Hello everybody, and welcome to thefirst ever episode of kid Talks. I'm
your host, Lily, and I'mso excited to share this week's episode.
(00:21):
Today we are going to be talkingabout the mystery of the Megledon. So
without further ado, let's dive in. First off, what is a megledon.
A megledon is a humongous shark thatwon extinct or did it. A
(00:43):
megledon can grow up to be sixtyfeet long. So picture three school buses
in front of each other. That'show long a megledon is. Female megledons
may have been twice as large asthe males, with an estimated weight of
fifty to seventy five. I havetons. I sure would not want to
come across that thing. And don'teven get me started on the teeth.
(01:10):
A Megledon's teeth are seven inches long. And if that isn't scary enough,
those big chompers are strong enough tobite through a car. The meglaledon must
have a pretty big appetite, youknow, because it's ginormous. Oh did
I forget to mention it used toeat giant whales. And I'm not talking
about orcas. I'm talking about literalgiant whales. It is believed that the
(01:34):
megloedon ate two five hundred pounds offood per day. The Megledon's hunting style
is very different from the average greatwhite sharks. While the great white shark
would dive straight for the soft tissuesof their prey, the megledon would bite
their prey spins off. The meglaedonactually had the most powerful bite out of
(01:55):
any creature that has ever lived. The Megledon's is actually none other than the
great white shirk. The megledon wasfive times stronger than a great white shark.
The meglaedon was actually located all overthe world in warm waters. Even
though no human has actually seen amegledon, there are a bunch of fossils
(02:17):
in the ocean since they lost alot of teeth in their lifetime. The
meglaedon went extinct around two point sixmillion years ago. I'm glad it's not
still alive now. The word megledonmeans giant tooth because it deprives from the
Greek. Mostly creatures are cold blooded, but the megledon was part warm blooded
(02:38):
like the great white shirk. Didyou know the megledon in the dinosaur did
not exist at the same time.I know, mind blowing. Thank you
so much for listening. To inthe next week for a new episode of
