We enjoyed discussing the raw side of beauty and how a human with skin can benefit from seeing someone who is trained to care for skin: an esthetician (or aesthetician, which is often confused with anesthesia—they are not the same!)
What is an esthetician?
A well-trained person who cares for skin with an in-depth look at your skincare routine and what daily habits (such as, do you have acne? wash your pillowcase more often) are causing your skincare concerns. An esthetician is also someone trained to use higher potency products to provide a better result, which your home care routine will help maintain. It's a two-step process... You & Your Esthetician... to get clear skin.
What is NOT great?
- Ignoring your skin because no one taught you.
- Ignoring your skin because you feel like you don't have money to treat yourself.
- Ignoring your skin because you're embarrassed or "men don't do that" ....
Everyone has skin. Everyone has looked in the mirror and wondered, "Hmm... wonder what that is..." or "Wonder if I..." You don't need to redesign your face; you can simply learn to wash it properly—that's a good start!
