I feel a little attacked, I'll be honest.

Yeah, I understand. It's super weird that we would celebrate
hair day as though it's some sort of trophy.

So why do you think you have to do it?
Is it because your hair is longer? Is it because
you're a woman? What is it? Because I'll know it.
I didn't when I had hair, and I had pretty
nice hair, curly, wavy hair, I just didn't care. That's
a man thing, a little bit of the style.

Like I I don't know the last time I combed
my hair, because a it's thinning. In short it's just
the messy like like I just take a little bit
of that bedheady kind of putty stuff and it's kind
of and then then good to go.

About how much I save on hair products? Yeah, I
don't buy any. Do you have to do anything, though,
Do you have to do anything special? Do you have
to like do your scalp? I don't champoo, I uh
because at this point there is so little. I mean,
I got just a small little ring, the horseshoe ring
here that I keep so short. There's really nothing going on.
So I just body wash, right, yeah, okay, and right

lately I've been on the Buffalo Trace body wash because
it smells all like Oaki, yeah, like the Squatch that. Yeah, yeah,
Squatch is so good for that. I smell like a man.

Little pine tar and and like grease monkey smell. I
imagine everything.

It's what's Bruce Springsteen smells like before he plays a
concert man like leather and And I don't know why
Bruce was.

The guy that came in mind. Well, because I was
watching the I was watching the filming of the movie
that's coming out with the guy from The Bear playing him,
and uh boy, first of all, Jeremy is his name,
Jeremy Allen White. I believe. So that guy. You gotta
listen to him, do Bruce Springsteen, this is insane. So
this is him singing, Bruce Springsteen, born to run for

the concert pause stand by as I find this okay,
so he's he's actually doing it. So this is yeah,
this is him singing in a concert setting. So it's
not great audio because they're trying to make it right
like an actual live concert. Wow.

Wow, Wow, he got the breathiness to Bruce took in
the suns.

Wear a ball like really good. That's really well performed.

Yeah yeah, And if you watch it, they've got the sweat.

Perfect, his hair, everything is perfect. His little scrunch of
his neck when he can't quite get those notes out
that Bruce does is like amazing.

My dad described seeing him in concert as uncomfortable looking.

It was two hours of a man who looked really uncomfortable.

He looks like he wants to let himself sing, but
he can't allow his body to be free. So it's
just tight yep, and he just can't let go. But
in that not being able to let.

Go, you're getting these incredible sounds coming off this little
Mary Joe Cocker like to where Cocker is just so
but yeah, that was I remember my dad just being
like it was a great concert. He's like a great concert.
He goes, Buddy, it's two hours of a guy who
looked really uncomfortable.

Very yeah, just sweaty, could torn. It's like a ZiT.
You want to pop, like totally just want to go
up there and just pick at it. Just messed up.
Yeah you are, I think you would like to squatch.

So, so it's gonna be probably, it's gonna be pretty.
Corners are kind of rough. They're like they it's like
super square, and I'm like, I don't want my soap
to be so rough. Yeah.

Plus I can get body washed though. Yeah he has
the body wash.

Yeah, They've got like like flannel forest and spiked cider and.

There is I can't think of the one. Yeah, yeah,

There's a there's a barrel. There's a barrel, one wood barrel,
something that smells really good. And then Dude Pine Tar
is the best.

One where they actually do character ones too, and they're
really good, like your favorite actor. They so he does
he really likes the joker from Batman. That's a good flavor. Okay, Yeah,
I get very frustrated with Brody though. He asks Michael
for advice on here and it gets to be very mad, like.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
You know your father's bald.

Speaker 4 (05:05):
Well, they have a conversation about well, that's what I
get annoyed about because Brody has curly hair. I have
curly hair. So Michael will be like, you don't need
condition and I was like, you shut up, yeah, you
don't even you have no idea what you're talking about.

Speaker 1 (05:21):
Yes, when did you get home? I thought you were
saying goodbye at the Why still.

Speaker 4 (05:24):
Yes, you don't understand that you use body wash on
your head, but that doesn't mean our Like I just learned,
not just learned. When Brodie was younger, he was using
body wash on his hair and I was like.

Speaker 3 (05:35):
Oh, no, no, no, no, you.

Speaker 2 (05:37):
Can always tell when someone emerges with the body wash hair. Yeah, Like,
there's just it's just something about it that you look
at it and you're like.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
Well, especially curly hair, it's dry, it rise it out
like crazy.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
It is a beautiful thing about being bald, is that
I don't worry about any of that because even if
it is drying. Yeah, there's nothing, Yeah to dry out.
Have you ever thought of trying to rescue it? I
grow it?

Speaker 2 (06:00):
Yeah, go to like hymns or No.

Speaker 1 (06:04):
I've never done that, but I've thought about just owning
the grow out. But I actually I don't think I
would like it. But do you remember I don't know
if you remember this when the last place we worked together, Yeah,
there was I want to say, in like seventeen or
eighteen or nineteen, I did the November. But I did
it with my head and I did it with my face. Face.

Speaker 2 (06:24):
Here's what happened, Remember your face.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
I grow hairs so poorly and so slowly that at
the end of the month, nobody realized I had let
my face go. You I remember this, And then my
hair just looked. It was just getting to the point
where people were going, oh, you're looking like you could
use a haircut. I'm like, it's a month, guys, We're
a month. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:47):
I remember you saying you don't know's anything about me?

Speaker 1 (06:51):
I remember. And then during the shutdown, when the bars closed,
I had made that stance I will wear the same
shirt and I will not cut my hair or shave
until the bars reopened, and I didn't realize it was
going to be almost three months. It's going to be
months at the end of that three months. If you
watch the video where I shaved my head and you go, h,
he's a little fuzzy, I just don't bro gosh.

Speaker 3 (07:13):
That was such a thing during COVID, the growing out
the hair.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
H oh.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
Yeah, I went opposite. That's when I learned how to
cut my own hair.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
I remember my friend Luke.

Speaker 4 (07:23):
I had met him for the first time, and he
was a cave man like it was just it was
our first summer we met because our kids became friends
that summer playing baseball and it was their first year
playing baseball together. And I remember him walking past me
three months later with a shaven head and face. I
did not recognize the man, like he literally walked right

past me. Because that was such a thing. Such it
like so many people did that. Yeah gosh. Now when
we think about it, like, what did you to protest
the bars? I grew out my facial hair like it's so.

Speaker 1 (07:59):
I know it was we think shirt every day for
three months. Congratulations stuck it. Yeah, we all made fun
of you behind your back.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
Otis No, I adopted like a school uniform during COVID. Yeah,
because I wore the same like fleece basically in jeans,
and then I came home, I stripped it off, we
washed our clothes, I put it on the next other.
What's the point and we might as well just have
a school you.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
Know, we were great, so silly. It was great. It
is fine. You really like that it was. It was
very liper. It's a lot easier it was. I think
the future should be all of us in a track suit,
you know, very Sopranos style. Kind of at this point though,
why not? Like my wife is the same hoodie basically
all weekend. Whatever the hoodie is on Friday is the

hoodie for the weekend. Especially if we just got it embroidered.
You get a kiss logo on the corner of it.
You could wear the same shirt every day. I will
always be working every day. I'm fine with it.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
Just have it kind of like a mister Rogers sweater,
but no one really knows that you don't take it.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
Off, and then you have your outfit for weddings and funerals.
I kind of have that. I have the suit.

Speaker 2 (09:06):
Do I have ass suit with about nineteen different guy
and shirt combos.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
But it's a suit and if you see me wearing it,
if it's a Friday, it's a wedding. If it's a Tuesday,
it's a funeral.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
Right Yeah, starting to get to the point where I
need another the suit. This the suit is getting a
little worn.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
Well when you go to the funeral and they saw
you wearing the same thing at the wedding, getting people
are starting to die. Now. All the Chicago shows are
back tonight. Oh excellent.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
Yeah, we're time lighting fires and we're saving lives.

And having elementaries on tonight.

mel is back tonight.

Chicago Fire, that Chicago PD.

So these are all the season premiere. So BED is eleventh,
Fire is fourteenth, and PD is thirteenth. I guess I
thought PD was first, but it wasn't.

You've got the Golden Bachelor, Yes, got Abbott Elementary, You've
got ninety nine to beat. That is the new show,
I believe, with Aaron Andrews as the host.

Yes, yep, that looks that looks interesting? Is that is

it with her or was he just on I feel
like on the promo those two were together.

So how does this work in baseball? Wild Card? Is

I think it was. I believe it was first introduced
in this format during COVID. It became permanent in twenty
twenty two, where it was okay, wild cards best of three.
Manfred and the boys in the in the top office
are like, all right, wild cards best of three. So Tiger's, Cubs,

Red Sox, and Dodgers all victorious last night games two's
will be today. Since it became permanent in twenty twenty two,
no team has ever come back down on one, not
a one twelve Yeah wow, which is a little strange
because a two game winning stress and that baseball is
not that big of it early a streak, but all

of them the wild the way it's set up is
the better record hosts all of the game. Oh okay,
that makes it so it changes things. But yeah, Tiger's Cubs,
Red Sox, Dodgers, Dodgers at home, Cubs at home. So
if we go on the road and Tigers, if we
go up past math, whoever won yesterday's game will win
tonight's game based on well, they'll win at least one

of the next two. So based on statistics since twenty
twenty two, will play the Cubs, but obviously that's not
San Diego is perfectly capable of winning two games.

The fun thing about math, yeah, is that it's not
always I don't know always it's always right, but it's
not always right because sometimes the equation we do is wrong.

They were all awesome games except for the Reds Dodgers.
Reds Dodgers is a blowout, but every other game was
incredible pictures duels.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
So who do we want? I want Chicago for the drama.

You cannot deny the incredible drama that would be Brewers
first of all, Just Brewers Cubs I ninety four series
for the divisional series. That would be awesome. And then
you have the Craig Council wrinkle to that. It would
be incredible drama. That's the last team I want to
lose to.

Though. Now this is that makes me gut turn. So
this is where I get confused. And again, for those
of you who are new or don't know, I'm not
a huge sports guy. So in football, sometimes in the
playoffs we can play our division rival right away. Sometimes
we can play them later in the playoffs. Does that
happen in baseball too? If we so we end up

playing divisional opponents quite a bit. So is there a
chance we could play Chicago later? No? Or because of
the way it fell this time it has to be now.
It'll be the division and that's it. Yeah, So this
is our time. This is it, This is our time.

Yes, it makes my stomach turn and twist and do
gymnastics moves the like of which Simone Biles would be jealous,
because you I want it, because it's kind of what
you want. You want that awesome, drama, crazy series. But
then you want to win so badly against Chicago that

a loss would be awful. It'd be awful. It would
be awful. That would be such an awful way to exit.
And you can somehow wrap your brain from the competitive
standpoint around losing to San Diego better. It doesn't make
the loss better, but it makes you feel a little
better about the lawless angry. Yeah, I don't even think

it supreme disappointment, got it. I always it's this is
a hard one because you have the best overall record
in baseball, so that changes things as well. But postseason
to me is always just it's awesome to get I
love getting that. Getting there is so hard, and in
baseball it's such a grind. So getting to the postseason
I think is really special, especially in baseball. So when

you lose, it's really devastating and it's hard and you
wanted to get to that next level. But everybody you
play went through a six month, tested, metal and fire
grind to get there. So every one of them is
hungry and everyone we forget this all the time in sports.
Every single team believes they are the team of destiny.

(15:21):
Every team has a story that makes them, in their
mind and in their fan base, a team of destiny.
We're riding the euchre wave right now, and that's that
people think that we're a team of destiny. Because of that,
the Cubs have their own team of destiny story, and
a lot of it has to do with Milwaukee right now.
In Craig Council, they believe they're a team of destiny.
They believe they're the team that was supposed to make

it in take on the Brewers, beat them in their house,
and go on to greatness. Everybody's got a story that
factors in over the span of starting in spring training
that makes them an amazing team to root for. A
team of destiny, the one that baseball gods are on
our side. Cincinnati believed that as they rolled through and
put together in a credible run. The Guardians thought that

because they had an insane September and overtook the Tigers
and now hosts the series, and now they're on the
verge of losing. So everybody's got that team of Destiny story.
So I never put too much stock into that like
that that. I always feel like you have to die back,
dial back a little bit come postseason. I just don't
want to lose it. I don't want to lose the Cubs.
And it doesn't really have anything to do with council.

I don't want to lose to Chicago. I don't want
to lose to the Cubs. I don't sound like the.

Baseball sounds stressful, Katie, Why do you like this? It
is stressful.

It's just about you don't want It's just like you
don't want to lose to Minnesota for football.

I just feel like the slowness of baseball is what
would aggravate me. It's like four hours of anxiety. And
sometimes at the end of the game there's like two scores.

That's the challenge of baseball. That's the mental that's that's

higher than any other postseason stress.

so low because it's baseball is just that game where
can always turn on a single pitch. But in the
postseason there's some every pitch you would you kind of tense,

want to explode. And then every base hit is like
and you're like up in your high five. And and
then every out, every out with a runner in scoring
position is the worst play you've ever seen. You're just, oh,
I got that, I that hit so badly, and then
you like breathe in between innings, and then it comes
on again and it's it is like, I don't know

how to describe it. I've been to an NFC championship
game in lambeau Field, I've been to a championship series
at then Miller Park. Right now, it's I don't know
how to describe it. It's unbelievable stress. But you love
every second of it because when you explode, when you
get that key hit, or you get the strikeout, or

you you've got a guy down at second base, it
is the most euphoric feeling and that you feel like
you just won the World Series. Every single pitch case

And you see a kid on the ground writhing like
just and I'm like, crap, that's my kid.

like an undercooked.

In that context, soggy bread, grilled cheese is pretty bad.

And Brody, for all of the sports he's played, this
is the first time I've ever seen him down. And

that's not good. And everyone's going, oh, maybe you have
the wind knocked out of him. Maybe you know when
everyone's trying, and I go, no, I know it's his
lower extremities, whatever it is.

And I stood my ground, I do anything. I sat

Sam has coached him four years. I'm gonna wait, tell

got him. I go, Sam knows him as well as
I do. Sam will turn and give me a look.

Katie the trainer was out there like, and then I'm
just like, that's a surgeon and he's got a gurney.

Then and I go, he's just gonna walk there emergency
surgery on yourself. Like, I'm like, he's just gotta walk.

Walks put back now, I don't think he can't walk.

So he walks. So he does get up and walk
and he walks off. You by the way, Brody goes.
Everyone collaps, he goes. It's so like just and the
word he was trying to say was condescending. He didn't
understand which word he was going for, so so then

to get his attention because I'm like, I just need
to know, Like I just need to know how serious
I need to take this. So I'm like, broads broad
and he is ignoring me.

And he is ignoring me because I didn't tell you
guys what happened on Friday night at the high school
football game. We I had a wedding Friday night, and
Brody is water boy for the high school team, so
we weren't sure whether or not we were gonna make
it in time to pick him up from the football game.

Well, because we're close off, you could walk home.

So Friday night, I get to the football game in time,
and I didn't realize he had his phone on him.
So I'm sitting again with my friend Jenna, and I'm
screaming Brodie to the point where he texted me and
he said, Psycho.

How do you know it's me? And maybe it's a
girl who And.

The only reason I feeling his name is to be like, hey,
I'm here, I'm here.

I didn't know you were here. Mom, everybody knows you're here.

So you tried to learn my lesson from Friday Night,
like let's not scream Brodie's names.

So now you're ignoring your hurt son. Your son is
on the field, potentially dying, and you're going.

It seems like we went about this backwards, like the

own little like pool owned building where we have all
the rooms and we even have two restaurants that are

far at all. It's literally like we're talking feet. I
mean it's not far, but it's it's distant enough. The
way they set it up there is that you feel
secluded from it, but you're right there.

in one little part of the three. Then you have
the middle of buildings, then you have the other part,
which is the family So there's doors. I make a
grand entrance every day when we go to the other side.
It's like two cots. I was like, oh, we're on
the other side. Yeah, it's all nicely connected and easily walkable.

just mentioned. There's a sports bar, there's a movie theater,
there's all kinds of things to do over there. There's

We set down the beach a couple times already, and
the sand is so soft and so white, and you
don't see any like a speck of seaweed, and the
water's been like crystal blue, clear and warm. And when
you get out to the beach, they have tons of chairs.
They have a barrow there, two bars, maybe just because
the two areas and then east Bluemuharis. The island is

right across, so you can actually see the island and
that helps with keeping things calm, cool and collected.

Fun excursion schedules out to the island. You can take
a little snorkel over there and then box the island
