Um, life's been pretty cool inmy Star Wars career. Um,
we're wrapping up the process of finishingSupernatural Encounters. Um, Joe's on his
final run, so things are goinggood on that front. So yeah,
for everyone who loves that entire wingof what's going on in the fandom right

now, um yeah, very excitingtimes. Audiobooks under production and Lisa and
I have been working with the Jedipraxium. Do you want to talk about
that a little bit here, becausethat's a pretty big deal. And yeah,
that's that's been what's cooking here asfar as what's going on, working

with Legend's Library, Um, workingwith Joe and the Boys on Supernatural Encounters,
and um, yeah, kicking inwith with the Jedi Practice, which
is it's gonna be very exciting intwenty twenty three. Well, we're formerly

yeah, there's a couple of differentways to do it, but I found
a few. I found a formand I'm like, oh cool, Yeah

gonna use them for LLL two umas far as everything to like, you
know, we won't be borrowing theDjango one. We're just gonna make one.
And um, A lot of themare made by a slinky, so
they have like a and then theyhave these little grab mics. They call
them. They're tiny, like bullshittingmics, and you just kind of they're
kind of like the ones that youwould put right here and yeah yeah,
but they call them like geothermal mics. It's because they're like that cheap and

that small. I don't know what, It doesn't matter all the same.
You put them on them on theslinky and depending on the device that you
hit the slinky with suspended from likea ceiling, yeah, it will generate
different like you know, like likelaser fires. That's how they made them.
We're making legit lightsaber sounds too,because you have to take the back.

You can take the back of aTV microphone up against it. There's
there's a lot more to it.Yeah, they're like adjust like a scent
to it. But yeah, likeactual like we're just gonna very I like,
yep, that's how we avoid gettingsued. Absolutely absolutely just changed it
like ever so much and just belike no, that's just a noise and

it's like yeah, done. Sojust to give a quick recap of Rose
Squad, So this is a bookthat is about reforming the rogue Studge and
uh infest from and also from theStar one. Uh it was Wedge Untillies

kind of initiated it. And weget some characters like Dark from a Gavin
Dark later he comes back and ofcourse the main character and focal point of
this book series is want to beCorn and this is you know, not
to spoil it, but like ifyou've read legas Fate of the Jedi,
uh, we do know that itdoes eventually developed some powers. So that's

one thing I'm looking forward to inthe series to see how he becomes Force.
So we last left off at afuneral. So one of the rogue
pilots, fan Ford, a femalefrom Kestle. She had unfortunately died in
her sleep at talis See. Andthat was such a horrible scene. Kyle,

if if you want to remind thelisteners of what happened, they did
a dirty they did, and itwas it was the whole irony on on
warfare. I think it is whatthey were doing, what he was going
for in the writing, because thefirst casualty wasn't going out and plays a
glory and all that and you know, final words now, it was it

(08:05):
was just there was a raid.They were all asleep, got murdered in
their sleep. It was horrible andlike we don't have anything of that scene,
and that's something I found just likejust not fulfilling of her character because
it's off screen she died and it'sjust like a note later that, oh,
by the way, but the funeral, I like the funeral how they

(08:31):
said it. So they put likethe white cloth and you know, like
the crest of the row squadron,and they actually aimed her at a red
dwarf and that was the way thatthey sent it off. I think that's
a pretty cool thing of being cremated. Yeah, absolutely, yeah, I
mean yeah, And I think it'simportant too to note because of the timing

(08:58):
of these books. Um, allthese things set the precedent for like you
were saying earlier with Kuran right now, it's like so in the formal lore
and whatnot, that's how you takecare of an officer. So we were
getting all those kind of things asfar as what the New Republic actually was
supposed to be for the first timeback then, which is kind of cool.
Go on, so now, afterthe funeral, like you said,

(09:22):
the pilots want to have like retributionfor killing one of their own, So
we go to the Imperial World BloodDebt, which is in the sector and
the Imperial base that's located there.It's on the Grand Aisle, and apparently
you need like a vaccination to geton there or you'll get like a gross
skin disease. And Kirton lore doesYeah, Kirton liars. He does get

(09:46):
it apparently, so when they arrivedthere, they have to like immediately there's
like ties alerted by the extent packand like there's brigates present and lots of
battle stuff born like he feels it'slike this calm this moment, and he's
like, it's kind of like thatcalm like the last night when he was
on teleesseee. So like, Idon't know if that's like a force,

(10:07):
the force kind of stirring in himor just and if that's thought of at
this point, I don't know.Maybe I maybe just be dwelling on it.
I think it's all kind of hereand nor there. Um, I'm
not the exact expert to talk onevery interview for him, but it's clear
that that they were either starting itor they they left it open enough to

(10:30):
be a wreckon in these kind ofmoments, because it's otherwise it's just like
really cool top gun moments, youknow, like moments of clarity and yeah,
exactly so, and like, butI think that they're setting him up
at this point. I wish Iknew more on that. We We should
ask Patrick next time. Absolutely,yeah, he loves the X thing that's
one of the other board board membersand also one of the editor for Supernatural

counter File. Uh so corn likewhile he's in this moment of like peace,
like he's like doing really good andlike you know, like shooting all
these like shooting at the Ravager andlike not really missing, and then um,
he's got all his like his shieldenergy in the in the forward,
but like the time's running out.Uh he kind of I think he does

something weird here and basically kind ofgets takes the bomber's head and disobeys the
direct order. So at that pointwhen when the battle is over, kind
of setting himself up for a courtmartial. So Carton Lore, who's been
the man who's been like searching forthem this whole time. He pops up

(11:37):
into shuttle, but like ten kilometersfrom the Ravager, which had just been
shut shot, and you know,like his pilot's like diverting and like to
the expeditions, and Laure's like,you you idiot kind of thing, like
you moron, Like if you hadlaser brains, you can melt ice like
lures. So temperamental, Like likeI said before, you know, he's

(11:58):
he's very much like very much likeDwight shot like spoiler question. But he's
so Dwight shrut, like you know, manipulative, clever, smart, but
then like he you know, likehow he loves his boss like too much.

(12:18):
Yeah, that's It's so the pilotconfirms that there's you know, distress
from the Grand Aisle, and definitelyah, who's this one Imperial you know,
Laura's like, well he for youknow, just because Laura's just he's just
gonna say that about like everyone likeyou, yeah, you lost, it's

(12:39):
your fault, like not even manager, like they're the same team, and
he just you know, it givesso f battle. So Imperials were right
savage exactly. So now that likethe rogue squadron, they they've headed back

(13:01):
and there their aboard the ship reprievedand Corn's in a bunk. And this
is where like the story kind ofgets thick, oh from you know,
like you you didn't like this part, Like I thought it was fine,
but you did not like this part. I don't know you the urcy Delia,

(13:22):
who is the back to queen likean heiress of like the back to
Um and from thy Ferret, thyFerret. What I don't understand still.
I think we discussed this in partone, is why would an heiress be
a pilot because like a pilot,they have twenty twenty flights at most.

(13:45):
Or why would a princess be asenator because they're normally just in a room
talking assassinations and other entanglements. AndI don't know, I get your point,

(14:07):
but it was like a political moveum and because of their prominence within
the New Republic, it just youknow, publicity is done, and they
developed your character to make it morethan that. I mean, like that's
kind of how it felt for everycharacter, was that they did a little
bit just to make you feel likeyou knew them. Again, if you
think of Top Gun the entire time, you'll love the whole thing. Right,

(14:31):
Oh that's awesome. Yeah, Istill do watch Top Gun at that
point. Yeah, like that that'sjust a vegan. Like the wolfman that's
in the in the group, youknow, we just we only see him
in that scene. We see himmore, but I mean, like the
only time that he's even really partof like what's happening happening is when they're
in the corridors, like responding tolike being ambushed at night yeah, you

know, so we get snippets likethat over the characters at some point.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Thisbook is basically they're talking, they're flying,
they're or they're drinking. Like that'sit, like you know, and
briefing been a briefing like everyone everyso so. So while Corn he's now

(15:13):
kind of like in the stage oflike you're being court martialed and he's like
restricted to his bunk. So irislylike she shows up, he's trying to
like console him, and I saylike console and quotation barks and like very
flirty Florence starting gale kind of thingbecause she had saved him at point,
and I tries to kiss him andlike not like no, move on,

(15:33):
Like it's like like the Jedi.You know, I don't want to have
attached or I don't want to getdistracted by like oh I care for that
person. Oh no, they justdied. There's a logic. Yeah,
but you know taking your children awaythree I don't. But but I'm a

(15:54):
Sith. Well what do I know? You could have just been all teasing
Jedi? Remember Altas? No,Um, that's or Alsi's right, yeah,
Um, that's that's who. Um. Oh why can't I think tonight

because it's it's almost it's almost midnightwhen we're recording this this evening, My
gun is gracious, Clissa joins him. Um yeah, and like because they
and that that was kind of aminor recon for them too. There is
actually a little bit of Jedi schoolof thought that breaks away. Yeah,

doesn't add here all that they don'tthey don't steal kids and stuff anyway,
going still a little bit Jedi,maybe like a little rebel Jedi. Yoda
didn't like them. He definitely waveda finger at them. That makes well,
I mean, he's not Yore justdon't even allowed to have any addle

Oh yeah, the mystery of yaddleto Yeah, don't know. I hope
she's okay. A group of badI don't know what went on with her,
like sorry, so even though thatlike they're flirting or she's flirting with
it, yeah, I'm sorry,I don't mean to yeah confusing, uh

so go on. Yeah, sohe does blow her off, of course,
and when I say, you know, like go away, um,
and when she's leaving, guess whoalso shows up at the door. But
you act So I really like thatintroduction of her character coming story. I
mean again, we know what happenedif um and you know, Marks is

like being sweet and she actually broughtsome traditional rice skate, which is like
this Parellian cake. I don't I'mimagining it kind of like a rum spice
cake. I don't like that,right, That's what I'm angel cake something,
Yeah, angel food, Yeah,who knows. And like Corn's like,
well, I don't think it's angelfood because like there's a lot of
eggs in that and that would gostale a day. That's what I was

(18:08):
thinking, like a heavy like youknow, soaked and rum. I might
make my own version of it,so in a realm that where you just
you just push a button in thefigures day. So even and then like
she brings this and like receive likeshe gives her the cold shoulder, like

when she ar showing up being likewhatever. But Corn's like super grateful she
brings them cake and he even Ilike this quote that he says, He's
like this rice cake might have evenbeen able to turn Darth Vader into a
Jedi again, so you know,yeah little nods back then in the early
days of the novels. Yeah,yeah, So after she leaves. You

know, I like this because liketheir fathers may have been enemy somehow,
Like this kind of strengthen the bondbetween it and like it's war. So
you know Arraby warned love is onYeah, so yeah, opposite tract exactly.
Yeah. On home one they haveanother briefing and it's for code name

Black Boo. So you have WedgeAkbar Palm and General Laren Craife and we
all know who yeah gets some likeyeah, I got to have our picks
of Botham's in these stories because youknow, like Botham's wouldn't forgive us if
there wasn't so and of course that'sthe grandfather of Grace Grafe, who we

know and that wow. So ohyeah, oh some stuff. Yeah you
like the battle cheek Maybe I don't, Yeah, might had a little bit
of Yeah anyway, go on,we digressed, right, I digress.

(20:06):
Not you didn't, but I did. So. The plan at this point
is like in fifteen days there's goingto be a mission and like it's been
approved by the Professional Council. Butthe thing is is like there's a lot
of talk of where they're going tobe going. No one has any idea
where they're going. You like thatright, um, and I liked how
you can see with those botons.Yeah, even then they the meddling and

the comments that were made in theretoo. Um yeah, you could just
see the early days of all oftheir nonsense that was coming because they were
all everybody was like surrounding mystery,like you said, and it's it shouldn't
have been that way, Yeah,you know it was. It was definitely,
um like their kind of move youcould you could tell remember because the

(20:56):
Bothons were pushing that. Yeah.Well the one thing with both ands,
you like they're still ragging on aboutlike Dustar too, and like how oh
yeah, how awesome they are,like yeah yeah, you love the animosity
already there on the rivalry. Yeahwell, I mean you get some Bothon's

(21:17):
like Borsk obviously it's like the mastermanipulator turn Marter, but like like yeah,
what a guy, What a guy? What a piece of for real.
It's it's good knowing how because youknow, once you once you reach

(21:38):
the end of the timeline you comeback to this the series too. It's
a lot of fun because knowing whathappens with all these these cats too,
you know, sitting there his youknow, before the Vong You're like,
mmm, he's gonna paper all ofit. You know, you're gonna lose
half your hair, borsk you know, in stress, And like there was
a brief mention of him at thebeginning of this book for he has the

ear of Yeah. The one thingwith Boris because like he's always trying to
to be the leader, and whenhe's not, he undermines the republic.
So like he's a very dangerous politicianin that sense. But you know,
a very typical politician in that sense. But so yeah, like some kind

(22:21):
of rescute and kind of well Imean rescuting something else, but we won't
get it do that. It's kindof you know what I mean. But
it's like at this point, youknow he's got the ear. You know,
the character was still being developed,so he was just kind of this
like you know, sleuthy exactly.Anyway, I digress. So one thing

(22:45):
about like the end of Hard toKill, he's Hard to Kill. Well,
I mean, just to continue onwith how awesome Boris goes, Like
think about his death. Yeah,he killed twenty five thousand US on bog
in his death like ka boom,Like he nailed that. Yeah, and
the rest of these guys in theroom did some hefty damage themselves. Yeah,

(23:07):
you know they're gonna see a lotof their um, their hostile takeovers
so to speak. Yeah, exactly. So one thing that's interesting with this
mission is like Psalm, who ofcourse is like, hey, we're going
to court martial Korn, but thenhe changed his mind, like we're going
to need him for this mission.So again he's the main character, like,

(23:30):
oh, can't court martial him?And then they'd just be like drop
off in the story like threatened war. So what it happened? So now
we turn to a world where spoilers, we're going to figure out what the
pote named Black Moon is. Butwe're on board Lean and it's a hot,
temperate like jungle, like you're verysweaty. And Kirton Lore and General

(23:55):
Evier Derek Co so he's a humanfrom Kala and he's described as like toad
like bloated imperial uh, but he'salso like in charge of like the force
in Pyreea. So dere Coote ofcourse is being like very cordial to Cairton
Lore and like in general, peoplejust don't like Carton Lore because it's Kirton
Lore. If you get to knowhim, you don't like him. You

(24:18):
know, like he wants to belike Tarkan, but he's just not as
cool. And they're like, there'sthe door, mister Law. Yeah exactly.
So Laura's there to be like,hey, yeah, I'm im imperial.
But he's like investigating dere Cord andit turns out like he's busted.
You know, he's been duplicating requisitions, fuel hoarding, and he's even involved

(24:40):
in the all around biotics. Sothat's something that's we're going to see a
little bit later in the story.And you know he's imperial, yeah,
and he's just like, well,no, I'm doing it for like the
good of like I am like Iam an imperial, like you know,
imperial Russian Empire. Yeah exactly,He's like, I'm a good son of
the empire. One day. Soand of course, like they found evidence

(25:07):
of like hollowing it tempering into inBorlas and he's like, oh those bosoms
again, they're up to everything.So yeah, but it's kind of like
he saw nothing to indicate that youwere like a genius when you know or
when dere quotes like I can handleif there's any attacks, I'm going to

(25:32):
be here at the same time.So operation exactly, So Operation black Moon
kicks off. And when they're nowin space, so they've got the mom
Valve uh, the Cora Lag andthe Eridan and these are all kind of
like bulk cruisers. And when theyarrive at Borlas, so like they're going

(25:52):
to attack, Like the facility onthe ground does have a shield of course,
and there is the emancipator, whichis this so it's kind of like
a trap because again, throughout thiswhole story, there's been like a hint
of like a spy and we don'tknow who the spy is. Yeah,
and you know, like everyone's sofar is saying that it's Tycho, which
is like the most insane thing.I like, like I still can't get

(26:14):
over that, Like there's how canyou say it's Tycho when like he's Alder
Alder and he was at both likeDestar one and sorry now he was at
Adnor and haw and all these things. But one of hes and Zar's kind
of like strength is that she haslike like she's deliberately brainwashing become sleeper agent

(26:42):
and she's doing this en corressant andin the Lusianka, which is like a
prison underground, but it's secretly aship that I've heard people like, I
don't know if you've heard this,Kyle, where like they say it's like
one of the most ridiculous thing inStar Wars that the Lusanka act like leaves
cors On from like the underground.It's like a full ship. Like it's

cool. I mean, I thinkit's cool. I think it's all right,
but like I've heard of other people. But all right, the sentence
you to said, right, likeleaves Corusson and a ship. Yeah,
right, Okay, I get it. But at the same time, I'm
like, the entire city is howhow many layers upon layers upon layers,

So like, are you really leavingthe planet at all? You're just leaving
like a mass of some other perfectlyperfect Oh they're taking my Bathroomska took my
bathroom. We're in my newspaper.And also Michael Stackpole, like I know

he talks about flagship for US Andrewstar Lusanka. It's actually based off of
the KGB prison that the Kremlin hadcalled the Lubyanka in Moscow. So and
Michael Stackpole deliberately made it kind oflike this terrible pile prison because it's a
model after something that the Kremlin.That's a whole other discussion that we're not

hm m. Yeah. I lovethe Russian people. Y'all raised me,
so there was it was a greatfamily. So I will not say a
word. But as far as Putingoes, like, I think it's safe
to say. I know you saidwe're not going to talk about it,
but I think it's safe to saythat like a lot of folks here obviously

understood what was going on for manyyears and you know this, I'm not
gonna say it right because we're onYouTube anyways, Um fuck him, serious
face, serious face. You knowI would love him to come over.

I would show him some traditional Finnishhospitality, which means you're dead, by
the way. But yeah, justfor breaking along the notion of of World
War four, Like yeah, anyway, I digress. I don't want to.
Yeah, I don't want to becometoo political on here, because we

going to be an episode talking warand Star Wars. So back to work,
Squadron and the first everybody forgive me, Yeah, the first battle no,
no, there's no need to apologize. Um. So now we have

the first battle boils in the story. So corn Corn thinks that like Tycho
should be allowed to use Lujan's Xwing, but of course, like they
just would rather have that ship empty. And this again goes back to like,
you know, the belief that whenTycho was captured and in prison in
the Lusanka, that he was brainwashedand therefore the spy and they have no

(30:19):
trust of him, so they've takenaway like all his privileges. They watch
when he eats, like he's notallowed to go anything like certain like rooms,
like he can't know any information.But yet he's still the executive off.
So it's like the right people trusthim, but then the wrong people
don't trust them, and their carmcounting them exactly and it could be a

(30:41):
ploy that you know, they're divertingattention from themselves because they could be the
spy, but who knows. Andhe's also like, yeah, the corn
like must say that it was veryeasy to identify the spy in this book,
just not to like, I mean, you know this guy to call
it what it is, Well,you've read them all, like for the

(31:06):
for the sake of the people whohaven't read the books. We're not going
to identify the spot. We're right, right, right, I guess you
can't know. There's gonna be peoplewho counter exactly what I just said.
But anyway, go on. Soin the battle, like it's it's intense,
so like even at the beginning,like his mind keeps wandering a little

(31:27):
bit, and like he does thinkabout like father's death, and like how
he blames himself because like he relaxedlike that um in the midst of the
battle though, like the attack,like they're trying to attack the space,
but like the fire of like thespray is kind of going into the jungle
and just like burning it in themidst of it. And Door who he

(31:47):
who is called signed number twelve,the Rhodian like dies and corn is just
like he explodes like anger and helike vapes the killer uh on purpose,
Oral You're favorite character. The gaingets hit and he's like shot into space.
The poor guy, like you wouldn'tthink that he survives. It's no

(32:10):
Jedi, but it gets so screwedup. Oh, it's so yeah,
Yeah, he's so cool. Andhis hand falls off. It is ripped
off, right, it's like floatingor something, I think, right,
you know, and like it's likehe's like waving his hand and he doesn't

(32:31):
have I have to pull up theexact paragraph. But it's like, for
some reason, I think my brainskipped that scene because it was probably like,
yeah, I like the gritty parts. Yeah, Lisa goes over.
She's like, oh, those animalsand like, oh, somebody's hands ripped

(32:51):
off, and like Maxileine getting pulledthrough, you know, exactly under our
station. Yeah. Anyway, Yeah, but like their butts are seriously getting
kicked in this moment, and likethey can't really like shake tie numbers and
things like that, and like there'sthis like the and like there's iron blast
coming from planet side um it hitsthe emancipatorum Noarra and Urissi are both damaged.

(33:15):
So like basically they've had two pilotskilled in the end of this and
three injured and like out of commission. And that's you know, for a
squadron that is already down one andlike only has like twelve and the exactive
