Speaker 2 (00:11):
Hi Rachel, Hello Neil, how are you doing.
Speaker 1 (00:14):
I'm great, Rachel? How are you?
Speaker 2 (00:16):
I'm doing well? Thanks?
Speaker 1 (00:18):
All right, then, Rachel, do you know what we'll be
talking about today.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
We'll be talking about opposites exactly.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
We're going to discuss words that are the opposites of others.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
That's right.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
For example, what's the opposite of small?
Speaker 2 (00:35):
The opposite of small is big.
Speaker 1 (00:37):
What's the opposite of strong?
Speaker 2 (00:40):
Weak?
Speaker 1 (00:41):
The opposite of dirty?
Speaker 2 (00:44):
Clean?
Speaker 1 (00:46):
What's the opposite of easy.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
Difficult?
Speaker 1 (00:52):
The opposite of hard, soft, alive.
Speaker 3 (00:58):
Deadly, beautiful, expensive, cheap, tall, short, full, empty, old, young.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
Heavy, light, fat, thin, rich.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
Poor, hot, cold?
Speaker 1 (01:31):
And remember when we talk about objects, the opposite of
old can also be new, right, exactly. And now let's
talk a bit more about these words. Yes, do you
prefer big cities or small towns?
Speaker 2 (01:48):
I really enjoy big cities.
Speaker 1 (01:50):
Why is that, Rachel?
Speaker 2 (01:52):
Well, big cities offer more opportunities, and depending on the
type of city, it can also be rich in history.
Speaker 1 (01:59):
In a small town, you drive in, shift into second
gear and you're already seeing the sign that says thanks
for visiting.
Speaker 2 (02:08):
Exactly in your.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
Opinion, who's stronger Superman or Batman Superman? Why do you
think Superman's stronger?
Speaker 2 (02:17):
From what we've seen, Superman has more physical strength, while
Batman is more about fighting crime with his skills and gadgets.
Speaker 1 (02:25):
Right, I guess it's because Superman's also known as the
Man of Steel.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
Yes, our super muscle man.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
Exactly. How many siblings do you have, Rachel, I live
with two sisters. And in your house, whose room is
the cleanest yours or your sisters?
Speaker 2 (02:43):
Oh? Definitely mine?
Speaker 1 (02:45):
Do you keep it spotless?
Speaker 2 (02:47):
Yes? I do?
Speaker 1 (02:48):
And when they mess it up, do they clean it afterward?
Speaker 2 (02:52):
Well, when they even think about making a mess, I
lock the door.
Speaker 1 (02:56):
Good strategy, Neil.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
I've got a question for you now, Oh, what's the question?
In your opinion? What's the hardest language to learn and
the easiest one?
Speaker 1 (03:06):
Hmm, that's an interesting question, right. The easiest language to learn,
I'd say is Spanish, but it's not always the easiest
for English speakers because they can get confused between English
and Spanish. That's true, But according to studies, Spanish is
the easiest language to learn, yep, and the hardest one,
(03:31):
I'd say finish.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
Right, let's move on to the next question then, sure.
What's the most expensive gift you've ever received?
Speaker 1 (03:40):
Hmm. That's a special question for me because the most
valuable gift in life is life itself. Life is priceless. Right.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
Wow, that's deep.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
Thanks Neil.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
Could you name three of the richest countries and three
of the poorest?
Speaker 1 (03:58):
Well, I know the richest countries by GDP gross domestic
product yep. The richest are the United States, China, and Japan.
Speaker 2 (04:07):
Wow. That's interesting, But I.
Speaker 1 (04:09):
Don't know the poorest ones by GDP per capita do you.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
Yes, it's Kata, Luxembourg and Singapore.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
Wow. I've never been to those countries. It'd be interesting
to visit them, definitely. And what about the poorest ones, Rachel?
Speaker 2 (04:27):
Do you know the poorest are Burundi, the Central African Republic,
and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
Wow. It's funny because I know a few people hear
from those countries, but I didn't know they were among
the poorest.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
That's right.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
I always thought of other places, you know.
Speaker 2 (04:45):
Yeah, I used to think of Malawi, Liberia and South Sudan.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
True. One last question, what's the difference between an old
person and a young person?
Speaker 2 (04:57):
An older person besides having life a experience has so
much to teach us. A younger person has a lot
of energy and vitality, especially when it comes to health.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
Ah, So to recap, a young person has vitality and
health exactly, and an older person has wisdom and experience exactly.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
They have so much to teach us. Neil, do you
know any famous people who are overweight? Could you name
three for us?
Speaker 1 (05:30):
I think I should have skipped that one, sat a last.
It might not go down well on the podcast.
Speaker 2 (05:39):
It's a tricky one.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
Indeed, Rachel. Are your grandparents to you alive?
Speaker 2 (05:48):
Sadly, No, they've all passed away.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
Oh I'm sorry to hear that, and yours on my
mom's side, yes, But on my dad's side only my
granddad is still alive.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
Interesting well, Neil, thank you so much for having me
on today's podcast.
