(04:03):
you imported perfumes from Holland. But now you can get
chipments through right, Yeah, that is fry. So in order
to make yourself some money. You're going to handle the
goods we smuggle in from the West Indies. Oh, but

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Okay, Now here's the way we handle this business. I'll
set up a lot of small sales agencies to market
the stuff through small pedals. Yeah, you'll go on selling
to your regular customers in the regular way at regular prices,
including the duty you've paid legitimately. But how can I
wait until I get through? Now? Every so often the
government will check on the amount you've sold. Yeah, they
(04:45):
do that, okay, But what they won't know is how
much smuggle goods we ship into your warehouse and how
much my sales organization takes out of your warehouse if
what the supposed maybe they catch one of your boats
springing in the load to my doctor. No they won't.
We don't land our stuff in the regular way. But
there and how that's my secret hands. But why not
(05:08):
ship direct to yours heals organize? It might be traced
back to the real source. This way, only you and
I will know how much of the smuggle goods go.
Speaker 1 (05:16):
Through your wear.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
But what do I get for the risk and the
use of my name? I cut on every bottle every
ouncets sold, and that'll be plenty of our prices. Okay,
then to be stopped. I've got a load hidden up
the coast at piece. I'll bring some down to night
Eddy boom, Yes, I'll.
Speaker 3 (05:33):
Come in, mister van Schmidt outside, Are you busy?

I was in a store when one of your perfume
salesmen came in. He offered me some perfume at a
reduced price. But I didn't have the money at the time,
(05:59):
so I couldn't buy any from him. But I borrowed
some money later, and well, you see, I have a
date with my girl, and I thought, now, how do
you know he was one of my salesmen? Besides, we
don't sell retail. Oh what makes you think he was
one of my salessman?
Speaker 4 (06:15):
Well, one of the brands he carried, I understood was
imported exclusively by you.
Speaker 2 (06:22):

armor and mask. Where was the go beetle headed for tonight?
Speaker 4 (06:52):
The warehouse of ANJ.
Speaker 2 (06:54):

think so. There was a man talking with Ben Schmid
as I entered his office today. He said something about
seeing Van Schmidt tonight.
Speaker 3 (07:02):
Do you think he is one of the smugglers.
Speaker 2 (07:03):

visits Van Schmidt.
Speaker 3 (07:07):
I always thought Van Schmidt was enormous Dutch importance. I
buy perfume storm it frequently.
Speaker 2 (07:12):
Well, I'm convinced he's mixed up in this somehow, And
tonight I hope to solve the mystery.
Speaker 3 (07:16):
Oh, by the way, here here's an interesting nighting in
the Newspaper's sort of a mystery too.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
And what is it?
Speaker 3 (07:22):
It's excited here?
Speaker 2 (07:23):
See hmm. Large whale slided off Sandy beach light. Several
fishermen reported seeing a large fish, probably a whale, just
at dust today as they were hauling in their nets.
According to their story, the whales seemed to be feeding
on garbage thrown overboard from the Southern Star, which was
entering a port from its West Indies cruise. Ah, that's queer.
Speaker 3 (07:47):
More's queer about it.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
Wales don't eat garbage or refuse. That's true.
Speaker 4 (07:51):
I've got a hunch that wasn't a whale, then what
was it? That's a question the blue beetle will answer
after tonight. I think the answer to our smuggling question
maybe in the stomach of that whale.
Speaker 2 (08:20):
H sir dot you ringlin, Yes, I got Frenchy in
the viper with me. Open up there you I got
(08:43):

your You know why I fixed that up there. If
somebody comes in, we cut the hoop and your neck
for it. That's right. Keep your eyes still.
Speaker 1 (09:02):

Speaker 2 (09:03):
Why do you want this load? Put benchmin put it
back up those geesas there these heard his stuff in
front first? Okay, put those cases and glass bottles back there, boys,
don't break any that's expensive stuff. Okay, we take this
bill the film. We'll need more rooms soon. I've got

Oh no he's not.
Speaker 1 (09:50):

a pest, the Blue Beetles. All right, boys, over it
goes now, mister Blue Beetles, get out of that. If

by none of the beans. The Blue Beetle As the

(13:14):
a suit of impenetrable blue chain, arm of flexible assult.
What stronger than steel? Today's transcribed episode of the Fox
(13:37):
feature The Blue Beatles is the second part of a
story entitled The Wail of Pirates Polly. In the previous episode,
Petroman Dan Garrett, while engaged in running down a gang
of perfume smugglers, uncovers a clue which leads him to
the waterfront warehouse of a mister Hane van Smith her perfumes.
Also during the episode, he reads in the newspaper that
(13:59):
what a the we're to be? A large whale has
been sighted off the coasts. The Blue Beetle is convinced
that there is some connection between the smugglers and the whales.
In an effort to apprehend some of the smugglers, Dan
Garrett as the Blue Beetle days a midnight visit to
the warehouse of Van Schmidt, where he encounters the head
of the smugglers, a man named Rankin, and two thugs
(14:20):
named Frenchy and the Viper. As the episode ended, the
Blue Beetle was trapped in a net and tossed overboard.
As our story opens today, we find the Blue Beetle
sticking his head above water or a breath of air.
Aw that air feels food in my lungs. Don't relish
(14:41):
the taste of that water. Okay, one end of this
net caught on a spike. How to burn my way
out of this net with my magic ray? And now
the blue Beetle will fly again. I can't understand Zac
(15:10):
why Danny hasn't been in. He usually drops in here
at night or it is, But.
Speaker 3 (15:15):
He said something about having a day tonight.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
Oh, don't tell me.
Speaker 3 (15:18):
He's got a girl who he's old enough to have one.
Speaker 2 (15:21):
He is at bad But somehow Danny ain't much for
the ladies. Now when I was his age. Excuse me, Maigan,
there's someone out front of me. Well, well, if it
ain't the Blue Beetles himself.
Speaker 3 (15:36):
I guess it does seem to be I'm.
Speaker 2 (15:38):
Looking for then, Garrett. Now, ain't that something? Well, mister
Blue Beetle, if you will come down to police headquarters
with me, I thanks, Manigan, but I'm busy a mother time.
Come on now, and no pool and it's the law
that speaks. Why your gun and handcuffs, Managhan, I've got
important news for Garrett. There's a chance for him to
catch some smugglers. Smugglers, is it? And why won't I
(15:59):
do you a plane for? They flown him some, But
Danny's better. He's an expert all right. Then when you
see him, Ellen to be cruising around in the plane
off shore tomorrow at dusk. Ellen, the Blue Beetles says,
to be on the lookout for a strange crawler off
the coast. Ought so to keep his eyes open for
a whale.
Speaker 3 (16:29):
You sure gave Mannigan the surprise of his life last night, Jeddy,
when you appeared. It's the Blue Beatles test, didn't the
man that was past thinking on your part saying you
were looking for Dan Gabbett or Manigan.
Speaker 4 (16:39):
He'd love to arrest the Blue.
Speaker 2 (16:40):
Beetle and take him in the headquarters, Yes he would,
but he's an honest officer of the law, and he's brave. Hey, Hello,
speak of the devil in the shore of appear. Hello, Hello,
officer made Say, Danny, who do you think I was
talking to last night?
Speaker 4 (16:54):
I'm if you're the part of ancestors? I suppose are
they complaining of the heat?
Speaker 2 (16:57):
It's full of ways clutchy this day? Well, I wasn't
talking to me, dear, the part of the answers, and
it didn't hot weather, sleeping gold rectissoles.
Speaker 3 (17:06):
And with whom were you talking?
Speaker 2 (17:07):
Mike? With the blue Peters?
Speaker 4 (17:09):
Oh, you're coming around with him, are you?
Speaker 2 (17:11):
I don't be chilly. I'd have pinched him if he
hadn't give me a hot tip and a bunch of cloaks.
What did you have to say? Are you coming along
with me? And I'll tell you where are we going?
We're going for an airyplane, right? And what will we
be doing in an airyplane? We're going fishing? Fishing? Yeah,
fishing for whales. What's that streak in the water down
(17:42):
there to the left, Mike, Hell, that must be the
way the Blue Peter told me about. He's heading for
a dead man's base. Yeah, let's follow him. I have
a hunch. If we capture that whale, we'll also capture
a band of smugglers. And your hunches are usually right.
Danny work in shore. He'd run acrownd in there. I
(18:02):
don't think so. Pretty deep in that cover pirate Folly
and watched pirates varley the ruins of a castle built.
Speaker 1 (18:09):
Years ago by a pirate chief on.
Speaker 2 (18:10):
Those cliffs down there. And what we do now? You
think you can fly this plane back to the field, Yes, sir,
you take the plane in, Mike and bring a squad
out here. Well, what are you going to do and
a bail out with my parachute? Yes, put your labor
to be killed on them rocks below. Have the chance,
I'll have to take Mike along if it's gonna be
a wail of a job. If it turns out the
(18:32):
way I think it will, Hm, these ruins would make
an excellent hideout for smugglers natal caves and stone passages.
(18:56):
I'll chance my flesh life. Well, this is a surprise,
A mammoth's cave with a lake in the center, under
the ruins of pirates folly.
Speaker 4 (19:07):
This is the smuggler's hide out, all right, here's cases
of bottles and large flagons of perfume filed high against
the walls. Those must be barrels of oil and gasoline
over there, or a plate mm water tastes. They's slowly.
This lake must have been underground output of the sea,
because there are marks of the tide.
Speaker 3 (19:28):
And the beach there.
Speaker 4 (19:30):
Uh huh, there's a ripple on the water. It looks
as if old mister Hoyle has come to rest.
Speaker 2 (19:36):
He's coming of the surface.
Speaker 4 (19:40):
Uh rep as I suspect of the small submarine of
the searchlight.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
On its nose.
Speaker 2 (19:44):
That's a whale that follows incoming shifts and gobbles up
whatever's thrown overboard.
Speaker 4 (19:48):
A very ingenious device for landing contraband cargo.
Speaker 2 (19:52):
Ah, they're opening the conning tower. Now here comes a showdown.
I'll just undersper the captain this parrel of gasoline in
case of an emergen see my gallans. We won't be
taking little high eyes.
Speaker 1 (20:05):
It look it's the blue beaver.
Speaker 2 (20:08):
Can't the blue beetle's dead? Ben say that's what you think, Rancin.
It'll take more than you and your thugs to drown
the blue beetle. Papers the machine. I wouldn't advise using
that rankings as catoline and oil, and these barrels here,
if I should up pet one of them, this lake
of water would become a lake of fire with one
(20:28):
blast of my magic ray, Your suffing blue beetles, you
wouldn't there good because you forget ranking. I'm at the
only exit left except the underground tunnel of the seas.
Your little submarine is grounded. Now say blue BetUS your
cat win think so make one false move and see
what happens. The police will be here shortly, and you
(20:51):
and your getting of smugglers will be on your way
to jails. You will fifty chanots. I don't like. I
don't like that lot beg I'm telling you ask for
here goes.
Speaker 1 (21:08):
Right.
Speaker 2 (21:11):
I will teach you not the doctor word of the
blue people there?
Speaker 1 (21:15):
What would be your for?
Speaker 2 (21:16):
The fire is coming out to the bat as a
happy lisnas of all the reader.
Speaker 1 (21:22):
The fire burns out.
Speaker 2 (21:23):
Oh great post off my father horse he brought them
on all. Now you down. You don't pass me of
a horse. I've got that gun and I'm gonna use it.
I'm no, I'm running.
Speaker 5 (21:39):
That's Ooh what happened then?
Speaker 2 (21:55):
Deny? Well, Fortunately the pharao of gasoline I m told
instead of fire, burnt on the surface of the water
without setting the other barrel to fire.
Speaker 4 (22:03):
But it burned long enough to keep the viper trapped
until Manigan and the other arrived.
Speaker 2 (22:07):
They arrested the viper and confiscated the cargo of the submarine.
Speaker 3 (22:11):
What about Rankin and Frenchy dead, both shot by the
viper and Hans van Smith he's in jail. Well, how
did you? As the Blue Beetle managed to escape Officer
Mannigan and the other police officers. I managed to reach
the surface and put my police uniform back on over
my Blue Beetle costume before they arrived. It certainly was
a thrilling experience, as it was.
Speaker 2 (22:32):
Doc the Gulco rather tough on Ben Schmidt. He were
the respectable businessman until he got involved with Rankin.
Speaker 1 (22:39):
Yes, oh, excuse me, Danny Hey?
Speaker 4 (22:44):
No?
Speaker 3 (22:45):
Oh, yes, yes Mannigan all right, all right, I'll tell
him goodbye. Oh it's Danny, Mike, Mannigan says. The Commissioner
wants to see you both first thing in the morning.
Speaker 2 (22:57):
Ah, that's fine. Maybe you'll have a new assign for
the Blue Beetles. And so the Blue Beetle chalks up
(23:18):
another victory in his crusade against crime. The moral of
this story is evil companions can bring honest men to disaster.
Choose your friends and companions wisely. What new adventures await
the Blue Beetle in his next campaign against the forces
of evil. This question will be answered in the next
