(01:06):
got for me, funny takes. I have a real I
got a real funny take coming up a little bit
later in the show, I I saw two very entertaining
things today at training camp, and these were not on
the practice field.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
Okay, that's good. Well I saw I think one in
a tweet. You saw one in a tweet, yeah, okay.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
The other will be released via tweet form today at
four forty five.

Speaker 2 (01:37):
All right, follow at Nate Krekman.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
And we shall discuss here on the K and L show.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
I got I got it.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
I told you I got a question for you that
I think will make you ponder. I think you'll have
a knee jerk answer. Ooh, and then you'll have to Hey,
you'll have to think at four to twenty.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
Yeah, but it kind of plays with our list for me.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
Yesterday, I am a bit of a knee jerk, So
that makes sense the knee. That's right. So taking me, Nate,
taking me all right?

Speaker 3 (02:02):
By the way, what you also missed that I was
gonna I was debating whether to ask Nick or not,
but I think we'll wait another week.

Speaker 1 (02:07):
What's that?

Speaker 3 (02:09):
I am excited about our guy Crossshaw with his stash
he stole from you, Sure, but it is not consistent.
I sat there with coach and Raj's sash. The punting bro.
Today was one of those days where you know, I
felt like half went where they shouldn't have and the
other half went exactly. Like, when he nails it, it

(02:30):
is awesome, But when he does it a couple of
times you're like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, Hey,
are they gonna have to bring in competition?

Speaker 1 (02:38):
Camp's tough on every ruth.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
I know it's early, but but you're like the only
guy here for that job.

Speaker 1 (02:45):
You know, Yeah, they're really banking on that one working out.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
Yeah, yeah, I mean some of this like flying out
of bounds.

Speaker 1 (02:50):
Good news is though, is there's always there's a roll
index of punters well which but with that sweetest stash,
I know you don't want to let that go.

Speaker 2 (02:59):
He can't, no you.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
I'm assuming that he moved up the draft board because
of the musk that happened.

Speaker 3 (03:04):
To our Australian friend at CSU. Is he still there,
Patty Turner, Patty Turner, what's he doing?

Speaker 1 (03:09):
Good question? I don't know.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
I mean, at least you'd switch Ozzie for Ozzy.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
Sure, I'm not sure what he's up to right now.
Also Patty Turner, Great Radio Interview not exactly. Ryan Stonehouse
good punter, sure, but not like all American good.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
Right.

Speaker 3 (03:25):
Yeah, there was look if cross shot and see if
I'm Sean Payton, I go, lookpal, if we can't, if
we can't get this a little more consistent to the
good side.

Speaker 2 (03:36):
Uh, you're shaving that stash.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
I've had thre I'm here for the punny.

Speaker 3 (03:40):
You can't have the stash until we're we're at least batting,
you know, nine fifty.

Speaker 1 (03:47):
You got to back it up a little bit.

Speaker 4 (03:48):
I do.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
I agree, Yeah, I agree, just saying I don't disagree
with you. Physical practice today, I loved it.

Speaker 3 (03:58):
Tyler and I were talking about it. It felt like
a joint practice.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
Yeah, liked it.

Speaker 1 (04:02):
Yeah, No, it really like today was a fun one.
They went right away when it was team stuff, they
went right to the run game and.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
It got spicy immediately.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
You know what that felt like when Shanahan, Yes, yeah,
when Shanahan would do.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
Goal line on the second Saturday of the of every camp.

Speaker 1 (04:22):
Oh yeah remember that. Yeah that was you can set
your watch to that.

Speaker 2 (04:25):
Yeah. It was fun, but inevitably somebody got hurt.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
Well, somebody got hurt. Somebody got in a fight. Somebody
lived right, which we can laugh about it now. Somebody
was bleeding. Sometimes it wasn't the somebody you want to no, no,
but it was fun. It was football today. On the
first run play and it was JK. Dobbins and he

(04:48):
and he bounced outside kind of went off tackle a
little bit and Dre Greenlaw blined it and he was untouched.
And you're not supposed to tackle. Guys aren't supposed to
be going to the ground. It's supposed to be thump,
you know, thud. That's what you're That's what you're supposed
to be doing in training camp. And Drake green Law,

(05:10):
I'm sure of it because somebody like this like this,
this is their you know, this is their nourishment. Okay,
this is what he consumes, I promise you. Drake Greenlaw's
eyes got real big, and for a moment, the little
the little devil on his shoulder was just like just
ruin him. And then he remembered, I'm a well compensated

(05:32):
professional football player and this is my teammate. I'm gonna
give him a little what have you. I'm gonna turn
up but the temp a little bit on this practice,
but I'm not going to fully declete. JK.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
Dobbins still didn't like it. He didn't appreciate it. He
let everybody know.

Speaker 3 (05:50):
He told the whole defensive side of the ball. He
didn't care about that.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
The hit was not well received.

Speaker 2 (05:55):
It was not.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
But you know what, and this is where I give
Dobbin's credit. He actually he went down on his next run.
It was more up the gut, and right then I
was just like, oh, this is this is going to
get bad. Dobbins, to his credit, went to his feet,
ran back to the huddle. Another veteran professional football player.
But damn dude, And what was good about it was,

(06:16):
you know, yesterday Andy, they were practicing on the farfield.
These media problems, but they're practicing on the farfield and
we're not able to see as well. Today we had
front row seats right at the line of scrimmage.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
Every word muttered to humanity, just smashing each other's faces.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
It was awesome.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
Well, and it just I looked so Nate Jackson was
biased and he was on the team. It just reminded
me of the time in Houston. They were joint practices
with Houston. They went three days in a row and
I remember it got chippy down there, because this was
a Mike Shanahan team that was very much a thought
up versus it's getting you ready, I need some madness.
This is good, this is good versus it don dom

(06:58):
Caper's Texans team, and he liked his guys hidden. And
again there they thought they had an agreement and somebody
tried to block. I think someone put Ean Gold on
his back with a like a two.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
Little two spikee.

Speaker 3 (07:12):
Maybe the running back himself ran over Ean Gold. Yeah,
and all you hear it was Al Wilson.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
Go oh, it's like that, are we bleeping doing that?
And I mean Jeff Putzer was closer. He goes, I
saw Al strap of both chin straps, like he went
from the things hanging down. So now the helmet's firmly on.
And this is what he said.

Speaker 3 (07:32):
I remember we were watching it from afar because you
heard Al yell. Because one way was like Houston O,
you know, Bronco D. And then the other way it
was the other way, you know, Houston D Bronco.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
Oh.

Speaker 3 (07:44):
So we all turned around and watched it. Al sent
three dudes off the field in a row, like three
Texans left hobbled somehow in a row, and I think
he got the guy that started it.

Speaker 2 (07:55):
All the most. I miss Al Wilson. See, I ain't
Greenlaws got a little Al he does, he does, you
know what I mean? How else didn't really care?

Speaker 1 (08:03):
You know, Peyton was talking about green Law the other
day and talking about how good he is in space
and the physicality that he has out there. Brandon Marshall
was a pretty good week side linebacker. Wesley Woodyard was
a pretty good week side linebacker on this team. I
still think, in my time covering the team, I still

(08:27):
think DJ Williams is the best will linebacker that I
have seen in a Bronco uniform. I mean, his athleticism
was so insane.

Speaker 2 (08:37):
Yeah, okay, well let me three who else he got
for me? Low key? I don't think he'd be on anyone's.

Speaker 3 (08:45):
First mention, Okay, any Travathan. Yeah, I want you to
really think about what I mean. He could cover, Yeah,
he could tackle.

Speaker 1 (08:54):
Danny was a beast. He got paid too.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
He did get and he deserved it.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
Turns out the Broncos probably should have paid.

Speaker 1 (08:59):
Him, right, you know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (09:01):
When he left, I was like, oh, that sucks, but
you got other guys.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
Lost a little physicality.

Speaker 3 (09:05):
He started watching him with the Bears, You're like, ah,
we maybe should have held on him.

Speaker 1 (09:09):
Yeah, a good player, that is.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
I see now you.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
Got me running through John Mobley was a hell of
a linebacker, but he was an outside guy.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
DJ was so good to your point, and so much
fun to watch.

Speaker 1 (09:19):
And I hated when they moved him inside because he
wasn't as good well, because when he could work in
space he it just like, his lateral quickness was insane.

Speaker 3 (09:29):
Yeah, look, guys, I'll tell you, and you grew up
watching the best one. Mike Singletary was the master of
sifting through the traffic and getting to the running back
or whatever you had to do. DJ just had a
little bit of trouble not getting sealed off from a
run because he you know, yeah, you're watching the backer.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
And when he was a middle guy, he wasn't. He
wasn't as good when he got caught in the wash.
But when he could work in space, My god, was
that dude. His burst was so friggin fast. What a
fun player. Let's hear from Riley Moss. He was asked today.
Riley Moss got a chance to chat with the media
after practice today and Riley Moss talked about this being

(10:10):
the most physical day of practice.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
Really good.

Speaker 5 (10:13):
You know this is our you know, third day with
full pads, and you can you can tell that guys
are starting to get used to the pads. You know,
we're flying around, the speed is increasing, and you know
it's it's good for us. We're getting better through that.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
Yeah, that's it's a professional football answer, right there. A
nice job there from Riley Moss not necessarily taking the bait. Also,
he's generally on the winning side, so he doesn't have
to dig into it too much. Marvin Mims had a
different reaction when he was asked about the defense starting
they're chirping today as they were. Here was Marvin Mims
talking about his locker buddy, Malcolm Roach.

Speaker 5 (10:49):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (10:50):
I mean it's just Malcolm Roach. I mean, sitting next
to him in the locker room. The guy doesn't shut
up these talking craft receivers. It's like, dude, like your
fat guy, like, go worry about that, leave me alone.
But uh, we're always going back and forth. But with him,
it's just a whole other deal.

Speaker 1 (11:05):
Leave me alone.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
You're fat guy, don't worry about that. I take offancer
all the fact. Worry about that cafeterias that way man.

Speaker 3 (11:15):
Yeah, yeah, right now they make these shots now, skinny,
real quick.

Speaker 1 (11:26):
Good stuff right there. And yeah, that's two of the
funnier dudes on the entire team right there, Malcolm Roach.

Speaker 3 (11:32):
You know, we probably should say it for those that
maybe missed it. The Malcolm Roach thing got here. We
talked about the run period, and we talked about Dre Greenlaw.
That was first now where Greenlaw gave the little headbutt
to JK. Dobbins on third down. Dobbins tried to run
to the outside and Malcolm Roach like submarined his lineman
and Dobbins and then got up, spiked his helmet and

(11:55):
had plenty of things to say that we could all
hear that we can't stay on the radio.

Speaker 1 (11:59):
Malcolm Roach is being very funny.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
Oh he was hilarious.

Speaker 3 (12:01):
He just kept yelling and yelling, and then Dobbins came
over and they continue their conversation.

Speaker 2 (12:08):
It was just good to see. It felt a little
robotic and a little sterile.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
Until today today they kind of got it going a
little bit. You can see how frigging good this defense is.
You know, I was just I was watching a just
a half speed rep. Right when I got in there today,
they were just doing some deep ball stuff and it's
it's Michael Bandy going one on one against Patrick Sirtan.
No offense to Michael Bandy. Bad matchup, bad, bad matchup.

(12:37):
And you know, Sir Tan has to let Bandy catch
the ball because that's the drill, okay, And the ball
gets lofted up. I think it was stitty that through it,
and Sir Tan went up and Andy, I'm telling you,
he was He could have dunked on a twelve foot
rim he was so frigging high. And then just he

(13:00):
could have one handed that thing and brought it down.
And then he just moved his hand out of the
way and floated to the ground like he look He
looked like Superman like in the movies, just landing and
then walking away, you know, like a really like sick paratrooper,
you know, like a guy done skydiving in his lands
and just eases into his landing. And Bandy makes that catch,

(13:23):
and I just I turned to I'd think I was
with bretton Vick at that moment, and I was just like,
I don't think you're ever gonna see Michael Bandy get
a catch on Patrick's r tan ever.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
Again, Yeah it's not a good match. Enjoy that one.

Speaker 1 (13:35):
Yeah, but it was to watch this sheer athleticism of
Patrick's artan from feet away, it is just amazing. He
is the closest thing to Champ Bailey I've ever seen
in my life.

Speaker 3 (13:50):
Yeah, but I gotta say he's a little more rocked up.
He's thicker than Champion.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
He is a little bit but like Champ. When Champ
left his feet, oh yeah, it was glory. Yeah, but
I don't know, it's so hard Andy, because like we've
watched Peyton Manning, we've watched Von Miller. I still to
this day sort of lean to Champ. Bailey's the best
football player I've ever seen in my life. When you

(14:15):
when you watched him work every single day up close,
it was and I felt like when I watched Champ,
I was just like, well, if you wanted to be
the best receiver in football, you could be that too,
because he was just that much that much better than
everybody else, like that much more elite than the elite
of the elite. Who are the guys that are in

(14:37):
the NFL. That was what I always thought about Champ.

Speaker 2 (14:42):
Yeah, I don't.

Speaker 3 (14:44):
That's a whole different discussion. You know, it's interesting too
because the Vaughan bend. I've watched von bend his bodies
in ways at full run that I don't know how
he keeps his balance, but I don't know how he
doesn't knock himself out of.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
The point von Miller in any one on one pass
rush trail where.

Speaker 2 (15:02):
He would just do that dip thing.

Speaker 1 (15:03):
You just you've, like again a millionaire football players. You
kind of felt bad for the guy that was trying
to block him. You kind of felt bad for him
because it was just like that, that's not fair.

Speaker 3 (15:14):
Yeah, nobody can stop that, my guy, just so you know, Yeah,
neither can you.

Speaker 1 (15:18):
Yeah, and then don't feel bad about it, all right, Andy,
what do you got for me? You're gonna you're gonna
cause me pause, Coming up next, coming up next, Okay, And.

Speaker 3 (15:25):
This is it'll be one of those text in things
three or three five h four nine two five. This
might get spicy. We haven't had a lot of Ring
of famers to talk about, all right, But for whatever reason,
it hit me, I think someone should be a candidate,
even though they were left off our top twenty five lists.

Speaker 1 (15:44):
Oh god, all right, I'm eager to have this conversation
coming up next. We had a lot of the backers
in Shankers Studios. Our passion is football, their passion is justice.
How passionate are we about football? Well? Altitude Sports Radio
is now in the home for west Would one's coverage
of the National Football League, beginning with Week one, Sunday

(16:07):
Night Football, Monday Night Football, Thursday Night Football, International Series games,
the Thanksgiving Day triple Header, Christmas Day playoff games, all
that good stuff, every one of those games, every big
NFL game this year, you're gonna hear it right here
on Altitude Sports Radio ninety two five. We love football.
This is the home for football. We're doing it right

(16:28):
here on Altitude Sports Radio ninety two to five. And
we are so excited to have Westwood one on board
for us. Let's see Week one, Andy Ravens Bills Sunday Night, Vikings,
Bears Monday Night, Thursday Night or Cowboys Eagles, gonna be

(16:50):
good stuff, Brazil game, Chiefs, Chargers, all right here on
Altitude Sports Radio ninety two five. All right, what do
you got for me?

Speaker 2 (16:58):
Here? All right?

Speaker 3 (16:58):
So I don't know why This is one of those
you know, Andy thoughts as you walk around and do your.

Speaker 1 (17:03):
Stuff, Andy thoughts.

Speaker 2 (17:04):
And I guess I was thinking about this is last night.

Speaker 1 (17:07):
It's a new segment on our show, Andy thoughts.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
It could be a lot of things.

Speaker 1 (17:10):
It could be. It could really we could go diving into.

Speaker 2 (17:13):
The desk, we could go drift far away. We want
her show promises, There's no doubt about that.

Speaker 3 (17:19):
But anyway, I was getting ready for bed, and I
guess I was thinking back to our list, right, and
somebody had written in and offered this person up is
should we include him on our top ten of Denver athletes?
And who would be in the outside and votes received.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
And all that.

Speaker 1 (17:34):
Okay, So yesterday for a quick reminder for the audience
that this was the topic, okay, in in assuming and
essentially tacitly agreeing the top five athletes in Denver currently Joker, McKinnon,
mccar Certan, Jamal Murray. Then who rounds out the top

(17:55):
ten beyond that, and really the debate being who's next,
Who's number six? We came to a show consensus Aaron
Gordon at number six, Devon Tab's at seven, Bo Nicks eight,
Valnachushkin nine, Zach Allen ten. That was our top ten
that we came up with yesterday. That's current Denver professional athletes.

(18:18):
Big Four again, guys, I know there's soccer and skiing
and lacrosse and a lot of sports. I get it.

Speaker 2 (18:25):
We're big sports. We stuck to the main Yeah, I know.

Speaker 1 (18:28):
We got Denver Summit FC coming to town, all that
good stuff. We just we kept it to the Big
four because we're basic like that. So that's where we stayed.
Who did we miss?

Speaker 2 (18:39):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (18:40):
Somebody wrote in later as we were accruing our votes,
those to receive votes, Yeah, why not Garrett Bowles?

Speaker 1 (18:48):
Why not?

Speaker 2 (18:50):
Okay?

Speaker 3 (18:50):
And it got me thinking now again, you know had
the guy as he's been a part of one playoff
team and that was last year. He did have a
rough start, There's no doubt about it. Matter of fact,
I've gone on a Ranter two when we had the
famous holding offense number seventy two. First three years of

(19:11):
his career were an after disaster. They were to the
point where his own GM who drafted him, question on
his call in show, does he know the rules on holding?
So it did start rough, But this is a guy. Now,
what's he earned two other contracts from the from the Broncos.
Since he's considered one of the better left tackles, what
do you think put him ten five? He's up there

(19:34):
as far as left tackles. You don't hear the complaining
about him anymore. I would say he's probably a top
ten left tackle in the game.

Speaker 1 (19:43):
I'll give you one measure. Okay, okay, And this is imperfect,
but I tend to when it comes to offensive linemen,
all right, and schemes are different. As Sean Payton pointed
out yesterday, sacks are often a quarterback stat, not necessarily

(20:03):
on the line, minu et cetera. I get all that.
Here's just one measure, though, Garrett Bowles is the thirteenth
highest paid left tackle in the NFL. Okay, that's one
way to look at it. And typically dollars are what
speak the loudest in the NFL, so one way to
think of it. Either way, he is You're right, he's

(20:26):
knocking on the door of top ten and at the
very least is an upper half of the NFL tackle So.

Speaker 2 (20:34):
Should he be considered for Ring of Fame? Now?

Speaker 3 (20:39):
I mean, look his years of service at this point
and a lot of things could change, but because it's
the NFL and things always do, it does not feel
like Garrett Bowles is going to play for any other
organization in his career. Seems unlikely, and it's going to
be a double digit career by the time it's all
said and done, right unless and again we speaking today,
nothing catastrophic has happened to him, and he plays position

(21:00):
that that could happen to you know, Chris Cooper was abruptly.

Speaker 2 (21:04):
Kind of ended there. That was that was sad, you know. Frankly,
j D.

Speaker 3 (21:08):
Walton was off to a nice start in his career
and got his ankle snapped off and that was.

Speaker 2 (21:11):
Kind of it for him.

Speaker 3 (21:13):
So barring something catastrophic like that, Garrett Bowles will have
been a double digit player had really he's been a
starter his entire time as a Bronco YEP, and he's
only going to probably play for one franchise, So does
he deserve you? And I kind of asked a similar
question when Justin Simmons departed a couple of years ago, right,

(21:37):
and again, this isn't exactly from twenty sixteen till the present,
and hopefully they can rewrite a new chapter this year.
Not a lot to write home about. If this period
of Bronco football we've all endured, Nope, and I'll say endured.
But if Garrett Bowles does finish this four year contract

(21:58):
he had signed and it only plays for the Broncos, is.

Speaker 2 (22:04):
He Ring of Fame quality? Does years of service matter?
Does the era? Does the winning? How much of this
factor's in?

Speaker 1 (22:12):
Okay? So right now, Garrett Poles is fifty fourth in
franchise history in terms of games play. I think that
should matter in a Ring of Fame conversation. You should
have longevity as a Bronco unless you're you know, and
I will speak out of both sides of my mouth.
I've argued for DeMarcus Ware, despite being a three year Bronco,

(22:33):
to be in the Ring of Fame. But he was
the second best player on a Super Bowl Championship winning team.
So that's why I make that argument. Garrett Bowles is
fifty fourth in franchise history in games played as of
right now by approximate value, which Pro Football Reference throws together.
And I know that doesn't mean a lot right now,

(22:53):
but he's fifty sixth in franchise history. Here's there's two
things on Garrett Bulls give me pause.

Speaker 2 (23:01):
Fair enough.

Speaker 3 (23:02):
I'm not saying that he should be, but I think
I'm curious where the discussion goes.

Speaker 2 (23:07):
How about that.

Speaker 1 (23:09):
He's an eight year pro. Okay, three of those years
not good. He was a massive net negative five years
and he's been quite good. He really has, and he
has earned his contract and everything else. Like that, Like
Bulls has really impressed. Now, one of those years, in

(23:31):
twenty twenty two, he only played five games, he had
the injury, he was out most of the season. Give
the guy a lot of credit. He bounce back and
he has been good since that time. The other thing
that gives me pause on Garrett Boles, and this is
where if he is going to put together a real
Ring of Fame resume in the next couple of years,

(23:54):
the offense is gonna have to be a hell of
a lot better because Garrett Bules has been the starting
left tackle on a whole lot of super crappy offenses.
Fair enough, dude, fair enough, And I know it's not
like on the left tackle alone. Like Joe Thomas is
a Hall of Famer and he played in Cleveland forever,
So like that, that's not everything on a left tackle.

(24:14):
It's just like, man, you would be honoring somebody that
played on offenses here in Denver that were generally pretty
trash well and again you played. Yeah, I mean, it's
a part of the drinking game.

Speaker 2 (24:30):
It is.

Speaker 1 (24:31):
It is so right now to me, Bolls is Ring
of very good. But I will allow for if he
can put together two more fully healthy seasons. You know,
if he can play thirty thirty plus games over the

(24:52):
next couple of years, we sprinkle in some playoff victories,
maybe a deep postseason run somewhere in there in an AFC
championship game. Who knows, a Super Bowl LX is out
there for us. Okay, But if he can do something
like that, I think he can change the story. Right now.
But like as it stands today, is Garrett Bowles a

(25:15):
Ring of Famer? My answer is I don't believe he
is well.

Speaker 3 (25:18):
And someone just wrote in and said, longevity does not
make you a Ring of Famer, So I will offer
you up some support for that. Ken Lanier was the
right tackle in this town forever. I felt like my
entire childhood, Ken Lanier was their tackle and not in
the Ring.

Speaker 1 (25:38):
Of Fame, right right, It doesn't automatically mean that I
would agree with that. Ken Lanier by the way eleventh
and franchise history and games played.

Speaker 3 (25:47):
So let me also then let's expand this too, because look,
Courtland Sudden may have something to say. By the time
this is all said and done, he's extended himself. He
may be a lifetime Bronco. We brought up Simmons, but
it is this era.

Speaker 2 (26:01):
Of Bronco football.

Speaker 3 (26:04):
Is it worth remembering anything in the Ring of Fame
when you consider the championship years of the past. And
I do think it's a little bit funny because I
think if you were to go back and actually audit
the Ring of Fame, you might get rid of some
guys out there because you just were excited to celebrate
something of your past, you know what I mean, even
though you didn't have a lot of championship glory to celebrate.

Speaker 1 (26:23):
Now you do sharing number eighteen, you go, yeah.

Speaker 3 (26:28):
But I'm just saying, See, a lot of people are
riding in and saying there's no way they'd have Bowls
over Clady.

Speaker 2 (26:33):
Which is an interesting argument.

Speaker 1 (26:35):
Pete Ryan Clady is a player.

Speaker 2 (26:39):
If he could have stayed health he couldn't health was
was not on his side, you.

Speaker 3 (26:45):
Know, but that guy he didn't play as much. But
I guess the answer is if the answer is longevity
doesn't matter.

Speaker 1 (26:51):
Lady was also on some good offenses. He was.

Speaker 3 (26:53):
There's no look, man, this is an odd place for
me to be because you and I had spent.

Speaker 2 (26:59):
Years, years laughing while bagging replaced the left tackle right.

Speaker 3 (27:05):
But now all of a sudden, for the last five
as you pointed out, it has become he's been steady.

Speaker 1 (27:09):
Eddy, Yeah, he's become very dependable. I can't go there yet.
I can't get to a Garrett Bulls ring. And and
it's and you're right, I am probably largely tainted by
this era of Bronco football.

Speaker 2 (27:23):
Well, it's been bad, Nate. No, you bring up a
great argument. It's terrible when when we are joking about
sixteen points for like three or four years.

Speaker 3 (27:30):
In a row, and you just want to kick a
hole in the wall. You know, we just said it yesterday.
One of the most fun Bronco games was the Cleveland
game from a year ago because we got to see
some damn scoring inside in power field for the first
time in five years.

Speaker 1 (27:43):
Forty one thirty two fun one good time. Seventy plus
points scored in that game, good time. I had fun
watching that football game. But yeah, it's there's just been
too much of that of bad offensive football. And the
other hard part about.

Speaker 2 (27:57):
It is.

Speaker 1 (28:01):
It's so funny because in many ways were prisoners of
the moment, and yet Garrett Bulls would actually kind of
contradict that because this fan base, and I would say rightfully,
so was so disappointed in bulls play and so frustrated

(28:24):
and disdainful of bulls play for three seasons. I think
in some ways, anytime he draws a penalty to this day.

Speaker 2 (28:33):
There's some smattering of booze.

Speaker 1 (28:35):
Smattering of booze. Look on Twitter. Of course Garrett Bules
got called for holding. Let me tell you the other
thing that I got a hold against Garrett Bulls, and
I don't believe this is his fault, but he still
said it. He's the guy that announced that he had

(28:56):
told Russell Wilson nobody's gonna touch you. And Russell Wilson
was sacked one hundred times in two years.

Speaker 2 (29:03):
AGA That's not all on Geartt.

Speaker 3 (29:08):
There's a few offensive linemen that would I have a
conversation with Russ about releasing the ball.

Speaker 2 (29:14):
It's a Russ thing.

Speaker 1 (29:15):
You're right completely, but also he did say that out loud.

Speaker 3 (29:19):
All right, let's have a little bit of fun, all right,
all right, let's just mean we're living in an alternate universe.

Speaker 2 (29:24):
So we get some football games.

Speaker 1 (29:25):
Played, training camp coverage on Altitude Sports Radio powered by
Ramo's Law, the official injury law firm partner of Broncos Country.

Speaker 3 (29:32):
Some people may be calling her almost law to sume
me for having this discussion, but whatever. Let's say they're
not afraid to talk Super Bowl over there, there's a
few national pundits that aren't afraid to mention the Broncos
as their dark horse super Bowl candidate. Yep, Let's say
the Broncos do what none of us would have expected

(29:53):
two years ago and they are in fact playing in
the Big Game. Okay, does that change the resume? Forget
if he's the starting all on a Super Bowl team?

Speaker 1 (30:03):
Oh, without a doubt. I again, like, take me back
to my original take on this, is that right now
my answer is no, But I will allow for the
possibility that Garrett Bowles can add to the resume in
the next two years and change the answer, Like I'm
answering it based on a well, if it ended today, no,

(30:25):
but two years from now and maybe a second team
All Pro nod and a team that plays deep into
the postseason and an offense that is, you know, top
ten in the NFL. Now, I'm willing to have a
difference this discussion about about bowls and what he's been
able to do. Like that's what's so weird about his career.

(30:48):
Eight year career. Three of them abject disaster, five of
them since then, and one of them was injury plagued.
But he's been a good player, including I think he
was a second team All Pro the COVID year, wasn't he.

Speaker 2 (31:01):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (31:02):
Then the f crowd when there was no crowd to
make anybody yet.

Speaker 2 (31:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (31:08):
Man, it's been interesting that by and large nobody has
said put him in the ring. But you know, again,
it's funny because you bring up the five year thing,
and I don't disagree with you, but yeah, we do
have some guys that have only been five year Broncos
up in that ring.

Speaker 1 (31:20):
Sure, John Lynch is in there.

Speaker 2 (31:22):
Someone just said, is John Lynch? Yes, John Lynch is
in there.

Speaker 1 (31:25):
Heyes, John Lynch.

Speaker 3 (31:26):
In part because politically the team thought had him being
part of two rings of Fames because he's in whatever
Tampa calls theirs would help his Pro Bowl or his
Hall of Fame case.

Speaker 1 (31:34):
And also there was great organizational appreciation in his role
in helping to get Peyton Manning in a Bronco. There
was there in that case lot of value.

Speaker 3 (31:45):
You should put DeMarcus in there, because DeMarcus got the
Super Bowl MVP on the straight and eraw.

Speaker 1 (31:51):
That's that's my my probably my my hardest Ring of
Fame stance is the whatever the Broncos guidelines for it
say you have to be a Bronco for at least
four seasons. DeMarcus was only a Bronco for three years.
I don't care. I do not care. He was the
second best player on a championship team. And as you
point out all the time, Andy, it was DeMarcus Ware

(32:14):
that took von Miller and helped put him on a
Hall of Fame track because Von Miller was on the
wrong track for some time.

Speaker 3 (32:21):
We were wondering if Vaughn was gonna get a second contract, right,
that was the track.

Speaker 1 (32:25):
He was exactly So DeMarcus Ware, I don't care what
you say. That guy belongs in the Bronco Ring of fame,
Craikman and lindallh Okay, I'm gonna put out a tweet
in the break. Follow me at Nate Krekman. I'm gonna
put a tweet out in the break and we're gonna
have some fun. This one will be a serious debate

(32:46):
on a far less serious topic that's coming up next.
Training camp coverage on Altitude Sports Radio powered by Ramo's Law,
the official injury law firm partner of Broncos Country Andy.
As I told you earlier, I had two interesting interactions
today down there at camp, and one was one was
on my way in and one was on my way out.

(33:07):
And uh, first off, on the way in walking into
camp this morning at ten am, walking with but behind
a group of bros. Uh, they were just rocking ten
am tall boys. They I was very impressed. Yeah, yes,
I managed to take a picture of that. That's that.
That that's on my Twitter page, my ex page at

(33:27):
Nate Correkman. Check it out. Nice young men. By the way. Also,
somebody was just like, you didn't show their faces. It's
obviously you, Nate. I didn't show their faces because I
gotta be honest with you, I'm not sure they were
twenty one anyway, Well they were very exciting. We're old now,
and yeah, who knew now? Actually that's a good point.

(33:50):
The other one I was. I was on my way
out of camp today and I was walking behind a
very nice family and and I had to strike up
a conversation with him because the gentleman was wearing a
Bronco jersey that I had never seen before.

Speaker 2 (34:06):
Nor have I. Yoh, he had me look at it.

Speaker 1 (34:08):
I'll tell you this, Andy, I didn't even know they
made this.

Speaker 2 (34:11):
One again, nor did I. Is that what taught them
not to make the jersey so quick? Right?

Speaker 1 (34:18):
I saw a dude in a Mark Sanchez Broncos jersey.

Speaker 2 (34:22):
Team that's a Mark Sanchez six for all of you
not familiar with the work, which he did wear.

Speaker 1 (34:27):
That was his number. This nice man, lovely family was
wearing a Mark Sanchez number six as he was leaving today.

Speaker 2 (34:41):
Did you find out is the last name of the
family Sanchez?

Speaker 1 (34:44):
I did, and the gentleman informed me, yes, that's my
last name. And actually I have a Sanchez Jets jersey
as well.

Speaker 2 (34:56):
Okay, now, see that screws it up a bit. I
can roll with, Hey.

Speaker 3 (35:00):
It's my last name, but to purchase the Jets does
tell me you are a fan of the actual player
that is adorned.

Speaker 1 (35:09):
For it seems to be and and yes, like he
is wearing a Mark Sanchez number six. Now Mark Sanchez
for those of you that do not recall, Okay, Mark Sanchez,
former USC quarterback, went to a couple of AFC Championship
games playing with the Jets.

Speaker 2 (35:24):
Had a good start to the career.

Speaker 1 (35:26):
Yeah, nice enough, and then butt fumble and then never
the same.

Speaker 2 (35:29):
Yeah, went downhill for he was in Philadelphia.

Speaker 1 (35:32):
The Broncos traded for Mark Sanchez about I don't know.
Five weeks after they win Super Bowl fifty. Paton Manning
has retired, Brock Osweiler is a Houston Texan. They need
a quarterback. John Elway trades and acquires Mark Sanchez. It

(35:53):
was March eleventh, twenty sixteen. He was cut on September third,
twenty sixteen, meaning he was a Bronco for fewer than
six months and never actually played in a regular season game.

Speaker 3 (36:08):
Yeah, it was crazy, because here's what I remember. All right,
we're because that was the year. For those that don't remember,
Paxton Lynch gets drafted and we all pretty much assume
they're not going to play packson on a Super Bowl
champ tough schedule bab rookie quarterbacks, so we weren't expecting
too much from Paxton guy. They had to mess with
the whole you know, the throwing motion, all that.

Speaker 2 (36:30):
Yeah, so it mainly was a It mainly was.

Speaker 3 (36:33):
A Trevor Simmy and Mark Sanchez affair during that camp battle,
and it started off on the wrong foot when the
San Francisco forty nine ers roll into town for joint practices.
And remember the year before, I believe these two teams
got together and that Bronco defense that we'd find out
in twenty fifteen was pretty damn special.

Speaker 2 (36:49):
Yeah, they had a day with the forty nine ers, so,
you know, and weren't they also.

Speaker 3 (36:55):
Still involved in the who is the quarterback? How can
I not remember his name? And could see his face
clear day, the old forty nine er quarterback that they
thought would come here forever and then sued the NFL
for collusion.

Speaker 1 (37:08):
Colin Kaepernick. Yeah, that's what Colin Kaepernick's famous.

Speaker 3 (37:13):
Do you remember though, but Kaepernick, Well, but you remember
that Kaepernick, Why didn't you just go with.

Speaker 1 (37:18):
Guy that took a knee and got blackballed by the NF.

Speaker 3 (37:22):
Well, because I'm remembering, Yeah, look man, I'm remembering.

Speaker 2 (37:26):
A bit of a hot button issue. It was.

Speaker 3 (37:28):
But you remember Rand Marshall, the linebacker did it here too.
But the bottom line is it was amidst all this
chatter that they made trade for Kaepernick and instead they
op for Sanchez. Kaepernick had like some contract whatever. Bottom
line it was Simeon and Sanchez, Niners coming to town.
Sanchez throws like the same pick to the Niners that

(37:49):
he kept throwing to Bradley Roby in practice, and.

Speaker 2 (37:52):
I was like, what is this guy doing?

Speaker 1 (37:54):
It was awful.

Speaker 3 (37:55):
So then he goes through preseason, he can't keep throwing picks.
It looks like the job slipping away. And then the
all important at the time, the all important third preseason
game where you game plan for this one that feels
like forever ago. Simeon throws that pick, chases the guy down,
tackles him, but screws his shoulder up.

Speaker 1 (38:14):
Right.

Speaker 3 (38:14):
Remember that Sanchez comes riding in and in my mind
on the sideline.

Speaker 2 (38:19):
I'm like, here's where he reclaims the job. Here's where
we go into the season with the plan. He comes in,
has a nice drive going.

Speaker 3 (38:28):
Threw another pick and then throws it again, and I'm like,
we are watching this dude unravel in front of our eyes.

Speaker 2 (38:36):
Again.

Speaker 1 (38:36):
Yeah, he was done.

Speaker 2 (38:37):
It was incredible. He goes off to the Cowboys. He's
a backup. That's that.

Speaker 3 (38:42):
Did he They cut him, didn't they? They cut him
and brought in a different backup. Yeah, I can't remember.

Speaker 2 (38:48):
The guy's name. Was some Stanford guy. I think War five?

Speaker 1 (38:51):
Yeah, it was it was No, it was over. So
this is the question I now ask based upon having
seen a Mark Sanchez Broncos jersey in the wild. Okay. Also,
by the way, John Elway did once say the words
we're happy with Mark. We played that drop on our
show when we're talking about Springer, but he's actually talking

(39:13):
about Sanchez.

Speaker 2 (39:14):
Springs, Springs pretty happy with his vacation.

Speaker 3 (39:16):
Speaking of Twitter, Yes, you would have followed Springs Travail's.

Speaker 1 (39:20):
Springs living his best life right now? Okay. In the
in the in the let's call it the gap, the
manning to Nick's Gap. It was a long one, the
Oregon Trail that was, except everybody had tuberculosis.

Speaker 2 (39:40):
So Dysentery, Simeon.

Speaker 1 (39:45):
Lynch, Osweiler, Keenum, Flacco, Locke, Brandon, Allen, don't call me Jake, Driscoll, Brett, Rippon, Kendall, Hinton,
Teddy Bridgewater, Russell Wilson or Stiddy.

Speaker 2 (40:04):
Of that entire group that I just gave you.

Speaker 1 (40:07):
Okay, which one of those jerseys, if any holds up,
holds up, holds up? Which one of those?

Speaker 2 (40:16):
Could you?

Speaker 1 (40:17):
Could you where today and have it be at all
socially acceptable and not just purely for comedic reasons.

Speaker 2 (40:24):
Jace Kesum, do you think it's Keenum? Well, I mean,
look the guy at least what if what.

Speaker 1 (40:30):
If you got one that said Kesum.

Speaker 2 (40:31):
Keesuon would be the best?

Speaker 3 (40:35):
No, I would think case at least, you know you
had a fun moment or two with him, and he
did make it through the years that.

Speaker 2 (40:42):
They were hell bent not to play Chad Kelly.

Speaker 1 (40:44):
What were those fun little bit I know? Right?

Speaker 5 (40:47):
Oh?

Speaker 3 (40:47):
Remember they had the little fake run in November where
everybody thought it was coming around and then it was
blown up with your favorite play where they were facing
the Browns and he went for the fuel goal instead
of going for the touchdown. Remember that, But for a
half moment in November of Vance Joseph's first year or
second year with Keno.

Speaker 2 (41:08):
Fourth and goal down four and VJ kicked a field good.

Speaker 3 (41:11):
But everybody thought that, Okay, good defense is back and
maybe this offense is finding its footing.

Speaker 2 (41:16):
And no it didn't.

Speaker 3 (41:17):
It went down the drain against the Browns that night.
But I mean, seriously, as we look at it, thank
you Alan Baker for putting those up there. Look, I'd
say you could wear Trevor Simeon jersey, but people hate Trevor.

Speaker 2 (41:30):
I don't know why.

Speaker 1 (41:31):
I don't know why either.

Speaker 2 (41:32):
He's the ultimate underdog story. Yeah, it's fine. He was
the seventh rounderd he should have never seen the field. Yeah,
and he was.

Speaker 3 (41:38):
And again and he earned his way on you guys
could catch a football, you'd have go into the playoffs
the next year with him, and again, like all they
kept doing was filling that quarterback room with DrAk and
Trevor Simeon was good enough showing up that he had
to play.

Speaker 1 (41:51):
So I agree with you on that nobody should have
ever expected anything out of him, and he had a
couple of moments.

Speaker 2 (41:57):
No, no, keep it up there. I kind of like it.

Speaker 1 (41:59):
I'm referring to it, okay.

Speaker 2 (42:00):
And you blow that picture up. As a matter of fact,
you're helping me. Remember all these people.

Speaker 1 (42:05):
Gosh, Teddy Bridgewater did have the Broncos and playoff position
until he got hurt.

Speaker 2 (42:10):
No, I'm with you, but again, if you want see you.

Speaker 1 (42:12):
Talk, I'm still mad at him for not making the
tackle on the fumble.

Speaker 3 (42:15):
You talked about politically acceptable to wear. Okay, all of
these guys you.

Speaker 2 (42:20):
Wear silver Simeon.

Speaker 3 (42:21):
Someone's wanting to come up and talk to you about
it and yap at you about it.

Speaker 2 (42:24):
Yeah, the Teddy Bridgewater.

Speaker 3 (42:26):
Someone's going to tell you Drew Locke was better, and
Vic Fangio just hated him. You know, Russell Wilson, I
think we all boo and you know, Broncos country.

Speaker 1 (42:36):
Let's ride if I seriously, if you see somebody in
a Rust jersey, now you're just like, come on man, yeah.

Speaker 2 (42:42):
Come on bro, what we do?

Speaker 3 (42:43):
Okay, Brandon Allen, I think you just admired. Where did
you find that that that would be sick Jet drisk
led the one start too right, there's a nine. Finally,
I keep complaining about nine, that whu funga and they
almost want it.

Speaker 1 (42:57):
You know what would be the funniest one, Kendall h
Kendall Hinton if you busted out a Kendall Hinton Jersey.
Was he one for thirteen throwing the ball that day?

Speaker 5 (43:07):
Right?

Speaker 3 (43:07):
And we got Philip Lindsay and there Philip Lindsay really
was just the Wildcat quarterback.

Speaker 2 (43:11):
Remember all this stuff about hitting in the.

Speaker 3 (43:13):
First plotechnically hems Phil into Wildcat.

Speaker 1 (43:16):
He technically started.

Speaker 3 (43:17):
But it was crazy how many times did the numbers repeat?
Because I asked you, I go of all the sixes.

Speaker 2 (43:22):
That you could pick for Broncos quarterback, Bobby.

Speaker 3 (43:25):
Brister, Jay cut Keller, you're gonna go with Sanchez.

Speaker 2 (43:30):
I didn't realize Flacco was five, Bridgewater.

Speaker 1 (43:33):
Was five, bronc Osweiler was six. I think when he
first showed up.

Speaker 2 (43:36):
To six and then went to seventeen.

Speaker 1 (43:38):
Yeah, okay, so you say it's case Keenum, Yeah, because
it just is kind of a forgettable whatever, you know
what I mean?

Speaker 3 (43:46):
Again, if I'm buying one of these guys, I'm buying
Trevor Sidon.

Speaker 1 (43:50):
If I saw case Keenum Jersey, I'd be like, why
didn't you buy that?

Speaker 2 (43:53):
What's the more acceptable? Three?

Speaker 3 (43:55):
Drew Locker Russell Wilson, Um, God, oh, no good, you
gotta pick one, probably lock.

Speaker 1 (44:07):
Honestly, kiss Mary. What I can't believe we left Joe
Flacco out of this conversation is you're not.

Speaker 2 (44:17):
Buying that jersey? Are you okay?

Speaker 3 (44:19):
Which one induces the most rage? It's either Flacco or Wilson.
You were getting angry about one.

Speaker 1 (44:25):
Of It's rouss. Yeah, I wasn't that mad about Flacco.
That was that was our first year together.

Speaker 2 (44:31):
Oh, I'm so hoping Flaco. You're like, this is gonna
be it. You were a Flacco standing over here, going,
this guy's gone. They're gonna be fine. He knows how
to run the West Coast. And then that dumb Chiefs
game came. He couldn't even run away. They lost to
Matt Moore.

Speaker 1 (44:47):
I't believe been laughed and wanted to leave the booth
by the third quarter. Saw a guy in a Mark
Sanchez jersey today, One amazing one of them is out there.

Speaker 3 (44:57):
We Timper kept to you, we do mister Sanchez wearing jersey.

Speaker 2 (45:02):
Guys, mister Sanchez, You'll be a real managenius commercial anytime.
