So I gotta tell you about my experiences. I was
walking the small short walk, the short walk here. So
there's a woman, probably about fifteen feet in front of me.
Woman and there's a truck that rolls up hey, and
she just kept walking and I was like, oh.

The truck is yelling to the woman. Yeah okay.

She ignored them, and I was like, good for you, yeah,

And I go, well, there's no parking till five am
I go? Then the world is yours?

And then she goes, okay, and I go, I don't
know what you wanted me to stay here?

Yeah, Honestly, at this hour, why would anyone expect anyone
necessarily randomly walking down the street to have a lot
of intel like at this point, I we essentially have.
We've we've encountered people who are behind walls, behind like
security points and checkpoints or or what can they get
like barricades and things. The random drifters essentially.

I did see somebody with a luggage thing though, like
they were real and like, oh they did did they
get a wheeluck?

yesterday speaking of knowing where I'm going. Yeah, and I'm
not gonna be able to hear him because of my headphones,
but he went right. When we were at the media day,
it was about to downpour. So I said to Joe, like,
you guys were all on the field doing stuff, and
I'm like, let's get out of here. So Joe goes, okay,
and he goes, I'll drive you to where you parked.

And I was like, oh, that's awesome, thank you. So
he goes, where did you park?

No, I was very proud of myself.

I was gonna say, smelling this out.

I'll put that into my phone and maybe if we
wind up there. So I was like, I was like,

I I ended up going into home Field Pub and Social. Yeah,
they were closed because all the restaurants had to be
closed for bomb.

bring the dogs in bomb sweep.

So they're just rolling through, got a lot of a
lot of credentials and I thought that's a shame. And
I said what happened? And he goes, I'm Bob sorry,
and that was it. And I was like, oh my gosh.

He looked important.

Were like an honor like because you know we have
the Brady Bill, it's the Bop bill.

We were scanning his little QR code and I was like, wow,
you get in a lot of places. It's too bad
your named Robert that this was the most fun game yesterday.
It was really weird.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
Because Robert Griffin Junior when he was drafted, they didn't
have no.

Speaker 5 (06:25):
Roberts on the media credential. It's got the scantron, it's
got the QR code, so that that they scan you
and know whether or not you have access to certain things.
But it's just out in the open, so we're just
kind of standing there. Anytime we were around and I was.

Like, oh, try and scan that guy. See where you

It was really fun sting out there in the rain all.

And I know first world problems. I don't know what

one on me, and then I was this guy with
like seven bracelets and it looked like I was really
active for a lot of causes. So it kind of
made me feel good where it was like, oh, he
represents a lot of people.

I imagine you have a rubber made in the basement
that's just filled with every laminate and every wristband that
you've ever gotten.

That's one of the coolest things about this hosting job
that we have, and it was something that you overheard
a lot yesterday with national media in particular who was
in town, and you hear all the side conversations with
them talking to packers' officials and getting their bearings and
trying to understand the map. They send you the map,
and you're looking at the map, but if you're not,
even if you are from around here, it's overwhelming because

it essentially is a brand new city that's built within
the city. And listening to them talk and understand how
close everything was, they couldn't believe it.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
It was hysterical. I was trying to figure out which
guy it was. Yeah, I was with a couple from
like an independent media. We got stuck inside. Well, first
I was in home Field Pub and Social. By the way,
I got to check out the new menu.

Speaker 6 (09:30):
That looks great.

Speaker 2 (09:31):
It's just a great venue. And thank you to the
crew for letting us in there.

Speaker 4 (09:35):
That was really nice. Because it was pouring down rain.

I eventually started to sneak my way up and I
paided the Hinterland, which was also closed.

I should have stayed with you.

You should have because in Hinterland.

I should have just left with me and Joe.

Maybe I met these two folks Brooke and I don't remember,
I want to say Corey, and they were from an
independent thing out in Cali, and that was their whole take.
They could not believe how not only well organized it
all was, but how everything within Like he kept saying,
he goes, everything's like, I don't know, like eight hundred
feet away, and I go literally, it's all like eight

hundred feet.

Speaker 5 (10:09):
I cannot remember it because I couldn't quite see the credential.
But again, the scantron his QR code had a long
list attached to it, and he was unpacking some massive
boxes and there was TV equipment or filming equipment and
all this other stuff. And he was talking to one
of the packers officials who was down there, and he
had his map out and he was so draft theater

and he's kind of spinning around and she goes right
right down here, and he goes down like where and
she goes down here end of the block. He goes
this block, how many blocks? And she goes this block
and he goes down this block. Yes, and she goes yeah,
And he goes, do we need to shuttle? Where do
we pick? And she just no, it's at the end
of this block.

Speaker 3 (10:48):
And he goes right there, yes, yeah, he goes, we
could walk to everything.

Speaker 4 (10:51):
Yeah, if you take a shuttle.

Speaker 10 (10:53):

It was hysterical and it was just like this mind
blown He goes all right, all right, and he started
up box and everything. It was just neat to see
that vibe in that feel, and that was it's something
that's impossible to sell people ahead of time, where you
go listen when you get here, just get here and
you'll understand what we're saying. Where the campus so to speak,
is walkable. You don't have to drive, you don't have
to anything. Where are you staying there?

Speaker 3 (11:15):
Awesome?

Speaker 5 (11:15):
You're gonna walk to several restaurants.

Speaker 3 (11:17):
You're gonna walk to your parking spot, and then you're
gonna walk basically across a parking lot of a professional
football stadium, and then you're gonna get to where you
need to go there and then the luncheon that is
seventy five feet from the other one, and then the
draft house dive bar that's like fifty feet from where
you're gonna have the lunch. Well, it's funny.

Speaker 2 (11:33):
I'm standing next to a sign yesterday, and you know,
a lot out of town people they don't know they're
gonna drive in, and there's a sign that says park
one hundred and fifty bucks. And I'm thinking, man, literally
eight hundred feet from here, if you just knew, you
could park for free on the street.

Speaker 10 (11:47):
But you don't know.

Speaker 4 (11:49):
So we do have a little I know. I don't
want to tell you.

Speaker 5 (11:52):
No, it's pretty it is pretty spectacular. When the rain
hit yesterday, I should have stayed with you. I wanted
to wander over to the other side. But once the
shelter in place. Notice came they started shuttling people out. Yeah,
and the only way out once you get inside the perimeter,
it's a little Jurassic Park like like you're inside the
t Rex can't get out. And the minute they had

to shelter in place, they had to shut down the
one security checkpoint for the media. So they issue they
ushered everybody out and it was the biggest mistake I
could have possibly have made. And it was an instant
mistake where your feet from the exit and then just
go no, no.

Speaker 3 (12:32):
I'm out of the perimeter. And we turn around.

Speaker 5 (12:34):
The guy goes, oh, now, he goes, we're shutting it down,
and I was like okay, And it was me and
there were about three other media people and the one guy.

Speaker 3 (12:40):
Had all of his equipment. He just goes no, no, no,
and he's backing up. I'm like, we're outside. We made
it outside.

Speaker 8 (12:45):
What are we gonna do?

Speaker 5 (12:47):
So we're running around trying to find an awning to
duck under, and it was just pouring and then you
just had to sit there and steam just because you
can't you can't go in anywhere, but you have to
shelter somewhere, but nobody is letting three hundred media people
just pour into the Lodge Coaler.

Yeah, you would have liked it.

It was I wandered in and out of a couple
of places. Again, I want to thank the people who
eventually saw me and let me stay. Hinterland was great,
home field pub and social. Just awesome that they they
were like.

And that's kind of a nice thing about being local
is that those people know us and they're like, oh,
it's fine. But then these other people are coming in and.

I would have just said I had a smile appointment,
because yes, you're walking in, you know, unless you had
a reason to be inside Loge Coler. And it's absolutely
the right thing. I mean, they that's that's their business.
They can't just let people in and out. But it
was so funny because we would stand there and and
you're kind of in that little lobby area and the

woman was wonderful and she kept opening the door and
she goes, I'm so sorry, unless you have a room key,
and unless you're coming here for a spa or for business,

Was like, no, I'm staying with the Underhills.

I said, I'm totally I'm like, I'm totally fine with that.
That's not and she had to turn away. You put
this on their tab And then a couple guys came
in and he goes. She goes, do you have a
reason to be here? He goes, yeah, I'm staying here,
and she goes, can I see your room key? And
he produced it and he goes and I start kind
of walking in and Eddie was with me, and I'm like,
we're all with that guy.

We got to get up to the room because all
our equipment's up there, and she's like, you can't do that.

I goes, spare the SPA equipment is spot.

the kids and all the athletes, and then they open
it up and it was one of the funniest things
to watch as the media you begin to sense about

a guy that I just happened to know from doing
a couple of events, Senior executive flag football representative from

the National Football League Mike Daniels, who is an incredible
ambassador for the league and for the Shield and is
such a huge fan of Green Bay. And I ran
into him at the first event at the PEP rally
at Vallaville in Mountry and had a chance to visit
with him, but didn't really have a chance to get
with him, And so he's kind of standing by himself.

about it, I was with the prospects earlier today and

they're excited.

From a league standpoint, Mike, what is the relationship of
the Green Bay Packers to the community mean to you
and the shield? It's so special to this community, the
only one that exists of its kind in all of sports.
It'll never happen again. I honestly can't believe it's still
happening now on the landscape of pro sports. It is
such a unique situation. What does that mean for you
as the league to have that Well.

I'll say this Green Bay as a town and as
an organization, they're one of the blue bloods there. You know,
is a reason why they're one of the originals, and
so I think you always when you when you hold
that title and you you respect that title the way
this town does, it means a lot from an NFL perspective. Obviously,

having at this event, you have the commissioner here and
you have all kinds of legends and people that that
are here to support, and so Green Bay to the
NFL is really Horton and it shows that's why this
event is here.

If you don't mind me stressing NFL flag once again
and your commitment to that, and not only the commitment
to that, but what it is brought for young athletes,
for folks developing and now especially for girls developing into women.
It's an opportunity for them to not only play the sport,
but to excel at the sport, to represent their country
in the sport, to play professionally in this sport. It
used to be what we did in practice to get

ready for football, so to speak, and now it's a
sport in and of itself.

And when you think about this, for over one hundred years,
we've done whatever we needed to do, whatever part of town,
however poor, however rich, the towns were to make sure
that the boys played football and they had their opportunity

Now, the beautiful thing is is that the NFL, led
by Roger Cadell and Troy Vincent have given these ladies
and opportunortunity to do what we've been doing for over
one hundred years and have the opportunity to go be

going college and be on scholarship, to go represent your

country and play for on the Olympics, and then more
and more, most importantly, what's coming down the line is
be a professional.

And so it's an amazing time for flag football.

it for everybody, including the NFL. So we're grateful that

and just monopolizing him as people are waiting in line. Yeah,

establishing these types of relationships, the alumni relationships, and how
important that was to him to build that relationship.

for everyone who's like, oh my gosh, dude, AI is
the greatest, and there are still a few things we
apparently need to work out. I get super into the
mock draft stuff, into all of this, but I think
my favorite part about especially opening day first round, is
that you never know. You absolutely do not know until

this draft opens, and you can be the biggest expert
in the world with everybody in your little phone contact
list and all the guys you've talked to, but in
the end, you don't necessarily know what's gonna happen until
it happens.

And then you get a run on a position and
it screws.

Up everybody's draft board and you really have no idea
how a general manager, despite what they might tell you,
you really have no clue how their draft board is
set up in their war room, which positions there going for.
Are they drafting for need versus best player available? Are
the what their goals are, how they have ranked these
respective players. And so when the chaos ensues and the

first draft starts to fall apart, it's usually by about
pick five that something.

Happens and you're hearing it. Oh, didn't see that coming.

So I always like to run all different mock drafts
and grab all the experts mock drafts and kind of
compare them as the first round goes by, And so
I just threw it into AI and I was like, oh,
let's see what AI does, because that, in theory consolidates
all of the information from the web and all the
mock drafts that are out there and everybody. And I
literally just typed in twenty twenty five NFL mock draft
first round.

and all of them look at you like you're crazy,

prospect in the history of the world, but you will

best third season that you thought he was gonna have
and take that next step. You don't know what need is. Granted,
Packers have cornerback need, and they have line need, especially
defensive line, and they have these needs that you can
put your fingers on and it'd be great to have

some money. But you can market there either today or
you can market there all three days. There is street

Heritage Trail which starts at ten today. So what they've
actually done is the Historical Society and Evergreen Theater, Broncott

out some of the downtown history and the sites and

to one on the Heritage Trail today. And that's actually
a free event. A lot of this, yeah, a lot
of this downtown touchdown that the City of Green Bay
is putting on are free. Yeah, absolutely, And if they charge,

Bucks or whatever, a couple of bucks and that goes
to the Salvation Army.

happening as part of the draft, and then as far
as parking, that is the number one question out of
towners or people who don't even live directly in the
Green Bay area ask where do we park? I would, truthfully,

if I were you, I would look at where Lambeau is,
look at the streets they're gonna let you take to
get there, and drive as close as you can get
to Lambeau and park on a street. I'm not trying
to take away. These people selling the spots are gonna
make tons of money. There's so many people come out.
You can find street parking in the city of Green.

Bay, so not Ashwabana. Ashwabinon is different rules.

A Swabanon is technically where Lambeau is, but just north
of Ashwabana literally a block is Green Bay and you
can park on those streets.

You're gonna find parking lots, churches, schools, everybody who is
in this area is going to have an opportunity for

and pay because that's going to help them out or
go to a church and pay it.

direction to travel. It is going to be as easy
as you want to make it. If in your brain
you're gonna make it difficult and you want to make
it a process, it will be. But the setup here,

the Green Bay Packers, the National Football League, village of
Ashwaba on City of Green Bay, what they have done
and how they have set this up behind the scenes
over the last two years really is fantastic. The execution
