Speaker 1 (00:07):
Hello, and welcome to the latest episode of Lean and Leander.
I'm your host, Andrew Nawden, and we're already twenty five
years into the New century, which just boggles the mind
when you start to think about it. Twenty first century
and we're twenty five years in, so you know, it
(00:28):
seems like time just keep slipping into the future as
the song goes, and here we are in the future.
Now by the time you watch this, it'll be the past.
But let's not get into some of the particulars there.
We are looking forward to a fourth season of episodes
here on Lean and Leander, and I hope you'll continue
(00:49):
to join me as I take a look at some
of the people's, the places, and the things that make
Leander what Leander is, which is a very interesting and
vibrant city with a lot of different ways of looking
at things. And we're going to try to continue to
keep what we do here at the podcast and keep
(01:10):
that in mind. So looking forward to some additional conversations.
There's a lot of new kids on the block, so
to speak, and there's a few areas that I am
looking forward to exploring, and hopefully we'll be able to
set up some interviews here in the near term to
kind of continue on a few of those thought processes
that I had. Basically towards the end of last year,
(01:31):
I was really looking at what we're doing with our
green spaces here in Leander, and I had been reaching
out to the Parks and Recreation Department of the City
of Leander, and there was a little bit of a
transition there. So I'm hoping that we can reconnect here
in the new year with the new leadership and see
about having a few conversations about what we're doing as
(01:52):
it relates to conservation efforts in the city, as well
as a general kind of we're coming around time, I
think for the comprehensive Plan again, and so I wanted
to kind of include some of that conversation in a
review of that as well, because the time will come
here where we kind of take a look and try
(02:15):
to plan for the future. So I want to bring
up a few topics that I hope will interest a
few people and hopefully get some conversations started. Of course,
twenty twenty five is an election year as well, so
we'll continue with the most popular series that we have,
and to be frank it's the only one that's ever
really gotten off the ground is the vote in Leanders series,
(02:37):
so we'll continue to do that with a few new
twists this year, and I hope that that'll continue to
keep you interested in the greater political discussion that we
have as far as our municipality here and Leander is concerned.
Hopefully we'll have a full turnout with all of the
current incumbent officials as well as anybody who is running
(03:01):
for office. We'll sit down with them and have a
little conversation about who they are, where they're coming from,
and what they think they bring to the table as
far as that process is concerned. So those are going
to be the focus points for the year. This is
a quick little video just to kind of get your
attention and say hello again, but definitely looking forward to
(03:22):
what the new year will bring us, and we're going
to introduce a couple of new people into the podcast
this year to give it a little bit more variety
and not always be just my voice leading that conversation.
So stick around. Those are coming soon and I look
forward to our next year together, season four of Lean
(03:43):
and Leander, and a very happy twenty twenty five to
all of you out there and we'll see you around town. Thanks,
