Speaker 1 (00:01):
Hey Miles here and welcome to the Legit Side Hustles podcast.
In today's episode, you'll learn how to start a newsletter
in ten minutes. Yeah seriously ten minutes. So Step one

The sky is seriously the limit here, and if it's
interesting to you, it's a good starting point, and it's
most likely interesting to someone else as well. Step two
is to choose your newsletter name. So make a newsletter
name that's simple and clear. Here are some examples related

(00:42):
to the niches that we recently mentioned, so Budget Weekly

be perfect. Step three is to use a newsletter tool

(01:28):

tools are Beehive, Substack, and Kit which is formally convert Kit.
They're all free to start, pick one and create an account.
I recommend starting with Beehive b E E hii V,
and don't worry too much about the newsletter provider you
start with. You can always change to a different provider later.

So now you can name your newsletter and you're done
with the bare minimum foundation. Step four is to add
your sign up for After you've created your sign up form,
you'll get a link for your newsletter, which will be
a subdomain based on your newsletter provider. So copy your
newsletter link and post it everywhere. Put it on your

(02:12):
social media handles, YouTube, website, podcast, and text your family
and friends about it. Now people can and will join
because you've asked them to join, which brings us to
step five, which is to write your first email. Your
first email doesn't have to be long, you can truly
keep it just three to five sentences. Introduce yourself, say

(02:36):
what your newsletter is about, and let the reader know
what they can expect and how often you send your newsletter.
Here's an example. Hey, I'm Miles, Welcome to the Legit

ways to earn extra income on the side. You can
expect one email per week with tips to help you find,
