Oh, yes, Lisa was inductedinto the Jedi Praxium Jedi Conclave.
Hooray, hooray. Yeah, yes, I was I was fortunate enough to
end up talking to Matt a coupleof months back, actually last year I
suppose now you can say, andJoe had referred him to me to try

to get involved in what he wasdoing with these uh with the Star Wars
fan club that he has, andhe's got quite a large following on what
the reddit reddit discord for the conclave, and after after getting involved with him
on the board, it's just weneeded, we needed other people, and
Lisa was perfect for that, andshe happily came on board. And now

there is there's just that much moredirection and focus in the group. She's
been a wonderful asset as far asmoving things forward, yes, very one
more professional mind. The group isincredibly put together and focused on on accomplishing
the one goal that I think thata lot of people have been waiting for

for years since at least twenty fourteen, and that will be a a what

A Star Wars legends only convention?Whoo whoo oh, three guys,

gonna be pretty exciting. Like we'vegot some events planned, some certain panels,

now. So The Courtship of PrincessLeiah So written by Dave Woolburton and released
in nineteen ninety four. The storyessentially it starts in eight B A B
Y. My apologies, um,just to like talk about some notable events
that happened in that same year.So we had the back to war began

an end um. We get thebooks that Xuing Iron Fists and Exteing Soil
Command and guys, of course we'regoing to finish the Xwing series. I
swear we're getting into it. Theycan tell that we're not trying to go
finish that book. They look they'relike, they're like, it's been all
this time, and they're they're Okay, I love Davel Olverton, but where's

the rest of X WIN. Iknow, I'm so bad. I'm so
sorry, like a year ago thatI swear I think it was exactly a
year ago now, Oh my goodness. Yeah, actually just go on so
other things that happened in eight AB Y. So we also get the

book Tattooing Ghosts, which happens afterthis story of course by Troy Denning,
and then Thrown starts his return fromthe Unknown Regions exactly, so getting actually
into the story itself. So wekind of start off with, you know,
returning to core Son Han on boardof a mare culumary ship, the

man Ramada, and when it comesout of hyperspace, he's like suddenly shocked
to see that there's like all theselike amazingly beautiful, crazy big ships surrounding
chorus On and he's like, oh, no, we're being attacked by Haypens.
And of course they're they're not.They're friendlies. And you know,
I don't know why he had toassume they're getting attacked, but they're not.

So let's Kyle, if you wantto talk a little bit about a
Hape's haypen culture or like what yourimmediate thoughts are of about haypen culture in
general are in context of the novel. No, Well, I mean I
can imagine Han feeling pretty out ofplace. I mean, you know,

being being his uh, his roguishjust kind of I don't give it down
kind of attitude. Yea, whenwhen you meet a culture of subservient men
and mature elk matrio arcle ladies,um, women Okay, Okay, my

mom beat me right, So Istill say ladies, but women as well,
um, And I guess you can'tsay ladies anymore maybe that's not PC.
I don't know, I'm old,um, but I can imagine,
like his his initial thoughts on onmeeting these folks. I can imagine where
he was at. Yeah, it'sprobably feeling very out of character. Yeah.

So, like Han's been away basicallythe last five months and he's been
chasing the Imperial Warlord. So I'vebeen saying ZINGI only because I've been exaggerating
the jay. It just makes senseto me when I look at the entomology
of the word. So I apologizeif you guys say zing but I like
ZINGI. I don't know, it'sbeen common, common debate over many years.

I think it was cleared up inan audiobook, but people still say
it one way or the other.Oh okay, well this was my instinct,
so yeah, exactly. Um,So what happens when he basically he
goes down onto the world being like, oh, that was kind of a
close call, nothing really happened,and receives a call from Ambassador Leia,

and you know, they're like,oh, I miss you and miss you
two and everything like that, andshe invites him to go to the Grand
Reception Hall. And at the GrandReception Hall, you know, it's like
this glorious entourage of all the hypeand um you know women and then whatever
male guards whatever they use them for. And there they start to give them

all kinds of things. Yeah,like we don't have to imply everything,
but it's off. But like theystart giving Leia, like presenting her all
these gifts, so like one foreach world of the hype and system,
so like sixty three gifts for thesixty secret world. So the first one
is like the rainbow gens from Gallanorum, the Whissen tree from Syllab, and

the gun of Command from Charuba.The rainbow gems like no, they're actually
not gems. They're actually like alife form that just kind of glows for
a thousand year. And then thegun of Command will kind of play an
important role in the story all bitbriefly, and it takes like a good
hour for like all the Haypens topresent all the stuff to La and LEAs

just sitting there like a thanks forall your gifts. But like the real
point of like why the Haypen culturewas here suddenly certain nut culture they battle
fleet and fleet in general, wasthat they were there to give themselves back
to the New Republic essentially in quotationsas I say that. So they've been

isolated from the Republic for the lastthree thousand years. They've been off to
themselves, not wanting to do withanything, obviously not part of any the
rebels of their empire and things likethat. Do you know, Kyle,
how they were able to survive solong against the Empire? Was it because
they were such a strong society orit was just nothing was ever written to

it. Essentially, I'm sorry forthe death Mary for the Hans. I'm
sorry. I was literally just readinga note and Hapes was self sufficient.
Yeah, but I mean, likethe Empire never tried to invade them or
anything like that. From our knowledge, I believe it was their location because

they had the transitory mists. Okay, yeah, I'm I'm pretty sure that
that it was because, like youknow, I'm not the cartographer of the
group of my Star Wars folk,you know, but I noted it because
of their position, the Hapes consortionwas always able to stand alone. Uh,
they're they're kind of again. Ithink I think it's more than sixty

three two. I'm pretty sure it'slike one hundred and fifty something as far
as worlds of of hapes. Okay, so yeah, but I think it's
all separated and whatnot as far astheir their dynasties within it. Yeah,
I don't mean to misspeak on that, but yeah, and they they were

able to to privatize so much ofit too. There it's just a separate
empire. It's almost like, uh, you know, the regions of wild
space and whatnot, how all that'sdivided out. And they were able to
the empire sure, like you know, of course it was conquering and conquering
and conquering, but they were stilljust they're still just people, right,
and and they only got so muchof the uh, the galaxy. Like
it's always it's always a misconception thatthe empire took over and everything because they

didn't. They had like a greatdeal of the tingle arm you know,
all kinds of like geographical swaths,but the Hypes Consortium was you know,
again, they were self sufficient.They weren't about it's a civilization is so
far away from the core and everythingthat it's like, you know, like
come at me, bro, like, okay, we're not all your bodies

just floating around next door, likewe have our own, our own navy,
like they're very well established militarily,and then generations of wealth and money
too, like they are wealthy,So that's that's part of it too,
is like you know, and Ithink that was the whole design that that
Wolverton was going for. Is justlike you know, it's almost like a

in no shape or form. I'mjust using a general comparison, but like
the Elvin you know, world ofLord of the Rings, like how they're
just kind of stand apart. AndI think that's the easiest way to generalize,
like the Hypno Consortium, because Ihear a lot of questions about them.
Yeah, and it's like, well, if you can kind of imagine
that, it's just uh, youknow, how do you how do you
describe royal pirates? Right, Sothey're like, oh, so I think

what the reality is. It's likebecause they're all female, that they're just
so efficient and actually got the jobdone for once come at me. But
present number sixty three, of course, is what kicks off this whole story,
and it is the Chumda himself,Prince Isldore, and like the whole

basically like the Grand Reception Hole,like erupts him, like what's going on?
Like this, look at this handsome, ridiculously handsome man. Let's let's
be real now presenting himself to Leiahsaying like let's get married and poor ha,
and you know he's witnessing this withlike mom motha like and you know
he was not happy about the situationthe first place, kind of thinking something
was up. And then you know, of course they want Leah and like

LA's very diplomatic in this situation whereshe's like, you need to kind of
give me thirty days to decide.You know, she's a politician, she's
a princess. She kind of knowshow to handle it and isledore himself.
He's very swav kind, I finda lot of the times, and just
always very nice with how he responds. And it's it's understanding because first of

all, she's never met him inhis life, and you can't just expect
someone to get well. I meansome cultures do, oh yeah, but
I mean that is a huge thingto expect someone immediately that will will sign
up. But of course, youknow, he's pretty handsome, so she
starts to get tempted, and that'sthe problem of the whole situation like the

love triangle that is going to form. But she does invite him to go
to dinner, which is like allother Star Wars dinners, they tend to
be like at an interesting event,a little bit of drama, of course.
But I love the scene where Hanis aboard So Han's aboard the Rebel

Dream, which is Laya's flagship withthe falcon. He's doing some work on
it and things like that, andwho happens to walk by, But like
Prince Isseldor now that he's getting atour of la personal ship by the President's
threckned Horm of the the Storry,the president of the Alderinian Council, and
Han and Isladore have this little momentof like, oh yeah, yeah,

I know, Leiah, yeah,but it's because we're lovers, and like
Han flat out says that, andit's just like, oh my god,
please ignore this crazy man, likewe need to run away, like and
like Isseldore's credit, like he's prettykind in the reaction. He's just like,

well, I understand, you know, like she's a beautiful woman,
Um, why wouldn't you be inlove? And you're obviously going to fight
for the woman you you care forand here I am, so what are
you gonna do? What was yourthoughts about this? I think that he
had to There's it's so Han Soloto just you know that smirk. You

can see it on his face.When is the moment you know, his
his his whole face like they toHarrison Ford's you know face just like drops
like when he's dumbfounded. It's justlike he had to put that in there.
And I like how it's all youknow, they could have been,
They could have chosen a lot ofdifferent words. I feel that that's one

of the most powerful statements in thebook. Yeah, yeah, it kind
of sets the tone for everything.And yeah, I think to his choice
because I always maybe it's just personallyme, but I always thought the word
lover when you're referring to it's alwaysjust so dated and so like almost naturally
sarcastic, and then coming from HanSolo, it was kind of spot on.

Yeah exactly. Yeah, like there'sthings that are very hand in this
book, and then there's other thingsthat aren't quite hand that will happen.
But so I like when Nisseledoor thenoffers Han, He's like, you know
what, how about you fly awayfrom here, very far away if I
give you one of my like thebattle dragons. So and of course Han's

like, yeah, no deal,see you later at dinner. Basically,
poor laa like, I don't knowwhy she would. So when you involve
yourself guys in a love triangle,advice is don't put them in the same
room together ever, personal experience speaking, but in Leia's staterooms. So when

they're having the dinner, you know, everything's kind of like sort of okay,
but then Hans shows up late andI love this moment where like freckum
and it's like, oh, they'vealready met, and lay I was like,
oh, tell me, how didyou meet? What what happened?
Would you guys talk about Hans?Like yeah, maybe maybe let's not talk
about that exactly. Move on,But we do get some interesting history of

the Haypen culture at this point.So we learned that they were the world
like the whole system was settled bythe Laurell pirates and they were these kind
of like schemy ikey pirates who wentaround and still beautiful women and made them
their prizes and mates and disgusting veryrich pirates like yeah, pretty much,

and then any of the male offspringthey would just kind of induct to be
pirates and continue their like rating andstuff like that. But then all the
females left behind obviously were you know, independent and living in society where there
was virtually no men because they're alloff pirates. At one point, the
Jedi said enough is enough and theneliminated the threat of the pirates and the

men didn't come home, So thewomen basically took over at that point in
society, which led to their verystrong ethics of like how they can control
men and things like that. Sobasically they've treated then similarly to the other
culture. We're in a city inthis book, which is kind of interesting

that he puts again those two matrioticalsocieties and created both of them and noticed
the lack of zabrack. Yeah,yeah, that's something to talk about later.
Okay, So he does finally revealthe reason why he wants to get

married to Leah, and it's kindof lame. He's just like, well,
I saw you when you were inlike you know, when you're visiting
and you're talking to my mother andyou're the garden. You just look so
lovely and I just fell in lovewith you, and that's why I want
to get married. Because like Hansquestion too, Isador was like, why
do you want to marry Leia?Like there's so many other princesses in the
galaxy of billions of worlds and peopleor maybe not worlds but people. Why

Leia? And that's that's what itis. He was just awestrucked by While
I can't blame him, and Idon't think he loses any of that um
he's you know, we can't lookat him like the bad guy, even
though we're all like come on,man, but like you know, trying
to move in on on Sci Fi'shottest couple here, but um, but

he keeps that that sense of umevery man, that sense of just just
trying to follow his heart. Youknow, he keeps that all through through
Legacy of the Forest too. AndI'm sorry, like for for anyone who's
read those that those novels. AllI can see after revisiting this is like
what happened to him. It's soyou know, once once you go to

one end to the other of theEU, you're like, oh, it's
all one big yeah huzzle piece here, and you're like Oh my god.
Oh he was so sweet back then. In your mind it turns to back
then, you know, yeah,he just was, and it's it's so
nice to see him. Um,you know, debut even though yeah,

debuted what twenty what twenty six yearsago? Oh god, I don't want
to do bad right now. I'mpretty sure this book was this book was
what year? All right, sotwenty eight years ago? Oh we're old?

guys. Oh we're in our thirtiesbooks. We're old. So at least
the dinner kind of ends like sortof okay, and it wasn't like too
awkward, but they do both likekiss her goodbye, and then Han declares
to list or like I'm going tofight for her, and it was just
like I expect you to. Maybethat's my win. You know, you

can just see him at the tablein these scenes, you know exactly,
like, go on, so Leiain result, you know, now she's
in this position like and we finallygot her first perspective of this moment of
like she's up all night thinking aboutthings, and what she needs to do
is call her brother. So shecalls Luke over hollow, and he's been

in the Tula system and he's beeninvestigating you know, some more leads into
you know, finding her information aboutthe Jedi. He went to a ruined
temple and it had been ravaged bypreviously, like he believed most likely Vader
as there had been a confrontation withthe Jedi who had been living there,
and the Lightsaber was still like onthe ground. He does find like a

little hollow kind of recording of Yodaabout four hundred years before or three hundred
and four hundred years and Yoda talksabout how they were you know, basically
repelled from by Dathamir and you know, something et cetera about the kuanthor so
Luke has this like of like,what's datham here? So when Leah and

him talk, he asked her like, hey, have you heard of this
world? And she's like, so, you know again, like this is
the first time we ever have dathem Here into in Star Wars, So
obviously we don't have any other literatureat this point that you know, the
characters would know about this world.Yeah, and what a good name,

by the way, datham Here.I always thought that was metal as hell
and just a pause for that,you know, the little things, because
we're i mean, we're so usedto it. Dathm here is such a
huge part of Star Wars, butit really was the debut exactly. Yeah,
well that's why it's so cool thatit happened to be like in the

same book where Hapes was debuted.Mhmm. And we're kind of all right,
before I digress, you go on, you go on, you say
what you want to say. Well, I mean, when we're reading this,
especially if this isn't your first goin the EU, you know,
if you if you happen to knowwhat goes down at the end, you're
like, okay, well, thisis the beginning of all of the true

Star Wars dynasties to play out overdecades, because by the end of it
all, you have that the Haypenand dathamery, you know, bloodlines,
involved with the Skywalkers, involved withthe Fells, you know. Yeah,
and it just it goes on andon, and it's like, you know,
so you get you get all themajor quadrants of what's left of the

galaxy by that point in time.Um, and this is the beginning of
it all. And that I mean, that's like kind of the underscore,
the underpin if you would have,of this novel is that it's actually the
start of so much. You know, everybody, everybody gives on the credit
for starting things, but it's justlike, really, this is something we
built off right here. Yeah,exactly. So continuing on with Hannah,

Leiah, and Luke, they doagree that they're going to meet up in
about four days in the Rash system, since Leiah has a mission that she's
going to be going to Rash.Basically what has been going on is the
Verbine and the Barabels have been havingsome little dramatic issues, and the Barabels
have started eating them openly. Yeah. I was laughed there. You know,

like when I saw Baronbells mentioned,I was very much like, are
we going to get Sabba in thisbook? And I was like really excited,
but that she wasn't here, SoI was like, oh, now
that's a complete Jo Wild Nights kindof set up, you know. Thank
you, Troy Denning. Yeah,well, I mean, yeah, thank

you, Troy. I love Saba. She's one of the best characters.
We give you so much, wegive you so many problems, Troy.

next morning, Hans shows up tosee Leah again and like she says this
slime to him, which like it'sjust starting to kind of dawn on him,
and now with the prospect of anotherman in her life like that,

she's going to leave him, andlike she says, like you are going
to give up? Are you?And she's like, you know, you're
jealous and he's like, I'm notjealous. And then but he does call
Isador slime and which is really funny, and she's like he's not slime,
Like how is he slime? Youknow, like obviously He's like I don't
know, I just got this vibeof look at him, Like he just
gives off this impression of being slimy, like and I hang out with slimy

people, so I would know that, and you know, like and she's
like, why don't you just takethat battle dragon and leave? And he's
not really happy about this fact thatyou know, they're they're trying to fight,
but it's interrupted when calls there there'sa cancel and all this blast,
so Han storms out and nothing reallyhappens with that, like their conversation,

but Hans like, hey, Ihave to get serious and I am going
to put the falcon up for collateraland joins the Seback tournament game, which

where like Han isn't really doing well, but then suddenly like he actually starts.

he goes like toe to toe againstOmog and it gets interesting, and you
know, she starts putting like moreand more on the table and he's up.
He has like over eight hundred millioncredits, stocks and deeds that he's
been winning. And then she betsa planet and that's what he once at
this time, it's like he's tryingto win a planet for Leia and win

a planet so that she can havea place to put the people from Aldern
who have been displaced for all theseyears because of the Death Star and things
like that. So you know,it's it's very romantic the fact that he
wins her a world and then givesit to her. I don't know,
I thought it was super romantic.I don't know what you thought about it.

It was it was you know thatDave took his time trying to put
together something that would make sense,and it's just like, okay, well
we have it's a Star Wars book, so we have to have a gambling
game with Han Solo and it's gottabe you know, something with the Falcon

couldn't just get? What can yougive the Chosen One's daughter? Yeah?

a lot of people hope and contextand really made that eu H come to

and gross because he's been up allnight in a casino, so I imagine
he's had a lot of booze too, and you know, like whiskey sweats.
And he's like, okay, Iknow I wanted from a Jack Marion
and she's like, well, where'sthis planet? I've never heard of death
Mirror And then she's kind of likewhere did I hear this name? You
know, it's only been like halfa day. You think she would remember

that. Her brother asked her thatand she They put in the coordinates and
they're like, oh, that's inthe Kelly sector, the Quality sector.
That's Warlord Zinji's territory. And nicetry Han, you know, just a
little like kissing the treat cheek andpat on the butt and sends him on
the way, and Hans immediately likewhat what just happened? Like I expected

Leah to kind of like fall intomy arms lovingly, and you know that
I won her a world, butit's just kind of like she treated me
like a child basically. Yeah,And there's those moments when you're like,
perhaps both characters were written slightly outof character for the sake of a story.

bit, because I don't know thelad that we know. I mean,
you wouldn't think. But then again, we're only getting from one perspective,

when you're not in love with someoneand they're so desperately in love with you,

hateen males, which obviously kind ofputs in the perspective that it's most likely
someone who's hap and trying to killeither Leia or Because we don't know who
the target is, he assumes it'sLeia as it is in reality, and
you know, is it or Kicks, but like in this situation and he
I don't really recall exactly because thissounded really horrible, but he kind of

gets this guy's face melted, andthen the man is just kind of like
the assassin is like, you know, please just shoot me, Please just
shoot me, and Islador's like tellme who sent you? And then you
know, the guy just take agun and shoots himself in the face because
obviously, yeah, he can't standup being handsome anymore. And then like
Leiah has this moment with Isadore andand he's like, just come with me

to Hapes and she's like, yes, I'll come with you. And I
don't know about you, but Ikind of felt like it was a little
bit like hero worship in that moment, if like you know when someone when
you go through something traumatic, likeyou you glum onto that person you went

she doesn't. She doesn't say anythingback, thankfully, but you know,
she doesn't say like ha ha,that's crazy. We've only known each other

for like half a day. Youjust get that Carrie Fisher stare yep exactly,
which is mostly inside screaming yeah,especially we know that now exactly.
So she calls Han, and Hansflying around in the falcon he's doing some

you're going to do this and Ican definitely try to imagine it at the
point when people were receiving this kindof book too for the first time,

this this relationship, it had toit had to have legitimate passion, and
you know, for us to believethat they're that they're like this strong,
they had to like come to thispoint that they even they turned into domestic
violence, like that's that's real stuff, And and it conveys exactly how much

desperation and brutish behavior. Um itis. And it's also I mean

and isseldor, like they're definitely afterLeia for obvious reasons, and and of

he's heading to dath in here,And when Leah's banging on the compartments,

Leia's like, I'm going to killhim, obviously rightly so and the Hans
just like, oh you did hearthat something like to Chewy and like doesn't
even say like hey, Leia,sorry I locked you up, and like
was just casually flying drifting list youknow, to the left. It just
doesn't even like turn around to lookat her. She's like, you kidnapped

me, Like what's your deal?Basically, and then he kind of negotiates
this deal like with her being like, if you don't fall in love with
me in seven days, I'll bringyou back and you'll like never see me
again. But if you do fallin love with me seven days, we're
gonna get married again. Very extremereaction to getting someone to stay with you.

Don't listeners, don't ever do that. Yeah, like I never work,
it will ever work. So yeah, pretty sure it's going to blow
up in your face. Absolutely.Yeah, think of what happened in this
story, that'll probably be similar.So like four days and four nights basically

like work in there, like he'scooking stuff. You know, he's making

shells and like it it seems nice. And Leah's just not having any of

at the same time, he's justlike Hey, Like, I don't know
why you can't warm up to mea little bit. And she's like,
well, you've you've sullied your reputation, like you don't know what you've done,

you will never be able to goback done? Yeah can you still hear

Yeah. So well, when theyfinally arrive at dathamir Lo and behold,

it's not like the peaceful world thatHan was envisioning with beaches and beauty,
but it's the fact it's a shipyardfor Xinji's of late and he's just
like, oh shoot, so yeah, there's like thousands of ships like little
barges, there's star destroyers. There'seven like a superstar destroyer. And Hans

like, okay, we're we're ina little bit of trouble. Like let's
try to get them the charts upto the Otega Star System. And immediately
they're they're noticed, and Han triesto like you know, pretend his way
out of there, just saying likewe're inspectors, you know, the typical

start shooting on them and they getdamaged enough that they are forced below Luke

and Isldore. So there's been akind of like a little change with the
story where Luke actually pairs up withIsadore. So Luke at this part of
the story, he's trying to trackdown what's happened to Han, and he
will eventually pair up with Iseldor.And when Luke goes to Han's apartment,
he senses the fear and the dreadand the horror and the desperation from Hans
Pillow itself, and he actually goesdown through the streets of Chorus On following

these feelings, which is really cool. I thought that was a really neat
part in the story. And ittracks him down into this into the casino
and he's actually able to find Ohmogthe Jack Marion, but she's being tortured
by these these men who he doesn'tknow, and they're like trying to take

off her helmet because there she's amethane breather so obviously, you know,
like would die immediately, and Lukesaid, you need to stop that,
you know, like what are youdoing? And they're like, oh,
you know, awkward cough kind ofthing, and they call for backup,
and who shows up but Ta Chum, the Hape and Queen Mother herself.

And Luke's like, what's going onand she's like, oh, I never
gave these orders. Well, thesemen will be destroyed basically like fools,
And Luke's like, yeah, Ihighly doubt you're gonna do that, but
sure introduce the Devil. Yeah that'sHue. Like I like her character.
Well, what I knew about herwas like New Jedi Order related yea,

And obviously my first connection with Tenanilwas her getting murdered by Tattoo. So
right, yeah, it's kind ofsad. It's like, all poor tunel
Car. Yeah, yeah, Ijust took out your MoMA Dukes. Yeah,
like yeah, your grandmother killed yourown mother. That's great. Yeah,

spoilers, guys, but obviously youknow, yeah, back to that,
you know, even though it's it'sthis royal facade, everybody's got those
weird, eccentric oddity parts of theirculture that we see on Earth today.

you the information where Han went.And then Luke's like, okay, don't

say it all loud and just thinkin your mind and I'll get the information.
So she provides that information that it'sdath Emir, but tat Chum She's
like, well, I already knowit's dath Emir because I've been doing my
own investigation. So Luke was like, oh, oh, okay, yeah.
She invites them to dinner, whichis kind of funny. It's like
again one of those typical Star Warsscenes where like they got to have their

(56:29):
dinners and be kind of awkward,you know, Like I like when Luke's
like, hey, can you liketake off your veil because she's obviously hitting
on him the whole time, andthen Isseledor's like, oh, he's not
really falling into it. But thenwhen he says, like, take off
your veil, and she reveals,like how like her beauty behind this veil,
But it's mostly not to see likethe fact that she's really stunning.

It's the fact that he's trying toread her emotions and read the truth is
in her face. And you know, Luke has a lot of suspicions of
this woman, rightly so, becauseshe's extremely dangerous. Yep, Like I
I can't think of a more dangerouscharacter, um off the top of my
head than her. Like she killsfamily, no problem, Yeah, as

if it laya grass. Yeah,you know, and I love that we
get her in this book, inher development. You mentioned her in the
NJO, Yeah, and we didn'treally see it coming yet exactly how important
she's going to be. And youknow, because she's she's she's in some

of the most crucial points of theof the history in the future. Yeah.
Hm. So the moment when theFalcon is like descending into dath and
Earth, that's actually when Luke andIsladore when they teamed up. They see
this happening, and Led is like, did we just get here in time

to watch Lead die? Which isyou know, pretty sad moment. They
hop out into their own ships individualstarfighters, and Luke is immediately having ship
problems, and then something happens andthis is like he died. Luke just
died in front of me. Whatam I going to do? So he
decided, you know, he's watchingLuke's X wing. I'm assuming it's next

wing like go down into the intothe planet. So he does his own
planet fall by pretending that he's beenhit as well by Zenji's forces and puts
like the the aluminum foil blanket overhim to kind of disguise the fact that
you know, the body heats dropping, etc. And they are able to
safely sort of crash and Isador isable to land when they arrive onto the

world, So they do encounter theblue desert people. What is your thoughts
on the other species that we getto see in the story, Like,
it's very brief that we only seethem, Like I thought maybe for a
moment we get a little bit morelike maybe something into the plot, but
it was just kind of like aconvenient way for them to get across the
desert. I think that that waskind of the literary device at the time.

they they've had damage to the ships. They can't go anywhere, like the

they are tracked down on two occasions. So one they were able to like
flee like an Imperial walker that they'relike, oh my goodness, let's get
out here. The second time theyare captured by four walkers and marched into
the jungle, and after a couplehours of walking, you know, it

seems like the walkers are like shiningtheir lights from like side to side of
the trail and kind of paranoid andlike lay on Han or like I wonder
why they're so concerned. And like, one thing to note was when they
were crashing the falcon, Leah feltimmense fhere and it wasn't from the fact

that we're getting attacked by the Imperials. It's the fact that she felt the
dark side onto Afo mirror. Andyou know, we get a lot of
that from the characters we're gonna soonmeet. So the Walkers are very quickly
attacked by these these women on rancors, and like, what a sight to
see, Like, you know,like rancors, not just like a naturally

wild rancors. This is a coordinatedrancorps who has its own weapons and has
its own understanding and can communicate withits own riders. And you know,
it's kind of like that the Tuscanswith the Banthos, but yet way more
cool, Like they're witches on rancors. Like, how could you not have

an army of these? I'm notkicked butt throughout the galaxy, I don't
know. Yeah, And it wassuch a cool you know, for again,
from what we got back then,it's like oh, another uh,
you know, group of force users. But you know, and then and

up the ante as far as definingcool, you know, yeah, exactly,
yeah, like, oh, somesome hot babes. I'm riding my
favorite part of Return of the Jediout there, and it's pretty awesome.
They would just look at you andhog tie you and throw them you over

get in, but it's all perfectlysealed up. And immediately he gets attacked

by a lone female and when hekind of gets his lightsaber and knocked out
of his hand and he pulls itback up, she stops and like what
what has happened? Who are you? Like? What did you just do?
And in the woman she assumes thathe's a male witch or what they
call a ji. You know,you obviously get a little bit of the
entomology of Jedi coming into that,and she's just like well, you know,

make you my husband, were wouldhave great babies, Thank you very much,
You're coming with me. All thosethose silly night sisters, right,
So you know what, Luke hadto be tempted a little bit with that

other group of like nine women showup in cloaks and when this one which
was coming to get Han, thesenine women start talking to Han being like,
hey, where's your ship? Tellus where your ship is, and
the other witches like, don't tellthem anything, and he's like, well,
why aren't you guys all together?And it's clearly they're not because this
other group of nine women are NightSisters and they've come to claim the prisoners

that have been stolen for them.And it turns out all the imperials that
are on world belong now to theNight Sisters and are under their control.
And since there's no way off theworld, these men are basically stuck being
employed by the Night Sisters. Yeahnot Zabrak. Yeah not Zabrak. There's
no Zabraks that appear in this story. Sam. So when they go up

into the fortress to to talk toAgwin, who is the clan leader,
and Leah's dressed as a witch,and Han's like, oh, okay,
what has happened. I've only beengoing like down here for an hour,
and you know, they say like, I'm sorry, we're not going to
hand over um this man because hesaved this Night's or one of our witches.

So he's won his freedom and they'relike, we don't believe you,
like lies, like we don't knowwho that woman is. Like they're like
no, no, we assure youthat tender ak Leia has been part of
us for like a while. Soright, yeah, so this woman too.
Yeah. So Britha the Witch likethe Nice Sisters, like she's pissed

and she sends a message over somethingwhat's known as um ascending. So this
is kind of a cool thing thatwe get to see from the Witch's magic
is they're able to just like talklike a text message or a voice recording
and I'll like the other person wouldhear it, and they could be like
half a planet away and we'll stillget the message. So she sends a

message to Gazarian, who is theleader of the Night Sisters over the Wind,
that you know that Han Solo ishere and that we will get blood
and we'll come back for it.And everyone's like wow, good thing gets
there and wants you alive. Han, consider yourself lucky, and he's like,
uh, okay, I don't know, great, yeah exactly. So

back to Tenannil d Joe and LukeIslore and are two. So when they're
trucking back towards also the Singing amountof Clan village. They Tenniel realizes that
they're being hunted at this point bythe Night Sisters and they can sense her
and they can sense Luke. Soshe's like, you know, I don't

know, like we're not a matchfor a bunch of Night Sisters because they
are going to try to kill us. And Luke suggests, like, let's
like free me and I won't runaway, like and like, and he
promises, and so what they dois they run off together and leave Isldore
in our two so that the KnightSisters track them. And when they fight
them and are attacked finally by theNight Sisters in the storm, Luke beheads

her. Yeah. Yeah, Ilove that Luke. Like, you know,
he doesn't know, he's not alwayslike that, but sometimes he's just
like nope and just no quarter,lady Ria. Sometimes he just takes call
yeah, lady Ria exactly, likeyeah, there's no monologuing here, guys.

He just straight up the kills her. Yeah, no apps given.
Yeah, and like the purple flameslike arept from her body and it's like
the dark side power like being releasedinto the world, you know, and
Unfortunately ten of neils, like shewas injured. So he takes to this
cave couldvenially located and it was likea sanctified cave, you know, from

witches of the past, so theywere safe there, and she rests and
she has these dreams and you know, like up like children, all this
kind of stuff, and when shewakes up healed in a sort of a
way. Her scars are hot totouch because like Luke's actually kind of healed
her, and she's shocked though,like he could do this. He can

do his powers without actually using words, and that's kind of what's interesting with
their culture and what's unique about themis they have to talk in order to
perform their magic. And Luke's like, no, what you're doing is you're
using the force. You're just usingwords, and you think you need those
words, but you can still doyour actions without them, So like that's

kind of like an interesting thing forher, where like she's going to try
to learn how to do that,but you know, it is not very
successful. And we do get somecool history of the Night Sisters at this
point, so we find out thatthey were they came from the old Ones,
you know, as as the legendgoes from from the stars and they

and this group of people had wellI'm sure you know a lot more than
I can say right now, butbut they had built forbidden weapons, so
they were you know, building likedroids and things like that. So they
basically were being punished for the grosscrimes that they committed through the technology,

and that's why they were dumped ontothis world that had no technology and had
no way of getting there and punished. And in result, the population was
obviously like destroyed by the Rancors andthe fact that they lived in a middle
of nowhere, so they had noweapons, no technology, and these rancors
everywhere. So yeah, they hada little bit of problem, of course,

until Aliah arrives and Aaliyah is basicallythe kind of first descendant of the
witches, and she's actually a castout Jedi, And Kyle, I'd like
to hear your opinion of what youthink of what kind of the like the
failings of the Jedi in this situation, because they took this woman cast are

out, but they cast it hereout knowingly onto a world that was used
for prisoners, and it's like,well, you you basically set her up
to breed with prisoners. Yeah,and look what happened and result like you
got the night, you got witches, And that's just it. I mean,
you know, I think it's it'sgood because there's always that constant um

anti Jedi dog mount that we see, and we see a lot from from
commoners. We see out a lotfrom people who aren't necessarily in the know.
Yeah, whenever we're reading, itdoesn't really matter what book it is,
there always seems to be something somewhereum and and there you go,
those are the reasons, yeah,that that there there really has been some

very fed up situations that the Jedihave signed off for. And you know,
we're always when when we're in theprequel era, we can see it,
you know as far as like youknow, visually cinematically and all that,
we understand that a lot of thingsare they look one way and they
actually are are not that way atall, and there's decisions that are made

that are very tough, and andwe like to think that the Jedi all
have like a good place that they'recoming from and and that they're right.
That's that's the thing, right,we want to think that they are.
But really though that just when youframe the situation differently, like how you

and like their problem is like obviouslythey don't understand emotions correctly, and
so their judgment is clouded because theydon't know what the outcome is going to
be. And they didn't expect Hernto breed with these like prison barbarians.

her daughters that really had magic,and like there maybe there were some male
to have it, but she encouragedthe females to be successful. And I

and clans of women who are sostrong and so powerful that they're like,
we can't give these women ships becausethey're going to rehab it in the system.

is going to happen with these children, and they all turned into witches.

Leah the character, she actually kindof hinted a little bit into other stories,
so we do learn a little bitabout her and the last SHEDI she's
just like noted basically by Michael Reevewhich came out in twenty thirteen, and

I don't know if you've happened tohave read that short story. It's been

a hot minute. Yeah. Soit's it's basically the events of when Maul
when he's fifteen years old and whenhe finally meets mother Towson because she comes
looking for him. So the storyis he's been training at this one academy
and it's kind of like an academyfor like assassins and and we'll like anyone

who goined that. But there's noforce users there, so Maula isn't able
to show his powers, but he'sbeen kind of like showing a little bit.
Yeah yeah, And this Mandalorian melchKrako gets like super jealous and realizes
that this Zabrak is potentially, youknow, from dath Emir. So he

actually goes to dath Emir and meetsup with Mother Tausand and she confronts the
mother of Mall, Casina, sayinglike who did you give this child too?
Because we know you've done this,like you also gave away like you're

So it's this really interesting story.I know, it's this interesting story of
like what happens when Mall meets upwith a thousand, refusing to go with
her because he's like, I havemy own plans. I'm like the apprentice
of like the most probable person inthis galaxy, so like not happening,

and then in a result, hehas to kill everyone at the academy and
it's like over five hundred people.Yeah, yeah, it's all of them,
every single one, and you know, and two there's three of them.
He's like, oh, they wereactually my friends. Yeah yeah,
which is sad, but that's that'swhat it is. But there's this kind

of interesting moment at the end wherewhen Maul had this cut on him from
one of these kind of one ofthese guys attacking them, and she touches
the blood and puts it on thistalisman. She's like, I'll always be
able to find you, know,which we do see in The Dark Heart's

I do also want to mention soAliyah, this Jedi, if you
look at the entomology of the name, they play it into Alanna's name.
It's kind of like an honor ofthat. The start of the Witches,
yep, but eight seasons previously,it turns out that the Stormtroopers arrived and

built a prison on the world.So the prison basically is a political prison,
or like political prisoners are being stashedthere by the Empire, so they've
been there for a while, andGazarim, the head of Night Sisters,
was hired by the stormtroopers helped catchany runaway slaves prisoners, and at first
like everything was all good and happy, and then suddenly like they realized she's

more troubled than than worth, andthey stranded her on the world when she
took over the prison and killed allthe leaders, and then the remaining troopers
were forced to bay, and overtime that's when other females from the other
clans start joining her, gradually,gradually, And what we do see when
you turn to the dark side isessentially like your face becomes like bruised and

purplish and disgusting, which is kindof reminiscent of like the tattoos Zabrex order,
the tattoos that we see with theZabrex. And of course that mother
tells in a little bit, sothat being said, Han Chui, that
evening are you know, they're enjoyingtheir dinner and it's kind of like one

of again one of those dinners celebrationsand all. When the leader of the
Singing Clan Singing Mountain Clans asked Hanhow can I get this hollow cube from
you? Like the deed of thisplanet, because he had said, like,
hey, I own this planet.He had said that several times.
So like everyone he said, it'sZinji's men, he said, did the

nice scissors has said it's the clans, just being like, no, no,
this is my world. I wantto in a game. You guys
are just like temperary year until Ican get you out of here. And
so he admits the three wishes thathe would get if he could trade the
world over, which would be getoff the world first of all as many
gold and jewels as the biggest rancorcould carry, and lay us hand in

(01:26:36):
marriage. Ogwin's like, yeah,no problem, we're already bringing the falcon
here. You didn't know that.We've already had some rancors on it like
a while ago, and we'll getyou the golden jewels, no problem,
but lay us not part of thedeal. We can't force a woman to
do something she doesn't want to do. Like finally someone gets it and like

Hans just like no, I didn'treally agree. But then he's like all
right, all right, well youhow about you guys hang on to this
like hollow deed and then when youearn it, it's the planet is yours,
like I don't I don't need theplanet at this point, and Leah
has this moment where it's just like, you know, Han, like you
do surprise me sometimes, and it'sit's your kindness that I always care for.

And there's this kind of this momentwhere he's like, oh, you
know, the air seems a littlebit sweeter, and you know, up
until this point he kept being like, oh god, I'm allergic to this
world and like hay fever and allthis stuff. And then we get that
great moment of like three po presentingthe song about the virtues of King Han
Solo. He's just playing the rollof the barn You're right like, and

it's like fifty there's fifteen courses andLeo's like, don't you dare? Sing
like another another line in the song, but the main course is Han Solo,
What a man? So though he'severy princess's dream oh like yeah,
cringe just a little bit, butlike it's a catchy tune. Apparently later

that night though, when Han Isis dreaming and he's having a very peaceful
moment and he's kind of like beckonedby Leia to come to the window.
He's like all right, I'll gothere. And it's not Leiah. It's
like a fake Leia, and it'slike all these Night Sisters are like climbing
the cliff onto the fortress and likeLeia then pushes the other witch that was

trying to pull him out, likeout the window and she like falls below.
So that was you know, thefirst attack of the Night Sisters.
But they they want Han because hecan fly the ship and that's pretty much
it. They don't want him asa husband. There's just drive ship.

Yeah, exactly when, oh whenwhen Luke shows up, I think that's
a pretty interesting moment um, andshe's like she's Luke shows up with ten
Aneil, and ten Anil kind ofpresents that, hey, I've got these

two men, but I've decided tomarry Iseldor and this is my prize.
And like for a while, likeI thought it was totally gonna be a
Luke that she was going to announcethis, and then everyone's like no,
sorry, it's it's this one.And Leiah immediately it's like no, I
I like I object to this.He can't be like her slave husband,

like he's mine, Like he's notquite mine, but he's going to be
mine, like you know, Andthey're like, well, Leia, you
can't use the same argument like morethan once about how a man saved you
and therefore has won his freedom.And then she tries to use it again
on Luke. But like Lah andTennania at the same time, we're like,
he saved my life about Luke,So an aug One's just like,

look, there's three men here andbasically none of them are eligible as husbands.
So like my hands are up inthe air here, like I don't
know, that's a nice way tosum it up. Yeah, So like
I don't know, let's just cutone and a half and you can both

was the worst stoke I've made yet. So let's talk a little bit about
now that we have a moment oflike Han and Luke together and when Luke
questions Han, just being like what'sall this about Han? Like the fact

that he kidnapped his sister, sowhere yeah, what were your thoughts on
this? Well? The fact thathe knew these things too. It's just
like I read it as in hewas like, Luke's not exactly threatening,
but I felt that it was kindof threatening. You found it thready.
I found it just very like blownover because it was like a whole like

what's going on, Han? Andthen hand does this whole speech of like
it's been a really bad week oflike I thought Cinci's men, and then
like Islador showed up and leads andloved me, and now that got blasted
again and like the whole planet islike full of witches, like and that
was it, and Luke's like,Okay, well I've had a bad week

too, and I just move onwith the conversation, and like I just
felt that like there should have beensomething more here. I think the in
universe way to kind of like patchthat up is probably just like you know,
he stated his questions and then asHan was just going on, he

was probably reading him, yeah,you know, and then it's just like
all right, Hans just being Hanand freaking crazy, all right, and
then he kind of just moved italong. But there had to be some
semblance of of of Luke, youknow, talking to him as as his
potential brother in law. Well exactlylike you just kidnapped my sister, Like,

yeah, I'd like to read betweenthe lines and take it as a
threat, even if it wasn't necessarilya threat. All right, okay,
you know, but there's a lotof criticism of Luke during that time period
of him kind of being like alittle bit of a wheeny. But but
then, I mean, you know, he just headed a Night's sister about
thirty ten pages ago, So Imean, like let's give or take,

Like okay, all right, superBay, super bad, you know,
and then just like okay, orI had a bad week too, you're
so stressful. Yeah, yeah.So the next kind of situation what they
have to go through is that theyneed parts for the Falcon if they're going
to get off this world. Sothe only place they're going to find it

is that the prison that they're awareof, and you know, they decide
they're going to risk it and plunderthe prison like the good pirates that they
descend from, the only problem islike they're like, well, we can't
bring Chewy, we can't bring Cthree po for whatever reason, or are
two because they're gonna recognize that theDroids and Wookie don't have any place here,

but we can get away with likegetting into the prison, but you
know, of course, like theother thing is like they don't know the
prison layout. So Agwin the Knightsthe sorry, the leader of the clan
says, why don't you find Baruca. She's this former night sister and she
left them and she's living in exilein this cavern, so like their next

step is like they're gonna head overthere. I do like when ten O'Neil
she takes Isador aside and she justhave a little chat with him, and
she's kind of like, hey,like I saw what happened with you and
that other female Leah. Yeah,she you seem to like her, right,

yeah, Like it's no longer atriangle anymore, guys, it's a
little bit more um. But she'slike, I can't give you my can't
give you your freedom currently because ifI do, every other witch in this
place is going to hog tie youand take you as a husband, So

like bows out at this moment.So like she's sensible enough that she doesn't

of Prince isadore of what happens tohim. She's like, oh, I

we actually get some more intimacy withanimals in this story, especially the rancors,

purpose. And they're just not justwild beasts. They're companions, like like
I said with how the Tuscans arewith the Bantas, but the Rancors chose
to work with them because they're notjust like a little domestic cow like.
These are great beasts that have intelligence. And what we learned from this story

appreciates the fact that Yeah, she'sbeen taught all these things, but she

so Leiah has this good moment whereshe's talking to Isador and he's like,

why you like him, blah blahblah blah. She's like, funny,

that someone would actually do that,you know, because it's just so perfect
in all his ways. This ishow I described as the door. He's
so handsome that you forget that you'rein love with someone else. Yep.
Yeah. So when they finally write, like yeah, exactly. Yeah.

So when they arrive at Baruca's cave, she's having this crazy intense like struggle
transition from being night Sister it's nicesister back to being a regular witch,
and she can't quite keep herself inlike third person or first person, and
Luke has to keep reminding her oflike, you know, you've left the
Night Sisters, like you're here tohelp us, so like you're going to

help us now, and she's likeand he does kind of give her some
healing. We don't know what happensin the end with that, but something
what is really cool what she's ableto do is she actually pulls from the
dirt like it all like forms upand it's like a living model of the
prison and you can see like littlestormtroopers walking around and then she's like talking

like that's what that all the ship'sparts. So you're gonna look for it
or they're in the basement, andthen suddenly upon one of the towers,
there's this figure that appears and sheBruke was like, oh, oh my
god, like she found me andlike smashes the map and they're like what
just happened? Like that was Gusianlike and looks like she she's not gonna

she's not here to hurt you.She's not going to scare you. And
Han's like, well, I don'tknow, I'm pretty scared. So let's
talk about when they get to theprison, so I find it. This
is one of those moments in thestory where it's very convenient how they got
in so easily. So when theyshow up, there's like eighty Imperial Walkers

and like six hundred Stormtroopers that arelike just left the prison heading towards the
Singing Mountain clamps. They're like,oh, like, stuff isn't good.
And they figure out the only wayto get in this prison, and it's
Isselor's plan is by using harvester droids, And it's very convenient the fact that

these harvester droids are Haypen droids,you know, like these HD two thirty
four cs and I was kind oflike, what, like, why did
why did that have to be putinto the story. I don't know,
I found that really silly and convenientworld building. Yeah, because like we've

never heard of the HAPs and thensuddenly they have druids that are on this
planet, like come on, justsay But what they do utilize at this
moment is the fact that these harvesterdroids they're collecting berries from this field like
this, you know, a fieldthat they've established for the prison. And
the point is that if they gointo the droid machine, it'll sense the

weight and assume that it's full andbring all the goods inside. But of
course it's full of people. Andthere's this kind of funny moment where they
can hear these stormtroopers that are like, oh, that came back really quickly.
Well, it's too bad, we'renot going to get to have any
of those berries. What do youthink about when they get into the prison,

and like it's kind of easy becausethey they're able to get clothing pretty
simple from the laundry room. Solike the women, they get like night
Sisters outfits, and they do attacksome stormtroopers and get their clothing. However,
when they're there, they have thismoment if like they're walking along after

they see a bunch of like politicalprisoners and they oh, actually, this
is one question I wanted to askyou. They spy a woman who is
the senior weapons technology advisor to bailOrgana in this prison. So do you
think a lot of these political prisonerswere people who worked on the Death Start.

I think it's all together possible.Yeah, yeah, because we see
so many of them sporadically spread outto the rest of the timeline. Yeah.
Yeah, Bevil and even Danny QUEIright, she wasn't necessarily part of
the No, was she was?Was Danny que the Death Star? No?
She was much younger, No,she was? She was? There

was one before that. Um ohwhat book am I thinking? Well,
can't I remember we wedd was interestedin her? Um. But anyway,

think that's all together possible that someof them are supposed to be like little

give away so much, so muchas they were still world building. But
yeah, I don't see why not. Yeah, but like while they're in
the prison, like they can't rescueany of the prisoners because they have to
help themselves, so they basically leavethe prisoners with the intention of if you
know, we're gonna come back,and they tell that to the laundryman that
helps them get the clothes. Butthey have this moment where and this is

kind of where I was like,I don't know about this, where they're
walking along and they happen to comeacross like a group of four night sisters
across a causeway, and when theypassed them, one of them stops and
she turns around. It's just like, you know, I can feel your
fear, and of course that's Gazarianand for whatever reason, she like doesn't

sense that it's Han and Luke andLeiah feel right in front of her,
like you know, I mean,and they it's the Bantam. You know,
you got you gotta allow a littlebit of cheese. Yeah, Like
I know that they Yeah, likeI know that they had set up a

trap for them, like they hadknown that they would probably get you know,
Han showing up at some point totake the weapon or another weapon,
sorry that the parts that they'll need, But like, how could they not
sense Luke in this moment, Andthat's what I'm more curious about, is
like Luke isn't really seen in thispart of the story as like really important.

You know, he's the only Jediat this point, but they are
like, ma, you know,they don't really think about his power,
and obviously, what we see laterhis power isn't much compared to some of
the Night Sisters, though he's stilllearning. He's still learning. Yeah.

But when they finally get into thebasement to find all these parts, lo
and behold, they find the shockingdiscovery of another Falcon kind of cobble together
located in this like basement and likeother uglies and other ties and things like
that that they've been trying to likecobble together to get off this world.

But of course, you know,they haven't been successful. Ten O'Neil and
Luke they face off against a bunchof Night Sisters now that show up,
and one of them was Bitha,who we do remember from earlier in the
story. She immediately starts choking liketen O'Neil, and Luke jumps in and
like basically opens up her woman pipeand then the Nice Sisters were like outraged

that he would do something like thisand how he had the power to even
do this, and you know Barrithalike she immediately summons support and like Luke
Contennil like we gotta get to thisfake falcon and they get on board.
Luke I love this moment. Helike takes the falcon and like spins it

(01:50:38):
around in the docking bay before hewas even like going to take off,
and like they are able to takeoff, so like I don't know like
and how much time they were ableto like put together these parts and make
the falcon running enough that they areable to flee long enough until they got
shot down Byes and She's and whosaw the falcon escaping from the prison and

immediately shot it down like no hesitation, Yea, like didn't even go like,
hey, what's going on in thatfalcon down there? Like there's no
boom like and like at that moment, like you know, they're scrambling to
like get all the person they needlike loose from the ship and they leap
out of the faith falcon into thislake and it explodes what are your your

kind of thoughts of like what's goingon at this moment um, particularly involving
like with Cinji's thinking. I thinkit's it's a great amount of cheese going
on here. I if I ifI didn't say something myself, And I

think that Zinji, like, youknow, no, no matter how cool
he plays it, you know,because he's got he's got quite the story
going on, even though it's notreally been released at this point. Yeah,
so we we now know who hereally was, and he's he was

um, I think that him shootingdown Han solo as far as what I
think of all that. I thinkthat after you read enough of his history
and whatnot, I think it's alot more personal, yeah than it was

fellow warlords that he was up againsttoo, so I think taking out one
of one of the New Republics topheroes would have benefited him greatly. Yeah,
exactly. Well, he he definitelyhas a personal vendetta against Han,

because we find out because they evenask him like, what does Cinji have
against you? And he's like,well, I may have told him to
kiss my wookie at some point.Yeah, yeah, there's their like their
personal beef. But yeah, yeah, that's pretty funny. Like I like

that they all laugh at him andeven Likelors like, oh you're you're too
much sometimes my friend, and everyone'slike wowledor just calling him a friend,
which is still super awkward, guys, because he's trying to get lay his
pants. But so we have alittle moment where like our two and C

three people, they've been kind ofbreaking the codes between like the communications between
Gatzarian and Cinji and Zinchi's men.So when Getzarin talked to General Melvar,
like he's like, um, whatjust happened there, and she's like,
oh no, uh yeah, weknow you blew up the falcon, but

like wasn't on the falcon, Itwas just some of our stormtroopers, so
like, don't worry about it.We have Han solo in our possession,
which is a complete lie obviously,but she's trying to like use this as
a bargaining tool because like she knowsthat and she wants Han, and she
wants something, which is to getoff this world. So she's really desperate
to get a ship at this point, and she even to the point where

she's like, I will prove myloyalty to you and we'll give you my
daughters, you know, like andMalvern's like, why would you like what
mother would do that? And she'slike, it's not like that kind of
thing. Obviously, she's bold enoughthat she's going to try playing both these

men. So now they have theoption of, like they have to get
back to the Singing Mountain Clan andas fast as they possibly can, so
they like start like racing often throughthe woods, across the valleys, over
the mountains and take like one ortwo rest spots. And poor Tenannil she

goes to this horrible night where bothLuke and Isledoor turn her down. Yeah,
and like poor girl, you know, like I don't know how she
handles that, but like two menwho are your slaves are basically saying like,
no, I think I've got betteroptions, So poor girl. Um,

But like at least Iseledore like he'skind to her, you know,
and he does admire her as aperson, and he admires even her simple
beauty as he puts it, andthey have this nice moment where you know,
he's pointing out little stars, beinglike that's from that and that's in
that and like the history of thisone um and he's like, well,

(01:55:50):
with that planet there, you know, that's that's hapes that system, and
like you could see us, butI can't see you from there, so
you can at least always see me. But just you know, kind of
romantic in a in a sad,heartbroken way. Yeah, So continuing on,

(01:56:14):
they've got like another few kilometers togo, and the poor rancorps and
like Luke is trying to do whathe can for these creatures because he realized,
like they don't have sweat glands,so like they're they're taking like a
lot of weight, a lot ofstress from sprinting across these woods. And
he asked he asked Tosh to taketo get her two children, who are

(01:56:40):
the strongest climbers, to scale thecliff back into the fortress or sorry,
into the valley, and that Lukewill stay behind and fight these starm troopers
and these night witches that are coming. And it's this intense scene where there's
like four walkers and three of themare immediately almost destroyed, but the fourth

(01:57:02):
one blows off an arm of oneof the rancors. So I want to
Tash his children, and she goescrazy and just pummels this walker into the
ground. And at the same time, Luke is having this moment with one
of the Night Sisters and it's likethis young female and this kind of goes
to what you're saying with the characterof like what Luke being badass and he

(01:57:24):
like immediately chokes her and it's like, hey, like, I'll release you,
but you have to promise you're goingto leave the Night Sisters, and
she what she does like and hereleases her. She immediately is like,
h like, I'm gonna like it, starts to attack him and then Tasha
just like smushes her. Yeah,it's so brutal, and Luke's just like

(01:57:45):
h oh yeah. He's like,well I tried, like yeah, I
can't save them all. Yeah,I can't say. Well. So they
race up back to the fortress ofthe Sigy Mountain Clan and when they meet
in the war room and they're discussingif like you know, they're they're not

sure the numbers, and Agwin asksfor the advice and I'd like to get
your thoughts of the advice of Lukegives the Knights or the Dapamerian witches,
which is, use your powers onlyin service of life. And they're like,
so, does that mean in abattle you don't want us to kill
And he's like, no, ifyou can help it, Yeah, I

mean, you know that's it's thattalking point Luke meets Amazonians, you know,
yeah, if you would, andhe's just trying to show him a
better path. Yeah. Well,I mean if you even look at Amazons
in general, and you know,we know that Luke has his kind of
Herculean characteristics at times. If youactually look at the tail of like the

Trials of Hercules, like the twelveevents that he has to go through,
he does hook up with the Amazonsand then eventually, unfortunately kills a bunch
of them. Um huh, howabout it? Yeah, but that was
only because they were like it washair anyways, that's a long complicated story.
But you blame her for that becauseshe was always after her heracles,

you know. Um. But whenthe Night Sisters attack, they like start
dropping over like the cliff side,like cliff face, and Gazarian suddenly is
there and she's like challenges Luke andthey go into this battle of the two
of them, and she destroys himeasily, and like, yeah, this

is one of those moments that it'skind of like, how what was it?
Like even though they're new, youknow, these figures became mythic shortly
after like Um, like Repta thatwhat was it? Was it? Gpta
that um sort sort of tune thatthat Han faces in his trilogy and then
or the Lando. Yeah, theLando had to go up against in his

(02:00:08):
trilogy. And then here, youknow, we're we're probably like for people
who first read it, they're like, oh, come on, like because
he absolutely decimates her. But theQueen Mother, if you would, of
the Night Sisters is u is anancient you know, force and he goes
he definitely gets trashed, yeah,and like easily, and like he thinks

about this moment where like when heused to fight against Vader, Vader never
really tried to kill Luke and heldback, and now that these women who
are so powerful in the force,and like this is his first kind of
like real fight against force users,they just wipe his butt and like he
goes over the cliff, and that'sreally what happens to him throughout the battle,

Like no one knows, like hejust disappears, and like his line
is like then I failed you,and his brain is like filling with blood
and when she's like basically just pointingher finger at him and like he looses
his vision and things like that,which is pretty crazy. So all the
time, Chewy and Isldore, they'redesperately trying to end Han and Lair.

They're desinally just trying to get thefalcon like fixed, while the Nice Sisters
are attacking in like this crazy malestorm. It's like going on around them,
and suddenly the like mountain rips apartfrom where they had hid the falcon
away, and the Night Sisters werethere trying to like like take the falcon
out. There's this kind of funnyscene where Isledoor he gets kind of like

(02:01:41):
put into the sleep trance and liketen and Neil comes to the rescue and
sees that like he's getting hog tiedby a Knight sister, Like even though
it's battle, She's like, I'mgonna take that really handsome guy over there,
yeah opportunistic, yeah, lust islest I guess, oh my goodness.

(02:02:10):
Um, So like she takes isa door who's knocked out and like
through her spells and force like grabsthe body, hits that Night Sister.
She goes flying and then tells leah, blast you know, blast, take
off, blast the engines and runsand protects is the door with her body.

(02:02:30):
And the the act like just theact of the falcon taking off now
out of this hole burns away allthe other Night Sisters and they're kind of
safe, although one Night Sister doesremain alive, which is like only important
to note. Um, it's justkind of like a little side note.
So when the falcon takes off,immediately three po is singing the solo song

(02:02:54):
of like Han the Great, youknow, and Han's like, okay,
you need now to figure out howto get the storm to stop because obviously
it's a fourth storm. And happensto Spy a bunch of like it's like
two a dozen at eights and twodozen Nights Sisters walking towards them, and
he's like, ah, problem solved, and proton torpedoes them and the storm

(02:03:16):
stops and they're like yeay, sothat really declimated the Night Sisters numbers.
And but then what happens next darkness, complete and utter darkness. And this
is something that Zenji had been workingon which is he had released all these

(02:03:40):
satellites around Athamir and it blocked offthe light of the sun and the world
in about three days is going toturn into a giant ice cube in space
and everything on it will be dead. So now we understand like the priority
of guests Aian to get off thisworld because she's kind of aware of it.
Maybe maybe not, but she knowsthat, like she can't stay there.

Yeah, it's all it's all workedup. Yeah, from from your
knowledge, Like I know, um, other things like this has happened in
Star Wars, like when we getthese super super weapons and things like that.
But can you think of any otherspecific events where they kind of use
satellites as a weapon, like Iknow with Operations Cinder in in Cannon um

the night Cloak and Luke had beenreferring as the Eternal Night, and it's
something he had had a vision whenthey were at the prison and when,
you know, when their intention wasto leave, he was like, we
can't leave this world, not justfor this prisoners, but for the whole
sake of the world. So nowlike everything's like darkness and han Han Lance

the ship with Leia and Leah,you know, he says to her like
where's this oldor like wasn't he rightbehind you working on the ship with Chewy
And she has this kind of momentof like, oh, well he got
left behind. And Hans really shockedthat Leah was willing to leave this man
that you know, she was supposedlyfalling in love with and about to marry

behind during a battle. And she'slike, well, I know he was
protected because had Ane Old told me, But at the same time, I
don't know what are your thoughts onthat. I think in that moment from
my memory anyway, it was thatthat quintessential moment that like she chose Han.

he was, he was out therein battle, and yet whose side is

And I think that was kind ofsupposed to be the one of the one

riding back on the rancors where Hanand Leah actually wrote together, and Tenannil
and Isaelor wrote together, and itwas kind of like the silent thing between

But so Han and Lea they runback to the fortress to actually like
check that Isledor's okay and not theother people who or the villagers or anyone.
So I thought this scene was kindof silly where they like run up
past every one of the battles andthings like that, just to check on
Isledor and he's and they're like,oh no, he's he looks dead,

but he's just like asleep from thewitch spell. And they're like, oh,
okay, so he's fine after all. And you know, and and
like even in that moment when theywere running back, they did see tash.
I thought this was really sad.She was dragging like the corpse of
one of her sons and just likelambenting in this pain and sadness. When

they do find Iseledor, they alsofind that Tenaniel has been injured. And
what had happened was she had willinglygiven some of her strength and her body
basically or her powers to this Night'ssister that had been burnt by Hans Falcon
flying out of there, and Leahkind of puts his whole like, hey,

well the healer needs to check theKnight sister too as well as Tenanel.
And they're like, well, thisis not a priority. You know,
there's other people that are injured.And Leia has to do like this
whole like petition, you know,like we have to save everyone. And
even though that woman was just tryingto like kidnap this old or basically,

but they like Agwin finally concedes whatever, and then they're kindly prepping things for
burial. This whole time they stillknow what happen to Luke, And when
they say Luke's missing, like Leialike actively whimpers and like looks around the
room like she's trying to find hertwin and expecting him to show up,
but of course he doesn't. Laterthough, are two he played. He

(02:08:56):
intercepted another hollow between Ghatzarian and Zinjiand because Zarian's like annoyed was the name
of like what's the meaning of whyare you calling me? Like I just
was in a battle and I hadto retreat from that battle because obviously,
you know, we were losing andthe falcon gone away. And then she's
like, well, I hope youenjoyed this darkness for all my satellites,

(02:09:16):
because like that's how you get fornot giving me Han solo. Yeah,
She's like, okay, no,you know, I'll get you Han.
It'll be like the you know,today today And he's like, yeah,
it'll be it will be today becauseyou're gonna freeze tomorrow. So you know,
Oh, he was such a coldblood in yeah, yeah, like,

and he does reject that deal shehad offered of like I'll give you
my children if you kind of letus off this world. And she's like,
okay, well how about you hireus as mercenaries instead. We're not
going to be like partners, willbe I'll you can hire me, and
but you just need to give mea ship. And then finally he's kind
of like, yeah, all right, I'll give you a ship. Be

here at such a time with Han, and there'll be two ships, once
for you, once for Han,like be there, that's it, and
the transition. Ye Han knowing thisinformation is like, oh great. And
then suddenly Ghazarium does ascending directly toHan and she's like, if you don't
give yourself up, I'm going tostart killing all these prisoners and she kills

like twelve of them in front ofhis eyes, and even when he closed
his eyes, like desperate to likeescape what he's witnessing, he can't and
she's still just like killing all theseinnocent people and she didn't have us all
at that point. I'm kidding,like, what a horrific moment for Han
and Han. You know, likeHan is still a good guy. You

know, we know him as therebel and and the kind of scoundrel and
you know, yeah, exactly,oh jeezy, I love you like a

And immediately he takes off without sayinganything to anyone, and you know,
layout like chases after him, andhe runs straight to the falcon and

under his bed. And he right, exactly, I've got ex girlfriends under
the floor that they will be walkingStu sood. So he takes out the
