and asking for your mercy. So Heavenly Father, as we

(04:24):
bid di throne for grace and mercy, we ask that
you will continue to keep us safe from all harm
and danger, that you will release all distractions, that you'll
release all distracted thoughts that may come to hinder what
you want us to learn. So as we grow their

(04:44):
Father and wisdom, and in knowledge and and understanding of
your word, continue to be the beacon light of hope,
continue to be the beacon light of salvation, deliverance and
healing as we go forth to be better kingdom citizens
in this world. Father, whatever it is that we learn,
we ask that you will help us to apply to

(05:05):
our everyday ways of living. These things we pray in
Jesus name, Amen, Amen and Amen. Alright, I want so
let us go ahead and get started with our Sunday
school listen for today. Today is February twenty third, twenty

(05:33):
twenty five. This is the Bible study for a week
of February twenty third, twenty twenty five, lesson number eight,
and the subject for today's lesson is don't be a goat?

Speaker 3 (05:52):
Now would it say don't be a goat? So yeah,
don't be a goat. That's what it says, don't be
a goat.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
And that is the subject for today's lesson for February
twenty third, twenty twenty five, lesson number eight. The background
passage is Matthew twenty five and the printed passage is
Matthew twenty five thirty first through the forty sixth verse. Again,

(06:30):
the past background passage is Matthew twenty five and the
printed passage is Matthew twenty five thirty one through forty
six the key verse, the King will say to those
at his right hand, come you that are blessed by
my father inherit. The Kingdom prepared for you from the

(06:54):
foundation of the world four hours hungry, and you gave
me food. The King will say to those at his
right hand, come you that are blessed by my father inherit.
The Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the

(07:16):
world for hours hungry, and you gave me food, Matthew,
the twenty fifth chapter, the thirty fourth and the thirty
fifth verse. This is the new revised standard version. Again
the key verses, the King will say to those at
his right hand, come you that are blessed by my father.

(07:43):
The King will say, to those at his right hand,
come you that are blessed by my father. Inherit the
Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world
for hours hungry, and you gave me food. So that
is our key verse for today. And I thank you

(08:08):
for following us this far. All right, so let us
go to our introduction. Twenty twenty, Barner Group reported that
nearly eight percent eighty percent of African American church goers

(08:30):
believe the church is responsible for meeting social and spiritual needs.
The Black Church and beacon of hope in the struggle
for justice and equality and in American history. It has
a rich legacy from the abol Aboli that is one

(08:51):
hard work, a Bolinist abostionalist movement, to the civil rights
movement and the movement for Black Lives Matter. The Black
Church has consistently addressed injustice. Its contributions including providing space
for meetings, financial resources, leadership, and spiritual revival are a

(09:12):
testament to its unwavering commitment. Alongside supporting justice seeking movements,
Black churches consistently perform acts of charity with their local
communities and their and internationally. These efforts, achieved through the
denominational programs, conventions, foreign mission boards, and ministry initiatives, are

(09:37):
a source of pride and inspiration. The Black Church has
historically addressed the systems that create injustice and seeks to
aid affect people affected by those systems. The significance of
the Black Church is demonstrated in the face of many
of the many attacks against its presence and its people.

(10:00):
Commitment to justice and love is rooted in the Gospel
of Jesus Christ, specifically Jesus's instruction in Matthew chapter twenty five,
when we see those in need and severely impacted by
unjust systems, we should respond with help. These responses reflect

(10:22):
This response reflects our love and commitment to Jesus. And
then it has to think about it. How have you
personally helped those in need? This, how you sacrifice time
and resources to answer Jesus's call, or how in the
future you might do also? All right, so you know,

(10:48):
I try to make sure that we have at least
our discussion question. So I'm gonna go ahead and copy
that for you, put it in here in the chat
on the chat line so you'll be able to see
it for yourself. And because these days are very, very,

(11:13):
very important, think about it. How have you personally helped
those in need? List how you sacrifice time and resources
to answer Jesus's call, or how in the future you
might do or in the future how you might do.
So what I will say is that I do think

(11:36):
it's very important that we are focusing on the needs
of people. And I will say that during this time,
especially right now, as we have taken in the United
States of America new administration, and with new administration comes

(12:00):
new people that are in position, and the president currently
has and this had. If you don't want to hear it,
just go ahead and get off. If you don't, if
you do want to hear it, just stay on. Just
walk with me here. I'm just telling the facts. This
has nothing to do with no political views. It's just facts.

(12:22):
So the President Donald Trump has went on a firing
spree so called saying that it's so called saying that
it is saving money and I was talking with my
mom on a couple of days ago. We had a

(12:46):
very engaging conversation about such. And in this conversation, we
begin talking about the federal employees in the United States,
how there's a number of them that have been let go.

(13:08):
And I told Mama, said, man, I was going through
my timeline, you know, you know how you wake up
in the morning, you go through the timeline, and I
saw a community pastor put on Facebook. I just wanted
to lift up the thousands of employees that were laid

(13:29):
off in the federal government. Okay. So I was like, oh, man,
so you mean to tell me that this is the
only person that I've seen that put on Facebook to
ask for prayer for all these thousands of people nationwide
that have lost their position. And I was like, man, now,

(13:54):
and it doesn't have anything to do with anyone personally.
All I'm saying is I noticed that one community pastor,
one community pastor that I seen on my timeline at
that time, which was I think was last week. Say

(14:15):
let's pray that that that did something to my soul
for a second, because right here at the Kingly Discussions podcast,
here we are we're practicing we're exercising our rights, we're
practicing what it is to be a kingdom citizen. We're

(14:35):
calling those things. It's be not as though they were.
We're having faith statements. We're walking in the light and
dag man, we we did we forget to pray for people.
That it hit me in my soul for a second.
So I had to I had to recollect because this

(14:57):
is in the mind of Jared right. So I had
to recollect, and I had to be like, Okay, regardless
if it's public or whether it's private, as long as
the prayer is being given for those who are in need,
that's the sacrifice that we give. So as long as

(15:18):
it is done in the name of Jesus. So I
said that because yes, do I want you to write
this list? Do I want you to write a list
about you know, how you personally help those in need? Yes,
I want you to write the list. Get a notebook,

(15:38):
sheet of paper, write it all down, check your list,
Look at you make your list, check it twice, and
you know, see if you've been all your nice. I
don't know, I don't know, I don't know. Yeah, I
want you to do it, but I also want you
to not browbeat yourself, because that's what I started doing.

(16:00):
I was like, because when I had seen the community
pastor that put it on Facebook, I was like, dang,
what am I doing? Like you know what I'm saying?
You know, all of these people that are on Facebook,
millions and people on Facebook and other I think twelve
hundred some friends that I have on Facebook. That was
the only thing that I seen all my time. Like
at that time, that was like, Okay, you know, we

(16:23):
need to pray. An't know, I don't know, excuse me.
So that's why I was like, yeah, we definitely need
to be sure that we're always aware that if we
don't do anything for people, make sure you pray. Yeah,

(16:46):
make make sure that you pray. All right, let's move
a little bit further and if anybody you know has
any questions or comments, anybody want to put in, you know,
one thing on the comments, please please feel free to
do so. Like I said, this is a King of
Discussions podcast. You have free range to do whatever it

(17:09):
is that you need. Uh So let's uh. Yeah, I
didn't want to. I didn't want to put the name
in the chat, but that's that's who it was. Thank you.
Mama to lift up Pastor Ali Mossby and her leadership
for doing that. Yeah. That that that that was a
grand thing that I didn't even notice. I didn't even realize.

(17:32):
So yeah, So moving on to our moving on further
with our Sunday school listen for this morning, The Son
of the Son of Man's Glorious Return Matthew, the twenty

(17:54):
fifth chapter, the thirty first through the thirty third verse.
That's the Son of Man's Glorious Return Matthew, the twenty
fifth chapter, the thirty first through the thirty third verse,
and it reads, when the Son of Man comes in
his glory and all the angels with him, then he

(18:15):
will sit on the throne of his glory. All the
nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate
people one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep
from the goats. And he will put the sheep at
his right hand and the goats at the left. In

(18:38):
other words, in other words, just like our Sunday school
lesson says on today, don't be a goat. Don't don't
be a goat. You don't yn't want to be old goat. Listen,

(19:02):
I forgot the name of that cartoon, but it was
it was something, and the cartoon was basically about two
old people. They was going at it. He said, don't
mess with me, you old goat. I don't know why
that was so funny me, but I had to mention

(19:22):
it because you really don't want to be a goat.
You don't want to be old goat. You would much
rather be a sheep. And God's eyes would rather be
a goat. Don't be old goat because God is gonna
separate the sheep from the goat. He's gonna put the
sheep at his right hand and the goats at the left.
All right, So let's go on for go on further

(19:44):
into our lesson. I will. That was our introduction for
the day. Now let me let me add to the
introduction too. So in the introduction, I think the reason
why I think about it was that way was because

(20:06):
I think about it was focusing on what we should
be what we need to be doing as kingdom citizens.
Right what we need to be doing is God's followers,
because his sheep know his voice, and sheep are supposed
to be doing what the shepherds say. So if you're

(20:28):
doing what God says, you're operating as a sheep. If
you're not doing what God said, then you're operating as
a goal. And that's where this Bible verse right here
Matthew twenty five, thirty one through thirty three comes in,
all right, So let's let's go on with our know

(20:48):
it all right. A parable is a concise, illustrative story
that conveys a moral or spiritual lesson. Jesus often used
parables to explain complex ideas. Parables use familiar situations and

(21:10):
characters so audiences can draw parallels to their own lives
and experiences. The parables were memorable because they often contained
a plot, twist, or ending the audience would not expect.

(21:31):
Matthew twenty five, verses thirty one through forty six records
a parable of the sheep and the goats. Jesus shares
this parable while discussing the Kingdom of Heaven. Jesus is
nearing the end of his earthly ministry and has been
and has been providing his disciples with teachings about the

(21:53):
nature of the kingdom, the importance of villigence, and the
need for readiness for his return. The passage vividly portrays
the Son of Man coming in glory surrounded by angels.
This imagery is rich insignificance, symbolizing divine authority and estological expectation.

(22:18):
Son of Man as a title Jesus frequently uses for himself,
drawing on Old Testament injury imagery, particularly from Daniel seventh
thirteen through fourteen, where it references a miss massi sonic

(22:39):
figure endowed with authority. While Jesus is the Messiah, his
contemporaries believe the promised Messiah will exercise authority a lot Differently,
Jesus was not aggressive or politically domineering. Instead, he taught
that concepts such love, humility, and justice would inaugurate his

(23:04):
father's kingdom. Serving others is central to Jesus' leadership model,
emphasizing that greatness in God's kingdom comes through acts of service.
Upon Jesus's arrival, all nations are gathered before him, representing
a universal scope of judgment. This inclusive gathering underscores the

(23:27):
idea of discernment and evaluation, reminding us we are all
a part of his divine judgment. In ancient agrarian societies,
sheeps and goats are often kept together, but have different
but had different temperaments. And needs. The separation in the

(23:52):
text is a metaphor for divine judgment, where individuals would
be assessed based on their needs, sizing our shared responsibility
in this evaluation. All right, So with this part of

(24:15):
our know it, I want to highlight something that's very,
very important. I said something earlier that referred to sheeps
and the goats. So in the power session that I
did on yet last night, I highlighted why we should

(24:45):
be a part of God's kingdom, operate in God's authority,
and why you should not. And we talked about the vices,
we talked about the comparisons and the contrasting of it.
But the one reason why so adamant about the kingdom

(25:08):
and spreading it that the kingdom message is just as
this Sunday School lesson is trying to get us to
see as well, the need for the kingdom is based
upon the necessity, okay, the necessity that we have as

(25:30):
God's people operating on our own. Accord says that you
don't warrant or need God's grace operating from within yourself
because your when you operate on yourself, you're operating on

(25:53):
your own rule. You're operating on your own circumstance. You walk,
you're walking at the beat of your own and you're
just doing everything that you want to do, so that's
its own merit. Whereas in God's Kingdom, God's kingdom comes
with grace. God's Kingdom comes with mercy. God's Kingdom comes

(26:16):
with forgiveness. God's grace, God, I mean, God's kingdom comes
with great reward because it's based upon his standard right.
So the needs of God's people is based upon God's Kingdom.

(26:38):
This is why it is important for us to make
sure that in everything we do, no matter how difficult
the problem is, no matter how heart the situation may be,
no matter how deep and mess that we are, are
you operating in God's kingdom? Are you operating into the authority? Well,

(27:02):
how do I know that? How do I know if
I'm operating in God's Kingdom? Well, you know, be it
by the actions that you do, whether you are lacing
up your own bootstraps and you're calling your own shots,
not seeking God. That's whenever you're operating in self, but

(27:25):
whenever you're in your hardest of heart and your most
difficult of difficult, that you're saying God what needs to
happen right now. This is how you know where you
are in your spiritual walk and in your spiritual journey.

(27:46):
The needs change. Goats and sheep may be in the
same pasture, but they are the needs of the gold
and sheep are totally different. God's people are God's people,

(28:08):
and how he treats them, it's based upon him. That's
why he wants us to treat others the way that
we would want to be treated. That's a nice parallel.
But I had that in my notes and I wanted
to discuss that for a second because it's the This

(28:29):
is the importance of God's kingdom. God's kingdom is very important.
The Kingdom of Heaven is a hidden treasure in this world.
And we just need to check ourselves, that's all. We
just need to check ourselves, just make sure that we're
operating in the authority that He has already given. All right,

(28:50):
So that was number one. Number one, The Son of
Man's Glorious Return Matthew, the twenty fifth chapter, the thirty
first through the thirty third verse. Now we're getting ready
to get ready to do number two. The Righteous All
Rewarded Matthew, the twenty fifth chapter, the thirty fourth through

(29:11):
the fortieth verse, and it reads, then the King will
say to those at his right hand, come you, who
are blessed by my father inherit the Kingdom prepared for

(29:33):
you from the foundation of the world. For hours hungry,
and you gave me food. I was thirsty and you
gave me something to drink. I was a stranger and
you welcomed me. I was naked and you gave me clothing.
I was sick and you took care of me. I
was in prison and you visited me. Then the righteous

(29:54):
will answer him, Lord, When was it that we saw
you hungry and gave you food, or thirsty and gave
you something to drink? And when was it that we
saw you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and
gave you clothing? And when was it the last? When

(30:16):
was it that we saw you sick or in prison
and visited you? And the King will answer them. Truly,
I tell you, just as you did it to one
of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine,
you did it to me, all right. Supplying the man, Yes,

(30:40):
that's true. Supplying the man have been around since the
beginning of time. Yes, it has Jesus's assessment begins with
those on his right, the sheep. He invites them to
inherit the kingdom prepared for them since the foundation of
the world, an invitation not merely a welcoming gesture, but

(31:05):
an affirmation of their lives. The kingdom of Heaven is
portrayed as a place of rewar, signifying the culmination of
faithfulness and good works. Jesus outlines the basis for acceptance
as acts of kindness towards those that are in need.
He lists a set of instructions his sheep. Those who

(31:28):
profess Jesus are to follow. The issues Jesus expects them
to address are issues that Christians can still positively impact today.
Consider Jesus' list and light of national present day issues.
Feeding the hungry, food desserts, giving drink to the thirsty,

(31:54):
city infrastructure such as in Flint, Michigan, welcome I mean
the stranger, immigration, clothing, the naked, rising costs of goods
and services, caring for the sick, costs of medical care,
and visiting the imprisoned, mass incarceration. These actions highlight the

(32:18):
ethical obligations of believers and illustrate a broader theological principle,
disciples of Jesus serve others, particularly the marginalized, to serve
Christ himself. In verse thirty seven, the righteous express confusion,
asking when they perform these acts for Jesus. Jesus' response

(32:41):
is profound. Whatever you did for the least of my
brothers and sisters, you did for me. This connection emphasizes
that the treatment of others is intricately linked to the
one's relationship with God. As followers of Christ, our behavior

(33:02):
should match our beliefs. The list of activities Jesus provides
has contemporary political implications. The way in which we are
to address some of these injustices individually and collectively is
debated in our country on many angles. However, regardless of

(33:31):
political or social challenges that surround these issues, Christ calls
his followers to serve. Many churches have ministries that address some,
if not all, of these issues. These ministries should be
supported with generosity and participation because they are helping to
advance what Christ calls his sheep to do. So one thing.

(33:58):
God used this principle in his king kingdom, building from
the begin Yep, adam and yep, that's right. Mm hmmm. Uh.
One thing I wanted to highlight about this section that
the righteous are rewarded is that it takes work to
be in the kingdom and Jesus. In Jesus's Ministry, he

(34:21):
specifically highlights certain things that we are It's certain the
certain things that we are supposed to be doing, and
he gives a reason behind it. So it's like almost
like a cause and effect. I'm not going to tell
you something that I'm not going to explain, right, So

(34:42):
I'm not I'm not gonna say, uh, pick up your
cross and follow me without saying the reason. So and
in this paragraph, we we've seen here Jesus's list, right,
and it said consider Jesus' list in light of national

(35:04):
and present day issues. So notice how the things that
he was telling us to do, he gives a reason,
He gives a reason behind it. So feeding the sick,
I mean feeding the hungry. That's when food is in dessertation,
when people are hungry, giving drink to the thirsty. That

(35:26):
city infrastructure such as Flint, Michigan. So that's the basic
necessities of food, water, shelter, welcoming the stranger. That's immigration
policies are clothing the naked, the rising costs of goods

(35:47):
and services, the inflation that has been going on these
last couple of years. Caring for the sick, the caring
for the sick that has a lot to do with
the cost of care. Here in America, we have a
consistent issue with medical care. Here. You can work full

(36:09):
time and still not have no health insurance. Why because
I can tell you I spent the whole year without
health insurance all because of some dates. And what was
I to do. It's not my law, it's not my policy,
it's not my do they it is their do day.
So you know, this stuff kind of hits home a

(36:30):
little bit, these things that Jesus says as kingdom citizens,
as Christians, as believers of him, sheep of him. He
gives reasons as to the things that he tells us
to do, and visiting them in prison and the mass
incarceration that's upon the world today. This is the reason

(36:54):
why Jesus tells us these things, because these are the
issues that we are facing even today. It's I know,
people say that the word of God, the word of
God is thomass I know they say that. I know

(37:19):
they try to use the they try to say the
Bible is endless, thomass endless. Yeah, that's good too. But
I like to look at the Bible as living. What
are you're saying, Jared? It is living. The Word of

(37:39):
God is living. As we are reading the Old Testament,
as we are reading the New Testament, as we are
reading the Old Testament stories and looking into the story
of Jesus, how he comes onto the scene and how
he changes everything up. The Word of God is living.

(38:00):
It is a living, active, divine revelation that God has
imported from since day one for us right now and
into the very future that we'll live in. It's a
living word. It's a living word. And and that's what

(38:26):
really stood out to me during this section of the
Righteous are rewarded because what we believe, what we stand on,
what Jesus tells us to do is presently, is, past, present,

(38:46):
and futurely incline because what his commandments give us is
a living word. It's a living implication. So it's not
just timeless and not it's not just endless, but it's living.

(39:09):
It can work for you right now, the Word of God.
You can take anything from it and and and and
use it and apply it to life and present day issues.
And you can handle anything that comes into your uh

(39:29):
and into your into your creface. It's it's it's a
living word. I put living word. That's what I caught
for of it. It's like living word. It's it's not
nothing that's dead. It's not a novel. Mm hmmm, it's

(39:49):
not nonfiction. It's not fiction. It's it's living. It's it's
it's living and active. Right, So it's not going to
the gym and trying to get stronger. No, it's living.
It's a living word. It's a living word, and and

(40:11):
it's different than anything. Even our faith. Our faith is
strengthened by reading God's word. Yeah, our faith is is strengthened.
Our faith grows stronger whenever we read more of this

(40:31):
word because it's living. That's why he tells us to
continue to keep going back, to continue to keep reading,
continue to keep going back to the Bible and reading
the stories because it's a living word. It's a living word.

(40:52):
It's a it's a it's a living word. You can
use it for anything. And Jesus said, Jesus gives us
this list because he wants us to see what this
living word. Uh. Yeah, yeah, we all need to well,

(41:16):
yah ah, I surely need to do this more. Yeah,
so we all need to do it. It doesn't it
doesn't matter how far that we get in life. It
doesn't matter. If it's just baby steps, it doesn't matter,
if it's just crawling, it doesn't matter. So as long

(41:40):
as you are actively reading God's word, the living Word
strengthens our inner man, our inner soul, our inner spirit,
and we continue to keep growing in more wisdom and
in more live, more knowledge, and in more understanding of
His word. We all need to do it. It doesn't

(42:02):
matter if we're the pope, and it don't matter if
we're the pastor. It doesn't matter. If you're the head
deacon for thirty years, that crap don't matter. It don't matter.
If you the head deacon over the association of whatever,

(42:27):
it don't matter. It doesn't matter, don't mean it matter.
If you've been chairman of the episcopacy for thirty years,
you got to read his words actively. So as long

(42:49):
as you're reading it, you're increasing your faith. You're building
your faith, you're building your spirit, you're increasing your spirit.
And I and that's why I said we all need
to do it. We we all need to be focused.
We all need to be implying, applying ourselves and reading

(43:15):
this living word because it's active and it helps us
with life. This is life. I want to put this
in the comments. This is gonna make for a good
power session. This is gonna make for a good power session.

(43:35):
It really is. I want to talk about that because
these things right here. I'm I'm gonna put it right
here in the comments, just so y'all can have it
right there for yourselves. That those are these are actual
things that as people that as kingdom citizens, and when

(43:56):
we're operating in our and our authority that God has given,
when we're operating with that, these are the things that
we do. It is on a national scale, now on

(44:18):
an international scale, on a national scale, on a state scale,
on a local scale, for your for your life personally,
these things are the things that we are able to
do by following the commandments of Chrise. Just that simple,

(44:42):
just that simple. It's a living it's a living word.
It's not just a novel. It's it's it's it's a
living word. It's good to be a theological uh uh
pro uh. It's good to be a theological preacher. It's
good to understand historical fact, but it's another thing to
be able to walk it, walk this journey, live this journey,

(45:07):
and grow more in wisdom and knowledge and understanding of
his word. It's a whole total different diaspa, all right.
So that was number two, The Righteous are Rewarded Matthew
twenty five thirty four through forty. And now we'll finish
up the last one, which is number three, the Fate

(45:29):
of the Unrighteous, The Fate of the Unrighteous Matthew twenty
five forty one through forty six. So the first one
that we did is the first one that we did
was what what was the first one? The first one

(45:53):
we did was the Son of Man's Lord's Return Matthew
twenty five thirty one one through thirty three. And the
second one that we did is the Righteous are Rewarded
Matthew twenty five thirty four through forty. And the last
one that we're getting ready to do is the Fate

(46:15):
of the Unrighteous Matthew twenty five forty one through forty six.
Then will he then he will say to those at
his left hand, you who are a curse, to part
for me into the internal fire prepared for the devil

(46:37):
and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave
me no food. I was thirsty and you gave me
nothing to drink. I was a stranger and you did
not welcome me. Naked and you did not give me clothing.
Sick and in prison and you did not visit me.

(46:57):
Then they will also answer, Lord, when was it that
we saw you hungry or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked,
or sick or in prison, and did not take care
of you. Then he will answer them. Truly, I tell you,

(47:17):
just as you did not do it to the least
of these, you did not do it to me. And
these would go away into eternal punishment, But the righteous
in eternal life and start contrast. Jesus then addresses those

(47:40):
who are on his left. So in our last section
he was addressing the sheep. The righteous are rewarded. He
was addressing those who are at his right. So and
as Jesus now is expressing those who are on his left,

(48:01):
the goats, he instructs them to depart into eternal punishment.
This pronouncement is severe, emphasizing the seriousness of their failure
to act. The criteria for their condemnation mirrors that of
the righteous, focus focusing on their inability to do what

(48:23):
Jesus listed as necessary. The goats, like the sheep, question
when they failed to serve Jesus. His response to them
is extremely clear, since they neglected to serve the least
of these, they neglected accepting Jesus, a response yet again

(48:47):
reinforcing the idea that one's faith is demonstrated through action,
particularly in how one responds to the needs of others.
We will be held accountable for our actions and in actions.
This theme resonates throughout the New Testament, calling believers to

(49:08):
live lives of integrity and compassion. Following Jesus is not
best judged by how much we know, but how much
we can extend compassion to those who need it the most.
John challenges us that we cannot claim to love God

(49:29):
who we have never seen, and the hater and hate
our neighbors, who we regularly see. This is John one,
John four, and twenty. The emphasis on compassion toward the
least of these implies this is not optional for believers,

(49:51):
but fundamental. The specific examples Jesus provides serve to illustrate
the spectrum of needs that exist in society. Believers are
challenged to engage actively in social injustice, social justice and

(50:11):
humanitarian efforts, helping those who are unjust, and working at
fixing systems that leave large fragments of society systematically broken.
By identifying himself with the least of these, Jesus calls

(50:32):
for a radical rethinking of how believers view and treat
those in need. This connection invites us to see Christ
in the face of the marginalized, encouraging a more profound
sense of empathy, responsibility, and surface. Churches and Christian organizations

(50:55):
can take this passage as a mandate to educate ourselves
and communities about the systematic issues that lead to poverty, hunger,
and injustice. Understanding the root causes of these issues can
empower more effective action. We must also bear in mind

(51:16):
the action of serving the least of these is not
rooted in pity. Jesus calls them his siblings. Regardless of
our station in life, each of us is as valuable
and loved by God. The notion of brothers and sisters
indicates the communal aspect of faith. It highlights the importance

(51:40):
of solidarity with the community of believer us and a
collective responsibility towards those who are in need. One group
is not more significant than the other. We are siblings.
The communal aspect reinforces the idea the individual actions contribute
to the help of the community. Jesus challenges us to

(52:04):
reflect on our actions and priorities, urging embodiment of Kingdom
principles through tangible acts of kindness and justice. His responses
to the Sheep and Goats act as a call for
a transformative approach to how those who profess Him engaged
with the world. It redefines the relationship between faith and works,

(52:30):
emphasizing that true religion is expressed through love and action
through others, particularly the least among us. Ultimately, we learn
there is consequence for those of us who do not
act accordingly, so as Jesus, and this is we've reached

(52:50):
the end towards our Sunday school live and online. But
right I can only give you what is inside of me, Yes,
you can only You can only get what I have.
If I don't have it on the inside of me,
it's not going to be able to You're not going
to be able to extract them. You can't get grape

(53:11):
juice from an orange, and you can't get apple juice
from my orange, but you can't get orange juice from
my orange. So if I ain't got it, you can't
get it from me. So, as Jesus is addressing the goats,
the one thing I do want to highlight here, you know,
even though he condemns them to eternal judgment, one thing

(53:35):
that we can take from it as kingdom citizens, as
the sheep, is that we need to consistently being consistently
educate ourselves in wisdom, knowledge and understanding of God's word
so that we don't end up as the goats. The
goats operate differently than how sheep operate differently. Thus is

(53:58):
the reason. Just like we said earlier, the needs of
them change. Trust me, you would much rather be a sheet,
a sheet than a goat. You would want God to
You would want to be on the right hand of God,
not on the right hand side of God. Not on
the left hand side of God. Notice something else too,

(54:21):
So that was the first thing. Second thing, Notice something too,
Notice that you are called you are denoted as a
sheet or you are denoted as a goat based upon action.
So whether you are doing this or whether you are
doing that, that denotes what you are. So again, if

(54:44):
you see things in your life that are not adding up,
watch the action, go back and change or root the change.
Go back to the root of go back to the
root of the problem, the base of the issue. What
is it and that's what you know is being implied
here and the lesson. Go back to what is important.

(55:06):
Change that, change the action, because whether you are a
sheep of gold is based upon what you're actually doing. Okay,
So that's the second thing. The last thing. Don't be
afraid to stand up for us right. A lot of
us are afraid to stand up for us. Right. A

(55:28):
lot of us are afraid to stand up for ourselves
much less stand up for us. Right. So do those
two things. Don't be afraid if you see something that's
not right, you know, of course, pray about it, but
act on it, you know, do what does stay with
the Lord no matter what. All right, this is the
end of our Sunday School live on online. So let's

(55:51):
go ahead and do remember it, share it, live it,
and hear it. We're gonna go ahead and do that
at this moment. Yeah, We're gonna go ahead and do that,
all right. So remember, if Jesus should cause believers to

(56:13):
care for those whose society often rejects to do so. However,
we must be intentional in taking note of those who
might be of the least of these, and our community
church as well as community, often the rejected are also
the invisible of society. We are able to care for

(56:34):
them for us because when we do, we are in
fact caring for Jesus. A pastor once said, we should
not do things just to be seen doing them, but
there are some things we should be seen doing. Providing
acts of love and justice to the least of these
is something the world should see believers do. Jesus describes

(56:56):
commitment to these actions as the characteristics of actions, and
the sheep who know and follow his voice share it.
Listen to hazard Kyle Walker's I Need You to Survive.
While listening, reflect on a time when a fellow Christian
helped you with a personal need. Live it. Many churches

(57:16):
have outreach ministries. As our passage outlines, these ministries offer
specific times and opportunities for personal engagement and live in
the Gospel. This week, find and connect with one of
these ministries. Consider how you might participate in one of
their initiatives. Hear it research, faith baithed nonprofits in your

(57:38):
city committed to carrying out Jesus's instructions and our passage.
Once you find a reputable organization, please share it in
its mission on your social media pages. Your advocacy may
help those find may help them find donors and volunteers,
get social start and online conversation about being sheep. Share

(58:02):
your views at our hboy d c O and use
hashtag at our ah boy d c. Let us pray
for our closing prayer. Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you
and we praise you because you are God, and besides
you there is another. We thank you for this opportunity
that you have allowed for us to come and to

(58:25):
grow more in wisdom, to grow more in knowledge, and
to grow more and understanding. Thank you God for allowing
us to operate in the way that we need to
operate so that you can bless us in the way
that we need to be blessed. And Heavenly Father, we
thank you for releasing all the distracted thoughts and all

(58:46):
distractions that may have come to hinder us from this understanding.
Thank you, Dear God, for the opportunity to be a sheep.
As you continue to care for the pastor whether we
may be sheep or go, and also their father, continue
to bless us for the week that is coming up.
Keep us safe from all hurt, harmon data. These things

(59:06):
I pray in Jesus' name. Amen, Amen, and Amen. I
don't have any announcements for this afternoon. I do want
to thank each and every one of you, however, for
