Kyle Rawlings. Everybody, I'm Lisa, and you are tuned in with Legends

(00:23):
Library. We are a podcast dedicatedto the Legends line of the Star Wars
books and the expanded universe. Todayis a bit of a smaller episode because
I am doing a run up toLegends Kan because it's the day before Legends
Khan and I'm here in Burbank,California, and I'm very excited for what's
going to happen this weekend. Itis full of amazing Legends authors and guests

(00:47):
and you know it's it's it's goingto be such a great celebration. So
right now I'm not I don't haveKyle here yet, he's still in in
travel mode. But I do haveone guest i'd like to have stay hi
to everyone because he will be hangingaround with me this weekend and made the
trip with me, of course,So if everyone can welcome, You'll have

(01:10):
to excuse me for this performance.Daffie make death face. How are you?
This is my my desk star puppet. I see you mean yes,
thank you, Daffie. I amnot a tough stier. I have never
made a puppet be for except formaybe when I was a child, and
I had the idea to make onefor fun, because why not, you

(01:34):
know. So he came all theway with me. He goes with my
Vader outfits, and I thought wecould have him on lessons I very very
so often, and potentially we willread the Desk Star book together and do
a show. I think, soyes, thank you, thank you,
Dafty. I'm excited to be here, but I'm not happy the fact that

(01:56):
I don't have a panel as Iand sorry, well maybe next year okay,
yeah bye when I have him childrenrun away from me. So my
trip so far, it's been prettyfun. Yesterday I rented a KTM Duke

(02:17):
motorcycle and I drove rode around LAand checked out some really fun little sites,
and of course I went down thePacific Highway for as far as I
could go. So I did twelvehours straight on a bike with like one
one break and then like gas stationbreaks. So you know, why not,

(02:37):
why not while you're in California printsmotorcycle and I had a great time
and met some really lovely people, really funny ones, but I'm you know,
it's it's been a nice strip stepfar, but of course I'm here
to talk Legends Con with you guys, and some of the amazing stuff is
going to be kicking off this weekend. So there's so many, so many

(03:00):
awesome panels. Make sure you checkout the schedule on Legends spashcon dot com
if you are attending, or youwill get your your information brochure. Also,
don't forget that we are so we'rea group of fans that have created
the fond and we're not affiliated withfilms. They did provide us guidelines of
how to run a fan run conventionso that they don't see us and we

(03:25):
don't do any cop dore anything. So we've been having our own cost players
do a lot of the photos andyou know, for the design. The
design so like our logo if youlook at like the Mara and the Breven.
So those were some costplayers, whichis like fun from a photo shoot
we did back at January. Iwasn't there obviously, but there was a

(03:49):
lot of the people who are attendingto speck end. Those cost players will
be We'll be here as well wellelse. So the panels are phenomenal of
I'm gonna go through some of them. So here's one panel announced Storry guys,
I'm reading the information off of themthe letters Cone Tumbler. If you

(04:12):
want to see all the panels foryourself, you can check it out on
there where you can also check itout on Facebook. So panelment announce and
Clone Wars Novels to join Matthew Stoverand Sean Stewart as they discussed their contributions
of FA and their favorite fan favoriteof the belt So conversations Matthew Stover,

(04:32):
there were all the guests will havekind of their own one on one panels,
So Michael Sackvile, Matthystover, Univeshko, Marva Hambley, A Wilpina Joe.
Joe will be doing the History ofSpace Opera panel which is how sci
fi was essentially created and led StarWars and all the awesome authors that contributed

(04:55):
to the sci fi starting from likethe nineteen twenties. Another panelist, so
many Lives of Luke Skywalker. Sothat is with Matthew Stiver, Michael Sackville,
Barbara Hamley, and Michael Cogs andthey discussed this post misunderstood hero I
already talked about that one really quicklythrough conversation kurniveshko Oh, Sean Stewart Lark

(05:25):
worked. Yes, guys, he'sgoing to be discussing how to run and
how he has designed Lark Experiences,so live action role playing experienced guys,
and he's been doing that since inthe nineteen eighties, I guess, so
that will be that's something to checkout through into Larvae. One thing also

(05:45):
to remember is that again we area fan run convention, but all the
proceeds of this go to the PeterMayhew Foundation, So we're really excited that
whatever whatever we were able to raisebe donated to them, and it goes
towards helping the alleviation of disease, pain suffering and the financial tool brought on

(06:08):
by life starmatic accent. So ofcourse if you just want to make a
donation, you can still go toPeter Mayhew Foundations dot org. And that,
of course is was created by thebeloved Tobacca Peter Mayhew himself. The
panel I am moderating will be theWomen of Legends Chanel, so that's the
Barbara Hambley here in a vet Gooand artists Chase and a first, so

(06:30):
check that out. Another thing toremember, guys, that we're not allowed
to live stream any of these thesethings, so what we will be doing
is is recording it and posting itlater, so that will be something to
keep an eye up for. Andthere's an Epic Collection discussion and Mike Hanson,

(06:51):
so he'll be talking about his lifeganger of collecting and reprunting every Star
Wars comic book of the Legends erain Marble's Epic Collections in that one.
That's cool. Conversation with Randy Stradley, of course, and that will be
an amazing one with the co createthe co founder of dark Horse Comics himself,

(07:15):
So that's one definitely check out forconversation Sean Stewart History Space offer.
Like I said, m hmmm,there's a Legends trivia. I'm hoping Stark
Killer himself will show up and maybehe'll win, but we'll see. I'm

(07:36):
hoping. I don't think you're oil, but you know he knows people that
no people know this event has happening. Fringers, gross guys, let's see
what we're at here. Make minemarvels, the Abel Pina, Jason Farry
and Michael Coog take a look backat the original Marvel Tales and how what's
the write in a back order tothe expand Universe The Storytelling in a Shared

(08:05):
Universe authors Jason Fry, Henry Gilroy, Barbara Hamily and Seawans who are discussed
the highs and lows of creative processand writing stories as a team within the
shared Star Wars category. So there'ssome really really phenomenal panels that will be
going on this weekend and just they'llbe doing signings, some of them are

(08:30):
selling things. The guests will beselling things. The vendor hall is is
also really incredible. There's some reallycool cool stuff. I'm definitely gonna go
broke. It's weird buying Star WarsLegends item. One other really cool event
that's going on this weekend is there'sa workshop by Michael Sackville and he's teaching

(08:52):
everyone how to how to write StarWars or starting just how to write in
general, and like what how howus? And is that that a Star
Wars off teach you how to write? So that's a panel to or that's
a workshop to definitely look out for. So if you're here at legs Cohn
great and I will be seeing yousoon. I'm enjoying lots of fruit.

(09:13):
I've been eating strawberries and own stopssince I've gotten here, which is delicious.
And don't forget to come and checkout pile myself on the vendor floor
where we will be giving away bookmarks. Pardon the fact that this video is
in reverse, so it doesn't saythey didn't get the gel real little,

(09:35):
but I should say it. Letus celebrate. And also you can see
my lovely banner that came in andthat death Sandy everything that I point not.
So yeah, come say hi,come enjoy Legus Cohn. If you
weren't able to make it force thisone. Hopefully we'll have another ones and

(09:58):
more in the future. We justdon't know locations, and we'll just see
how this goes, because you know, this is almost two years of work
every Tuesday that we were having meetingsand dedicating a lot of our lives to
creating this. See the executive directorKatherine, who's been on the show a
few times. You know, she'sdone an incredible job with this and has
worked really hard, as as asthe rest of the team. So it's

(10:22):
been really great getting to know everyonehere and I'm really looking forward to meeting
Kyle in persons finally and seeing allthese awesome guests and getting them to the
