ENGLISH:
Vivian Maier spent her life taking care of other people's children. But she was not only a nanny; she was a secret artist. She suffered from syllogomania, a compulsive collecting disorder which made her seem mysterious to her surroundings. Vivian was strict, but also adventurous, and encouraged the children to pay attention to the small details of the world. Together with them, she explored the city and observed the life around her. She secretly took photos while doing this and collected over 100,000 negatives. No one knew about her passion, because she never showed her photos to anyone. After her death, her belongings were auctioned off. A young historian named John Maloof discovered her pictures by chance and immediately recognized her great talent. Suddenly, Vivian Maier became famous after her death. Unlike today, where many people share everything online, Vivian made her photos only for herself. She never sought recognition or applause. Vivian Maier's story inspires us to think about the value of art that is created just for oneself. Sometimes the most valuable things are those that remain hidden.
