Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to Kid's First Coming Attractions. Your VIP passed to
the silver screen packed with authentic, kid powered insights. Today,
get ready to dive into the magical blue world of
the Smurfs. Are fantastic reporters Gianna, Micah and Kennedy have
watched the new movie and are here to give you
(00:20):
this scoop. This film perfectly blends a bit of nostalgia
with fresh music by Rihanna, hilarious comedy by JP Carla Rake,
and a wonderful cast that leaves us wanting even more.
At its heart, the movie delivers a truly touching message
about the importance of family, not just the one you're
born into, but the incredible family you choose along the way.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
Hi I'm I'm Kennedy.
Speaker 3 (00:47):
Hi I'm Michah Reporting for Kids First.
Speaker 4 (00:50):
Smurfs is such a fun, colorful, adventure packed film filled
with music and heart.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
This film includes singing, comedy, action, and has an important
lesson that one should live by.
Speaker 3 (01:01):
Smurfs combines captivating music, relatable characters, and a bit of fantasy,
creating a nostalgic but fresh experience that fulfilled my expectations.
Speaker 4 (01:09):
I love how it introduces fresh characters while keeping the
classic Smurfs charm we grew up with.
Speaker 3 (01:15):
The new Smurf's movie follows No Name voiced by James
Cordon as he tries to find his place within Smurf Village.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
In the midst of finding who he truly is, Papa
Smurf voiced by John Goodman, is taken by Rossmo, who
was played by J. P. Carlac and hopes that he
will give him what he needs to take over the
rest of the world.
Speaker 4 (01:31):
With help from so many friends, they must discover what
defines their destiny to save the universe.
Speaker 3 (01:37):
Smurf's is a playful and entertaining film that carries a
valuable message that you, as young and old, can relate to.
As a fan of the original Smurf movies, I wasn't
so sure what to expect from the new animated version.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
Something cool and interesting. Accompanied with this production was a
sports SpongeBob SquarePants film called Order Up that played before
the feature. Is a fun little way to engage the
audience before the actual movie, and the way they did
it was highly creative. Another aspect of the Smurf film
that I enjoyed is the musical side of it.
Speaker 4 (02:07):
The voice talent is really awesome. John Goodman makes the
perfect Papa Smurf. He sounds super wise and kind. Nick
Auferman plays Papa's brother Ken, and he's hilarious, kind of
like Ron Swanson, but as a Smurf.
Speaker 3 (02:22):
Although the film does have two prequels, yours don't need
to watch them to understand the plot. Smurfs provides enough
background information and original story elements to stand on its own.
Speaker 2 (02:32):
The comedy is one of the best parts of the movie.
The jokes are not only hilarious, but they are understandable
by all ages. The use of animation in characters human
characters is also something I appreciate because it is very
creative in how they incorporate each skill.
Speaker 4 (02:46):
You can totally tell the entire cast put their whole
heart into every character, as they are all fun and
full of personality.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
The pacing is solid overall, though the ending does feel
slightly drawn up. The film's message is that you do
not have to conform to something you aren't just to
fit into a crowd.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
During the film, No Name often questions if he has
a purpose in this world, and Smurf that never fails
to remind him in his own perfect way.
Speaker 4 (03:12):
It also reminds us that being different is what makes
us special, and when you work together, you can take
on anything.
Speaker 3 (03:20):
I give Smurfs four out of five stars and recommend
it for ages five to twelve.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
I give Smurfs four out of five stars and recommended
for ages five to twelve.
Speaker 4 (03:27):
I give Smurfs four out of five stars and recommend
it for ages five to twelve plus adults. Smurf's releases
