Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Indiana Pacers are heading to the NBA Finals. Wow,
I'm excited. I'm like, I don't know, I'm emotionally charged
more than I've been in a while when it comes
to a team making the finals. Okay, season made to
find it a few days ago, and I was like,
that's dope, that's cool. But I didn't I didn't feel
some type of emotion. I'm what the hell is going
(00:20):
on with me? My team has nothing to do with this,
but shout out to the Pacers. Man, this is wow.
This is a run for the ages, regardless of what
happens against Okay, see, this is a run for the Ages.
Before we talk about the Pacers, I want to tip
my cap, not in the literal sense, but I want
to tip my cap to the New York Knicks. I
said this on the podcast this morning, but for the
people that may have missed it or have not caught
up just yet, I said, regardless of what happened to
(00:43):
gain number six, I want to say thank you to
the Knicks because, as a neutral fan, think about what
this postseason run has been for the Knicks. Round number one,
they play against the Pistons, this young team, and I
think it was game umble one, a gain uble two
I don't remember off the top of my head. Twenty
one oh run on the on the pistons, turned the fists,
turned the ball all over. They scoring, they doing this,
they doing that. You get some of the best down
(01:05):
to the wire games of all of the postseason. Was
Tim Hardaway junior fout in the corner, I don't know,
and then Jalen Brunson crossing up one of the best
of sar Thompson defensively hitting the game winner in Game six.
That's huge. They get to the second round and then
back to back games they are down by twenty points
to get to the Fender Champions and they win those games.
They have given US Bangers again, a neutral fans just
(01:26):
giving US Bangers and even in this series right even
though they were on the opposite end of this success
Tyre's Halliburton hitting that shot them coming back being down
what eight points through forty seconds ago. The Knicks have
just been involved in some of the best games of
this offseason. So I would to say I appreciate it
because them it. Without them, this postseason run wouldn't be
that amazing. And I know they can have a ton
(01:48):
of questions to answer right this offseason. We're gonna get
to those a little bit later in the video between
Karnthony Towns, between Tom deb and so on and so forth.
But I do want to say this is undoubtedly a
successful season for the Knicks. They had n't been in
the conference finals for over twenty years. They made necessary
trace to put together a finals team, and they were
just two games away from being in the finals and
(02:10):
the first year of their plan together. That's a success.
Think about where we were before the season started. We said,
or I'm saying, oh, I said, at least I don't
know what the hell your europeanions were. But in the
Eastern Confers, the team to be is the Celtics. Of course,
they made it to the finals last year and they
won the finals last year. After that, there's a whole
tier below them. Like, these teams are contenders, but maybe
not as good as the Celtics. You had, like the
(02:32):
seventy six boyl were wrong about that, and then you
had like the Knicks. And this was before the Caves
ended up being as good as they were. But like
the Knicks were looked to be a contender, and damn it,
they were basically that so I know it's gloom right
now because you lost, but overall successful season. They got
questions I forgot, I even got an ad. Let's get
to the abb before I really dive into everything. Shout
out to seege. This it is brought to by Segee.

you to sea Geek for sponsoring another video. While that
was planned, I figured out why I'm emotionally charged with
this team. I love an underdog story. The entirety of
(04:00):
the Pacers' existence has been an underdog store. This whole
run has been an underdog store. Think about it. Think
about just what the espns like when they do like, oh,
this is where the experts are predicting is gonna happen
in the series. I think in their first round matchup
against the Bucks, it was a fifty to fifty split
as far as who people thought was going to win.
And the second round, I don't think a single one.
(04:22):
I don't think a single one of the experts picked
the Indiana Pacers. Now in the conference finals, I don't know.
I didn't catch up on that. But Steel this is
a fourth seeded team that basically last year, they get
to the conference finals and we tip our cap. Of course,
were like, that's success regardless, but a lot of people
are like, I don't know if they're gonna be able
to replicate that. They got some injury luck here here here,
(04:44):
but this team ain't really like that, and now they're
in the goddamn finals. This team is an underdog story.
Their entire lineup are people drafted outside of the lottery,
except for I guess Obi Topping and Benedict Mathrin. Not
outside the lottery, but like outside of the top ten.
I'm sorry. Pascal siakam late first round pick. And while
the ad was sowing, I had to remember who the
(05:04):
hell Pascal Siaka was compared to coming out of college.
His NBA comps was Jordan Mickey and look Bay Mute.
He just won Conference Finals MVP. They said this man
would never get to the point where he would be
a real NBA scorer because he lacked the athleticism I'm
looking at it right now. He lacked the upper body strength,
he lacked the vertical and he just was the Conference
(05:26):
Finals MVP. Underdog story nim Hard Halliburton, who failed to
what twelve in the draft, eleven in the draft. This
whole team is just, man, this is insane. So yeah,
that's why I'm mostly charged because usual, if the team's
gonna go to the god damn Finals, they not really underdogs.
They may have gone to go run, but they not
really underdogs. This team has been an underdog team full
through and they're gonna be an underdog in next series. Truss. Truss,
(05:49):
I got a lot of lover respect for this team,
but boy, that OKC team is different and they gonna
be real different. If Nee Smith is not healthy, I
hope I pray that he's feeling good. He gets a
four day break, four day break before game number one,
Please be good because in this game, talk about the
things that have changed. We talked about last game, the
Knicks came out with a ton of aggression defensively and
it feel like it rattled the Pacers on both sides
(06:10):
of the ball, and this one, the Pacers were the
team to bring that level of intention on the defensive
side of the ball. They opted not to have it
be Niee Smith on Jaylen Brunton, but it said nim
har If remember last year's series against against each other.
The first two games of the series, it was nim
Hard guarded Jaylen Brounton. He got his ass fried. It
makes sense, it's Jaylen Bronson. And then they switched to
Nie Smith. He had better results, but in this one
they had to go the other way because I'm assuming's
(06:31):
just because Nie Smith is just not healthy enough to
guard Jaylen Bronson. He only played twenty minutes today, most
of it because he had a couple of foules. He
tried to step in on this the charge it was
a block, so some of the files were a big questioned,
but regardless, nim Hard after giving us last game in
the game before that him not looking so amazing, he
gave a master class on both sides of the floor.
He ended up with seven stocks in a close out game.
(06:53):
Let's not forget about that. We look back on game
number six, so we looked back on this pacer run.
Seven stocks in this one hits a big shot. When
you know the Pacers are going in there run and
they need an extra one. Boom, there's nim Hard with
another three. Halliburton came to play. You know, I love
the aggression that he had in the first quarter, even
if the shots and fall. I think he ended the
first quarter like six shot attempts, Like, damn it, that's
(07:15):
not a ton, right. Usually his stars across the basketball
I had eight at nine, but still him having six
them then match his whole last game. So I'm like,
eventually somebody shots are gonna fall because he is just
an efficient basketball player. And in that fourth quarter, you
know they have the lead and they're they're just attacking
k Anthony Towns. He gonna play that drop floater, floater floater,
and then at the end of the game, he hit
the you know, the logo three or whatever, which is
(07:38):
a balls he shot to take because if you miss
it then it looks a bit weird. But he hit it,
and yeah, his team is going to the NBA Finals,
which is which is dope. I remember a tweet from
a few weeks back that was like, somebody said, I
hate this Pacer team because they're just a team full
of front runners. I know Bucks fan Tatum. Every time
I tweet about the Pacers, I get Bucks fans. And
I'm not saying this all y'all, but Bucks fans really
hate this team, and that's part of the rivalry, which
(07:59):
is okay. Somebody quoted that saying this, stop letting them
get in front of you there. If you hate a
front runner, stop letting this team win. And they really
are winning right now, which is insane. So again, I
got a couple of days to kind of think about
what the series is gonna look like in the finals,
what I'm expecting matchup wise, So I'll drop a video
about that because we got no NBA basketball at least
(08:19):
going on, so I have some time to go through
the film. Pascal Amazing Halliburton a maze. I feel so
happy for Miles Turner that interviewed him as they were
giving away the award to Pascal Siaka, and he's like, yeah,
I spent the third of my life here. He's been
there for ten years. That's nuts. And they've gone through
so many different iterations of a team since he's been drafted,
and now he gets his his NBA Finals. He was
(08:42):
crying while doing an interview. I mean not in the
literal sense, but like he had tears. But man, what
a game, what a performance, And again they got an
uphill battle. But trust on the next side of things,
they got questions. I guess it's s'sful season, but they
got questions to be answered. They made some big trades,
bringing in Michel Bridges, they made some big trades breaking
(09:03):
in car Anthony Towns and again successful season, but like,
do you feel like you can run it back? It
feel like you'll be better next season? Should they be
aggressive in the Marcus Shamansarania saying that this is gonna
be one of the craziest deadlines. That we are not deadlines,
but offseasons we could have, which is amazing. You know,
you got names like Kevin Durant, maybe Yannis, maybe some
(09:24):
other big name players. Scarnthy Town's get moved again. The
contract is huge. I don't know. People are already tweeting
at me pictures of him and Devin Booker together part
of a Kevin Durant trade, even though Kevin Durant notoriously
neglected the Knicks when he was a free agent went
to Brooklyn. So I don't know what the hell happens.
But his team is not super far away but not
(09:47):
close enough. Maybe at the same time, because Cat even
though he ended with twenty two and fourteen up not
the greatest twenty two and fourteen I tell you that.
I mean, he was boxed and then they were attacking them,
and it's just like, ah, it's a rough time. LANZR.
Shaman hit three threes when the game is over, so
that was cool. It's that land. Look. Look, I hated
every single shot that the right took. I think it
(10:09):
had all backboard of both. And then Josh hart Man.
This was not a good ending to Josh hart series
or season. The last two games. I thought he gave
the wrong kind of energy and that's not like him.
I just I don't know, I don't know. We got
the NBA Finals coming up. We're down to our last
two teams. Nuts again. I remember just yesterday the season
(10:34):
was starting, and now we're down to our last two teams.
Shout out to the Pacers, Shout out to Oka See.
I hope that we get a good one. This is
one of them good old fashion small market versus small
market to rabid fan bases that been dying to see
their team back in this situation. It's been since twenty twelve.
(10:54):
Since twenty twelve ish for OKAC and then since two
thousand or ninety nine for the Pacers, these two teams
have been desperately weighted to get back on the NBA
Finals court and we got it. I'm excited for both them.
