Speaker 1 (00:09):
Do it? Come on, I did it, Hey, bro, we
gotta get to at least ten thousand. Gotta get to
at least ten thousand.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
I got water in my eyes and.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
All over my computer. That's what she.

Speaker 3 (00:27):
Hey, filim in a move for a switcher. I hit
the hit the rolates to that hit up. I hit
the stage.

Speaker 1 (00:35):
I leave with money. That's a stick up.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
Welcome to Altitude Adjustment. My name is Mario Batanzi. That
handsome bastard in the war room is Patrick Keyote. And
how we all doing tonight?

Speaker 1 (00:48):
Pat?

Speaker 2 (00:49):
It's it's been a hot minute. You know. We we
decided not to do a show last week because we
needed a little bit of a mental break. And I
real quick, I will say this, You and I are
so used to getting our content and our ideas stolen
that it was nice to start the show by, you know,

(01:10):
stealing somebody else's content for once. It felt pretty good. So, uh,
why don't you tell the people what we're doing this evening? Pat?

Speaker 1 (01:19):
Well, you know, first of all, Mario, it's great to see.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
You two as always.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
Tonight we're gonna be doing a fun experiment. It's draft season. Okay,
We're we're we're twenty three days away from watching the
Denver Broncos. Make this team better. And so what we're
going to be doing tonight is we're going to be
bringing you into the war room. We're going to be

(01:50):
doing a live, seven round mock draft. Now this is
this isn't your normal mock draft. Okay, this isn't your
your run of the mill. Two guys on a podcast.
Oh well, you know at fucking uh at pick twenty
we took No, we're taking you straight in. So what

(02:11):
we're going to be doing, Mario is going to be
playing the role of general Marie oh Jenner. Yeah, George,
like George, that's George Pat Okay, I will be playing
the role of coach Sean Pat a ten And we're

(02:36):
going we're going to be playing these roles at every pick.
So uh, we'll be talking about which play, you know,
which player makes sense at this pick? Should there should
we trade down? Is there an opportunity for us to
trade down? Is there an opportunity for us to trade up.
We'll talk about this in the mindset of the coach

(02:57):
and the GM. So it's gonna build funny, it's gonna
be a little goofy, but it's also gonna be I
feel like it's gonna be a fun exercise because I
think a lot of people go into mock drafts thinking
like how they would think, not how the coach would
think or the general manager would think. So contracts, those
come into play. You know, rookie quarterbacks that we drafted

(03:22):
last year, those come into play. We're not gonna be
taking a quarterback or anything like that, maybe in the
late rounds. But it's gonna be a fun exercise. I'm
really excited for it, and yeah, it's gonna be a
lot of fun.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
I'd just like to point out Pat, like you and I,
we have studied this draft from a Broncos standpoint as
much as anybody, and I just want to let everybody
know you're welcome for what we do. You know, Pat
and I are the ones doing the work. We put in.
We put in the man hours, we've studied the film,

(03:55):
we've read up on the prospects. So we're not asking
you to do it. Pat and I are going to
do the mock draft for all of you, as opposed
to making you all do it and providing us with
your solutions as Instead, we're going to do the noble

(04:15):
thing and do all of the hard work for you. So,
without further ado, GM head coach, let's get right into it.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
Quick question before we do this. Since I'm playing the
coach Peyton role, am I obligated to do a bond rip?

Speaker 2 (04:34):
Allegedly you are allegedly, Yes, you are allegedly required to
do a bond rip? Absolutely great? Okay, So, and and
here's the other thing about the exercise pattern, like really
quick before we start, there seems to be a misconception
that like George Peyton can't do anything with Sean Payton

(04:56):
say so, which I think is a hysterical thing to say.
But but just for the sake of this this exercise, Pat,
that's pretty much what we're gonna do. So in this exercise,
because coach Pat is the coach, PAT will ultimately have
final say of who is drafted. Okay, fantastic. Now we

(05:19):
just went from a PG third into a rated R
rating just like that.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
Fuck, there's no there's no dick and or balls.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
Yeah I know, but I just saw it.

Speaker 1 (05:28):
So okay, all right, let's get this thing going.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
So first off, draft I said it twice. Now we're
definitely in our rating.

Speaker 1 (05:35):
First off, We're not going to trade up to number one,
Mario before we get this thing going. Look, we got
to talk. Are the Raiders a legitimate threat to take
Ashton j T at six? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (05:54):
In fact, I'm I would wager to say about that.
By by the time the draft rolls around, I think
he'll be the betting favorite, or rather the Raiders will
be the betting favorite to draft Genty. Absolutely. Now, listen, Pat,
we are not trading up to five.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
George, George, George, hear me out here, hear me out Coach,
We send.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
Fuck coach.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
Listen, we said send this, we send this, We send this.
Now listen, we can trade. We could trade back at
fifty one and get some more picks. I'm just throwing
it out there. How do we feel about this?

Speaker 2 (06:32):
We're not doing that? Okay, Okay, let's go then, or
it's falling nice and and and for the record, like
as we're as we're wareing.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
And there he goes, and there he goes, and there
he goes.

Speaker 2 (06:50):
Very very unlikely. Pat, would you agree that in real
life the Broncos are trading up unless Genty or Warren
fall further than they were anticipating. But even so, Pat, like,
this is a team that really likes their draft picks,
and I think that's something crazy would have to happen

(07:11):
to convince them to trade up. So here's our current situation. Okay,
so go ahead and go ahead and rattle off pat
Actually you know what, Yeah, go ahead and scroll down.
I'll just run through this really quick. Malachi Starks. I'm
a huge fan of his plays a lot of different positions,
absolute ballhawk dog can play in the slot, which I
think the Broncos like Jakwon mcmillion has been good, but

(07:34):
Stark certainly elevates that possession. He plays safety as well.
He can play that like free ranging safety that you know,
you and I have discussed that we don't necessarily have.
That being said, we spend a lot of money on
Hufanga in the offseason, signed Brandon Jones last year. I
would like to add a you know, kind of centerfield
safety if if it falls to us, And I'm very

(07:58):
like Starks is high on on our board. But I
think this is the conundrum now of yeah, you want
to take best player available, but there also has to
be a fit and I think with the way that
this team is constructed right now, Starks isn't the best
fit in terms of how much he is going to contribute,
And as the twentieth overall pick in a first round pick,

(08:20):
we want the guy to contribute. So you know, we're
not going to go with a guy what like Starks
right now. Obviously Omari and Hampton is there. I think
he's at the top of our He's at the top
of our board. He feels a need. I think he's
a game breaking back. We have a quarterback who you
know we're hoping to make that leap and he had

(08:41):
a fantastic rookie season despite Narry having a run game.
He's great in pass protection, so we don't have to
keep trotting Javonte Williams out there even though he's ineffective,
just because he's a good pass blocker. Now, another option
that I think we should consider here coach Amika Egbuka
uh absolute dog of a wide receiver. I know he's

(09:03):
the kind of wide receiver that you like, never saw
a block that he didn't like. Now, here's the thing
with a Buka coach, you're taking him at twenty. I
don't think that there's a good chance that he can
turn into a wide receiver. One. So depending on what
we do long term Equotland one, I'm just saying. I'm
just saying, Egbuka is going to be a very solid

(09:24):
number two for a really long time. So if you
are comfortable with taking a number two wide receiver at
twenty and again, a receiver that very much fits what
you want to do, then I'm good with that. Tom McVay,
you also want to run through a couple of the
defensive linemen, but personally, the way that this board has fallen,
I would prefer to wait, especially given how unbelievably deep

(09:46):
this D line class is. What are your thoughts?

Speaker 1 (09:49):
Sean McVay is on the phone right now and he's
offering us twenty six one oh one and a fourth
next year to move.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
Up right, I would what do you think? Absolutely? Take that? Yeah?
I would take that all time. Now.

Speaker 1 (10:06):
Look, I like the idea of adding Buka. I think
he can play. It's not just about him being a
wide receiver one or wide receiver two, whatever, It's about
what role can he play in this offense? And I
think that he can play multiple roles. I think he
could play the Z if we needed him to be.
He played the majority of it which we do need
a Z. He played the majority of his snaps in

(10:28):
college in the slot. It proved that he could win
in the slot as well. Fantastic blocker on the perimeter
on screens, which we know is important. That was a
big part of little Jordan Humphreys role as the f
and and pseudo Z in this in this offense. And
you know, yeah, we got Trent Sherfield, but you know

(10:49):
he's going to be playing a lot of special teams,
so we need to keep fresh legs out there right
at Buka can can be a guy that we can
use to attack the middle. He can be a guy
that we can use to attack in the slot. We
can use him outside if we need to. I think
he fills a lot of roles. Hampton, Yeah, like it'd
be great. It'd be great for us to take a
running back. Now we can officially just cross that off

(11:10):
the list and move on. But I don't know. I
think the trade back scenario is one that I'm really
really interested in. I think we could add some more
talent to this room and premium positions, and I think
I think there's a lot of players that are high
on our board that we could still get in in
this area in the twenty sixth range. So I don't know,

(11:31):
what do you think, in George, should we is this
enough to trade down six spots? Should we ask for
you know, one twenty seven as well for a move up?
I mean, who's who is McVeigh gonna go get? Is
the question? So what do you think? Should we take
this trade and see what we can get?

Speaker 2 (11:48):
So here's the thing, as this board has fallen realistically
Omari and Hampton is not going to be there. I
think if he is in a real life life scenario,
I have a hard time passing up on him. You know,
the Sean Payton offense works the best when you have

(12:10):
a studded running back, preferably you have two guys. We
have zero guys right now. You know, we felt so
lowly about audric estimate that he rode the pine during
a playoff game where it probably would have benefited us
to have a bigger back in there. So, if we're

(12:31):
going as a combination of need and availability on our board,
so if like in terms of like the being the
best player available, I think Hampton is the best combo.
But then if we were to discuss like how this
would realistically, go down. I don't think Hampton's there, So

(12:53):
for the sake of this exercise, coach, let's go ahead
and accept that trade. There are plenty of really good
players on the board. I don't think that we need
to chomp it the bit right now because of how
it's fallen. Let's go ahead and add another pick and
use it on someone to make our team better.

Speaker 1 (13:14):
Deal sounds good, Hey, Sean, Yeah, we're gonna take that deal.
We're going to take that deal. Who did they take?
Josh Simmons? Perfect? All right?

Speaker 2 (13:32):
And in the break of the century, the guy that
we wanted at twenty is still there at twenty six. Well,
that's just fantastic.

Speaker 1 (13:40):
That's amazing. Now, I will say, though, go ahead.

Speaker 2 (13:43):
And talk us through like we would be on all
of this pad, go running through some of these other guys.
You know, I think where you're thinking of, like where
the Broncos conceivably could go if these guys are on
the board.

Speaker 1 (13:54):
I think Burden is a player that a lot of
people want. There's, you know, the attitude issues that we've
kind of heard rumors, you know, that's a little concerning,
But I think this guy would be a fantastic z
in the offense. I'm not going to touch you know,
Hampton too much. Loveland would be an interesting option here.

(14:15):
I think there's some potential upside, you know, as as
we move on from Adam Troutman, probably after this season,
not during the season, guys, we still need the vet
in the room. But I think Loveland will be more
of the role that that Evan Ingram is going to
be playing right, so moving him around right, but but

(14:37):
still more traditional like he can play in line in
some areas. One that would a couple of picks that
would be really interesting to me here. The last two
that I'll talk about Grey's Abel the lineman from North
Dakota State, Ben Powers going into the final year of
his deal. But this is a guy that can play

(14:58):
five positions across the offensive line. And if I want
to upgrade our run game, George, I need to get
another guy in there. I just like, I don't know
if I can do another season of Luke Wattenberg. I
know you like him. I know I know you said
you talk all the time about how he's thick in
the lower body. I get it, okay, but I'm tired

(15:21):
of it. I'm tired of yelling at his ass. On mondays,
I'm tired of it.

Speaker 2 (15:24):
Okay, I'm sure he's tired of get and yelled at.

Speaker 1 (15:28):
I don't I don't think he understands what I'm saying,
to be completely honest with you. But Gray's abel is
one that interests me here, especially with the trade down,
because we get the five years with him. The other one,
Derek Harmon, the lineman from Oregon, we gotta get, we
gotta get bigger up front. We got to get beef here,

(15:49):
one of the best pass rushing in tier alignment in
this class, if not the best. Really crazy numbers. I
think he had, you know, fifty five pressures or something
like that, thirty nine hurries GD.

Speaker 2 (16:03):
Now now keeping and keep in mind with Harmon, he's
one of these guys who some might call it an
anomaly year, but this past year he was absolutely dominant,
but he didn't have a lot of those previous years
to back it up. So you feel like you have
to bank on the fact that he continues to build
off of that one good year and it wasn't just

(16:23):
said an anomaly year.

Speaker 1 (16:25):
Yeah, So I think, here, George, if we if we
still want Hampton and I think we I think we
could take Hampton here and be happy we got the
extra picks.

Speaker 2 (16:35):
Okay, I think we would be incredibly happy with this.
And I think he makes our offense incredibly dynamic. He
gives bo, you know, a dump auntdown option, a guy
that's going to break tackles, and someone who could actually
average more than three and a half yards of carry.

Speaker 1 (16:51):
Now here's what I'll say, my only argument, Caleb Johnson
would fit this offense extremely well, extremely well.

Speaker 2 (16:59):
Well, then we'll take him at fifty one we're running.

Speaker 1 (17:02):
Don't do that. He's an early down guy. Okay, that's
what we need. We need an early down guy. And
I think Caleb Johnson could be an early down guy. Uh.
But I think for the sake of this.

Speaker 2 (17:14):
And you know, why don't you just go ahead and
get Cam Scattabo all the way the fuck off of
my screen.

Speaker 1 (17:19):
He's uh. I think he's the second best running back
in this class. I think we got to take him. Yeah,
So with our first day, George, we're gonna take Omar
and Hampton running back from North Carolina.

Speaker 2 (17:36):
Applaug Hey, look at us, We've got our guy.

Speaker 1 (17:39):
Look at us, Hey, George, I still want to tight end.

Speaker 2 (17:47):
Well, well, yeah, obviously, I mean Ingram is more of
a joker role. He's not going to be in line
a lot. Let's go find you a guy who can
catch the ball but also doesn't mind throwing his body
around a little bit, because you and I both know
Evan Ingram is much more of a slot than an
inline guy. And anyone trying to say that Ingram is
in line and he thrives there, well, they just don't know.

(18:08):
Ball coach.

Speaker 1 (18:09):
Hey, uh look, I'm really I'm really frightened that Seattle
is going to take Mason Taylor if we don't get
to him. You want to call up old buddy in
Arizona and see if we can jump them.

Speaker 2 (18:28):
Where is where is Mason Taylor on your board in
terms of what you need?

Speaker 1 (18:34):
I mean, he's that's a pretty high priority coach, And I.

Speaker 2 (18:36):
Mean we do have we do have coach Carters.

Speaker 1 (18:39):
We have his coach in the building. I've really loved
his metrics, I've really loved his tape. I think he could.
I think he could be the tight end of the future.
I think he'd have a great relationship with Boe as well.

Speaker 2 (18:51):
So you coach, Yeah, I think we only need to
go up for spots. Why don't we see if if
they'll take one of those later round picks, we don't
have to give up too much. And let's go up
and get our guy.

Speaker 1 (19:03):
Hey, hey, let's send him fifty and a seventh next year.

Speaker 2 (19:11):
Why don't you have them throw in a two twenty
five and see how they feel about that? Is that
what that is? Yeah? That to twenty five? Okay, okay,
they took it perfect. Let's get our guy.

Speaker 1 (19:28):
Great. This is the kind of this is the kind
of trade up that we like. This is the kind
of trade up that we like.

Speaker 2 (19:35):
Right here, really really quick, I'd like to point out
that while we value Coach Carter's opinion, you know, he
wanted us to go get Mason pounding the table for him,
he's also requesting no scatabo slander, which is why he
is not currently on this show. But we respect his
opinion nonetheless.

Speaker 1 (19:52):
Yeah, yeah, that was great. Hey, look at that, we
got two of our guys. Hey, we fix the offense. Now,
we got to find a defensive and and you.

Speaker 2 (20:01):
Know what, coach, the best part about this is we
were able to get the best player available on our board.
Uh and they both feel probably the biggest needs that
we have.

Speaker 1 (20:11):
I agree, Hey, George, we're doing We're doing a great
fucking job here, we're doing.

Speaker 2 (20:17):
Coach, I would say that the next two damn, what
are you? What are you upset about? Their coach? Did
you want to double dip it tight end and and
ferguson in here.

Speaker 1 (20:29):
Hey, we've got a situation now because somehow Jared will
Let's on the board, somehow Jared Wilson is still on the.

Speaker 2 (20:36):
Board, and somehow Jordan Phillips is still on the board, and.

Speaker 1 (20:40):
Somehow Jordan Phillips is still on the board. Let's take
a quick peek at the defensive lineman here. Okay, okay,
whoa hey, hey, now, hey, now, I'm good with I'm
good with I'm good with any one, two, three, four
of these guys.

Speaker 2 (20:58):
And just so everybody is we are we are not
cool with Dion Walker.

Speaker 1 (21:03):
I mean I like him, but not here.

Speaker 2 (21:06):
Not even remote here, close to here.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
Not here.

Speaker 2 (21:09):
Yeah, and here's the thing, coach, Jordan Phillips would be
a fantastic ad a little bit shorter arms, but he
also can play just about every position on the defensive line,
and so you know what he doesn't have in that
arm length he more than makes up for and a
motor in his motor and also his violent hands, something

(21:31):
that I really like about Jordan Phillips here. Now, if
you're okay with waiting, depending on how much you like
Phillips there, I think Jamari Caldwell is much more that
that big bodied force that we need. He's not a
guy that's going to really get after the quarterback a
lot here, coach, but he's going to be able to

(21:51):
push the line of scrimmage and allow our edge defenders
to actually set an edge. Our biggest problem here on
the defensive line is a lack of beef. Okay, we
have some absolute studs, but we are just a little
thin in the pants. So if you want to wait
for a guy like Caldwell or even a guy like

(22:14):
jj here, I think that is a I think that
is the move so less if you want to trade
down good about Jordan Phillips here. Why don't we take
a look at some offers. Okay, why don't we take
a look at some offers?

Speaker 1 (22:29):
Yeah, green Bay, Green Bay wants to move up a
couple of picks. Houston, New Orleans is calling. I don't
feel like doing him any favors right now. Those sons
of bitches didn't answer when I when I wanted to
call for nine. Fuck you, Andy, what do you think, Houston?

Speaker 2 (22:53):
I can't see the numbers here, Coach, You're gonna have
to he.

Speaker 1 (22:56):
Sorry, sorry, Houston. At eighty nine, we have our seventh round.
We have our seventh round pick, it looks like but
they don't really have much to offer outside of that.
I I kind of want to get a couple of picks.

Speaker 2 (23:08):
Why don't you know, coach? Yeah, why do we Why
don't we drop down a little bit further and get
a little bit more in return?

Speaker 1 (23:13):
Hey, hey, Seattle has ninety two. Uh let's see, uh.

Speaker 2 (23:24):
Uh, let's try to get why didn't you in uh
why didn't you throw in a third or fourth round
or for next year? From that? Oh? Very okay, Yeah,
they don't want to do that, all right, They're gonna
play a little bit of hardball.

Speaker 1 (23:40):
Okay, what if we did a what if we did? Ah,
we send them our twenty twenty seven to six and
they send us Cleveland's twenty twenty six sixth. How's that?

Speaker 2 (23:50):
Why do you Why don't you bump that up to
the fifth next year for them.

Speaker 1 (23:55):
Well, if that's the case, then then I want let's
just swap fifths next year. Let's just swap it.

Speaker 2 (24:05):
Yeah, I'm good with that. Okay, call it in.

Speaker 1 (24:10):
Accepted it. Took it idiots?

Speaker 2 (24:15):
Oh fuck, Well, but we figured Phillips would go.

Speaker 1 (24:20):
Yeah, okay.

Speaker 2 (24:24):
Oh, now here's a here's an interesting discussion that I
want to have with you, coach. Yeah, we do need
another we do need another wide receiver.

Speaker 1 (24:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (24:34):
And if you scroll down there a little bit, I
think you will see a guy who has an incredibly
high ceiling. Tess John's a little bit of a low floor.
And Sabian Williams.

Speaker 1 (24:46):
Bo already talked to me about test. I told him,
not a fucking chance, I said.

Speaker 2 (24:52):
I told him, I'm glad that you had that conversation
with him, so I didn't have to.

Speaker 1 (24:55):
I told him I already did you as solid last
year by trading up for Troy. Okay, if if we
take Tess Johnson we go back to Buffalo for the playoffs,
he's gonna blow away before kickoff? What do you mean?
I can't put him on the field.

Speaker 2 (25:09):
And I also let him know that Coach Carter is
a full thirty pounds heavier than Teses Johnson here Man,
we are considering if we are considering wide receiver, and
we certainly can wait. Big Tory Horton fan, big Kyle
Williams fan, none of those guys, though, Pat has something

(25:30):
has what Savion Williams has, and that is just the
sheer size to go with explosiveness and athletic ability. His
lack of production does worry me a little bit. But
you talk about a guy who once he kind of
finally found his stride, I mean, former quarterback, so he

(25:51):
knows that he understands that part of the game. He's
a kick returner if we ever want Marvin to be
a few time wide receiver. And once he yeah, once
he once Saveon really came into his own, he became
an absolute star. Now it is a little bit of
a risky pick, but because we've traded back again and

(26:12):
we've stockpiled some picks, this might be a good time
to take a shot, because as you can see after Savion,
there's a pretty decent drop off in wide receivers. You know,
I'm a big Tory Horton fan, but he's coming off
that injury. We don't know if he's going to lose
any of his explosiveness. I'm a big Kyle Williams fan,
but I think he's just more of a really solid guy.

(26:34):
One of the big knocks in this class, Coach, is
that there are not a lot of wide receiver ones.
And I think if Savion Williams can continue on this
trajectory because he has size and speed that you simply
cannot teach. Like to put it into perspective, he is
about as big and as fast as Demarius Thomas when

(26:55):
he was coming out.

Speaker 1 (26:57):
You know who I had in New Orleans? Do you know?

Speaker 2 (27:02):
And you had a lot of guys in New Orleans, Coach.

Speaker 1 (27:04):
Yeah, I had. I had Ted ted Gin. Okay, I
brought him in. I saw what that. I saw what
that dude could do. Okay. I like speed, I like size.
I could work with that. I could mold that. Now.

Speaker 2 (27:20):
Look and right now, keep in mind, we have guys
that either they are either big or fast. We don't
have a big and fast guy. I listen.

Speaker 1 (27:31):
I don't know what is going on with Court, but
I'm sick of a ship. You either take the the
ten million dollars that I'm offering you or right I'll
move you.

Speaker 2 (27:43):
I wouldn't hold your people.

Speaker 1 (27:46):
No.

Speaker 2 (27:47):
I think we were getting a little bit of We're
getting a little bit of fan input here. Coach william
is requesting Isaiah Bond, would you like to tell him no?
Or should I?

Speaker 1 (27:57):
I'm good, William.

Speaker 2 (27:59):
We appreciate the no. I appreciate you you listening, and
thank you for your input.

Speaker 1 (28:04):
I like a project. I like a project. You know,
I want to I want to make sure that Marv
uh you know, Mims. Look when you watch the tape
save me on Williams just bop so big contested catch
guy as well. I'm I'm down with I'm down with

(28:26):
taking a risk. I'm down with taking a risk. Should
we take that risk?

Speaker 2 (28:32):
You know, I'm incredibly high on Williams. Coach, I'm good here.

Speaker 1 (28:37):
Done.

Speaker 2 (28:38):
Coach Carter would let us would like us to know
that if Caldwell is not a lock at one oh one,
he is quitting his internship and leaving for a new team.
So why don't we go ahead and pull those interior
defensive linemen up right now?

Speaker 1 (28:52):
I say we do it. I say there's.

Speaker 2 (28:54):
Another guy that Coach Carter's pounding the table for. And
keep in mind, Coach this. This is a beefy be
feed boy. This is exactly what we need in our
defensive line. We have guys that can get after the quarterback.
We have guys that can help the edge, guys set
the edge. We just need a big, thick body to

(29:15):
plug up that middle. And I think that's exactly what
Caldwell can give us. I know you're interested in trading
back here. I think it's this point two spots.

Speaker 1 (29:27):
Okay, two spots, and we get one eighty eight and.

Speaker 2 (29:34):
Go ahead and pull the trigger on that. We'll bounce
back to the fourth round. Shut up, siria, nobody asked you.

Speaker 1 (29:46):
Oh my god, they traded up to take tees. It's
Troy Franklin all over again.

Speaker 2 (29:51):
Oh that's fantastic. Tennessee is going to be in hell
for a long time. All right.

Speaker 1 (29:57):
I'm good, Coach Carter.

Speaker 2 (29:58):
You do not have to do not have to resign.
Jamari Caldwell is a Denver bronco I feel fantastic about that,
pig coach. Uh, why don't you pull up how we're
looking so far?

Speaker 1 (30:09):
Absolutely listen, Look when you when you talk about what
we did well on offense last year, I think a
lot of our runs were good runs. We just had
poor execution.

Speaker 2 (30:25):
Hampton's gonna be I think a lot of our I
think a lot of our good runs were because of
bo Coach.

Speaker 1 (30:30):
Hampton is going to be transformative in this offense. Uh
Mason Taylor is a guy that we can bring along. Look,
I'm gonna run some four tight end sets this year. Okay,
if we're counting Evan Ingram as a tight end, I'm
gonna count him as a I'm gonna count him and
we're gonna run some four tight end sets. Okay, just

(30:50):
in certain situations, not all the time. Saving on Williams,
I think that I think six with that speed, good
contested catch guy. I think we could bring.

Speaker 2 (31:03):
Him along, and he's trending in the right direction. That's
that's the important part, real quick. Coach william wants to know.
Do you like Travion Henderson Love Travion love nothing. I
can not love him as much as Omari and Hampton.
And there's a reason that Hampton will not make it
past twenty because I firmly believe if he actually drops

(31:25):
to the Broncos, that he's not getting past them. I'm
also pretty much convinced that he's going top fifteen. So
if and when they miss out on Omari and Hampton
William absolutely I love Traveon Henderson. I have not yet
been convinced that they should take him at twenty like

(31:46):
has been thrown around a little bit, and I think
that's a little bit of draft fatigue, especially the mock
draft fatigue here. I do love Travian Henderson, I think
ideally like that. The highest that I would take him,
I think is if you trade back to like, you know,
thirty or thirty two, you know, one of these back
end teams, Like if if Philadelphia were to trade up,

(32:06):
you have the last pick of the first round. I'm
okay with taking Henderson there. You get the fifth year option,
which is a running back is nice to have. But
anything before that I think is a little too rich
for tray Byon Henderson. Uh, Coach, how are we looking
right now?

Speaker 1 (32:22):
We're looking good.

Speaker 2 (32:24):
And then and let's let's keep in mind here, coach,
like everything that we do really from here on out,
this is just going to kind of be the icing on.
We've got. We've got the meat potatoes, Coach, let's go
ahead and add some side dishes.

Speaker 1 (32:38):
We've got three fourth round things. How do we do this? Okay, look,
I think, Uh.

Speaker 2 (32:48):
Oach, how do you how do you like a guy
like Jack Kaiser, you know, typical Notre Dame linebacker, like
not the most athletic guy, but a true blue leader
and a playmaker. But keep in mind, coach, like in this,
in this defense that we're running, the linebackers don't have
to be yeah large, No, I know, I know JJ

(33:08):
can do a lot with undersized linebackers.

Speaker 1 (33:11):
I'm also thinking, what if we added another another defensive
back to this room?

Speaker 2 (33:17):
Uh, you know, would you have in mind? Coach?

Speaker 1 (33:19):
I love, Look, Moss played great for us. Mathis didn't
get a whole lot of snaps last year. He's also
in the final year of his deal.

Speaker 2 (33:30):
Yeah, there's a good chance Mathwis doesn't make this team, Coach.

Speaker 1 (33:32):
We need I feel like we've got to add a
little bit of depth, either at corner war at safety.
I know we talked about taking a safety in the
first round.

Speaker 2 (33:43):
Coach, I know you're really high on on Zi Alexander
here and I am as well. Fantastic ball skills.

Speaker 1 (33:51):
William seven interceptions last year, that's kind of crazy.

Speaker 2 (33:55):
Yeah, And honestly, Zi might be the most underrated corener
uh in this class.

Speaker 1 (34:02):
Yeah, I mean I think I think we could I
think we could stand to I think we could stand
to add one. Uh, But I don't know what do
you what are you thinking? Because we got some we
got some interesting options here. I really I think up
and Stout is a fun prospect, but maybe not here

(34:23):
at one twenty two. So this is just our options
here at corner and safety and linebacker. I like Kaiser.
I love Alexander Billy Bowman junior as well from the
University of Oklahoma. Boy, this kid can come downhill. He
can cover the flats really really well.

Speaker 2 (34:41):
Well and and remember coach, like I am here for
the depth. And I know that you know, Brandon had
a great year last year and it was a little
bit above his head. Hopefully that was the system that
VJ runs. And I know that Whufunga has had a
little bit of you know, obviously the injury stuff in
the past. But uh, we might want to consider, you know,
like we had discussed earlier, one of those free safety

(35:03):
type or center field type of free safeties and one
of those roaming free safeties. Because we have two guys
I can kind of like come down into the box.

Speaker 4 (35:12):
Uh yeah, yeah, I think ideally we want to find
a you know, a different breed of safety at this point.

Speaker 1 (35:25):
Well, Bowman's got almost four hundred snaps deep last year
and the year before that over four hundred. I think
that would be a fun get, you know.

Speaker 2 (35:36):
I ask you this real real quick. Yeah, any offensive
lineman that we need to be taking to look.

Speaker 1 (35:42):
Let's take it. Let's take a peek. Let's take a
peek here.

Speaker 2 (35:45):
There's there's going to be a few now, Coach, you know,
I love Willie Lampkin because he's hilariously short and has
long arms.

Speaker 1 (35:54):
Just a bunch of dog in him. I tell you what, Guys,
guys just as tall as I am. I like it.

Speaker 2 (36:02):
And in his long as his arms are about twice
as long as ours.

Speaker 1 (36:08):
I don't know. Uh oh, luke, Candra, if we want
to talk about maybe you know, moving on from powers
also Seth McLaughlin's here. We don't need to start him
right away. He doesn't need to. He doesn't need to
come in and take ref right away. He can recover
come along. I don't know.

Speaker 2 (36:25):
And coach, keep in mind that if it wasn't for
the injury, McLoughlin arguably is the best center in this class,
and not only the best center in this class, but
maybe the best center by a pretty wide margin.

Speaker 1 (36:39):
I don't know, what do you think should we take? Uh?
Should we take a chance on him?

Speaker 2 (36:44):
I think it's still a little bit early, Coach. I
think his medicals are scaring away a lot of teams.
I don't think we need to reach right now. Why
don't you just go ahead with the player that you
have highest on your board currently, who's obviously your buddy
Dylan Gabriel.

Speaker 1 (37:04):
That fraud is that absolute fraud, that's actual, Coach, Pat.
Oh oh, okay, hang on, now, do we want to
add to the edge room. We've got three picks here,
We've got three picks in the fourth, so we could
add some gifts.

Speaker 2 (37:24):
We've we've we've done a, we've done a we've done
a fantastic job of of of trading back and also
trading up in stockpiling picks. And to be perfectly honest, Coach,
we are putting on an absolute fucking clinic right now.

Speaker 1 (37:38):
I agree. Uh. Look, I'm fine with adding a linebacker
with one of these three picks, but I think this
should be where we add some depth to the secondary.
So I think we I think we should go with
Zia Alexander six. He's got the length, good ball skills,
great production, really low passer rating when thrown two I think.

Speaker 2 (38:02):
Tough to miss on a d B from LSU. Coach.

Speaker 1 (38:07):
Yeah, And I think that, uh, you know, having him
and Moss would be a good combination because we'd be
able to, you know, we would have a guy that
we can bring along, doesn't have to be the guy
out the gate. Uh. But it's also insurance for if
Riley goes out again with another injury.

Speaker 2 (38:27):
Absolutely well and and and coach, this is this is
what's great is having options, right, Like we we think
that Abrams drained, like if if McMillian, if we don't
retain him past this year since he was an e
r F A, or if you know, if he doesn't
take that next leave, you know, could Abrams drain play
in that slot? Could we maybe move Riley over into
the slot?

Speaker 1 (38:47):
Uh?

Speaker 2 (38:48):
If dis could he be outside on the other side
of Pat. So I like this pick a lot. I
think it gives us a lot of freedom. And Zi
can play special teams. Really good size for a corner
And I think this is excellent value here all right.

Speaker 1 (39:05):
Now, how do we feel about adding another running back
with one of these picks?

Speaker 2 (39:11):
Well, Coach, the guy gotta keep it out. And I'll
tell you this, I am incredibly high on Baseheal Tutin,
the fastest running back in the class. I think he's
he's what a lot of people like want McLoughlin to
be and what some people think McLoughlin is. Had a
few had a few issues with fumbles, coach, But on

(39:34):
this list here, I have the highest grade on Berchhard
Smith by a pretty wide margin. Uh, in terms of
how he fits our offense. I know that you like
your running backs able to catch the ball. Burchard was
a converted wide receiver. So think Tyrone Tracy last year,
but better and a little bit more explosive. And we

(39:55):
saw the success that Tracy had out in New York
with that dog shit of a TA. So I think
we already got our bell cow In Hampton, sharp hm
and not only an excellent pass catcher, coach, one of
the best blocking running backs in this class. This is

(40:16):
this is your stereotypical perfect Sean Payton third down running back,
sold got me and he can play in the slot
if we need him to coach.

Speaker 1 (40:27):
I love going in empty.

Speaker 2 (40:28):
This might be the greatest This might be the greatest
mock draft that has been that has been done. It
almost doesn't matter, Like I think, the only thing that
could ruin this is if we take Dylan Gabriel at
some point.

Speaker 1 (40:39):
I'm not touching that short little fuck. Not a chance.
Someone called him left handed Russell Wilson, and I said,
I he wishes he had the arm strength of Russell Wilson.

Speaker 2 (40:50):
My god, honestly God.

Speaker 1 (40:52):
Uh look, McLoughlin's still here. McLaughlin is still here. Are
we wrapping a putter?

Speaker 2 (41:01):
We could or we could just or we could just
sign a dude from the uf L.

Speaker 1 (41:08):
True. Joanah Monheim is also here. That's a name that
kind of intrigues me a little bit. Big som bitch, bitch.

Speaker 2 (41:16):
What which which of these guys? Because Joanah is a
little bit of a better athlete, uh, Seth is a
little bit more of a technician. Jonah definitely needs to
get stronger. I certainly not opposed going center because you,

(41:37):
you and I both.

Speaker 1 (41:42):
Know that.

Speaker 2 (41:45):
Wattenberg is not long for this world. Then I'm absolutely
fine with it if you. This is what's nice, Coach.
We all of the holes and at this point it's
really just.

Speaker 1 (42:00):
You lagged. You just lagged so bad.

Speaker 2 (42:06):
Yeah, that was I'm seeing it. I don't know what's
going on with my internet connection here.

Speaker 1 (42:11):
The goddamn war room needs to reset their modem. Look,
I'm good with I'm good with taking McLaughlin here.

Speaker 2 (42:22):
You know, I wouldn't Walton Penner group to to pay for.

Speaker 1 (42:30):
Oh no, it's happening. He's he's crashing. I'm going to
do the rest of the mock draft.

Speaker 2 (42:37):
Uh hey, hey, now and.

Speaker 1 (42:45):
Tell it. Tell her to shut off the Wi Fi.
Tell her to shut off the Wi Fi. This is ridiculous.
What kind of Mickey Mouse WiFi do you have? My god? Uh,
not here. But I wouldn't mind taking this guy, so
maybe we can shelve the the guard talk until the
later rounds. There's also Jake Majors. I wouldn't mind going

(43:08):
center here, but uh, looking at the linebackers, can you
hear me now? I can barely, but you're frozen. It's
rough out here. Oh, Danny Stutsman is still available. That

(43:29):
would be a fun pick as well. That would be
a fun pick. Mm hm hmm. I don't know if
we just want to add, if we want to add,
if we want to add a guy, If we want
to add a guy to the linebacker room and he
doesn't have to play right away, he can play special teams.
I wouldn't hate this. I wouldn't hate that one bit

(43:51):
edgroom looks kind of sad now U saveing on Jones though.

Speaker 2 (43:55):
Mmm mm mm hmmm.

Speaker 1 (43:58):
A fifteen point one pass uh pass rush win rate.
I like that. I like that quite a bit. He's
got some moves. Ah. I think we could add I
think we could add an edge, we could add another
pass rusher here. I'm just not super impressed with the
rest of these in tier linebackers. We'll wait for the

(44:22):
GM to get back in here. This is absolutely ridiculous
that our GM can't figure out his Internet issues, but
it is what it is. Let us know in the
comments what you think of the mock draft so far.
I think it's going very well, minus the fact that
our GM is not in the room. I think we've

(44:45):
hit pretty well. We filled a lot of holes, We've
done a lot of good. I think right now we're
just focused on adding depth and and adding guys that
can play special teams and develop into eventual star. Especially
with this last fourth round pick. That's kind of where
we're what we're adding here. How funny would it be

(45:08):
if I just took like quinn Ewers and then Mario
comes and sees it. Should I chat chat? Should I?
Or Riley Leonard? Oh my god? He would he ship
his pants. I'm not gonna do Gabriel because that's just
too predictable. But if I took fuck, he's back, damn it. Hello,

(45:37):
Oh no, he's dying. Chat he's dying. You have y'all
have hellipicks, do ears, I'll do yours. Let's do it here,
you go three two one. I can't. I can't. My

(45:58):
gut is my I was telling me no, just for
the laughs. Honestly, since he's taken so long, I'm just
gonna he'll be available. He'll be available in the sixth
I promise.

Speaker 2 (46:17):
This.

Speaker 1 (46:18):
Next year's Joe Milton, Oh my god. Yeah, everybody's gonna
want to trade for Queen yours after spending one season
with Sean Payton. That would be hilarious. Uh. If we
are talking seriously about quarterbacks though, Like they're not going
to draft a quarterback, I don't think, especially after signing Ellinger,
which signing Ellinger hilarious. Uh oh my god, there he is.

(46:43):
I almost took I almost I almost took Quinn yours
because I would I would have reached.

Speaker 2 (46:49):
I would have I would have reached. I would have
reached right through here and slapped you.

Speaker 1 (46:54):
What happened your your internet? Just you know, I wish
that I knew.

Speaker 2 (46:58):
I pay I pay a lot of money for my
internet and we've never had an issue before, but here
we are.

Speaker 1 (47:04):
Damn uh I was I was about to talk about quarterbacks.
I know that he They brought in Max Brosmer for
a visit, which looking looking at like what he was
able to do. He hit a lot of stuff over
the middle of the field, so I wouldn't be surprised
if he was like a UDFA camp guy. And I

(47:29):
know there was some interest with Graham Mertz. Brady Cook
had some interesting throws, but he he was awful. He
was supposed to be so good this last year he
fell off. So yeah, I've had glitch's glitchy.

Speaker 2 (47:43):
Yes, well, I'm on my phone. So we're doing our
best right now, coach, We're.

Speaker 1 (47:49):
Doing good, Okay, I was gonna say, uh, for linebackers,
I don't know. I think, uh, I think we should
take one here, maybe Stutsman or Kobe King. I don't know.
We just need a we need a guy that we
can develop and have play special teams. But Kobe King

(48:10):
is kind of interesting. Six to one, almost two fifty,
pretty good grades. Stutsman, I know he's got uh. I
mean he's that's a big boy six really good run defender.

Speaker 2 (48:28):
Stutsman. He's a big, big, nasty guys. Sorry, I have
to I have to like focus back in and channel
my inner calm. George Payton, Like, I thought we were
doing such a good job in our character and all
this bullshit really threw me off. So let me let
me recenter. Yeah, yeah, I think I really like Stutsman.
But I don't think there's there's really no no wrong

(48:49):
call here. So since you're Sean Payton and you have
full dominion over the GM coach, I'm gonna go ahead
and let you have finals.

Speaker 1 (48:57):
So I like guys. I like guys. I can come downhill,
and we need to get better in the run, you know,
we need we need to get better against the run.
You know, that's why we brought in green Law. Dre
is a great player, He's been a great player. I
think that this would be, you know, this would be
a solid pick for us. So I'm gonna go ahead
and do it. It's not going to be highly graded

(49:18):
by PFF, but I think we'll be fine. Fast forward,
that's it.

Speaker 2 (49:24):
I think that's a good place to to pull a
trigger on a guy like that cout which I agree.

Speaker 1 (49:30):
I agree.

Speaker 2 (49:31):
I think you know, and I mean, hey, you know,
really worst case scenario, he can he can fill in.
He can fill in when he needs to. He'll be
a really good special team or very really good locker
room guy. Teammates love him, a.

Speaker 1 (49:45):
Real lunch pale type guy.

Speaker 2 (49:47):
I mean, if if we can, if we get Singleton
and what he's become, I think we'll we'll do. I
think we'll be okay with Stutsman.

Speaker 1 (49:55):
Well, what kind of guy is out single time? We're
not gonna talk about that.

Speaker 2 (50:02):
Well, I don't think discussion.

Speaker 1 (50:06):
Okay, what about what about we're in the six now
we've got three picks.

Speaker 2 (50:13):
Coach coach, I like uh, I like Jack Nelson a lot. Coach.
I like he is a big boy. He is one
of your He is one of your typical Wisconsin offensive lineman.
He's not going to jump off the page, but he
is as solid as they come. Uh, very well. Could
be a Garrett Bowles replacement as early as next year.

Speaker 1 (50:35):
I'm good with that. Let's take him. That's a that's
a that's.

Speaker 2 (50:40):
A fire pick there, that's a fantastic pick.

Speaker 1 (50:44):
Now, Jonahs still on the board. H I you know,
if we're talking about he needs to add more strength,
I think I'm good with waiting with Forsyth. I think
I think I'm good with waiting for Forsyth. I think
there's an opportunity he can. You know, he can get
a little better in pass pro this year, but he
was still he was still decent. Uh, he wasn't the

(51:05):
best at pass pro.

Speaker 2 (51:06):
But man, hopefully, hopefully you have the foresight for foresight.

Speaker 1 (51:12):
Got I hope so we could double dip at Uh,
we could double dip at Wisconsin here and take our
boy Hunter Woler.

Speaker 2 (51:23):
I do. I'm gonna tell you this, coach, if if
we're wanting to target a safety here, I think it's
gotta be.

Speaker 1 (51:28):
Malachi Malachi Moore.

Speaker 2 (51:33):
Hmm, okay, I think he is. He is the type
of safety that we do not have right now.

Speaker 1 (51:44):
Okay, I'm good with that. I like that pick Alabama guy.

Speaker 2 (51:51):
That doesn't go wrong with an Alabama defensive back.

Speaker 1 (51:55):
All right, last pick coming up?

Speaker 2 (51:59):
Want trade?

Speaker 1 (52:00):
Want to trade?

Speaker 2 (52:01):
If you I was just gonna say, if you'd like
to if you'd like to trade back. Joey Dix up
in the up in the house. Hey, Joey, thanks for
joining us show.

Speaker 1 (52:12):
Joey dis Joey Dix.

Speaker 2 (52:15):
Uh My, that's my brother, Joey Dix. Paul, thank you
for listening, Paul. And we'll address this really quick. Uh Tz.
The answer to the question TZ is a very clear
and concise fuck no.

Speaker 1 (52:32):
Tesz.

Speaker 2 (52:33):
Johnson was taking coach Coach Carter had posted the question earlier.
Should we draft a punter?

Speaker 1 (52:39):
Now?

Speaker 2 (52:39):
If you'd like to trade back here, you know, maybe
we add like two sevenths or you know, a late
sixth and a seventh and eventually take a punter. I
think that would be fantastic. Shout out, Joey Dix. Go ahead,
like the stream, top tier content is happening, and if

(53:01):
there's anyone that knows about content, it's Joey Dix.

Speaker 1 (53:05):
Okay, listen, here's here is The offer UH Cleveland.

Speaker 2 (53:10):
Is offering is just deep and trim, NonStop.

Speaker 1 (53:14):
Cleveland is offering to send us two sixteen and two
fifty four for two oh eight along with Deshaun Watson.

Speaker 2 (53:25):
Well, why don't we go ahead and take Deshaun Watson
all the way the fuck out of there?

Speaker 1 (53:30):
And you whoa, Hey, they're offering us, Jerry Judy, should
we take us? I'm just kidding yourself.

Speaker 2 (53:38):
Op the deal.

Speaker 1 (53:41):
Let's get we could get a seventh from for Seattle,
seventh next year from Cleveland. Uh to move down to
two sixteen for two o eight.

Speaker 2 (53:57):
Coach, let me tell you this, I would very much
like two more picks, even if we don't go after
a punter. I think, you know, we could. We could
take a look at some depth on the on the line,
and you know what, I wouldn't mind adding a blocking
tight end because we do only have Taylor as of now.

(54:17):
I think I think that's perfect. I'd like to take
a look at a guy like Dipper, who I don't
think is going to go much sooner than all of this,
who is purely a blocking tight end. I think you'll
really like. He's basically an additional left tackle out there.

Speaker 1 (54:36):
Okay, oh oh, hang on, now, I think we got
to take I think we got to take that.

Speaker 2 (54:46):
I think both of our guys are are right there. Yep.
I think I think Jackson Slater here is incredible value.
I think he could easily take over for Powers next
year if he needs to. And you know, we have
a very good hit rate on small school, uh, interior
or offensive lineman. Coach, but you don't I do.

Speaker 1 (55:04):
Diprey gone fuck, Ty, Robinson gone too, Gadson gone.

Speaker 2 (55:10):
Mm. Well we have Againston. All right, let's take a
look here, coach, last pick of the draft, all of
our draft.

Speaker 1 (55:22):
We could get it.

Speaker 2 (55:23):
I'm gonna be I'm gonna be perfectly honest with you, coach.
I have not researched punters.

Speaker 1 (55:29):
Now, we did have a couple of correspondents at the
Senior Bowl.

Speaker 2 (55:33):
Because I'm holding on to the fact that we can
just sign a UFL guy.

Speaker 1 (55:37):
Yeah, uh, we did have a couple of correspondents down
at the Senior Bowl. They said that the Florida punter
was quote unquote booming the ship out of balls. Uh,
and that would be Crosshaw.

Speaker 2 (55:51):
No, No, coach, keep in mind that one of our
correspondents was in fact, was in fact fuck boy Frankie.
So let's just keep that in mind.

Speaker 1 (55:58):
Whoa whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa whoa. Hey nom.

Speaker 2 (56:04):
Hmm.

Speaker 1 (56:07):
Now you said a blocking tight end. Okay, that's interesting.
I don't really see I don't really see anyone hear that. Yeah, No,
get the fuck out of here.

Speaker 2 (56:19):
Yeah, that's that's that. I the who was the who
was the tight end that you were incredibly high on?
Is he even on PFF board here?

Speaker 1 (56:29):
No? I don't think so.

Speaker 2 (56:30):
Tight end?

Speaker 1 (56:32):
Yeah, college you actually we actually had a top thirty
visit with yep. Ye, big, big motherfucker six seven two fifty.

Speaker 2 (56:42):
Pretty sure there's some big samoan dude.

Speaker 1 (56:44):
Yeah, he's the brother of the law to that was
drafted last year.

Speaker 2 (56:50):
That's right. Yeah, if you know in the comments Andy,
if anyone in here, it would probably be Andy or Carter.
If you know the the Washington tight end Latu that
we're talking about it, if you can remember his first
they brought go ahead and they.

Speaker 1 (57:04):
Brought this guy in for a visit. Trey Wedding big
Stick seven nineteen. We brought him in for a visit.
He's still on the board.

Speaker 2 (57:14):
What do you think, Well, that's a it's a large
human tackle. Yeah, I don't hate it. I don't hate it.
Why don't we can we take a look at the
receivers here real quick? See there's a situational guy that. Yeah,
Kyne Lacy is all the way No, And if you

(57:35):
don't know why, then you might need to educate yourself
a little bit. Uh, is is Tesla still to slav.

Speaker 1 (57:45):
Is?

Speaker 2 (57:45):
He is? He long gone?

Speaker 1 (57:46):
Long gone?

Speaker 2 (57:48):
And I don't I don't hate Rock Taylor here, coach,
you know one of these typical Memphis like hyper athletic
Memphis guys.

Speaker 1 (57:59):
Yeah, yeah, let's take a little at the quarterbacks really quick.

Speaker 2 (58:04):
Thank you, Andy, Lucky Latoo. That sounds about right, big Samoan, yep.
That's why Andy will be joining us for the next
segment of Engage eight coming in two weeks. Fun little
teaser there. Andy will be with us. Do you want
to Nope? I absolutely do not. I don't want Shiloh

(58:26):
Sanders anywhere near my team. Please.

Speaker 3 (58:28):
Ah.

Speaker 2 (58:29):
Wow, we want to draft good players, coach, Wow?

Speaker 1 (58:34):
Uh, do you want to add another pass rusher here?

Speaker 2 (58:40):
I think at this point an edge would be nice.
You know, it's it's and I know we're of the
mindset that you should always be adding edges the coach.
I think the people that are really high on that,
I don't think that they appreciate Dendre Tillman nearly as
much as they should.

Speaker 1 (58:55):
No, they don't, not not nearly as much, not nearly
as much. I don't know, what do you think edge rusher, tackle, uh, safety,
Let's see we still got I don't have a lot
of tight end options. Or we could just go with

(59:16):
a punter cross all.

Speaker 2 (59:19):
You know, at this point, might as well just get
a punter deal. Hey, look at that, and that will
do it.

Speaker 1 (59:34):
Let's do it around.

Speaker 2 (59:37):
We do not give one red scent ship about the
grade of PFF.

Speaker 1 (59:46):
This is. This is actually a fantastic class.

Speaker 2 (59:49):
I feel mal like I'm Moore getting an F at
the end of the sixth crazy diabolical.

Speaker 1 (59:56):
That's crazy to me.

Speaker 2 (59:57):
If now it's altered, Latesig getting a C plus is diabolical.

Speaker 1 (01:00:02):
If if Denver came away and chat let us know,
because if Denver came away with this class and made
these moves.

Speaker 2 (01:00:12):
And what were the what were the what were the
picks that we ended up adding for next year? So
what do we give up, what did we add for
twenty six.

Speaker 1 (01:00:22):
We ended up adding a fourth a fifth.

Speaker 2 (01:00:30):
And that was where we swapped fifth. Right, Yeah, we
swapped Okay, that sounds fantastic.

Speaker 1 (01:00:36):
We sent a we sent a seventh next year.

Speaker 2 (01:00:41):
Yeah, So let's let's just let's just break this down
real quick. Chat Omari and Hampton again. If you were
here with us earlier, Pat and I actually traded back
and we still got them. We we don't think that
that's realistic, but for this exercise, it's like, that's what
we were given, So that's what we did. I don't
think Hampton's gonna be there in real life. In fact,

(01:01:01):
I think the Broncos are going to be in a
little bit of a tough way here. Jeff Legwoald, who
you know, covers the Broncos and is a correspondent for ESPN,
said that a lot of the gms that he has
spoken to only have about fifteen guys who they have
first round grades on in this draft, and so twenty
is a tough spot. I know, it's really popular path

(01:01:22):
for people to be like, oh, we got to trade back,
we got to trade back, we got to trade back,
and we've discussed this, but I want to reiterate, there's
there's two problems. You know. The problems are twofold here
with trading back. One, you need to find a team
willing to trade up. And to find a team that
was willing to trade up, you have to hope that

(01:01:43):
a good player falls to twenty. So can you find
so the first problem is can you find a good
enough player to trade back with or to trade back for?
Is someone going to trade up for that good player?
And if they do, are you willing to trade back
and miss out on said player? Yes, John Bpa, we've

(01:02:06):
been we've been preaching that. That's exactly what we're saying.
Mason Taylor in the second round. Here's what's funny about PFF.
Pat he will probably go sooner than this, or he
will go right around forty seven, and PFF giving it
an F. It just goes to show that their their
algorithm is flawed. Okay, Mason Taylor I think is the

(01:02:30):
second best all purpose tight end. He's not the pass
catcher that Loveland is. He's much better in line, he's
a better blocker. I think he has a little bit
more of that subtle nuance to his game that you
have to have as a tight end. It's like, if
you want to be a really productive tight end. When
you and I talked about Nate, talk to Nate Jackson,
this is the kind of tight end, he said, The

(01:02:51):
Broncos need it. Evan Ingram is fantastic. Evan Ingram is
a really really good slot receiver who can be in line.
Jayson Taylor is the kind of tight end that Nate
Jackson was referring to, a tight end in his own
right that can block and can also catch passes. Gunner
Helm is also going to be an option. Terrence Ferguson

(01:03:12):
obviously an option. Those guys, more so than your Lovelands,
your fan ins, your Gadsdens are going to be more
in line those other guys a little bit more pass
catcher is a little bit less physical. And then, yeah,
save On, I'm a really big fan of And at
this point, Pat, where you're taking Savion, I think his

(01:03:33):
ceiling is so high because of his natural ability.

Speaker 1 (01:03:38):
He is.

Speaker 2 (01:03:39):
He's one of these guys. I think he's the only
guy that could fall to the third round and ultimately
become a wide receiver one of a team. But then
his floor is also kind of low.

Speaker 1 (01:03:50):
Yeah, well, I mean, at his size too, you should
be able to teach that guy how to block at
the next level. And if that's the case, that's If
that's the case, then you've got yourself an X there.
You know, Like, we gotta remember that a lot of
the receivers that Sean Payton has made successful over the

(01:04:12):
years have not been first round picks. Michael Thomas was
not a first round pick. Oh, Buddy Meacham not a
first round pick.

Speaker 2 (01:04:21):
Was a seventh round Marcus Mark Marcus Colston not a
first round pick. I think Brady.

Speaker 1 (01:04:27):
Was was Brandon Cooks was the first round?

Speaker 2 (01:04:31):
Who was?

Speaker 1 (01:04:32):
Brandon Cooks was the first ruck? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:04:33):
I think he was the only first round wide receiver
that Sean ever took. No Bacon, if we're wrong, go ahead,
and if I'm wrong, correct me.

Speaker 1 (01:04:43):
He took no I think he took. I think Meacham
was the guy he took in the first round.

Speaker 2 (01:04:50):
I think was a first rounder.

Speaker 1 (01:04:52):
I'm pretty sure he was.

Speaker 2 (01:04:55):
That sounds crazy, I mean, anyway, I think this is
I I think that's like at that point, Pat, I
think that's a really good pick. Pat and I are
also really high on Jayden Higgins. So if we don't
trade up for Mason Taylor, you know, for the sake
of that exercise. We love Jayden Higgins. I think Higgins
is the quintessential X in this in this offense, there's

(01:05:20):
there's not or X, there's there's not a lot that
he doesn't do incredibly well. And I think he has
a better chance of being like a wide receiver one
than an Amika at Buka. And that's not a knock
on Atguka. I think a Buka is like the most
well rounded wide receiver. Like he's just the guy that
does everything well but isn't like incredible at any one thing.

(01:05:45):
And that's that's not a bad thing, Like it's really
hard to find a well rounded receiver. But honestly, like
I would rather take Higgins at fifty one than a
Buka at twenty personally.

Speaker 1 (01:05:58):
Interesting.

Speaker 2 (01:06:00):
And then of course we got my favorite player in
the class, Burchard Smith. Pat, that's one of these guys,
Like if the Broncos take Breshard Smith, who was of
course my U. He was my fallback after Nicholas Singleton.
I was devastated that he decided to go back to
school like a loser like Bled but whatever, But I
had to. I was probably making I had to, no

(01:06:23):
for sure, but I had to find my my Singleton replacement,
and I think that was Breshard Smith. I loved Tyrone
Tracy coming out last year, and honestly, like really wish
the Broncos would have taken him over Estimate. And as
still as I think about it, Pat makes no sense
to me why they didn't. Again, former wide receiver, fantastic

(01:06:45):
catching the ball out of the backfield. I don't know
if they were worried about like him toting the rock
consistently as like a bell couch, just because he didn't
have a lot of like experience as a running back.
But then you saw how well Tyrone Tracy with a
bad offense, a bad offensive line, bad team, he was

(01:07:06):
arguably one of the best picks of that entire round,
and the Broncos could have had him instead of Estimate.
That's Broshard Smith for me. But I think Brishard Smith
is better at this point than Tyrone Tracy was at
this point last year. So and if that's like your
third down running back Pat and you only need to
get him like eight to twelve touches a game, he

(01:07:28):
is more of a like that game break baker than Hampton.
So anybody worried about Hampton not being a big playback,
which is kind of funny, but they're out there Brischard
Smith can be that guy.

Speaker 1 (01:07:42):
Yeah. I think I think we did a great job
in this class of you know, filling those holes, but
also regrets drafting developmental guys who who could be you know,
average to above average starters or contributors. I think you

(01:08:04):
know you're gonna have guys like Malchi, Moore and Stutsman
playing on special teams. I think we did a great
job of boosting the offensive line depth and getting some
options like Jack Nelson if if they're gonna be running
more zone perfect like, that's a great way to get
Jack Nelson involved, even if you're using him as the

(01:08:24):
extra uh, the extra alignment, you know, shout out to
Matt part Jackson Slader is a guy that I know
of a few of the LTB guys love. That's a
dude that you know you could bring along if you're
going to invest in your coaching staff like Sean Payton
is with Zach Streef, and you're gonna give him the
title of assistant head coach, you plan on having that

(01:08:48):
guy around for a while and you plan on having
him develop these players. So I think that's the that's
the big thing that we're going to be seeing, right
and especially with guys like Alex Palchwski who's already on
the roster and did a great job filling in when
he needed to. So I think we did a great
job in filling a lot of the depth needs. We

(01:09:08):
got a punter, hallelujah. We don't have to watch old
lefty buddy kick.

Speaker 2 (01:09:15):
But you know, bring Marquette King back after the UFL season.
That's gonna be my next agenda. Bush. I'm gonna I'm
gonna keep an eye on that again and see how
he's doing. If for anything, I just want to in
d MAC. I want him in d MAC to have beef, Pat,

(01:09:36):
I want them to have beef. Remember that when he
was here and like little little short ub d MAC
was kind of was kind of happened all of camp
and I'm pretty sure we had a fake quarterback controversy
going on, and Marquette King versus d MAC was still
the most compelling thing that happened in all of training camp.

Speaker 1 (01:09:56):
That's awful. Why are you beefing with a punter, got kicks, bro,
That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (01:10:02):
And still he's like he's tough talking him, Like, dude,
look at him and look at you. What do you
what you talk? What are you tough talking this guy
for athlete?

Speaker 1 (01:10:11):
I watched Marquete King. I was at that first game
when he was warming up. Man, that dude could kick.
Shout out to Tom McMahon, who ruined his fucking career. Yeah,
good job, man, that dude can still do to football.

Speaker 2 (01:10:29):
Tom McMahon never ever, ever should have had a job.

Speaker 1 (01:10:34):
No, fuck that guy.

Speaker 2 (01:10:35):
Uh, really quick, Pat, I want to I want to
do this before we get out of here. Like obviously,
I'm just gonna do this. Is let's go ahead, and
let's go ahead and get this out of here. It's
time for everybody's save favorite segment. Pat. Oh Yeah, I'm

(01:11:02):
gonna do something a little bit different here. Pat. Instead
of me saying what's directly bricking me up, I'm gonna
throw you a curveball. That's me bricked up right now.
Is the fact that Pat is bricked up over Burton.

(01:11:23):
As you all know, I'm not the biggest Michael fan,
and it's not really his fault. I think a big
problem is they don't use him the way that they
should as much as they should. So every time that
Burton gets a touch, of course, I have Pat in
the group chat telling me to get fucked because Burton

(01:11:45):
actually did something. So if you tune into our last show,
I was teasing the idea that I would love Audric
Estimate to just put on twenty pounds. Then he would
be the same weight as Burton, same size as Burton.
Then he could be the full back. He could be
like when Peyton Hill has got drafted because he was
technically a full back, but they resigned Burton. So I

(01:12:07):
think if anybody should also be bricked up aside from Pat,
it's Adric Estimate because now he doesn't have to gain
twenty twenty five pounds to play full back. I just
wanted to take the opportunity before you had a chance
at It has me bricked up that you're bricked up
over Burton, because I think you're one of eight people

(01:12:27):
in Broncos in Broncos Land who's legit excited that Burton
is back. Oh what were we gonna do with that?
Michael Burton in his seven plays a game? Thank god
that guy's back.

Speaker 1 (01:12:41):
Are you done?

Speaker 2 (01:12:42):
I'm done?

Speaker 1 (01:12:43):
Are you finished? Okay? To finish? That's full back. Full
Back is arguably one of the most important positions in
the offense.

Speaker 2 (01:12:55):
You are a laugh riot.

Speaker 1 (01:12:57):
Okay. The run game is not the same if if
we're if if Sean is doing this blend of zone
and gap that he's been doing, you still got to
be able to run gap extremely well. And the best
way to do that is with a really good fullback.
And that's what that's what my boy Mike Burton brings.

(01:13:21):
He he he's a he's a thick boy. He's a
big guy. He plays special teams. He plays special teams.
He's out there busting his ass catching passes. Hey, he
had to deal with Russell Wilson, Okay, he he had
to deal with all of that ship. And all he
wants to all he wants to do is go out
there and throw blocks. That's all he wants to do.

Speaker 2 (01:13:43):
That's all he can.

Speaker 1 (01:13:45):
And you know what, he's damn good at it too.
He keeps getting money, he keeps getting money, he keeps
coming back.

Speaker 2 (01:13:54):
And you know what, you might as well, they might
as well. Yeah, we have somebody in the check keeps
j pgs they might have. We'll just draft him and
put him at full back.

Speaker 1 (01:14:04):
I'm gonna tell you something right now. I'm gonna tell
you something. I'm gonna I'm gonna tell you something right now. Okay,
you're doing it. You you don't talk, you don't say
those things about Michael Burton. Okay, he's a saint, not

(01:14:25):
not literally anymore. But Darren Rizzy's on the team now,
and we're gonna see a fake punt full back dive.
I guarantee it. Fourth and two full back dive, fourth
and one full back dive, goal line full back dive.
And don't you fucking forget it. Don't you fucking forget it.

Speaker 2 (01:14:45):
You're doing fucking hilarious.

Speaker 1 (01:14:51):
I love it. I love the fact that burns back.
I do think that Atkins could eventually take over that role.
I think so you just don't have the luxury that
I have.

Speaker 2 (01:15:01):
You don't have it. I'm gonna do that, and I'm
gonna lose my ship every time. My name is Mario Batanzi,
that is Patrick Keyoti. Make sure that you join us
next week. I have no fucking clue what we're gonna
talk about, because it is a dead period and uh,

(01:15:25):
you know we and we do and we don't steal
content aside from the uh you know, the the very
hilarious cold open that we did. Pat and I pride
ourselves and not stealing content. So you can bet your
bottom dollar that now that we've done this mock draft, uh,
there will be plenty of other people doing mock drafts

(01:15:46):
that follow, which means that Pat and I once again
are gonna have to come up with original content by
this time next week. But you can bet your bottom
dollar that we are going to do it because we
are the best in the visit that and in case
you missed the announcement, in two weeks time, two weeks Pat,
which is a week before the draft, we will be

(01:16:08):
doing the third installment of Engage eight. I'm gonna be
honest with you, I hit the wrong one. Let's day game.

(01:16:35):
There we go. That is the one that I was
looking for. That is when Pat and I will be
joined by six other Broncos content creators. We will have
those names for you when they are finalized, but it
will be a little bit of a draft special, so
make sure you tune in next week and two weeks
time and then guess what Pat. The show after that

(01:16:58):
will be right before or the NFL Draft, which means
that we can give our final opinions. It's finally gonna
start picking up until we hit another dead time in
uh may anything else before we get the people out
of here. Pat any final words of wisdom aside from
the fact that everyone should take creatine.

Speaker 1 (01:17:19):
Uh yeah, go Broncos. I can't wait for this draft.
It's gonna be a lot of fun. I'm really excited.
I'm glad that the Broncos are good again.

Speaker 2 (01:17:30):
Again.

Speaker 3 (01:17:36):
Hey billam in a move for Switcher? I hit the
hit the roads to that hiccup, I hit the stage,
I leave with money.
