La partes más importantes de un sistema domótico son:
- Tú eres la pieza principal y tu objetivo es tumbarte en el sofá mientras tu casa funciona sola como si estuviera encantada.
- Luego está el controlador domótico que, a no ser que hayas pasado los últimos años en Marte, te habrás enterado de la que está liando Home Assistant.
- En algún sitio habrá que instalar Home Assistant ¿no?. Aquí es donde entra en juego el servidor y no, no tienes que ampliar la hipoteca para tener uno en casa. Porque puedes optar por una de estas cuatro opciones
- Utilizar una máquina virtual en tu ordenador personal.
- Utilizar un ordenador viejo.
- Utilizar la Raspberry Pi que tienes metida en un cajón desde hace meses.
- O, mi preferida, utilizar uno de esos mini pcs que están tan de moda.
- Y un servidor no es nada sin un sistema operativo estable, fiable y seguro, características que descartan a Windows y ponen en el punto de mira a Linux.
- Por último, falta que hable de los dispositivos domóticos donde hay más tela que cortar que en las fábricas de Zara, pero esto lo dejaré para otro capítulo.
Voy a hablar del primer paso que cualquiera que quiera automatizar su casa con Home Assistant debería dar.
Porque esto es como hacer una paella, no basta con poner los ingredientes en el fogón, para conseguirlo vas a tener que remangarte, crujir los dedos y aporrear el teclado. Me refiero a que vas a tener que instalar Home Assistant en tu servidor sea el servidor que sea.
Porque como no te pongas en acción y empieces a sofreir el arroz, te va a quedar con un bodegón de puta madre pero vas a pasar más hambre que un mosquito en el museo de cera.
Y esta es la razón por la que en este capítulo voy explicar los cuatro métodos oficiales (subrayo lo de oficiales) de instalar Home Assistant.
Y puede que si estás pensando en montar un sistema domótico en casa te interese, o no, que ya sabes que tampoco te conozco tanto.
