Quello che si sta per chiudere non è stato un anno facile per il nostro Paese. Secondo il rapporto di Legambiente, realizzato dall’osservatorio “Città Clima” e diffuso pochissimi giorni fa, nel 2023 sono stati ben 378 gli eventi estremi registrati in Italia: +22% rispetto all’anno precedente. Di crisi climatica si può anche morire: nell’anno che stiamo per salutare, 31 persone hanno perso la vita a causa delle calamità.
Gli appelli delle associazioni contengono sempre le stesse frasi: puntare sulla prevenzione, investire maggiori risorse per evitare nuove tragedie, incentivare la decarbonizzazzione . Ma le parole, spesso, sembrano rimanere inascoltate. La Cop28 ha lasciato molti insoddisfatti, con le decisioni prese che appaiono ancora poco convincenti e molto inefficaci. E gli attivisti continuano a scatenare le loro proteste, lanciando ancora vernice arancione, stavolta anche sugli alberi di Natale.
Tutta la speranza la riponiamo nell’anno che verrà. Perché l’anno nuovo è uno stato d’animo: lì tutto sembra più bello, più prezioso, più luminoso. “Chissà, chissà domani, su cosa metteremo le mani”, cantava Lucio Dalla. Noi vogliamo credere che il nostro domani sarà senz’altro un tempo migliore.
