Speaker 1 (00:03):

there with the Scot Friday theme song. He and his band,
Less Than Jake will be playing Saturday Night at the
Fillmore Auditorium Saturday August ninth, that's a week from this Saturday.
Less than Jake, along with Scott Legends, Fishbone Detroit's owned

the Suicide Machines as well as cat Bite, one of
the newer SKA bands out there. But Less Than Jake's
going to be playing the show the Filmore Auditorium. We
have five pairs of tickets to give away to that show.
You know what day on the Craigman Lindall Show.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
We've got plenty.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
Yes, we're not lacking.
Speaker 2 (00:45):
We may even do more than five.
Speaker 1 (00:46):
Okay, all right, Executive decisions being made on the other
side of the table. I like it. So yeah, we
got Less than Jake ticks.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
Somebody won't be here to make an executive decision.
Speaker 1 (00:55):
Later on, we will tell you how you can win
those tickets today coming up at four forty five on
the Correkman and Lindahl Show. So if you want Less
than Jake tickets. This is the place to listen as
they'll be headlining the Fillmore Auditorium. Andy long day out
there at Broncos. You and I we put in We
(01:15):
put in the ot out there on the grass at
Dove Valley today. By the way, we I will say this,
neither of us attended the what was it the topping
off ceremonial.
Speaker 2 (01:27):
No, we didn't. It was pretty dang early.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
I did. I didn't make it to that.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
I think I was still trying to get ready for
the shower at that point.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
But we watched football practice. Then we listened to Sean
Payton give.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
His state of football.
Speaker 1 (01:42):
It was yeah, he basically played tweezer today during his
press conference. It went thirty three minutes. I believe was
the official clock on that there today, So that was
quite impressive. Sean wrapped up. We got to hear from
Julia McLoughlin, got to hear from Malcolm Roast today.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
Malcome Roach may have to interview him.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
He's entertaining. And then we we we waited. We interviewed
Alex paul Chesky. That was fun today. But we were
out there for quite some time. We didn't leave Broncos
today until two o'clock two fifteen.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
To be exactly. Yeah, we got to our cars.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
And and we have a three o'clock radio show, so
our our day was a little bit uh scrunched when
it came to the pre show, prep time, downtime, whatever
you want to call it.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
What'd you get for lunch? Because I gotta tell you, yeah,
I discovered something. We'll play off one of Sean's answers.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
Okay, I went, Uh, I went the roast beef and
provolon at Snarf's today.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
Oh, there you go.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
I went Snarf's today, which which I love.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
I will say, in this tech center area that we're at,
there's snarf, there's slotskis, there's there's just all sorts of
good sandwich you can.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
If you can dream up any fast casual establishment, we
have it within three miles of this radio station.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
So I don't know what my view was. I guess
I sat in the car and tested some things out
with the mic. We're trying to get this, we're trying
to get this Pulchesky interview where we want it.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
By we, we mean Andy, Andy. But you know what
I was thinking.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
I was thinking to myself you know what, there's a
Walmart right over there. Okay, let me just give the
parent company their money back and I'll just go grab something.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
We heard Walmart stories today well amongst Sean's meandering answer.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
So this is why I want to bring it up
to you. Sean told the story at the end of
talking about the building and putting the last beam on
and all that stuff of Sam Walton flying overhead. And
I think Sean cut some people off guard today, but
he said that if the Walmart people heard the plane
flying above, it could be Sam who was about to
land and come check on your store.
Speaker 1 (03:39):
This is like the the early Walmart scattered about rural Arkansas.
The family fortune is getting built and Sam Walton would
fly as his little I don't know his Cessna or
whatever he had, and he would he would buzz the
tower on a Walmart, find the nearest runway, touchdown, thing down,
(04:00):
and then go inspect the store. So, yes, Carrie Walton
Penner apparently was regaling everybody with the tail today that
if you worked at a Walmart and you heard the
plane go right overhead, that man to get your bleep
in order.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
Yes, was he flying the red Bearns plane by the way.
Speaker 1 (04:21):
Biplane.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
Yeah, the one from the Charlie Brown Halloween special. Okay.
So anyway, I'm like, you know what, there's that Walmart
right there. I just need to grab and go, you know,
and our good friends, we'll tell you the twitch feed
is brought to you by Safeway. You know, you can order,
you can get fresh food, you can have it delivered,
you can do it all. And we think our friends
at Safeway for sponsoring Twitch. But unfortunately I couldn't think
(04:42):
where the closest Safeway was, Okay, so I was like,
I'll just go hit the parent company, Walmart.
Speaker 1 (04:47):
I was like, something you can find in the safe
Way app probably Andy, You're right, But at this point,
watch Twich.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
I've had enough frustration that I'm just going to the
place where I know where it is, okay, which there's
one about two blocks away from the Broncos right now.
I've shot there before, but I've not been there since
Walmart has officially bought the Broncos. And I think the
story today held wait because that all of a sudden,
it was a pretty nice Walmart before. That thing is the.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
Crown jewel of Waltatll. All of a sudden, Oh, I dude,
I'm telling you palatial.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
They don't. They don't want mister or missus Walton Benner
showing up at their store without it looking right. I mean,
it's it's as clean as any of those kind of
stories that I've ever seen. They had a grab and
go isle as if they knew that's what I was
coming in there for, sandwich selection, galore, sodas chips. This
that I found things at this Walmart that's not at
(05:41):
the Walmart by my house, like nice little logs I
could put my little solo stove. And I was like,
this is the I wonder if they know that an
heir to the fortune and actual Waltson is just a
couple blocks away. This one better not suck in case
they ever come over here, because it is the crown
jewel of Walmart.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
I I don't think that's a coincidence.
Speaker 2 (06:04):
I don't either. Now. As I left, I was like, Wow,
that's really And then I thought of Sean's answer, and
I'm like, there's gotta be a correlation. Yeah, I'm pretty
sure a plane overhead, but.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
I'm pretty sure management. Yeah that that that all adds
up to me absolutely. If Carrie needs to go and
grab and go a stand for lunch. There better not
be a bunny under the aisle.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
I went with the velveta cheese and turkey today.
Speaker 1 (06:26):
How was it?
Speaker 2 (06:27):
It was good? They got the job done. You know
sometimes you get those meals that just get the job done.
You're here in the next time you're at that facility, Yeah,
I bet you'll step by just to see what I'm
talking about.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
Okay, So here's the question, Andy, is is bo Is
bo Nicks the palatial Walmart or is bo Nicks just
the get the job done turkey and velveta?
Speaker 2 (06:48):
Oh it's a great question, eate. Look I'm not. I'm not.
I'll tell you why I'm gonna have a different reaction
to things this year than I did a year ago.
All Right, A, we know this defense is really really good,
and all they're doing is reinforcing that thought capital legit,
and they are They've got past rushers for days. It
feels like they've got edge pressure for days. Okay, and
(07:11):
then when you're if you can't escape that, as Bow
has had to do on a number of times, then
you got to deal with that secondary Okay. So I
do think that this is the toughest this is really
the toughest one, the toughest defense, the toughest tests Bo's
gonna face. Also something that Mike coach Sandford said yesterday
(07:34):
that stuck with me. Remember yesterday he said to us,
we've seen this practice before. Yeah, right, all right, Well
guess what I feel like we've seen this training camp
before too, because I remember being one of those panicked
last year when this offense just looked inept and sorry.
And now, look, it didn't have a first great month
of the season, to be fair about it.
Speaker 1 (07:53):
It took some time.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
But it feels like there's a process to what Sean's
doing and I'm not gonna I feel like, remember, we're
hitting scrimmage day tomorrow. Sean reminded us about scrimmage Day
last year, and I remember there wasn't just I think
last year's where a lot of us started to say,
all right, this offense could be in a little bit
of trouble because the scrimmage day had a couple of
moments but wasn't great overall. Yeah, I won't be shocked
(08:17):
if it looks the same way tomorrow as well.
Speaker 1 (08:19):
I tell you one thing I would like to see
evolve in this offense is and really the preparation of
this offense. So last year Broncos camp was the stitty
Zach Wilson bow Knicks competition emphasis on the year quotes
around competition because bow Nicks was going to win it
the entire time. But but it was generally reps. We
(08:42):
were split evenly. Have you noticed also this year that
it is still for bow reps, for Stitty reps, for
Ellinger reps.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
Really, I guess you're right. I guess it didn't dawn
on me, but you're right, what are we doing? That's
a great question.
Speaker 1 (08:58):
Why why?
Speaker 2 (09:00):
But it is like for the most part it is
true second first team, second team.
Speaker 1 (09:05):
Third, They keep it in that order. But can I
get Can I get some more bow reps? Can I
get some more first trend? Like again, I'm happy for
Sam Ellinger that he's getting his NFL opportunity and it's
trying to make the team. And like I'm and again
I'm using Sam sam Ellinger basically like all those third
(09:26):
teamer guys, you know, like go get him, Fellas, I'm
rooting for you. But this is a team. The Broncos
have less roster turnover than any other team in the NFL.
This year. I think the number was eighty six percent
of this season's roster was here last year. That is
the highest amount in the NFL this season. There. We've
talked about this before, Andy, there's like there's hardly any
(09:46):
jobs that are up for grabs on this team right now,
like I can tell you, and I'm looking at the
r lads depth chart right now. Yeah, that's what it's
gonna be week one. Like, it's not gonna be any different.
There's not guys rotating in and out. Like sure, there's
sometimes Trent Sherfield is with the ones, and sometimes Trent
Sherfield is with the twos, and sometimes RJ. Harvey is
with the ones, and sometimes JK. Dobbins is with the
(10:08):
ones or the twos or whatever. It is like that,
there's some of that going on, but really there's no
jobs up for grabs, Like, get these guys more work,
because right now the offense is way behind. Now we
know the quality of defense that they're going up against
every single day, Well let's do a little bit more now.
Speaker 2 (10:28):
It's funny you would say that. I don't know why
it didn't dawn on me, but you're absolutely right. That's
what we've watched. What I keep waiting for, and I've
said it over and over is when does the offense.
When does the number one offense go get to go
against When do they go against the number two defense?
I'm kind of waiting for that and just let them
get some work in. I agree, you know what I mean? Yeah,
because again, uh, there's no and to be fair a
little bit to the offensive line. How physical can they
(10:52):
get with this pass rush? You know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (10:54):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (10:54):
Although I will say, gosh, did you notice the rep
and he was either Stamford a Tyler that told me
I was standing next to those guys. I want to
say it was Tyler called it out. I'll tell you
what I saw a great moment from Nick Benito. I
want to get in and break down from you. I
don't you You may need to pay Nick Benito real soon.
Nick Krekman, even though you don't want to.
Speaker 1 (11:14):
You know who's gonna weigh in on that way in
Jeff Legwald. We'll be doing that coming up next, We're
talking Broncos training camp. As Our training camp coverage on
Altitude Sports Radio is powered by Ramos Law, the official
injury law firm partner of Broncos Country. Yeah, Jeff Legwald
time here on a Friday afternoon training camp coverage powered
(11:36):
by Ramos Law, the official injury law firm partner of
Broncos Country Leggi Sean Payton today talking about Bo Nix
and today was Bo's first camp interception. In his first
camp interception was on an RPO and he threw it
to talanoa hufonga And at least for what Joan had
(11:56):
to say for public consumption, he didn't really make it
out be Bo's fault so much as it was an
unbelievable play made by a safe safety that the Broncos
compensated quite well to come in here. That was more
of a who fung a highlight than a Nick's low light,
wouldn't you say?
Speaker 3 (12:16):
Definitely that's uh. He would gladly trade or gladly want about,
you know, four or five of those during the season.
It was an incredible play. It was. It was fairly
ridiculous that the uh, he snagged that one at close
range at about you know, a thirty five inch vertical,
(12:37):
So it was it was a good snag. You know,
I think you'll have a lot more to say about
the second one, Uh, to sir Tan, I think that
one will be discussed more on a football level.
Speaker 1 (12:49):
Well, when he compared it to a Russell Wilson interception,
you knew that that wasn't a good look for bow Nicks.
Speaker 3 (12:56):
Well bo Bo Actually he used Russell as a compared
but again by my evaluation of it, Bo had two
of those last year, same same overlap, same almost same
spot on the field. So that is a tough one
to decipher as a quarterback. And it's even more it's
(13:18):
it's kind of a fake man demand situation where the
corner sneaks in and when the corners start tan, that's
a tough one to avoid it through the QB. Peyton
called it a blind spot. There's a blind area, I
think he said, on that play. So that's the one
they'll talk about from a football perspective. The other one
(13:39):
you just say, that's an awesome play. You know that
ball get there through their ninety nine times out of
one hundred lake Yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:48):
Close do you think we are to that Zach Allen extension?
There are some maybe jump the gun reports a couple
of days ago that they were real close. Haven't heard
anything since. How close do you think the two sides are.
Speaker 3 (13:59):
Well. I mean, I know, you know, they've had discussions,
and I think that's one that could certainly get done,
you know, you know, could get finished if the guaranteed
money is agreed to and all of those things. You know, again,
you know, I'm going by what people are telling me.
(14:20):
I did not feel that imminence from the folks I
was talking to. But as we've seen over the years,
that can change really fast. But I think he wants like,
you know, much like Sutton and certain and they want
to stay. They know they're watching what will be a
state of the art palace that the Denver Broncos are
(14:44):
going to be working and is being built right next
to the practice field. They see what it's going to
be like here and people want to stay. So I
think he'd like to stay, and they'd certainly like to
have them. It's always the tug of war about guaranteed
money and when you'll get it, and you know that
(15:04):
this is this is no different than any other. Doesn't
mean things are tense or any of that. It just
means they're gonna both sides are gonna hammer away until
they get as close to what they want as possible.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
All Right, I'm gonna ask you a question, and it's
a softball for you because it's one I've kind of
chatted with you about before, and Nate as as well.
But I think I was standing next to Tyler and
they did something with Benito. They adjusted something, and Tyler goes, oh,
they're gonna chip him. They'renna chip him, he could tell,
and he goes, oh, I think Benito sees it, and
(15:38):
they snapped the ball and Benito goes wide, spins the chip,
I want to say, and then eludes the tackle and
got inside on a pass rush. And I mean it
was and it all just happened so fast, right, he
just is. He's that dude that was the profile in
the scouting report that you were telling us. They when
(15:59):
are they gonna quit messing around and get him done?
Which one of those two guys would you do first?
Speaker 3 (16:04):
Now?
Speaker 2 (16:04):
I think they're great together, so I'd get them both done.
Speaker 3 (16:07):
But yeah, I you know, look, they want him, They
want to keep them. Pass rushers like that are hard
to find that they look, Benito is a great example
of what you're supposed to do draft and develop, you know,
and that's how it should go. And of course you
(16:28):
want those. You know now they're not going to resign
everybody through the years and all those things, but they
want to keep him. But if you're Benito or yours
his representatives, you're going to wait and see what the
top of the market is going to be where the
bar is, because then when you slot under that, you
(16:50):
know that affects your income. So unless the Broncos just
blow them away with guaranteed money or the total, you
know again, things can always change. But if you're his representatives,
getting him signed before Micah Parsons sets the bar is
(17:12):
not good business unless the Broncos just go so big
you can't say no, or you're like Sirtan and you say,
this is an awesome deal in a place I want
to be at and you take it. Those are the
scenarios where that gets done. But they know what they have.
He knows what he is as a player, and you
(17:34):
know now it's just about getting the dollar figure where
what it'll take to get him in. It's going to
take near the top of the market, and both sides
know it.
Speaker 1 (17:45):
Jeff Legwell the ESPN Leggy along those lines with Micah Parsons.
Is today's news that Parsons has requested a trade and
quite frankly took some pretty bold faced shots at Jerry
Jones and the Cowboys on social media today. Does that
speed things up to get something done for Parsons or
(18:07):
slow things down? What's your read on this right now?
Speaker 3 (18:11):
I actually asked if I was making some calls on
some other things, and I asked a couple executives around
the league who I know, and they see, potentially you
have two very stubborn sides involved. You have perhaps the
most powerful agent in the NFL now or if he's not,
(18:34):
he's on the podium you know, gold, silver, or bronze
for most powerful agent in the NFL. And you have
a player who has no resume flaws on or off
the field, who is willing and strong willed, and Jerry
is Jerry. So you have two very stubborn sides. So
(18:57):
there's potential heavyweight battle. Yeah, there's potentially. You know, it's
just what is Parsons willing to do in the in
the near term. You know, it's fifty grand a day
fine if you leave camp now you know he's on
a rookie deal, so uh, I think those fines can
(19:17):
still be rescinded later. If you're if you're if it
comes when you're on your rookie deal. Uh, but that
there's a lot of texture to that. I mean, I
don't know anyone in the league here doesn't think the
Cowboys have just blown this. Uh. And this is not
how you This will not be in the textbook of
(19:39):
how you handle contract negotiations.
Speaker 2 (19:42):
All right. Do you think either Terry McLaurin or Micah
Parsons is with new teams by the start of the season.
Speaker 3 (19:49):
Yeah, that's a good that's an excellent question. I think
McLaurin would have a better chance to be moved just
because of the He wants awesome money for a guy,
you know who's going to be on the wrong side
of thirty in the NFL fairly soon. But that's not
the contract it will take to finish a trade with
(20:11):
a guy like Micah Parsons. I mean, he's gonna if
you're acquiring Micah Parsons, it's gonna take you know, first
round picks, maybe players, and the biggest contract of any
defensive player in the league. Likely.
Speaker 1 (20:28):
Yeah, it's it's what it's gonna have to be. He's
looking to reset the market right now. Jeff Legwall to ESPN,
All right, Leggie, let's bring it back to the Broncos.
His training camp coverage on Altitude Sports Radio is powered
by Romo's Law, the official injury law firm partner of
Broncos Country. My eyes tell me, and you can always disagree, Leggy,
but my eyes tell me the defense is winning out
(20:51):
there when it's ones on ones. That's that would be
my take. I know it's spicy, but that would be
my take as of right now. My question is is
it cause for any concern? Does any adjustment need to
be made in camp in order for this offense to
find more flow?
Speaker 3 (21:12):
I don't think so. It's more confidence this year. If
you're the coach, sure you have to decide when is
it impacting the group's confidence. And I don't sense that
would be a problem because I think bo Nicks is
a pretty powerful fuel of confidence. He's a really competitive
(21:33):
young guy and it's never going to want to back
away from anything. I just see a defense that has
most everybody back off one of the league's best defenses
last year and only added really good players who are
veteran players, so they have fit in quickly and nicely.
(21:58):
So I think right now it's more a testament of
how good the defense is so quickly in camp than
it is you know, red flag on the offense, you know,
because I think, you know, I thought the offense was
going to be behind anyway. They're tweaking the run game.
(22:20):
Ingram's a new ad, you know, the running back situation there.
You know, Dobbins is a new guy.
Speaker 1 (22:27):
R J.
Speaker 3 (22:27):
Harvey is a new guy. I mean, they've got a
lot more sort of new things to work through on offense. Now.
If they get through the second preseason game and they
still haven't done much, then now I think you're you're
trying to decide, if you're the Broncos staff, all right,
do we gotta do we have to tweak some things?
(22:48):
Are they not getting what we're preaching? I mean, you
know what is going on, But I don't think practice
right now is an indicator. I mean, wait till the
joint practices. If you think Bronco's off is having a problem,
let's wait and see what the forty nine ers and
the Cardinals offenses, you know, try to do against the group.
Speaker 2 (23:09):
Lavelle Bailey, we haven't talked a lot about him because
there's so many exciting young names. It feels like to
talk about is there any chance you could threaten Alex
Singleton's job assuming everybody can get healthy. I mean, where
do you think this guy lines in? Might he might
he steal a starting job before it's all said and done.
Speaker 3 (23:25):
And I think it would take it the injuries to
keep going. I think they very much enjoyed these Singleton
Greenlaw pairing. I think they got enough of a look
at that already to have decided, you know, that's pretty
damn good. And I think it would take an awful
(23:46):
lot to sway them from that. But that's sad. I
think there he's getting more and more snaps as the
first guy in if the other two guys aren't able
to practic this or whatever. Uh, And that's a big
jump for him from undrafted guy to suddenly, you know,
(24:08):
being in the mix. I think that it is something
where you would say, in the future, you know, what
does it look like? But but right now, I think
they love the fact he's he's sort of first guy
in when needed, and he's done really well the last
week or so. You can see he's put in the
(24:30):
time and and the made the progression and done the
work from his part too to be in this position.
Speaker 1 (24:38):
LEGI, there's no such thing as a perfect free agency signing.
Guys are on the market for a reason. Drake green
Law Peyton talked about it after practice today. Scans good.
He's expected back next week. But again, this is more
work that Drake green Law is missing. Looked super impressive
to your point when he has been on the field
(24:58):
so far. But should we be worried that dra Greenlaw
is becoming injury prone?
Speaker 3 (25:06):
Yeah, it's hard, as you know, you guys know, it's
hard for me to use that phrase, you know, And
I guess that might just be a personal thing, sure,
because I think it just you know, there's just sort
of that, you know, I woke up this morning and
I got in a car accident. Element to the NFL
injuries to me, But it isn't when they signed them.
(25:28):
The reason they got them for the price they did,
which was an economical in the in the world where
a player this good is on the market, is because
I think he's missed what thirty some games, and you know,
since twenty one or twenty two, and I think that
is is a concern. You know, it was a concern
(25:51):
for them when they signed them, but they're hoping for
the best. Now, I think this totally is okay. We're
not going to take any chances. You know, if this
was the regular season, I would be interested to see
how they were treating this injury because I watched him
personally go through the stretch, doing all of the leg
(26:12):
work during the stretch, and then he ran off the
field to go work with the trainers. So I think
this was more of let's show Drake Greenlaw he didn't
re injure the same thing he had in the off season,
and just take it, take it smooth, because again, they've
seen enough he could play in the defense in Week
(26:34):
one and have impact. He's ready to go. I don't
think he needs, you know, twenty more practices to prove
to them he's ready to go. But and I think
my gut is in a regular season, he would likely
be on your injury report and play during play a game.
Speaker 1 (26:52):
Key last thing and we got about a minute here,
But right now, my assumption is Cortland, Sutton, and Evan
Ingram will lead the Broncos in targets the passing game
this year. Based on what you've seen out of this
camp reps, performances, et cetera. Who do you think is
going to be third on that list?
Speaker 3 (27:09):
That's an you know, I think if it's totally you
know where the ball should go and impact and all
those things, I'd say, mims, Yeah. But I watched the
how bow Knicks goes through his progressions and how they're
set up on offense, and there might be a good
(27:29):
chance that third player is a back and for combination
of running backs, if that makes sense. But I think
they're going to be active in that part of the
I've seen too much of the effort and work being
done in practice on that element of the passing game
for me not to believe that they have plans at
(27:52):
least early in the season for that.
Speaker 1 (27:54):

Speaker 2 (30:24):
Okay, now I do want to point out I'm not
saying it should run your life, because it shouldn't. But
this is the night of a Bronco preseason game, so.
Speaker 1 (30:33):
So you'll win. In mind, don't really want to go
to the Lesson.
Speaker 2 (30:36):
Show that night, because after one play of preseason football,
you'll think, you know, I should have gone to that show.
Speaker 1 (30:43):
By the way UH Chargers covered and the over last night,
I thought about that.
Speaker 2 (30:47):
You really gave people good advice. I didn't see. I
went to something with some of like a high school reunion.
Speaker 1 (30:52):
You went to a high school reunion.
Speaker 2 (30:54):
Yeah, I felt like that. Okay, it was a big
party of it was a reunion of people of my past.
It was a good time.
Speaker 1 (31:00):
You can't tell the people what it was. No, is
it a contract relation.
Speaker 2 (31:04):
Of your business that you went. That's what it is.
Speaker 1 (31:06):
I know none of your I know where you went, it's.
Speaker 2 (31:08):
None of your Yeah, that well, you know what. The
place I used to work turned a huge birthday, and
so a few of us got together.
Speaker 1 (31:16):
Yeah, like hundreds.
Speaker 2 (31:19):
One of those things where I went. I was like,
I'm just gonna swing by. I want to see how
the places look since I've been there for a while. Yeah,
And every time I tried, like I got there at
like six twenty, I ain't leave till eight thirty because
I literally every time I turned around and seen someone
I'd not seen in at least five years, that's no longer.
So it's a good time and the building looks nothing
like it used.
Speaker 1 (31:39):
I am bitter.
Speaker 2 (31:41):
Uh you didn't get invited for your five weeks of service.
Speaker 1 (31:43):
That KOA thought they could tell the story of their
one hundred years without telling the story of the five
weeks that I work.
Speaker 2 (31:50):
You were the afternoon board up.
Speaker 1 (31:52):
I was who was the duo? Was it Kreeger Logan?
It was Logan and Lois Malcone. Okay, yeah, yeah, I
was to see why I'm maybe you opted for other things.
I was. I was the producer slat well, actually I
wasn't even the producer. Monti al Lee was the producer.
I was the boardop whatever guy. I was there for
(32:12):
three weeks. They trained me, and then I had a
better job offer, and so I put in my two
weeks notice.
Speaker 2 (32:18):
Yeah you gotta be on air.
Speaker 1 (32:20):
Yeah, I wanted to be on it.
Speaker 2 (32:21):
I remember that. I was thinking. I was a cutting
tape that day with anisop. How do you find out
about that job? Yeah, uh huh, I'm here cutting tape,
but he's out hosting the show. It was.
Speaker 1 (32:30):
It was in the it was in the works, and
then it was like it kept getting delayed and I
was like, well, I have to take something. I got
rent to pay. Yeah, this part is something.
Speaker 2 (32:41):
Yeah, that job would have helped you pay the rent
too much.
Speaker 1 (32:43):
The nice enough fellow that hired me, Uh, he was
not psyched when I put in my two weeks notes.
Speaker 2 (32:49):
I'm sure I think he was there.
Speaker 1 (32:52):
He was. He was a nice enough fellow, though, I
do remember that about him. Altitude Sports Radio ninety two five,
Denver's new home for Westwood One's coverage of the National
Football League, beginning with Week one of the upcoming regular season.
The extensive package Andy the Nick Foles of nationally broadcast
games include Sunday Night Football, Monday Night Football, Thursday Night Football,
(33:13):
international games, Thanksgiving, Christmas, every playoff game culminating with Super
Bowl sixty. You'll listen to all of it right here
on Altitude Sports Radio ninety two to five.
Speaker 2 (33:21):
You know you like Nick Foles, You don't never go
Drew Locke. If him, then interesting.
Speaker 1 (33:25):
I feel like Nick Foles.
Speaker 2 (33:27):
It's like more legendary. I don't know, And I'd say
Drew had the better head, the better nickname.
Speaker 1 (33:36):
Nick Foles won a Super Bowl.
Speaker 2 (33:39):
Drew started with horse and it rhymed with his last name.
Was that, Like, was that just the joke or was it?
Now somebody shared a video after you brought it up.
Because I had no idea they started sending his videos
because I think I asked you. I never saw that
a real thing where the quite a few of the
(33:59):
college co eds were yelling at him as he walked
into a game one time. So it seemed like some
people at evidence of said nick name.
Speaker 1 (34:05):
Good for true, good for him, good for you, bud uh. Yeah.
I tend to go Nick Foles more on that one again,
more legendary.
Speaker 2 (34:14):
He's good.
Speaker 1 (34:15):
He's the NFL's Milton Burrel.
Speaker 2 (34:16):
Do you remember, boy, we talked about drafts earlier. Yeah,
I remember how good that Nick Foles. Gosh, who was
the USC kid that was supposed to just light the
next thing? No, not Liner.
Speaker 1 (34:29):
It was much like Barkley Barkley, thank you. Matt Barkley
threw seven touchdowns against the bus.
Speaker 2 (34:34):
Yeah, I was like, this guy might not be bad.
There was a year my first year doing full time
buff sidelines. Yeah, I got to see Matt Barkley, Nick Foles,
Andrew Luck rock Osweiler first year because they played all
of them. Yeah, it did not go well it didn't.
Speaker 1 (34:54):
I think I've told you my Matt Barkley story before.
But that night that that sc came in to play
the John Embrey Buffs, I was I was tasked with,
Oh yeah, dude, dude, dude, you're gonna you're gonna go
to Boulder, you know, host that afternoon, You're gonna go
to the game that we're doing three hours. We're taking
(35:15):
calls after the Buffs upset us seat. It's gonna be massive,
It's gonna be huge. You need to be on the air.
You need to be the place that everybody goes. Dude, dude, dude.
And then Matt Barkley, Uh, he took out his nick
Foles that night on Colorado and threw seven touchdowns. I
was like, does nothing bother This kid just annihilated brutal
(35:37):
and the stadium was empty by the fourth quarter. It
was awful. They murdered the Buffs, and then I walked
back over to the Harvest House and I think I
was on the air for fifteen minutes. I took a break.
I got a phone call from dude, dude's where's the energy.
Speaker 2 (35:55):
Yeah, it sounds like you want to be there.
Speaker 1 (35:56):
They lost by fifty.
Speaker 2 (35:57):
Yeah, the energy's gone. The energy is partying on Pearl Street,
not at the harvest House.
Speaker 1 (36:03):
I'm sorry, I don't have a highlight to talk. Yeah
right now, Oh, believe it or not, the phones aren't buzzing.
Speaker 2 (36:11):
I boardop some of those you know, the thing that's
springing back and everybody does, and we'd have these soul packages. Yeah,
the hungry man, hungriest offensive play of the game. Yeah,
we don't have an offensive play.
Speaker 3 (36:24):
Run.
Speaker 2 (36:24):
What are we gonna do for this?
Speaker 1 (36:25):
When you have to host a post game after your
team has gotten just slobb or not? Yeah, there's like again,
like I I can try to bring the energy, but
I'm being disingenuous to the audience. That is just like
f that game. I don't want to hear anything about it,
because when your team gets killed, the last thing you
(36:47):
want is more information about Oh you're not listening to that.
You're listening to your rage, listening.
Speaker 2 (36:54):
To the coach talk. Yeah right right, and maybe rage
listening to the quarterback to explain. And then you're out
of there.
Speaker 1 (37:01):
Like super Bowl forty eight, okay, forty three to eight,
and yeah, like the phone lines were jammed the next day,
but like it was mostly just people being pissed off
at John Fox. There there was a lot of that.
Like I remember Andy the play twenty twelve after the
loss to Baltimore. That was like that was a week
(37:23):
of just like the calls wouldn't stop because that game
was it was a saga and there was so much
that happened in it and there were so many ins
and outs to discuss, and it just like wouldn't stop.
Super Bowl forty eight, it was just like, well that
sucked well and you could have like argued like they
should have used crowd noise and practice or whatever.
Speaker 2 (37:45):
That one's gonna save them.
Speaker 1 (37:47):
Nothing was saving them that day.
Speaker 2 (37:49):
Nobody had the O line to stop that defense, period
and that defense was so good. The thing about Super
Bowl forty eight, what I remember is I remember driving
home from the airport going how how do they even
how do you climb back up the hill after this?
Speaker 1 (38:03):
And twenty fourteen was one of the weirdest Broacal seasons.
It wasn't a bad team, it was a good team,
but it was like that season it started with like
a quarter tank of gas in the end.
Speaker 2 (38:14):
Well, because what happens, Nate is we sit there and
we go, well, all right, great, you got this regular
season offense. I remember, wasn't this all on the heels
of when the late Jim Ers said, you know, the
problem is you could put up Star Wars numbers with
this thing always falls apart in the playoffs Manning. Yeah,
(38:35):
And it was like, and I think he had said
it in twenty twelve, maybe his first year when he
went there to or maybe was earlier in twenty thirteen
when he went there to play for the.
Speaker 1 (38:42):
First It was when he was making the decision, and
it was tied into making the decision and go with
Luck over Manning.
Speaker 2 (38:47):
Right right, And the bottom line is you're like, oh, man,
this is what he's talking about. This is what he's
talking about.
Speaker 1 (38:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (38:54):
So I don't know, dude, I don't know. That was rough.
You're right, ball more we were all you know what.
I think I'm the only one that wasn't hacked off
about him not trying to kick Matt Prater because I
remember distinctly, and again it's the old sideline report that
(39:15):
I used to save up for games like that. It
was freezing. How is he kicking each direction? And I
remember Crater was struggling to the to the direction that
south end of the stadium. I don't know why, It's
like I can't remember a win coming in there. But
he chunked a few in the warm ups and then
right before the half if you remember, Yeah, he like
(39:37):
chunked that one and missed that field goal which let
Baltimore go get a score.
Speaker 1 (39:41):
Remember they took a knee with thirty they got and
they took a knee. And again like the one that
I this will always be my comeback to. That is
if Peyton Manning goes to John Fox and says, I
got this fair enough, Foxy, Right, But guess what. By
the end of that game, Peyton couldn't.
Speaker 2 (39:59):
Move because move and his arm was frozen in Yeah,
he already couldn't feel his hand.
Speaker 1 (40:03):
Yeah. And again, like I know, there was always like
the cold weather statistic when it came to Peyton Manning.
That was the most bitter foot cold football game that
any of us have ever been apart it probably will
be in our life. It was that freaking miserable.
Speaker 2 (40:16):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (40:17):
If you won less than Jake tickets, Uh, we're gonna
be in touch with you. So congratulations to you. Uh Andy,
what was the last name of the Jake, the tight
end that the Broncos took out of Michigan with a
fifth ron pick in twenty seventeen.
Speaker 2 (40:31):
What was his last name sandwiched in between the selections
of Jeff Heireman and Fumagali. Yeah, was Jake Butt But
and it was as matter of fact, he had a
Twitter handle of j Booty.
Speaker 1 (40:44):
We were looking for the answer, We were looking for
but save that drop three zero three, five oh four
nine two five. Congratulations to our winners. You're going to
see less than Jake, Fishbone and the Suicide Machines Saturday,
August ninth at the Filmore Auditorium in Denver. Gonna be
a kick butt show, but get it corrected and Lindahl
