies, a movie
called Yes.

Speaker 2 (17:53):
Man, I'd like to welcome on new members.

Speaker 7 (18:00):
Among you is new.

Speaker 1 (18:01):
He is this guy right here, he's new over here.

Speaker 8 (18:06):
Come on up future, Yes man, that's okay.

Speaker 1 (18:11):
I'm just auditing. You can't audit life, my friend.

Speaker 2 (18:18):
Now get on up here.

Speaker 5 (18:20):
No thanks, I'm cool.

Speaker 8 (18:22):
I'm sorry. What was that you said?

Speaker 5 (18:27):
I said I'm cool before that.

Speaker 6 (18:32):
Thank you?

Speaker 2 (18:34):
Back up just a little bit more.

Speaker 1 (18:37):
No, no, oh, hey, the mold hill won't come to Terrance.
He goes down to Jim Carrey and it was wild.
That movie is a good movie. If you haven't seen Yes, ma'am,

(18:58):
you have to see it, because I think you'll left
your head off. And maybe not, maybe my taste is
different than yours. He was in a ton of other movies,
of course. He was named by Empire as one of
the one hundred sexiest film stars of all time. In
ninety five. He's had a ton of accolades for his acting,
and I'm sure you would recognize him if you don't

(19:19):
know his name, from a few things that you've probably
seen along the way to the weekly rewind, including the
National Guard in DC. Next. It seems like every week

(19:49):
is a big week, but certainly last week was so
much happened, including the presence of the National Guard heavy
in d time for the weekly rewine w yep. So
it was last Tuesday when the Guard started to trickle

(20:12):
in to parts of d C. Eight hundred total will
be all over DC when it's all said and done,
maybe even a little bit more than that. So, for example,
West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrissey announced over the weekend he's
deploying members of the West Virginia National Guard to Washington,
DC in support of the Trump administration's efforts to ramp

(20:35):
up military presence in the nation's capital. Here is Carolyn
Levitt last week, the White House Press Secretary, talking about
why this is necessary.

Speaker 5 (20:48):
We are removing as many criminals from the streets, and
we are cleaning up.

Speaker 1 (20:52):
DC as best as we can and working with the
Metropolitan Police Department to do that. And then there's reacts
from people who live in DC, including Darryl Gaston, who
owns a restaurant.

Speaker 8 (21:07):
We can always use more more police, right, but I
think having police officers that are from the community, that
are trained locally is much different than having a federal
police as not trained in community policing.

Speaker 1 (21:21):
As of now, heading into next week, like I said,
there will be eight hundred members of the National Guard
at least by the end of the week. They're hoping
that'll happen, and there is a chance too that they're
going to be armed. There are some aspects of this
that still have to eventually get approved by Congress if
it's going to go beyond the thirty days, because Trump

(21:42):
said that wasn't enough to crack down on crime in Washington,
that you need more than thirty days to do that.
He said earlier in the week last week, when you
walk down the street, you're going to see police, You're
gonna see FBI agents. We're gonna have a lot of
agents on the street. You're gonna have a lot of
of essential military, and we're going to bring in the

(22:03):
military if it's completely needed. So then there was some questions,
what does that mean it means that the law enforcement
agents can assist local police with patrolling and executing warrants
in the city and doing all of that, and like
I said, being armed is the next thing that happens.

(22:25):
And there's been some blowback from it, and there's been
some others that say thumbs up. But you got tourist
heavy areas like Union Station, National Mall rather and there
is the increased military and law enforcement presence where they're
walking around and you know they're there and whatnot. There's
conversation even about maybe some other cities that would have

(22:49):
something similar happen in Texas. The concern there is redistricting.
The Texas redistricting process is underway. In June, Texas lawmakers
began considering a redistricting plan aimed at moving some of
the districts obviously, and that would mean seats because if

(23:10):
you look at the areas, so that would be five
more Republican pickups, which is needed if you look at
the midterms. So that was the political tension that started
to escalate between the Democrats and the Republicans, not just
in the Great State of Texas. Texas Governor Greg Abbott
issued a warning to the Democrats who fled so there

(23:31):
wouldn't be a quorum so they could take a vote
on redistricting.

Speaker 9 (23:36):
We have Texas law enforcement scouring the state to find
out if there's any Democrat in the state of Texas
that can be taken out the capitol. Second, we are
working with law enforcement and taking other actions in other
parts of the country to see if we can uncover
any Democrat who can be brought back to the state.
To put that in context, we have a what's called
a quorum break. In order for us to be able

(23:57):
to pass legislation, it requires a quorum or two thirds
of the Texas House membership to show up. There are
eighty eight Republicans and we need one hundred votes to
make quorum. So we're looking for twelve Democrats to make
sure we're going to be able to be able to
vote on these maps as well as to address very
important things such as helping the flood victims in Central Texas.

Speaker 1 (24:20):
And so here's the latest on that the Texas House
Democrats who left the state are taking place or they
did take part rather in this nationwide fight the Trump
takeover protest on Saturday. The Democrats are returning on Monday,
but they continue to argue that Texas redistricting plans are

(24:42):
unfairly taking place in the middle of the decade instead
of in conjunction with the national once a decade census.
As I said, the Texas maps would add five Republican
seats in Congress. So you've got activists holding rallies in
thirty four states. It was over the weekend and they're

(25:04):
continuing into next week from what I understand. And then
you have nationwide, some states like California's Governor Gavin Newsom
who said his state is also going to redistrict in
order to counter act Texas's move. So there may be
a lot of this going on in the next couple

(25:25):
of months, maybe throughout the time period because also Governor
Kathy Hockel in New York and Kentucky Governor Andy Brisher,
there's been conversation as to what could possibly happen in
Kentucky and what could happen in New York, and what
could happen in Illinois. So another one of those stay tune,

(25:50):
big moment, big moment. Last week. Jen Powell, who is
Jen Powell? She's an American baseball umpire who became the
first female Major League baseball umpire when she debuted August ninth.
His historic behind the plate. So exciting to see this,
and she was excited too. Here's what she said.

Speaker 4 (26:12):
We walked the field early as a crew, and then
Guts and I really good at each other, and I said.

Speaker 1 (26:19):
This is it, like this is what we worked for.

Speaker 4 (26:22):
So I think it hit me then. And then we
had a really special moment at the end where right
when they were doing the final picture check for the
top of the ninth, we kind of hugged and stuff
and like really hit me. It seemed like quite a
few people started clapping and saying my name and stuff.
So that was pretty intense and very very emotional. So

(26:45):
the dream actually came true. Today, I'm just so thankful.

Speaker 1 (26:50):
That was last week and it was a game between
the Braves and the Marlins. She's an umpire who's like
a floater where she could come back to the majors
again certain games where she steps in, and by all accounts,
the games were smooth, they were fine, and she got
good mark so to speak, for what she did behind

(27:13):
the plate. Good for her, and she had a lot
of support from a lot of people in the game.
Speaking of the games, I gotta tip my cap to
Scottie Scheffler. I was surfing around today because I was
running around doing things, so I was checking in on games,
on football games and whatnot. But I happened to tune

(27:33):
in right when he had his eighty two foot chip
on the seventeenth hole in Maryland, and you knew he
was definitely gonna win the BMW Championship. Then it's the
hardest hole in the final round at Caves Valley, and
how about that it lands about sixty feet short, rolled

(27:55):
boom right into the cup. Just absolutely crazy crazy. I
went crazy. So he wins his fifth PGA Tour title
this year. There is something that is reminiscent in some
ways of Tiger Woods and how dominant he was at
so many points in his early career. And you know, Scheffler,

(28:19):
people go crazy now to watch him. I mean, the
chippin was the loudest cheer of the day, and of
course it would be the loudest chairs incredible to hit
that kind of a shop, but he's known for that.
I mean, his skills are just intense, so so cool
to watch that. You might have watched some of the

(28:41):
NFL games preseason action. We're almost to the real stuff.
You know, it's the fourth September fourth when Philadelphia hosts
the Dallas Cowboys. But we got a Monday night game
between the Bengals and the Commanders. But over the weekend
there was a lot a lot of things that happened.
If you wanted to rewind to Friday, the Titans beat

(29:05):
the Falcons. I mean, it's not about the scores. It's
about what you're seeing from some of the players that
could make the team, or of some of the players
that are just getting the rust off. In that game,
Kendall Brooks scored on a fifty three yard interception return. Yeah,
and there were some good moments in that game for

(29:26):
some of the rookies too. The Seahawks beat the Chiefs
on Friday too, thirty three to sixteen. This is the
debut in a sense. I mean, he's been there. But
Sam Darnold was the opening drive guy because he's going
to be the quarterback right and led them to the
touchdown right off the bat. The Dolphins on Saturday knocked

(29:48):
off the Lions twenty four to seventeen. I know we
have fans in both of those camps listening to this show.
We also over the weekend had the Cardinals and the Broncos. Oh,
we got big Cardinal fans out there. And this is
I'll say it again, who cares about the preseason. It's

(30:08):
not about that. It's about finding some rhythm. It's about
players that will make it. It's unknowns that some sometimes do
something that warrants them being on the roster. The gems
that you find often. So the Broncos beat the Cardinals
twenty seven to seven, and you know what was the

(30:32):
big takeaway there? The big takeaway I think more was
on the other side of the ball than for the Cardinals,
because they're more the Cardinals are more set to me
than you know, than the than the Denver Broncos. It's
always about who's going to be the quarterback for the

(30:52):
uh for the Broncos, and so to me, that was
more what the case was them ironing out some of
their wrinkles on the eye offence. But interesting because we're
gonna get to the real stuff really soon. We're gonna
do our previews later this week in the man Cave,
but you're up next. We're going to the mail room
for the mail Bag and the pre market Bell meet

(31:15):
you on the flip.

Speaker 2 (31:27):
I'm going to the man Cave, going to the Marcave,
Going to the mar Cave, going to the cave.

Speaker 1 (31:40):
Ah, thank you, Anny. Yes, we are in the man Cave.
Everybody's welcome. Sit down. Just push the peanuts aside. Actually, yeah,
in the man Cave sometimes there is peanuts and things
that hit the floor. You know, when you're screaming. Popcorn
gets torn, you know, turned over, that kind of stuff.
All right, So in the man Cave, a little exciting

(32:03):
action for the Brewers. The Brewers with the franchise record
fourteen game wins streak, they had to come back and
do it on Saturday night, and so it looked like
on Sunday they were gonna do the same thing. I mean,
they'd said all kinds of history with this fourteenth straight win.
They were just incredible, seventy eight wins and forty four

(32:26):
in the season. But the Red said, not so fast
this time. We're not gonna let it happen. So Austin
Hayes single with the bases loaded in the tenth inning
gave the Reds at three to win over Milwaukee to
stop the streak at fourteen. Because Milwaukee had barely pulled
out the previous two games for their longest streak ever

(32:46):
within one season and the longest in the majors since
the Cardinals won seventeen straight from September eleventh to September
twenty eighth and two thousand and twenty one. So how
about that. To catch Pat McAfee every once in a
while and catch the maxter and he had on his
show Pitcher Trevor McGill talking about just how crazy and

(33:09):
loud and exciting it is with this crowd out in Milwaukee.

Speaker 6 (33:16):
Being in your routine every single day helps drown out
a lot of the noise, especially you know in the
Brewer Stadium the people have been showing up and been
loud as hell the last couple of weeks.

Speaker 1 (33:29):
Yeah, this one, of course, Cincinnati was very loud because
this one was on the road. But I don't blame
the fans. Good for them. So a couple of other
quick ones I will throw in here for you, because
you know we're down to it's dog day still, but
you're looking at wildcards for some of the teams that

(33:51):
many of you are listening to this show. So the
Yankees beat the Cardinals eight four, and the Cardinals still
aren't out of it for the wildcard, but they're in
that tough NL Central, of course, and we know the
Brewers are gonna are absolutely gonna clip that one off.
Same thing with the Diamondbacks. The Rockies got the better
of them six'. Five The cubbies pulled out their seventieth

(34:14):
At Wriggly they beat The pirates four to. Three two
of my really good friends were at that. Game shame
on them for sending me the pictures and making me
feel a little bit jealous THAT i wasn't with. Them
So Dansby swanson hit a tie breaking sackfly in the eighth,
inning and that's what led to The cubs beating The.
Pirates pretty interesting because next they got a big five

(34:38):
game series Against, milwaukee including a split double Head monday
At Wrigley, field and then The cubs are eight games
behind The brewers in THE Nl. Central mm, mmmmm all,
right let's move to something else called oh, yeah, football
ah the, best, RIGHT i cannot wait for the real.
Stuff on the, fourth The cowboys At philadelphia to take

(35:02):
on The Super bowl Winning Philadelphia. Eagles but how About
Jake moody the kick machine here For San. Francisco check
this one. Out good, snap good half kick is, up
it's long enough.

Speaker 6 (35:18):
And moody drilled.

Speaker 1 (35:20):
It. Moody, Yeah so The niners beat The raiders thanks
to that kick twenty two to. Nineteen what's interesting and
WHY i picked that one out is because they've had
problems with a kicking game like so many other. Teams you,
know a kick is just a kick until you really need.
HIM i think the kicker couldn't be more. Important so

(35:44):
in this case For, moody he made five of six
field goal goal attempts in that, win and he overcame
an early miss and a near disastrous attempt from twenty
six yards out with two massive boots in the final.
Minute so that Was Kyle shanahan. SAID i think it
was a hell of a day for him and he gives

(36:05):
us a lot of. Confidence that's good because there was
a bit of a battle. There but they Released Greg
joseph somebody else that they had on the roster because
of you, know mounting injuries. Elsewhere so he's probably that.
GUY i would, SAY, ufc did you happen to catch
THE ufc Middleweight what was?

Speaker 5 (36:28):
It?

Speaker 1 (36:28):
Number three NINETEEN ufc three Nineteen. Wow i'll tell you.
What this guy hams out To chemaiav is somebody who
has earned the right for sure over to plus and
he his mama was. EXCITED i, mean this is a

(36:49):
guy who when you talk about, grappling you forget, it
you're on the. Ground that is it with. Him and
here's what he said after claiming the you, know the
new middle.

Speaker 7 (37:00):
CHAMPIONSHIP i always knew i'd a little become a. CHAMPION
i had the feeling about. That so when you don't
feel you're gonna become a, champ so you know what'll
become a. Champ so he has to trust.

Speaker 1 (37:12):
Yourself you have to trust. YOURSELF i think we have
a little bit of play by play action. Too you
can tell how excited they were listening to.

Speaker 3 (37:19):
This oh, wow he just can't stop.

Speaker 9 (37:23):
It he just can't stop the take.

Speaker 4 (37:25):
Down.

Speaker 3 (37:27):
Total, domination pill to, pill and we will soon hear
and new UNDISPUTED ufc middleweight.

Speaker 1 (37:35):
Champion. Yeah, So, jimai if you look at him now
as the king of the, middleweights and who who's next for?
Him he hadn't fought a single middleweight in the top.
Fifteen there's lots of opportunities for him, there that's for,
sure and he could make a run at becoming one

(37:56):
of the best of the, best one of the greatest
middleweight champs IN ufc. History so we'll have to wait and.
See LIKE i, said you, know it's interesting too when
you look AT, ufc THE ufc now COULD i think
we'll get a whole even bigger fan base because forget
the pay. Perview remember there's the Big paramount deal for

(38:18):
seven billion dollars for seven. Years what, wait many many, many,
many many many. Many, yeah that's money for, sure and
that means if you want to WATCH, ufc that whole
pay per view thing would go by the by the you, know,
wayside because you wouldn't have to do. That you'd have
to pay the whatever it, is twelve bucks or whatever

(38:39):
for your. Subscription so there's madness in that For, paramount
and it seems, like, wow that's so much. Money and
Also Dana, white, right because how do you expand if
you're not getting a lot of pay per? View the
world is all about, streaming, streaming, STREAMING i mean everything is,
Streaming so including this radio show on my favorite radio.

(39:03):
Stations that's all these fabulous. Abilities you gotta have some
kind of stream. Right that's that's for. Sure and LIKE i,
Said i'm gonna go through all of THE, Nfl i'm
gonna go through THE, nfc THE afc and and all
of that because now we're you, know time's ticking. Away

(39:23):
we got a couple of, weeks what is it like
two and a half, weeks and we'll be in the
thick of the real. STUFF i can not wait for.
THAT i said this earlier in the, show BUT i
watched On Disney plus there you go for streaming AND
Espn The. Kingdom there was six episodes and it was so.

(39:43):
GOOD i like to watch any of. It i'm Watching
Hard knocks and that's The. Bills i'm watching all of that.
Stuff and in The cowboys On, netflix they've got a
series that's coming up and that starts On. Tuesdays just
gets you prime for. FOOTBALL i think over and, wow you,
know you look at at what's coming, up and and

(40:08):
with the with the tail end of the, preseason you,
know so so some people might go and catch On
thursday The steelers and The, panthers or maybe also On
thursday The patriots and The, giants and you got The
eagles and The, jets At, MetLife so you got a
couple that's On, friday so back to Back MetLife games

(40:28):
because The giants and The jets of course play from
the same, stadium and The falcons and The cowboys On.
Friday and it's interesting to uh to kind of catch
the tail end of THE i think these preseason games
because that's, it it wraps, up and then we're into
the three. Games then you're into week one and LIKE i,

(40:49):
said The cowboys and The eagles lead things off On
thursday night That thursday And September september, fourth and then
The chiefs and The chargers are On, friday and boy oh,
boy then we are in, it my, friends for everybody
listening in Whudat, Nation Saints territory and The cardinals because

(41:13):
we have so many people listening In. Arizona cardinals and
The saints are On sunday and early kick for that
one one O'clock. Eastern so love those early games to
just get settled in and just start to. Watch and,
yeah IT'S i think it's gonna be an interesting season
to see if we're gonna have a lot of the familiar,

(41:34):
faces you, know how good are The eagles gonna? Be
what's gonna happen with The. Chiefs BUT i think there
are a lot of contenders And i'm gonna give you
my reasons why when we dive into. It starting on
our next, Show i'm gonna preview my thoughts on the
UPCOMING nfl. Season we're gonna talk a little college football,
Too coming up in The Man. Cave coming up, Next
