Speaker 1 (00:00):
We're about to hit you with the five biggest stories
of the day from around the NFL. Well, here's a
pretty big one. Altitude Sports Radio ninety two to five
is Denver's new home for Westwood Ones coverage of the
National Football League. That's right beginning with Week one of
the upcoming regular season. The extensive package andy of nationally

(00:23):
broadcast games, Sunday Night Football, Monday Night Football, Thursday Night Football,
International games, Thanksgiving, Christmas Playoffs, super Bowl sixty will be
heard right here on these airwaves. Altitude Sports Radio ninety
two to five. You wont football. Altitude Sports Radio ninety
two five is where you get football. It's time for

(00:46):
football news right now, and we do the high five
here on the Craigman and Lindall Show. And today we're
very excited to have it all teed up by the
great Alan Baca, first time on the board on the show.
By the way, yeah to Baka board here his maiden
voyage on the airstream.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
K and L. Let's do that.

Speaker 3 (01:08):
They threw me into the deep water last week with
d MAC and the guys. So all right, yes, that's
all downhill from there.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
Much shallower waters, let me tell you.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
All right, gentlemen. The first story. Trey Hendrickson from the
Bengals officially ended his holdout Wednesday and was an active
spectator during the morning's practice. Hendrickson indicated he still doesn't
plan on participating until he receives a contract extension, but
until that happens, he wants to be in the background
as much as possible. He doesn't want to be a distraction.

(01:38):
I question to you guys, who gets paid first? He
or Zach Allen.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
Okay, first off, he's doing this so he doesn't get fine.

Speaker 4 (01:44):
Right, this is the new thing. Yeah, yeah, that guy's
to show up, but that doesn't mean they have to
go through team period.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
Yes, so Hendrickson apparently he was an active spectator wearing
all black Bengals attire, stood near the d line for
the bulk of the day, gave tips to the younger
guys observed from the sideline during team drills. Indicated he
still doesn't plan on participating until he receives a contract extension,
but until that happens, he wants to be in the
background as much as possible. It's an interesting question that

(02:13):
Baca asks right there, who gets paid first? Him or
Zach Allen. My my guess is it will be Hendrickson
only because like it's either that or they don't have him.
Zach Allen's gonna play no matter what he's not holding in.

(02:34):
There is less urgency to get the Zach Allen deal
done right now the Bengals, Like as much as I
ripped the Bengals, at some point, Andy like common sense
does have to walk in the door and go, You're
in a super Bowl window because you have Joe Burrow, Like,
what are you doing? Stop messing around with this crap.
You've got to get it done.

Speaker 5 (02:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:54):
The only thing I wonder about, though, is when it
comes to Benito. Now I don't think Benito is maybe
pushing it as much, but I do wonder if Benito
and Alan are both practicing because they know progress is
being made, sure, whereas Hendrickson is just kind of there.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
That's a big risk though it is to be practiced.
I don't disagree with progress being made, but and they're
both both under contract.

Speaker 4 (03:21):
They are, but so's look. I I just think Hedrick,
you're right. Did you find it interesting that you know,
we finally got kind of the sitout from Courtland Sutton
and then the contract was done, you know what I mean,
like he was he was kind of going through stuff.
I guess I just felt like he finally started missing

(03:43):
periods right as they were about to get this thing done.
So I don't know if he did that to push
that over and therefore would we see the same move
out of either Alan or Benito.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
So Hendrickson is at thirty five sacks over the last
two years. He has four double digit sack seasons in
his career, including his last year there in New Orleans
playing for Sean Payton back in twenty twenty. Like again,
and I don't want to turn it into like who
deserves to get paid more, but like I do think
the Broncos earn a little bit of a weight and

(04:12):
see period with Nick Benito, and the weird thing about
Sean Payton making comments about fewer reps for Nick Benito
kind of makes me scratch my head because you remember,
like what Vic Fangio used to say about von Miller
of just like I wish I could put him on
the field for every single play like things like that.
You don't usually view your blue chip pass rush prospects
and look at them and say, well, how do I

(04:33):
get fewer snaps out of this guy. How do I
limit the pitch count out of this dude?

Speaker 4 (04:36):
Yeah? You know, I still think Benito gets paid. I
would say this was Zach Allen from some of the
depth we've seen. He's still their best player. Yeah, but
is he at more risk of losing his job than
a Trey Hendrickson. They don't have anybody else to replaces.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
Trey hendricks They really don't.

Speaker 4 (04:52):
They could at least attempt to try to try to
replace Zach Allen.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
Yeah, Zach Allen so the same.

Speaker 4 (04:57):
Don't get me wrong, but I will.

Speaker 1 (04:59):
Stay with I believe Hendrickson gets paid first, if only
because of organizational urgency that I don't think exists on
the same scale with Zach Allen here in Denver.

Speaker 2 (05:10):
Go ahead, Allen, Fine, all right, guys.

Speaker 3 (05:12):
This next audio is Mike Florio on The Rich Isiland
Show talking about the Broncos and if he views them
as contenders.

Speaker 5 (05:22):
Yes, the Broncos are legit. The AFC West is scary.
It's the best collection of coaching talent top to bottom
that any division has ever had, team by team, four
teams this division, the four coaches, the talent they have,
The Raiders the poor Raiders.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
If they were in any.

Speaker 5 (05:36):
Other division, they'd maybe be a wildcard contender. But the Broncos,
the Chargers, the Chiefs. I think the Broncos are legitimate.
The defense is better than it was last year. They
didn't lose Vance Joseph to a head coaching job, which
allows Sean Payton to and trust that side of the
ball to him. The offense is going to be better.
They signed Courtland Sutton, They've got JK. Dobbins, who went healthy,
is as good as any running back in the NFL.

Speaker 4 (05:54):
They've added R. J. Harvey.

Speaker 5 (05:55):
I mean, they are feeling good, quietly, confidently, good about
what they've got going into the season, and they could
start things up with the Kansas City Chiefs when it's
time to play the game.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
Andy, I'm already on record. I picked the Broncos to
win the AFC West. And I do so because and
I did this weeks ago, prior to training camp, simply
because I think the Broncos defense is the best positional
unit or side of the ball unit in the entire division,
and that is enough to win the AFC West. I

(06:26):
think the Broncos defense is that good since I've watched
that group practice. I'm only like liking them more on
a daily basis with how freaking good they are. If
you can win the AFC West, you are a contender
if you get the right playoff matchups. I don't know
if this is a super Bowl team yet, but I'm
not ruling out a trip to the AFC Championship Game.

(06:47):
I love this Bronco defense.

Speaker 4 (06:48):
I love the Bronco defense too. I just there is
something that makes me nervous about giving Kansas City the
free pass from pressure because everybody, again, we get bored
with greatness. Therefore we're bored with talking about the Kansas
City chick. Sure, and now they going to just go
about their business quietly for the first time in a
few years. So I don't know what that's building up. Look,
I don't count the Broncos chances out of it. I

(07:10):
do think this division is gonna beat up on each other.

Speaker 2 (07:13):
I think so too, And I don't think the Broncos
have to.

Speaker 4 (07:15):
Win the division to find their way to the super
Bowl either. You know, I think you can do it
as a wild card. So I've got to see the
Kansas City really is not engaged before I'm ready to
pick against them all. I hate being that guy.

Speaker 2 (07:28):
I don't.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
When I say this, it is no denigration of the Chiefs.
So I also think are absolutely a contender. I think
the Chargers are contenders as well. But I just think
the Broncos defense is that special. It's the best we've
seen here since twenty fifteen. It's arguably the best in
the entire NFL right now. That's why I like this group.
Love that secondary. Love love love that secondary. When you
have a player's good as Jade Baron and you can

(07:50):
just kind of slowly bring him along, it's it's pretty good. Also,
that dude is a freak of an athlete. He is
fun to Oh they're playing him everywhere, Yeah, they sure are.
He's not a big dude, No, but he's a smart football.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
Player and my god, can he fly around paka.

Speaker 4 (08:05):
That's five, all.

Speaker 2 (08:06):
Right, guys.

Speaker 3 (08:07):
My kids are getting to the age where they don't
always want me and my wife going everywhere with them,
right and doing everything with them. And somebody else that
is facing that issue is coach Prime. Is him talking
about why he didn't go to Cleveland Brown's training camp
to go see Shador.

Speaker 6 (08:22):
He didn't want me to come. He's like that I
may get three full reps of practice. I don't want
you to see it, man, like, come, no, no, I'm not.

Speaker 7 (08:30):
Where I need to be.

Speaker 6 (08:30):
Let me get where I need to be. And it's
so funny because this is the first time man ever
and he's dealing with it like a pro, like like
he ain't mad, he ain't did it. He's like, I
got work to do, and I'm gonna put in his work.
One thing they gonna have to let me play. Preseason
gonna come. And when pre season come, watch me work.

(08:51):
I'm like, I already know what you're gonna do. It
ain't worded by Dad, I know, but he didn't want
me to come.

Speaker 1 (08:57):
That's smart on the part of Shadoor Sanders because he
is already a spectacle dion showing up there and overshadowing
the entire operation in Cleveland, because Deon overshadows everything in
every room that he walks into. That'd be a bad
look for shad Or Sanders.

Speaker 4 (09:12):
Well, and we talk about it never is the Cleveland
brown well since uh since the massage stuff. Never has
the on field battle of the Cleveland Browns quarterback room
and talked about so much that I can remember every
day there's an update on it on get up before
I head to training camp. Yeah, and all they can
keep talking about is the fact that Shador is not
getting any reps with the ones at all, and how

(09:35):
that's a little bit of a problem. They don't know
how he's gonna make any impression to get this starting job.
It's gonna be tough without getting any number one reps.

Speaker 1 (09:42):
I really think Chador, if he's gonna start games this year,
it's gonna be because the other guys in the room
help him out by being garbage.

Speaker 4 (09:51):
Well, no, I would agree, but you know, Joe Flacco
can go one of two ways. He showed up there
in Cleveland a couple of years ago, became like close
to Pro Bowl Joe flaccoig and they actually went somewhere.
Or Joe Flacco can show you in the first five
games this was a massive mistake and you shouldn't have
done this. But look, I think it's smart. You don't
need your dad around right now. Don't need your dad
around right now.

Speaker 1 (10:12):
Yeah, the less spectacle you can have, the better it's
going to be for you in the locker room and
with the team. And finally, BAKA, all right.

Speaker 3 (10:19):
You guys mentioned Jad de Baron earlier. Here is a
Ryla Moss talking about him today after practice.

Speaker 8 (10:24):
Yeah, I mean he's smart. He's came in, you know,
in the training room in terms of like recovery stuff.
He knows what to do. He's gotten a routine, which
is kind of the biggest leiriuing curve. Obviously when you
come into the NFL, is you have so much time?
How are you going to spend that time? And he's
he's spent that time well, I think rehabbing and stuff
like that, and also just picking up the defense. I think,
you know, he's smart and he understands, you know, where

(10:44):
his help is at, and you know that's that's nice
to having them out there. You know you can trust
him and you know it helps all of us.

Speaker 7 (10:50):
Well.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
Yeah, if there's gonna be a sports science and recovery
department in the football world, it's as good as the
Denver Broncos, it's the Texas Longhorns. I'm pretty sure he
knows how to use all the equipt Yeah.

Speaker 4 (11:01):
And look, man, yeah, it's just but you talked about it.
There's just another a little piece of good news about
your guy. John ay Baron are you worried about where
he plays.

Speaker 1 (11:10):
No, No, I want to kind of see him play
all over the place. I think he's just really good.
I think he's gonna uh quite honestly, I think this
this is a defense right now that like in nickel
situations and dime situations, they could throw five corners on
the field.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
Sometimes, well they could.

Speaker 4 (11:27):
It's just I feel like every time I do the
update with d mac, he wants to know what was
he playing outside yet? And I'm not sure he's gonna
play outside of it. No, I think Riley Moss is
Riley Moss. Yes, I think I think John A.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
Barron is a nickel corner to start his NFL career.
And I don't think that's a bad thing because I
think Riley Moss is a really good football player.

Speaker 4 (11:44):
I think McMillan's still gonna play.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (11:46):
I mean, look, they've got a lot of depth in
that secondary. Sure new saw what happened when they didn't
have that kind of depth.

Speaker 1 (11:52):
Bary is gonna line up in safety corner hybrid situations.
I think there's gonna be times where he's gonna play
closer to the line of scrimmage.

Speaker 2 (11:59):
I just think he's that good of a player.

Speaker 4 (12:00):
Yeah, and he knows how to tackle guys.

Speaker 2 (12:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (12:02):
And he's a smart football player.

Speaker 2 (12:05):
Yeah. I think he has got all of that.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
Florio not the only national pundit that is high on
the Broncos and their Super Bowl chances. There's another one
that talked to Sean Payton this week that has some
lofty praise for what the Broncos and bo Nicks are
trying to do this season. We'll play that audio for
you next as our training camp coverage on Altitude Sports

(12:29):
Radio is powered by Ramos Law, the official injury law
firm partner of Broncos Country.

Speaker 2 (12:35):
All right, it is the Craigna Lindall Show.

Speaker 1 (12:37):
It's a Wednesday afternoon, and we are rolling because we
are Denver's new home for Westwood Once coverage of the
National Football League here on Altitude Sports Radio. Damn right,
that's right, beginning with Week one of the upcoming regular season,
the extensive package of nationally broadcast games in the NFL
you will hear right here on Altitude Sports Radio. Sunday

(12:58):
Night Football, Monday Night Football, Thursday Night Football, Thanksgiving, Christmas,
all that right here on Altitude Sports Radio ninety two
to five you're looking for the NFL, this is the
place where you are going to get it. Andy update
from Cleveland Guardian's two rocks nothing.

Speaker 4 (13:19):
Yeah, all the four score bug, I don't know how
it's all gone down.

Speaker 1 (13:23):
David fry to run bomb off of Kyle Freeland, don't
call him Kevin Freeland in the top or excuse me,
the bottom half of the first two to nothing.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
Game here in the early going. Uh.

Speaker 1 (13:35):
Warming Bernabelle update. He is zero for one thus far today.
The batting average has plummeted to three seventy five. But
that ops. Andy still had a robust twelve eighty seven warming.
Bernabelle was two for four last night. Yeah, still rolling
U late double one oh four off the bat Warming

(13:56):
Bernabelle Fever. Yeah, he had a little bit of a
rough base running moment, but defensively has been quite good
over there.

Speaker 2 (14:03):
At first base.

Speaker 1 (14:04):
I have not been this all in on a rocky
I feel like since a young Troy to Lwitzky Warming
Bernabelle Fever, Well.

Speaker 4 (14:13):
That I'm glad to hear that. Good for you, but.

Speaker 2 (14:17):
I need something.

Speaker 4 (14:18):
Kyle Freelan, Yeah, you you you're talking to teams about him?

Speaker 2 (14:23):
Is anybody calling about him? I'm not trying to be
a jerk serious.

Speaker 4 (14:31):
And jerk about things I don't know, but yeah, I
know if you're looking for a starter, starting pitcher, especially
if you need someone like fourth or fifth spot, he'd
be the guy with There's listen, I bring up some
of these guys like, I'm happy for Ryan McMahon. I'm
glad you could go play some important baseball Tyler. Yeah,
Tyler Kinley got traded today. What do you think about Halverson?
Do you think they give up Seth Halverson? He should well, yeah,

(14:53):
there's a lot of should will they.

Speaker 2 (14:55):
No, No, they'll overvalue him and not move him.

Speaker 1 (14:59):
U Rocky's got a guy Austin Smith, and he's a
he's an Army's The good news is on Austin Smith,
he's a post Tommy John guy. So at least you
have that going for you if there's going to be
improvement in his career right now, he's at the stage
of his baseball life where that would happen. So the
Rockies I think are kind of banking on that. Tyler

(15:20):
Kinley goes off to Atlanta. I initially, by the way,
when I saw that, I was like, why the hell's Atlanta?
On Tyler Kinley. They're like sixteen games under right now,
he's got a club option for next year. I think
the Braves look at it and say, Okay, we had
bad injury luck this year. We plan to be able
to compete next year. They could pay Tyler Kinley five
million bucks and have a good bullpen guy, so they're

(15:41):
going to evaluate him the rest of this year. In
the meantime, they gave up an arm that I don't
think they had a place for.

Speaker 4 (15:45):
I have to laugh though, because he will get better.
But man, every time he came in, I'm like, have
we done this?

Speaker 2 (15:51):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (15:52):
Well he he would. He was the guy that could
blow the biggest lead.

Speaker 1 (15:57):
Sure.

Speaker 4 (15:57):
It was like, no lead is safe when he comes
into the game. So we'll see, we'll see if anything
else happens. Here's the thing, though, is like even the
prospect today. I know the two they got last week
when we talked to Tyler mand not real sure what
they'll profile as he thought one would be. I think
the writy he thought would be a closer. One's a starter.
One's a reliever, yeah, or a reliever, thank you. But again,

(16:18):
they're both in Hia ball. A lot of way to
go before we can figure out.

Speaker 5 (16:21):
What that is.

Speaker 4 (16:21):
But what about this kid today, he's a reliever. At
what point do you get like the sassy, exciting position.

Speaker 1 (16:30):
Just they need when they get somebody good to trade. Seriously, okay,
so do you shop Tovar? If anybody called, you should
be listening to anything right now. If somebody is offering
you a legitimate top five prospect in their system along
with other pieces for Ezekiel Tovar, they should be listening.

(16:52):
The Rocky shouldn't be hanging up on anything right now.
But again, we heard the report from Buster only yesterday.
They're already overvaluing their own pieces, right.

Speaker 4 (17:00):
And you'd brought up Charlie Conyon yesterday that quick note,
and didn't you mention he's is he a third baseman Conon?
Isn't that what's supposed in that word? I mean again,
if you keep Tovar around, isn't that what Ethan Holliday
is gonna play?

Speaker 1 (17:14):
I think Conon can play outfield. Okay, yeah, I think
you're okay there. I think Conan can play outfield as well,
So they'll find a place for him. But it's okay
because warming Bernabelle is going to win multiple MVP awards
and we're all going to be just fine again. Oh yes,
over twelve hundred, right, it becomes scorching at some point,
scorching burn of bell got a case of the scorching

(17:37):
Bernabells right now.

Speaker 4 (17:41):
I think they got a cream for that. But you
gotta go talk to your deck.

Speaker 1 (17:44):
It's it's prescription, that's not over the counter, not not
the scorging Bernabells.

Speaker 4 (17:48):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (17:50):
So Diana Rossini, Yeah, no.

Speaker 4 (17:54):
Gold bond powder.

Speaker 1 (17:56):
Awkward radio transition, Diana Reini. I we saw her out
there this week. Her is she and Chase Daniel?

Speaker 4 (18:03):
Yeah, Chase Daniel about access?

Speaker 2 (18:06):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (18:07):
Good god.

Speaker 1 (18:07):
He was like in the huddle, he's he's the new
Jake Laser. I think he was calling plays him and
Sean are broke.

Speaker 4 (18:14):
About Glazier running the running the weight room today?

Speaker 2 (18:18):
Was that what he was doing?

Speaker 4 (18:20):
He posted a bunch of videos. I don't think I
follow weight room, and of course Demac had to bring
it up. I was, aren't you mad because you got
busted showering there, which she admitted, Yes, he is. Anyway,
Diana Russini, So she was here this week hanging out.

Speaker 1 (18:38):
And Diana Rossini is a good reporter, good access merchant,
like she she knows how to say the things that
is going to keep Sean Payton texting her. Okay, Like
that's what a good NFL reporter does. And this is
the time of year where you can say almost anything
and it's not gonna get held to you. But I
still want to play this audio because I don't think
it's totally out of bounds. Diana Rossini talking to Rich

(19:00):
Eieson Today about how good these Broncos can be and
how bo Nicks is looking here going into year two.

Speaker 9 (19:07):
And I gotta tell you, they are not afraid to
talk super Bowl. You know, sometimes you go to these teams,
it's like, oh, we gotta, we gotta just focus on today,
you know, like we got to make sure we get
our lunch in and then you know, we get through
this walkthrough, like this team's like, we're gonna we want,
we want the super Bowl, which tells me that they've
got the confidence because they're seeing it.

Speaker 2 (19:27):
Yeah, they're talking super Bowl right now.

Speaker 4 (19:30):
Yes, and they're not afraid to talk about it. They're
not afraid to discuss it. We heard it with Sean
the very first day last week. Yeah, at the podium.
He said, this is great because it means that you've
done something right. He's he said, he'll take it a
lot more than when he first got here and people
were laughing about any expectations you tried to roll out
there also.

Speaker 1 (19:49):
To her point of like they were one day at
a time, all that blah blah blah. Having the Chiefs
kind of blown that up. The last couple of years,
the Chiefs have just been like, we'll talk about going
to three super Bowls in a row, We'll talk about
trying to win three super Bowls in a row. And
guess what that hasn't affected the Chiefs negatively in the
slightest bit. That's the expectation. That's the standard that they
put up there. Like Andy Reid and Mahomes and Kelsey

(20:12):
and Chris Jones. They embrace all of that. Isn't that
a new model of the NFL of like manifest it
and then go and get it. You don't just have
to be footbally cliche guy, because we all know you're
freaking lying when you say stuff like that, Like Sean
Payton was in the media, Andy, he gets it, like
he knows. I love the way that he talked about

(20:33):
Courtland Sutton Earlier this week, he talked about Courtland Sutton
like a guy that actually understands the business of the NFL. Again,
he just didn't sound like grunty old football coach, Like,
haven't we reached a point in the dialogue of it
all that it's a giant waste of time to try
and belichick your way through everything.

Speaker 4 (20:54):
Yeah, look, I like some give and take, I like
some cuts worth playing. That's for sure that you talk
about belichick your way through everything. So here's what I
think is kind of interesting though. So this was something
spring and sent over beginning of the week with you
off last week and the Tennessee Titans were asked at there,
you know, their GM, and it was like they're GM
and assistant GM. The coach wasn't there. Callahan was obviously

(21:15):
off run and practice. But they were asked, is this
a super Bowl winning team here right now? And they
both like one guy kind of chuckled. The other guy
tried to answer it, but he goes, you know, he goes, look,
we're hoping to be there. Didn't say no, but it said,
we know there's some work we got to do to
our roster, to me to me. I think the reason

(21:37):
why the Broncos aren't afraid to talk about it is
because they do believe it. And I do think when
you get the hesitation that you're kind of referring to
to talk about it is deep down they know that
they are not ready, right, did we I'm trying to remember.
Did Hackett give us a lot of Super Bowl talk
his only year year? Now, I got it blocked so

(22:02):
much out of my memory. I mean, he he freaked
out about getting Russ like that was his big thing,
was freaking out about all of that. And I think
he talked about playoff expectations and everything else like that.
But also, like Nathaniel hack was a nincom poop. There
was no reason to listen to anything that.

Speaker 8 (22:20):
No.

Speaker 2 (22:20):
No, I know, like Sean Payton actually comes with credibility.

Speaker 4 (22:24):
Well he does, but even even Vic.

Speaker 2 (22:31):
Fangio would never go there.

Speaker 5 (22:32):
He was.

Speaker 1 (22:32):
He was what she was talking about. I just want
to get through lunch and the walk through right exactly. Yeah,
Fangio was. He was football guy. Like I think a
year first off, Sean Payton is extremely media savvy. I
think a year in the media also did him some
good to step out from it. All, and also like
I do think that John Peyton is and I don't

(22:55):
think this is a bad thing an extremely arrogant person.

Speaker 2 (22:59):
I don't think it's a bad way to be. Number one,
he's got the resume for it.

Speaker 1 (23:03):
And number two, like, I think the guy's feed off
of that stuff, because I don't think he's arrogant without
the accomplishment behind him.

Speaker 2 (23:11):
That's why there's the buy in.

Speaker 4 (23:13):
Well, to your point, what happened the first year? You know,
the first year he was arrogant about the fact that
the team sucks well, that the other guy couldn't coach
his way out of a wet paper bag exactly, but
he didn't you know, he did say what did he say?
If they didn't win eight nine games, he'd be upset.

Speaker 2 (23:28):
Right, remember that?

Speaker 4 (23:29):
Yeah, and then they end up ultimately doing just about
that with Russ think they were eight to nine nights
something like that. Yeah, So he got to his usual mark,
and then last year it was more. Last year he
was not afraid to go Yeah, we got a long
way to go. But I'm just gonna go ahead and
tell you up front, I'm already happier than I was
here ago because we've flipped the quarterback. Now we have

(23:50):
a Texter kind of complaining on the text line saying,
nobody believes that they could that their contenders. Yet I
do think the team believes that they're contender.

Speaker 2 (24:01):
That defense believes and.

Speaker 4 (24:02):
I think when Sean talks about the fact that free
agency did this yesterday, free agents do choose his team, right,
that says that you're at least in the conversation.

Speaker 2 (24:11):
Now, Look, they love their quarterback. They do. They love
him more than most people do. I get all of that.
When I say most people, I say.

Speaker 4 (24:19):
People outside of the national media.

Speaker 1 (24:21):
Exactly, people outside of Denver fans and media outside of Denver.
Like you know, bo Nix is rated essentially as the
middle of the pack NFL quarterback the Broncos, and I
would say, right now, that's probably the fair place to
rate him, But the Broncos view him as something above that.
There's a projection here on Denver of what Nicks is
going to be when it comes to the defense. I

(24:42):
don't think it's projection. Listen to Diana Rossini on the
Rich Eisen Show talking about the Denver defense and how good.

Speaker 2 (24:49):
This group can be.

Speaker 9 (24:50):
And as much as I talk about how great bow
is and I was there when Courtland Sutton got his deal.
That front five on defense they are monsters and actually
and obviously the reigning defensive player of the Year in
Patrick Startan.

Speaker 1 (25:06):
Yeah, front five pretty damn good. I mean you look
at the at the three upfront and the two outside
guys in Cooper and Benito.

Speaker 2 (25:13):
I mean, DJ Jones is like Andy.

Speaker 1 (25:18):
I know we're going to talk a lot about Courtland Sutton.
We talked about bringing in green Law and Hufonga. Retaining
the services of DJ Jones might be the most important
thing they did this offense.

Speaker 4 (25:28):
No doubt about it, because he's a beast in the
middle of that line. You still got Zach Allen right there. Again.
We saw what Malcolm Roach can bring in. That's kind
of more of a role player. I'm excited to see
John Franklin Myers get going again. But DJ Jones is
he's kind of the I'm trying to think who this
guy would be on offense, but he's kind of the
heartbeat guy that just kind of showed up here and

(25:49):
has been doing it, you know what I mean. He
show up with Zach Allen. Were they the same class?

Speaker 2 (25:53):
DJ was here a year before that because he was
on a three year deal.

Speaker 4 (25:57):
Yeah, I think you're right. I think you're right, but DJ,
and you know it, you are right because Zach came
with VJ Right.

Speaker 1 (26:05):
So DJ Jones has just been like again, he's one
of the best interior defensive linemen in the game. And
you when you find those guys, you hang on to
them like grim death. And DJ Jones is a guy
that if he would have walked out the door, that
would have been a physically and metaphorical large hole for
them to fill.

Speaker 4 (26:25):
Well, and that comment's important again, it's not just us
talking about this. Every show that you watch mentions the
Denver defense. Okay, they should, they know that this thing
should again health health health, health, health health. If they've
got it, you're dealing with one of the toughest defenses
to do anything against. And that a loans why they
could be a Super Bowl contender. Like again, with all

(26:48):
due respect everybody on that offense back in twenty fifteen,
that could be a tough deal to watch and we
all know it. If this defense and I'm not sure
they're there yet, but let's say they do get to
the point where they're at least close to the level
of the twenty fifteen defense, and I think that's the
best defense in Denver history.

Speaker 2 (27:07):
Started.

Speaker 4 (27:08):
It's hard for me to say that you're gonna be
there until we can see it.

Speaker 2 (27:11):
I don't even think that's a debatable point, by the way,
But if.

Speaker 4 (27:14):
They get close to that, if this team can get
close to that, don't tell me this offense can't be
better than what we watched in twenty fifteen, right.

Speaker 1 (27:23):
Right, it should be because that was Manning on his
last legs. That was an offensive line that was they
were constantly, yeah, moving guys around constantly like this. This
offensive line, should it remain healthy, is one of the
best in the NFL. That alone, along with Nicks not

(27:48):
taking negative play, is the emergence of Marvin Mims, the
consistency of Courtland Sutton, and maybe a real life run
game with RJ. Harvey and JK. Dobbins, Like I think
they've got a chains. I don't think this is gonna
be a top five offense in the NFL. I don't
think they're gonna be putting up thirty three points a game.
I don't think they're gonna look like Baltimore, Buffalo or

(28:09):
Detroit or something like that, but I don't think they need.

Speaker 4 (28:12):
To better say it won't be required at don't think.

Speaker 1 (28:15):
If you have a defense that has only given up sixteen,
seventeen eighteen points a game, which I think was right
where they were at last year, you score them in twenties.

Speaker 4 (28:24):
Yeah, you get twenty six peros, twelve win team. You're
in good shape.

Speaker 2 (28:27):
Yeah, your twelve win team just by doing that.

Speaker 1 (28:31):
The love of God, don't go back to sixteen. Please
don't ever score sixteen points. Bronco training camp coverage on
Altitude Sports Radio is powered by Ramo's Law, the official
injury law firm partner of Broncos Country. Many assorted news
and notes to get to, including a Nicola Jokic Stan

(28:51):
is in some hot water. We'll tell you what we're
talking about next on alta Dude Sports Radio ninety two
to five. We've been telling you all day, but we
had the exciting announcement this morning that Altitude Sports Radio
ninety two to five is now the home for Westwood
Ones coverage of the NFL. That's right, you hear it
right here on Altitude Sports Radio ninety two to five,

(29:11):
starting with week one, the Sunday night games, the Monday
night games, the Thursday night games. You're gonna get them
all right here on Altitude Sports Radio ninety two five.

Speaker 2 (29:20):
This is the spot you league for football.

Speaker 4 (29:26):
We got it.

Speaker 1 (29:27):
You think Altitude, We've got you cover. We're gonna do
a ton of college stuff as well. We're gonna do
the high school football. So it's all gonna be happening.
Three to nothing Guardians right now, bottom half of the
fifth Andy. By the way, fun story from last night,
as Baltimore traded Sir Anthony Dominguez to the Blue Jays

(29:49):
in the middle of a doubleheader, he got to walk
across to the other clubhouse and then he pitched against
the Orioles in the nightcap, and even those team lost,
he threw a scoreless inning. Fun weird story. I love
the baseball to the dead line.

Speaker 4 (30:05):
I kind of felt bad for the guy. Man, that's
super weird. It's all of a sudden you're in the
other team's uniform and what was just an hour ago
your own park.

Speaker 1 (30:15):
Yeah, but now he gets to be like, I'm the
best team at baseball. Like it kind of works out
for him, right. It's again an odd story, but hey,
he doesn't have to be on the Orioles anymore kind
of works out for him. Rockies, by the way, they
did trade Tyler Kinley for Austin Smith for system arm
Austin Smith. I don't know they're doing something, so way

(30:36):
to go gets.

Speaker 4 (30:36):
By the way, somebody did text in let me ask you,
is your Spidey sense going on? In all we talked
about Kyle Freelan. Yeah, and the texture says he went
he got pulled after three innings and only forty pitches. Now,
this score doesn't seem to suggest things got away from them.
Could something be up? You said it was only three

(30:57):
nothing that. I don't how much traffic he had. I
asked it to forty pitches. Forty pitches though, right trafficking.
I mean, this is this is one of your this
is one of your actual professional pitchers.

Speaker 2 (31:07):
Yeah, that's right.

Speaker 4 (31:08):
So it feels like that's a quick outing. I do
want to know something's up, yeah, or it's hurt. Who
knows he's one of the blister guys, right talk about.

Speaker 2 (31:17):
Yeah, he tends to deal with that. Absolutely totally.

Speaker 1 (31:20):
Homerd last night, by the way, Hey, thank god snapped
a one for twenty one streak by hitting a home
run he's a real boomer bust mostly bust, kind of slugger.

Speaker 8 (31:31):
Right do we have here?

Speaker 4 (31:31):
What do we gotta here?

Speaker 1 (31:35):
Illness effects according to Kevin Henry Old Kevin Hank.

Speaker 4 (31:43):
Called Kevin Hank, is he sick about not being dealt yet?

Speaker 1 (31:46):
Kyle Freeling done after three ins for Rockies with what
is being described as illness effects. The South Ball is
attempting to go today after falling sick yesterday.

Speaker 4 (31:57):
You know what's kind of funny ill this effects? Right,
Remember when Trevor's story was so hacked off, they didn't
trade him. He had to take the next game.

Speaker 2 (32:06):
Off, needed a mental health day.

Speaker 4 (32:08):
Mental health day, and he thought for sure he'd be gone.

Speaker 1 (32:11):
Right right, And it was just like, I can't come
to work today. I can't face you people that I
can't deal with this. I can't walk in here one
more time. It's working out for Trevor's story. Things have
gone right for him. So I got a got a
quick NBA story. Andy Gilbert Auranus, Remember Gilbert Uranus, agent

(32:32):
zero loved him, a gun, gun in the locker room,
all that kind of stuff. Yeah, Gilbert Uranus and five
others were arrested today in La According to the Department
of Justice, Arranus has been charged with three felony accounts
for allegedly running in illegal gambling business and hosting high
level poker games at his California home. He is set
to be arraigned in US District Court in Los Angeles.

(32:56):
According to this report from The Athletic Aarrainas ran an
illegal gambling from September twenty twenty one through July of
twenty two. According to an indictment filed by federal prosecutors,
they claim that he hosted games it is Encino, California mansion,
did Paul Shore stop by? Were they weazing, weezing the

(33:16):
Jewze and collected rent through an intermediary, while four others,
including Yevganny Gershman, who the government claims is an Israeli
organized crime member, ran games like pot Limit, Omaha Poker
and more. Gershman, the Israeli mobster Andy also hired young

(33:40):
women to work the games a lot about young women
in the news these days, isn't there serving drinks and massages,
and gave back a portion of their earnings to the
people running the operation. According to federal prosecutors. He is
also being indicted on three counts based on allegations that
he committed marriage fraud. Good luck with all life? What

(34:01):
marriage marriage fraud? What green card thing? I'm assuming is
what they're meaning by that is that's my.

Speaker 4 (34:08):
Yeah, I was stuck for a minute. One assumption was
Deshaun Watson wanted to get down on this thing.

Speaker 2 (34:13):
With the massages. Could have been Deshaun could have been
at those games. We have no idea.

Speaker 1 (34:17):
So yeah, gilsundlike Gilbert Dorrainus, was hosting his own little
miniature freak off poker games at his house and the
Department of Justice didn't like that. So Gilbert Auranus in
a little bit of trouble, which is to me a
little bit of a shame Gilbert Irrainus. He didn't bat
a thousand, but he oftentimes says some pretty smart things

(34:40):
about Nicole Jkic on his podcast. If you recall this,
do you remember Andy and this is going I don't know.
Way back into March, the week before the Nuggets had
the back to back games against Oklahoma City, remember that
down in Okay See. They lost the game on the
Sunday afternoon nationally televised. They come back on the Monday.

(35:02):
Joker goes I think for like thirty five, eighteen and eight,
they get that win. Unbelievable performance. But again, everybody kind
of remembers what happened on national TV the night before that.
But the same weekend that that went down, that Sunday Monday,
that Friday was when Joker put up his thirty one
to twenty one twenty two game against the Suns in

(35:23):
overtime on national television against Durant and the Suns last year.
I don't think we've ever played this clip before. This
is from Gilbert Rainus's podcast from the first week of March,
right before that Phoenix OKCOKC run that the Nuggets were

(35:44):
about to play, And this is Gilbert Rainas talking about
the Jokich SGA MVP race from back in the first
week of March.

Speaker 7 (35:54):
I'll tell you this right now that month over down
in to Denver, there's gonna be a game where it's
a mon this is my trophy. There's gonna be that
there's gonna be a forty twenty and fifteen.

Speaker 4 (36:08):
Talking about.

Speaker 7 (36:11):
Think about him twenty that available, think about having that
available as saying you don't want me to be the MVP,
and I can actually pop out one of them.

Speaker 4 (36:19):
That's the forty two twenty and twenty b A F one. Listen, listen,
he is just like sg A offensively.

Speaker 7 (36:29):
If he wants to score fifty, who is stopping him?
Who is equipped to stop him? If he wanted to
just score the whole time, there's nobody who can actually
guard him. If he wants to score the whole time,
he purposely chooses to sit there.

Speaker 4 (36:45):
And so we may find out this weekend. Nuggets and
thunder me two straight games. So Sunday, Monday, March ninth, March, Hey.

Speaker 7 (36:53):
Listen, Okay, see listen, They're both gonna be trying to
prove a point.

Speaker 4 (36:56):
This might be one of the best matchup there's gonna
be one him and beat versus jokin Well. I thought
it was funny because remember, like he had a fine
game this Sunday, but then didn he the Monday thirty five,
eighteen and eight.

Speaker 1 (37:10):
Yeah, but also when he when he was talking about
the crazy statistical markers, he said that like two days
before the thirty one twenty one twenty two game, which
is and then later nice job by Agent zero Minnesota happened, Yeah,
sixty one ten and ten that you lost because Russell
Wills Wesbretta. Well, well, hey, you know what, Gilbert Arnus

(37:33):
not afraid to gamble with the predictions.

Speaker 2 (37:34):
Andy.

Speaker 4 (37:37):
You know what, how could we always hear about these
illegal poker games? Why doesn't anybody do the bowling? Like
in Kingpin, they go over to the guy's house. He's
got his special lanes. I mean, why not that? Is
that not a real thing too?

Speaker 2 (37:50):
He pretends to be a priest. Yeah, yeah, yeah. They
end up taking what he Harrelson's hand and sticking it
illegal bowl match.

Speaker 4 (38:01):
Why aren't the feds crashing some of that? You know,
you got Bill Murray and the rose ball with the
sweet comb over.

Speaker 1 (38:08):
It's a good point taking snaps from Yeah, there's there's
got to be an illegal pickleball ring.

Speaker 4 (38:15):
Somewhere, right, a Bunco game or whatever that is.

Speaker 2 (38:18):
Somebody that's just gambling too much on.

Speaker 4 (38:20):
That the Bridge club, that the stakes are too high.

Speaker 2 (38:23):
We bet on risk in this house, okay, and it's
high stakes.

Speaker 4 (38:28):
Can you get a massage as you're doing risk? Though?
I mean really, like, now it's a massage.

Speaker 1 (38:34):
Let me alone. I'm focusing on cam cutch it right now, yes,
all right, don't distract me.

Speaker 4 (38:41):
I have to decide whether we're gonna advance, remove your
hands from my shoulders.

Speaker 1 (38:46):
I think it's the uh, it's the Israeli mafia. I
think is when you when you couple that with the
massages and the poker that's.

Speaker 4 (39:00):
Getting a massage trivial pursuit, your concentration's unbroken.

Speaker 1 (39:05):
Okay, little pictionary. So I would say, I can I
can focus in a massage, and I'll tell you why.

Speaker 5 (39:15):
I was.

Speaker 1 (39:16):
I was at a spa one time in southern California. Okay,
I was in La. I was getting great massage. Okay, Okay.

Speaker 2 (39:26):
However it was in a small enclosed room. Andy.

Speaker 1 (39:31):
I was in LA, meaning that I was on a
strictly burrito based diet. And I'm just like and I
know they're professional and they understand that with relaxation comes
bodily function.

Speaker 2 (39:48):
You can get a little no, not not that I.

Speaker 4 (39:52):
Was trying to hold the burrito part.

Speaker 2 (39:54):
I was trying to hold in.

Speaker 1 (39:58):
I didn't want to just destroy this poor woman in
a smaller hand.

Speaker 4 (40:03):
You have any ants enclosed room, I guess it'd be Gretel.

Speaker 2 (40:07):
It was Andy.

Speaker 1 (40:08):
It was one of the it was one of the
best massages. I've ever had in my life, like in
terms of like technique and everything else like that. It
was one of the longest and most difficult hours of
my life. I think I got up and I was
like sweat trickling down my brow because I was trying
to respect this poor woman and her professionalism of just
trying to hold in farts the whole time.

Speaker 4 (40:30):
That would have been like the tuba right right. It
wouldn't have been the trumpets. It would have been it
would have been a loud, blaring, marching band tuba.

Speaker 2 (40:37):
It was gonna be bad.

Speaker 1 (40:38):
And so based on that, I bet you I could
win a game of Connect four during a massage.

Speaker 2 (40:43):
I think I could do it. Not connect fart, that's
somebody says.

Speaker 4 (40:50):
Imagine yelling Uno as the agients break down the door.

Speaker 7 (40:54):
No, no.

Speaker 2 (40:57):
Reverse skip you.

Speaker 4 (41:02):
Go fish. I mean this game of old maid.

Speaker 2 (41:06):
A world class UNO player can't wreck me.

Speaker 4 (41:10):
I still won.

Speaker 1 (41:13):
It will destroy your on this hand of Uno. What
that's why we're the fens busted and they're just like lean.

Speaker 4 (41:23):
Alone uzzies, cash.

Speaker 2 (41:29):
Rimmage, cutting up some white powder with a red seven.

Speaker 4 (41:33):
What if you yell yatzi right? Is a breakdown the door?

Speaker 1 (41:36):
Yati that's gonna do it for the Craig and the
Lindahl show. Here this afternoon. We're back tomorrow three o'clock.
Alan Baka will be back on the board as well.

Speaker 2 (41:46):
We look forward to that.

Speaker 4 (41:47):
See we can get him talk tomorrow.

Speaker 1 (41:49):
We'll find out. Let's uh thanks again by the way
to Nick Cosmier. He was on the show and he
was terrific. The Odd Couple is next.

Speaker 2 (41:56):
Have a great night. Everybody will see him
