Speaker 1 (00:09):
There's been some confusion in Broncos country, uh about what
a joker is. So pat here is going to explain
to everybody what exactly the joker entails.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
First of all, let me ask you something, Mario. Do
you want to know how I got these scars? You see,
my father was a play caller and a fiend, a legend.
One night he came home from practice crazier than usual.

(00:50):
He took his wrist coach to my cheeks, laughing as
he did it. He said, why not do it?

Speaker 3 (01:00):
Wo?

Speaker 2 (01:01):
He looks over at my mother and he says, why
not duo? And then why not duo?

Speaker 1 (01:14):
Sultitude adjustment.

Speaker 4 (01:21):
Film in a move for a switcher. I hit the
hit the rolate to that hit up, I hit the stage.

Speaker 1 (01:29):
I leave with money.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
That's a stick up. That was a terrible, terrible cold open. No.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
I thought that was fantastic because I think that that
cleared everything up. Now everybody knows now the joker is.

Speaker 2 (01:43):
Now, now we know where it came from.

Speaker 1 (01:49):
The people seem to like it. B says l O
L What Harp says? The fuck that? I just watched it? Cat,
It's specially safe to assume that Carter wasn't born when eight.
Is there a chance, is there a chance that Carter
has like not even seen that movie that he's not

(02:12):
even been able to experience the uh Heath Ledger Joker,
I'll tell you're the greatest joker of all.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
Time there there was. He definitely did not get to
experience three. He did not get to experience what it
was like that summer going to see that. I think
I went to see it eight, eight to ten times
somewhere around that. It was crazy and now it's back
out on Imax.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
It's unbelievable. We got to go see it eight, nine,
ten more times. Speaking of the joker position, we're just
going to get right into it, so Pat, some people
are saying that the Broncos sorry, aren't gonna use Evan
Ingram as a joker. Some some people are saying it, Okay,

(03:00):
we're not gonna name names, but they exist and they're
out there, despite the fact that Evan Ingram hosted a
literal gift of the Joker from the very movie that
you just quoted, So Pat, you won't hear last week,
I want you to like, this is what is your
triumphant return to altitude adjustment? We you and I haven't

(03:24):
really gotten a chance to talk about the free agent
and I know I'm breaked up. I know you're breaked up.
Like walk me, walk me through it. And most of all, Pat, like,
I want you to make sure that you can take
a lot of time with Trent Shirfield because some people
are not satisfied with the Trent Surfield signing, Okay, because

(03:46):
they want they feel like they wanted Cooper Cup and
they got Trent Shurfield. So I'll let you do that. Run
us through all the free agents. How did we do?
What do we need to see from them? Grades? However
you want to answer it?

Speaker 2 (03:59):
Take us through well, let's I mean, let's start first
with the Evan Ingram signing, right like, Uh, you said
you weren't gonna name names, all names and names. I
mean Robbie said it on full Field read right, Uh
he said, I don't. I don't think that Evan Ingram
necessarily fits the the true meaning of what that joker

(04:21):
position entails. And it's not it's not like he won't
play that role sometimes, but is he like is he
the prototypical like joker type of guy? If you think
about how it's been described not really like, are are
they gonna put Evan Ingram in the backfield and and
let him make plays out of the backfield? Probably not.

(04:44):
His best usage is is being that mismatch guy that
you can put up. You know, you can put him
in the slot, you can put him in tight alignments,
you can put it even put him out wide and
play like we talked about this today, you know, just
kind of putting those pieces that at different spots. And
this is something that you know, offensive coordinators and and

(05:04):
offensive minds will do when they understand that they have
a mismatch. The Patriots were one of the best teams
uh at doing this with Rob Gonkowski. They would put
him out wide and you know, linebacker would follow him
or safety would follow him, and it's just a mismatch.

Speaker 1 (05:20):
Nightmare, right, something that Gronk is coming out of retirement
to play for the Broncos pat allegedly, thank god, that
will have that X factor that the Patriots had all
those years.

Speaker 2 (05:33):
But as far as Ingram goes, like is he the
true joker or is this you know, uh, it is
this like very cue and playing the joker and then oh,
actually somebody else is going to play this guy? I
think it's I think it could be true. I think
he'll certainly be used as the joker sometimes. But if

(05:54):
I think of like a true joker that Sean p
like that Sean Payton would look at we're thinking and
Robbie said Alvin Kamara. I think Alvin Kamara is like
the that's like the prototypical type of guy. Reggie Bush
has been one of those names in the past. Taysom
Hill was obviously very much so in that role because

(06:17):
of how they could use him as a quarterback, a
full back, a tight end, a wide receiver, a running back.
That is like the true meaning of having a joker,
a person that can do every single thing. Is Evan
Ingram gonna take snaps out of the backfield and run
like QB power out of the flex bone. I don't

(06:38):
think so. I think that, Yeah, Victory Lap, that's a
great point. There's two jokers in the deck, right, So
while Evan Ingram might play that role in some like
some cases, depending on what the mismatch is, uh, there's
a there's another player who's probably Yeah Mems. Mems is
definitely someone who I would consider someone that you could

(07:01):
put in the joker role. Traveon Henderson from from Ohio
State is someone who's been named Obviously, Tyler Warren would
fit that role perfectly because he.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
Was willing to go up to eleven or twelve together.

Speaker 2 (07:16):
Yeah right, maybe even nine if that's the case. Right,
And I have an article coming out. I don't know
how many words is this. I think I'm sitting at
like six thousand.

Speaker 1 (07:27):
I've master how many words this is. This is like
the seventh Harry Potter book.

Speaker 2 (07:32):
Pat you need put putting my I'm literally just putting
my thoughts out. And this is I'm calling this piece
that I'm putting out on Let's talk Broncos the the
situation Room, because I'm going to take you through each
of these scenarios and like using my coach brain, my
weird brain and how that works. Kind of just explain

(07:53):
what the thought process would be for those so like
Travon Henderson, someone that they could easily target in the
draft if they did want to trade up for Ashton,
j t or Hampton. Hey, like, you gotta do what
you gotta do. But if if Sean Payton is actually
going to go after the joker, I don't think that
Evan Ingram is the guy. Now, he's going to be

(08:16):
very valuable. And I said this in the chat today too,
I'm kind of counting Evan Ingram not in the tight end.
I'm counting him just as another receiver, okay, because of
all the usage that he's gotten. It's not really an
inline guy. Like he'll play in line sometimes, but it's
it's not pretty.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
Uh deally he's not in line no, so uh I'm
kind of thinking, like Pat, I would rather him chip,
but like you're not you're not leaving him out there. Yeah,
you want him to be. He's a he's a physical
slot receiver.

Speaker 2 (08:49):
Yeah, so you know it's it's gonna be interesting to
see where they use him. And I posted some you know,
some personnel group on Twitter back when the Cooper Cup
thing was maybe still a real thing. But like you
can you can put out you know, you can put

(09:09):
out a grouping of Troutman. You know, you could disguise
it as like twelve personnel, but really it would kind
of be more eleven personnel, but Troutman, Ingram, uh you know,
whoever the running back is. And then Sutton and Cuff
was the other wide receiver that I put it the
zet right, But then you could you could just take
Troutman out, use Evan Ingram as the why and put

(09:30):
in a guy like Men's or Veley or Franklin whoever.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
Right, ten Veley play the outside.

Speaker 2 (09:37):
They they can play outside. They they can absolutely play outside.
I think that that's going to be the next progression
of Devon Vley is kind of turning him into Michael
Thomas light right, because Thomas Thomas surprisingly six four, like
two twenty ish. H doesn't look like.

Speaker 1 (09:57):
Don't forget how big how big Michaelmas was.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
And he doesn't look like that, right. He looks sleeker,
more lean, but he was a pretty built dude, and
Velay is kind of a similar built like he can
He's going to pack on a little bit more size
here as the years go on. He's gonna he's gonna
be on like aarp by his third season. So it's fine, uh,

(10:22):
but I think that's kind of the trajectory is he's
going to He's gonna play more X this season. I
think than maybe people realize. I don't think that he'll
be a replacement for Courtland, but yes, I think he
can play outside. Let's keep going with the free agents.
I don't want to spend all the time talking about
the receiver. Green Law loves the green Law signing, especially

(10:47):
the way that the contract's built.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
Oh perfect, chef's kids, that's just perfect.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
Fantastic, and the fact that San Francisco was trying so hard.
So I see at Perry being mentioned, I I need
to see what he can bring in camp. I want
to see what he brings in camp. I think that
he could be a legit guy.

Speaker 5 (11:07):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (11:08):
I just understand this weird fascination with at Perry.

Speaker 2 (11:12):
He's big, he's fast, he's a good contested catch guy. Uh,
he can block, like how did.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
He do last year?

Speaker 2 (11:20):
That's the thing. That's what I'm saying. I want to
see more. I want to see more because he's still.

Speaker 1 (11:27):
Don't I don't know. I don't mean to ship on
at Perry. Okay, I think the my my deal is
like all season we heard about bronco vinch Oh, wait
wait for at Perry to come, Wait for at Perry
to come. If he was really gonna be that big
of a difference maker, and granted I think that wasn't involved.
Is because this is a it's it's a very very,

(11:50):
very very complicated scheme for a dude that was not
familiar with it. But there were fans that were acting
like at Perry was going to be some sort of savior,
like some sort of dude that was going to come
in here and could potentially have like a seventy eighty
catch season, And he's not that guy.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
So it's shiny object. He's never gonna.

Speaker 1 (12:08):
Say that he's the second best X on the team
because that's that's insane to me, Like I need to
see him out they can he get Can he get
one offensive snap snap during the regular season before we
anoint at Perry to be anything?

Speaker 2 (12:25):
Theyle they earned his spot like he he definitely did.
He was making crazy catches. You could play him at
the F, he could play him at the Z, he
could play him with the x FU. He could play
him at the Y if you want to on an
empty But I think that he's he's just gonna be
a do it all kind of guy. Like, uh, what
did they say his comp was? Uh? Sean said that

(12:45):
he reminded him a lot of Marky's Colston and I
was like, Ship, that's kind of that's kind of perfect,
Like that's that's a dude that can you know you
can play him. You play him in tight splits and
run split zone out of it like they were doing
with little Jordan Humphrey this season. Helps in the play
action game. But he's a tough dude. He's gritty, he's
gonna do all the dirty work. And that's just the

(13:07):
kind of receiver that you want. Right.

Speaker 1 (13:10):
You tried to get started on green Law and you
got played. I know, I'm.

Speaker 2 (13:15):
Pulled me back.

Speaker 1 (13:17):
They reeled you back in with the bulls at Perry Talk.

Speaker 2 (13:21):
I'll say this, uh, one of the things and Ben
kind of said this on Broncos Country tonight, and I
know some other people have said this, uh, but like
what they're missing on this defense, especially last year, was
a true like an alpha male dog, right And and

(13:46):
this is no no offense to any of the guys,
you know, Benito and and Cooper, but like when you
have personalities like that, and I I'm gonna say this,
myke Mike Bronco camp for Dre Greenlaw. It's not a
one to one, but like this is my Broncos comp
form is Al Wilson. Al Wilson wasn't alpha dog on

(14:09):
that defense. He was he was the leader of that defense.
He helped and he helped bring along guys like DJ
Williams helped with a young Elvis Duomerville. He was around
the team. He he really inspired a lot of guys
on that defense. And I feel like Greenlaw will be.

Speaker 1 (14:31):
Yes the tone of that defense. He just defense more
of a of an identity, right because because honestly, Pat,
the identity of that defense is it's Patrick Sortan and
then everybody else kind of get in where they fit in.
Despite the fact that Cooper and Benito had fantastic gears, yeah,
and Zach Allen like it's it's it's Pat Certan's defense.

(14:54):
But that is a lot like Vaughn in the sense
that like he's a lead by example guy. Mm hmm,
like that Padd'll fire you up and you know, paddle
get in your face. But he's not He's not like
that dream Drake Greenlaw version of a captain. Pat is
like the I'm the best player on the planet, you know,
like watch me and feed off of me. That's his

(15:16):
leadership style where leaders will grab you by the face
mask and shake you.

Speaker 2 (15:22):
There's leaders, okay, and those are the guys that you
expect to hold everything together out on the field, right,
something goes wrong, something bad happens, somebody makes a mistake.
They're the leaders, are the type of guys to bring
everything back into focus. Right, perfect example you said, Patrick, Yeah, yes, uh,

(15:45):
perfect example is against the Colts. Right, He's he's telling
them like, hey, stay focused, watch for the fake, watch
for the fake. What happens? So the leaders, that's great,
But what you need on defense is just fucking dog. Yeah,
like foaming at the mouth to like barely trying to

(16:09):
get out of the chain.

Speaker 1 (16:10):
Link leash, like that got radies coming at you, Like
does that thing bite?

Speaker 3 (16:17):
Now?

Speaker 2 (16:17):
He don't bite? And then it's like like, yes, that
motherfucker bites. Okay, that's green Law. That's Whufunga.

Speaker 3 (16:25):
My only stipulation, The only thing that is holding me
back from giving this like the ultimate grade, is I
want to see them in action.

Speaker 2 (16:39):
I want to see them make it through. Give me
half a fucking season. Give me half a season. Like
if Kufunk can stay healthy, if green Law can stay healthy,
which he came back for two games last season, played fine,
like little slow, that's to be expected. Whatever, Right, if
they come back and they're healthy and ready to go,

(17:01):
I'm fucking like a plus signing because the deals are
set up great, you know they're they can easily get
out of it. Who funk it got a little more guaranteed.
He's a younger player though, right but seventeen and if.

Speaker 1 (17:15):
He can regain his form from a couple of years ago,
Pat do you do you understand? People understand what an
absolute bargain that is and like not to be stated.
Remember remember what we thought of Brandon Jones last year.
It was a man signing. Right at the time, we
were like, okay, it's a necessity. You know, he's not

(17:39):
Justin Simmons and he was asked to do very different things.
So you can't you can't compare the two. But it's
like hot, damn. Brandon Jones kind of came out of
nowhere and had a fantastic season. Yeah, and Whufonga when
he was healthy, quite Franklin was a much better center
than Brandon Jones. And that's not an indictment on Brandon Jones.

(18:00):
That's praise of Hufanga. That's how good Whufonga is. He's
an all pro. I think what his second year.

Speaker 2 (18:07):
Second season in the league, core.

Speaker 1 (18:10):
Game, Like, if you can regain eighty five to ninety
of that production with his contract, that's an absolute steal
in this market. So I'm with you, Like I liked
everything that they did, but most importantly, Pat the unsung
hero that I'm really gonna want to focus on. Like

(18:30):
we're done with the fucking at Perry talk. The only
receiver on the team we're gonna talk about now is
Trent Shirfield. Okay, the fans were The fans were boohooin
Okay because they like goat literally on a sports talk
out here. On multiple different stations, there were on air

(18:50):
talents who admitted to having to google Trent Shirfield. Now.
I know he's not a household name. I know that
he's there's not a lot of kids with number ten
Trent Sherfield jerseys running around from one of the four
teams that he's been on. But Pat, as football purists

(19:10):
like myself and yourself, you and I were hyped over
the Trent Sherfield signing. Why Pat, Because you take a
guy like treymont Smith, who we've talked about at length
on this show of being a really good special teamer
and you replace him with somebody who is arguably a
better version of treymont Smith in Trent Srfield. He's not

(19:36):
the flashy guy pat He's not He's not gonna be
a fan favorite. You know what he is. He's a
dog dog. He is a special teams dog. They needed two.

Speaker 2 (19:52):
Hundred and thirty four special team snaps, last year's second
highest total in his career. I'm really excited about the
sign Also, it's really it's a smart signing by the
organization because I know there's a lot of people out
here who listen and watch the show who don't love

(20:19):
our Hall of Famer Little Jordan Humphrey. They hate Mario there.

Speaker 1 (20:29):
I knew you were gonna find a way savior, Little
Jordan Humphrey.

Speaker 2 (20:36):
You know what I feel like?

Speaker 1 (20:37):
That's a.

Speaker 2 (20:39):
Do you know what I feel like defending Little Jordan Humphrey.

Speaker 1 (20:42):
If you haven't watched it, find the.

Speaker 2 (20:46):
Episode of I think you should leave. Uh it's the
Driving Crooner. That's how I feel defending Little Jordan Humphrey.
People fucking hate this. They want to kill me over this. Okay, Oh,
I can't tell you why, but they hate this. Like
if we could just put if we could just put
Little Jordan Humphrey right here, I'm like, people fucking hate this, Mario,

(21:10):
I think I have.

Speaker 1 (21:17):
Let me tell you, Frankie, more than anything, the reason
that I'm here for this is because Broncos Country would
have a fucking conniption fit on the same time twenty
one personnel that they ran out Lil Jordan Humphrey and
Trent Sherfield, ninety nine point nine of Broncos.

Speaker 2 (21:36):
Could you be like, what the fuck are we doing?

Speaker 1 (21:38):
It's three than four? What was Trent Shirfield on the field?

Speaker 2 (21:43):
And meanwhile, I'm just for the collective.

Speaker 1 (21:46):
Crash out, Frankie, I'm here for that.

Speaker 2 (21:48):
Meanwhile, I'm in the stands with my run the damn
ball hat. I think that for those who hate Little
Jordan Humphrey, I think that Trent Sherfield was a sign
that could essentially fill two roles, and I think that's
the idea. Do I think Little Jordan is gonna be gone? No,
I think he'll be back. He'll be there for camp uh.

Speaker 1 (22:12):
Probably not going anywhere.

Speaker 2 (22:13):
Pat Squad guy like, it'll be fine.

Speaker 1 (22:18):
He'll be as long as there's breath and Sean Payton's lungs.
He will have a job and we will have a job.
Franky Frankie, like we cut the ship. Okay, Oh my god,
if I see three of those, if I see three
of those motherfuckers on the field at the same time,
I will run naked through the streets and throw myself

(22:41):
into traffic. Question. You know, I'm fed up.

Speaker 2 (22:47):
I think my lights fucked. I think the Sherfield signing
was a good one. It's not a bad deal as well.
They get they get a key special teamer. Kind of
opens up another area for them to bring in another
defensive back. Not that Tremont Smith played a ton of defense,
but it gives it. It gives him the opportunity to

(23:08):
go in and look at adding another corner to the
room or safety whatever. Right, but more so offensively transcripted
will help in the run game, and I think that's
that's a big thing he's not gonna get. He might
not even get fifteen targets this year, and that's completely
fine with me.

Speaker 1 (23:28):
He'll have like one here, you know, he'll have one
random game, one random game where he has like eighty
seven yards and a tuddy And in most weeks it'll
be like there will be one random week where he
just kind of goes off for no reason. But for
the most part, will be like one catch for six yards,

(23:49):
two catches for thirteen yards, one catch for four like
those kinds of step lines.

Speaker 2 (23:54):
He's not, He's not like it'll be playing actions.

Speaker 1 (23:58):
As a as a weapon.

Speaker 2 (23:59):
Yeah, yeah, not as a weapon, but like in the
blocking game, like if if Sean wants to keep going outside,
which he did so much last year, if we want
to run stretch you know, uh, you know runs that
get outside, doesn't Ingram make I'll get to that in
a second mic. If if Sean is wanting to get outside,

(24:22):
surefield is a perfect pickup for that. His blocking from
even from tight splits amazing, like very like perfect wide
receiver blocking. Uh. He's able to get his shoulder turned
so he can seal off seal off edges. And I
think it's gonna be a great sign. So yes, this

(24:44):
doesn't Ingram make little Jordan Humphrey more disposable? Absolutely not.
Why because they play different positions, Ingram Ingram is not
going to be asked to do the same things that
little Jordan Humphrey would be asked to do. I think
that you still use personnel groupings with both of them
in there. It's just litl Jordan is not doing the

(25:06):
same things that Evan Ingram would be doing in this offense.
Like it wouldn't happen. I could see little Jordan Humphy
getting some run at X as well in certain group
certain groupings, but it would be more of like, we're
not actually going to the X. We just need a
guy who can block out here, right, because he's a
big dude. He's not very little, right, And like Frankie said,

(25:30):
there's just no reason to dispose of little Jordan. He's
a perfect practice squad receiver. But he's also like he
knows the offense. If if someone gets hurt, if Veyle
gets hurt, Franklin gets hurt, Sherfield gets hurt, if Ingram
gets hurt, which could happen, then you have a replacement,

(25:51):
and you have a replacement who knows the offense. Why
do we want to get rid of people who know
the offense? Right?

Speaker 6 (25:58):
And who played a who played a big rule lit
Joge Humphrey played no block, no rock and when he
no stop, when he got the rock, he did what
he could with it.

Speaker 1 (26:10):
What Pat Patrick, I love you more than I can
put into words, and I missed you and I missed
you so much the last couple of weeks not being
able to do shows with you. But shut the fuck
up about little Jordan Humphrey already. I know you you
love him, I know, And I blame Frankie. Okay, if

(26:31):
it's Frankie, could like where everything's going. Fine, We're we're following,
we're following, we're following like the bullet points of what
we want to do. And Frankie comes in here and
he he riles you up. Okay, you're just in the
cage right now, just shakes the pate, frank Jordan Humphrey.

Speaker 2 (26:55):
Frankie sees the vision.

Speaker 1 (26:57):
Okay, listen, you like little Jordan Humphrey. He's probably gonna
be on This isn't.

Speaker 2 (27:04):
Good at what we're talking about.

Speaker 1 (27:06):
Blocking, but's stop. It's okay, he's not.

Speaker 2 (27:12):
Jesus Christ.

Speaker 1 (27:13):
Next Tyler, who's not gonna rile you up, wants to
know who do you envision being our running back one
into week one? So we're gonna use transition, okay, and
we're and we're gonna get there. Pat let me tell
you who it's not gonna be, and then let me
tell you why the running back one will not be

(27:34):
Odric guestimy why he's not very good? Right, I'm not
that we've seen Listen anybody who says, oh, they need
to give Adric Estimate a chance. I want to see
what he can do. The odds of him showing you
something exponentially better than what he did last year whoa

(27:56):
very limited because and I've said this before and I'm
inn say it again, Like, if you get to talk
about Lil Jordan Humphrey every fucking week, then I get
to say this every week. Okay, you're not going to
sit Audric Estime's big dumpy ass on the bench in
favor for a dude who hadn't played in three and

(28:17):
a half months, if you have any sort of faith
in him whatsoever? Now, is there a chance Pat, that
Audric eskin Estimate could turn things around, do a complete
one eighty and be like a mark Ingram type? Sure,
just like it's there. There's a chance that you could

(28:37):
go buy a fucking lottery ticket right now and go
win the mega millions. Okay, it's never impossible, but there's
such a thing called smart money. Okay, there is a
better chance Pat of Addric Estimate transitioning to fullback than

(28:57):
he is being running back one last year. And since
we're all about pushing agendas and we're gonna and we're
gonna push it, We're gonna we're gonna push the number
one agenda leader, We're definitely gonna get to that. That's
gonna be the climax of our show. Nice oddrig Estimate
needs to put on fifteen to twenty pounds, then he

(29:21):
would be the same Then he would be the same
weight as Burton. And then you have a fifth round
running back who actually can finally serve a purpose as
a full back. And then if you want to do
the full back dive, something that Burton was fucking terrible at,
whoa in the world that oddrig Estimate can do that

(29:45):
because he's familiar with running the football assign from all
of the fumbles, and he's similar to Burton because I'm
pretty sure they ran the same forty time. So here
I am pushing my crazy ass agenda that if we
want to get something out of audric estimate, switch him
to full back.

Speaker 2 (30:05):
Uh. Lorenzo O'Neil was five eleven, two hundred and fifty
six pounds. Audric estimate is five eleven to twenty seven.

Speaker 1 (30:21):
And Neil is the greatest full back of all time.
We don't need him to be Lorenzo Neil. We need
to meet Michael. He's already on the roster. Whoa, whoa.

Speaker 2 (30:31):
I'm just saying. I'm just saying. If we're gonna make
Audric Estimate into a fullback, let's take a look at
Lorenzo Neil. It's like an example, right, I mean, and
that's not a bad thing. That's not a bad thing
at all. That's not a bad thing. I mean shit,
I say, like, hey.

Speaker 1 (30:49):
Hey, we want we want von Vailey to be r Z.
Let's take a look at Jerry Rice. Let's take a
look at the Jerry Jerry Rice's career literally literally only here.

Speaker 2 (31:00):
He is literally literally only using their measurables as a comparison.
So that's me as a freak. We know that he
loves to lower the helmet. We know that he loves
to hit motherfuckers. I mean, ship, make him a full back.
Have a fullback competition in camp? Thank you have a fullback.

Speaker 1 (31:23):
Too? You want to play action? You want to run
a little play action fake where leaks into the flat.

Speaker 2 (31:32):
Up Cody Cody. Cody's comment right there, the Mike and Perfect.

Speaker 1 (31:40):
Cody audrigainst the may will never be Mike Anderson because
they're not running the Mike Shanahan Zones run team. But yes,
this is exactly what I'm talking about. And you know what, Pat,
it's not the worst thing to be a fullback. Go
ask Peyton Hillis. Peyton hillis Alice? I mean at this

(32:00):
terms of your career, Go talk to Peyton Hillis about
if it hindered him being a full back. You remember
that year, the year that Peyton Hillis came out, there
were two really really good running backs that went to Arkansas,
Darren McFadden and Felix Jones, and he ended up being
better than both of them. In his Oh please, Darren

(32:26):
McFadden had tiny dancer legs. Darren McFadden had like two
decent years. Come on now, wait, wait, wait, I'm with no.
I have I have a question for you, Pat, Who's
who was on the cover of Madden between the three
and then.

Speaker 2 (32:43):
Well, hey, now, hang on, Darren mca.

Speaker 1 (32:46):
Which one Pat, Jarren mc.

Speaker 2 (32:48):
Fadden is on the cover evens that way. Don't get
it twisted, now, Patrick Taylor won't do that, Hay, Come
on now.

Speaker 1 (32:59):
Throughout random a random middle name. Honest to God, though,
and and I want to be completely serious here, if
Oudric estimate does not show us more in camp and
midway through the season, this one's actually not bad. Royce
Freeman was better than Audrick estimate. I think Royce Freeman

(33:22):
had some injury issues early on, and then you know,
and Philip Lindsay was just better. Philip Lindsay kind of
took it over for him. If you can get Audrey
Estimate to be like what you got out of Royce
Freeman early on, that's a huge improvement. And that's where
you stand with Addric estimate. So let's let's transition that Pat.

(33:43):
Since now we don't need to write re sign Burton
because we have a fullback on the roster already, what
are we what are we going to do at the
running back position? And if we don't need to get
too much into the draft talk, because we're gonna have
a couple of draft specials before the actual draft. Like

(34:03):
we've heard, like you and I and a lot of
other people have been pushing the Omari and Hampton agenda,
And honestly, at this point, I'll be shocked if he's
there at twenty. If I'm being completely, imperfectly honest with
you at all, that he drops the twenty, So what
do we do?

Speaker 2 (34:20):
Pat, So there's something else that is going to be
my article. But I think, like with a class this deep,
you know, I fully expect them to accept the fact
that one of, if not both of those guys will
be gone within the top ten picks. Maybe the Raiders

(34:42):
take him, Maybe the Raiders take Janet, maybe they don't.
It would make sense, but they also have a lot
of other things. Mason Graham would make a ton of
sense for them at five, but they've got some other holes.
So it's like, do they take a running back, don't they?
I just think there's gonna be teams that may want to.

(35:03):
Like we were talking about how this class is so
iffy and YadA, there's no way teams will trade up.
Like Draft Day will always change things. There's teams that
will panic, there's teams that will want to move up.
So it might happen, right especially with Chicago loading up
on offensive linemen, loading up Big Diamond.

Speaker 1 (35:26):
It's almost like they realized they had to protect their
Chirst round investment.

Speaker 2 (35:33):
I'd draft this guy in the first round, but God,
just he keeps getting hit. What can we do to
stop this.

Speaker 1 (35:43):
Receiver?

Speaker 2 (35:44):
What's that'll fix it? Let's play Dj Moore at the X.
Oh yeah, that's great.

Speaker 1 (35:51):
I'm going to bring this up really really quick because
I I kind of pitched this. I six not even
I don't think. I don't think it would take remotely
this much. And here's the thing, Like, first of all,
atomic I understand why you want to throw Estime in there.
I don't think that you need to. With what Atlanta
is doing with Bijon, it makes sense that they would

(36:14):
shop Tyler Alger. He's about to go into his fourth year.
He had a fantastic rookie season. It was the year
before they drafted Bijon over a thousand yards. I think
he had four or five touchdowns on a not good
Atlanta team. They ran the ball a ton because they
had famously who famously can't throw the ball. But the

(36:34):
last two seasons pat with Tyler Alger, He's rushed for
over six hundred yards despite playing a like vehemently playing
second fiddle to Bjon Robinson. So why would the Falcons
trade this guy right now? Well after this year, he's
a free agent, So why wouldn't the Broncos, and like,
I don't think it'll take two six atomic and I

(36:56):
don't think that, you know, they would even accept estime.
They're probably thinking we can get out about year. We
don't need to worry, Like we can get something for
him because he's going to walk in free agency. You
give them a let's call it a fifth, and then
get a sixth in return or a seventh in return
like a pick swap, and you add Tyler Augier and

(37:16):
all of a sudden, Pat, he's by far the best
running back in that room. He rushed over six hundred
yards the last couple of years despite Bijon, and he's
exactly he's a competent pass catcher. It's like he's not
gonna wow you. He's obviously not Bijon level, but he's
a good pass catcher and maybe most importantly Pat, he's

(37:36):
a good pass blocker.

Speaker 2 (37:38):
And that room.

Speaker 1 (37:38):
Desperately, desperately needs a veteran.

Speaker 2 (37:43):
Yeah. Yeah, I mean, I know, Ji.

Speaker 1 (37:47):
Years still young, and Adric's going into his second year. Yeah,
I mean, I think he would get it here, and
then I think that would take some of the pressure
off of what the Broncos want. To do now. I
don't think he's like an end all, be all fixed.
He's not gonna be your bell cow, but he raises
the room immensely.

Speaker 2 (38:07):
I mean he could be bell cow. That's the crazy
thing is like this guy.

Speaker 1 (38:15):
But oh sorry you cut out for a second.

Speaker 2 (38:23):
Uh No, I think like he's a guy who wants
his carries. He's a guy who like was kind of
slided in all honesty by uh by Atlanta when they
took like he was vocal about it. I remember him. Yeah,
he was like I just ran for a thousand yards,

(38:43):
Like what am I gonna do now? Right, Like, he
wants his carries. He wants to be able to show
that he can play in this league. You know he's
hungry for it, right, So give him a fresh start
contract year like you said, uh a six round pick
would be more than enough. Right, doesn't need to be
anything crazy and bring him in like at least give

(39:03):
them the opportunity to compete for the starting job. Like
even if they draft a rookie, remember that rookie is
probably not going to get a ton of carries out
the gate unless unless Sean is absolutely head over heels
in love with him, like you know it's not going
to be one of those situations. So especially if Jint's
gone and Hampton's gone and they have to draft someone
like a Caleb Johnson, Dylan Samson, Devin Neil, right, Like

(39:29):
those guys aren't going to get the starting the starting
reps week one, Like that's gonna be a guy like
Tyler Lgier who's going like he's a veteran in this
steague at this point, So get a veteran like we're
also talking about Breeze Hall, Like even a guy like
Breeze Hall would be getting the starting reps. I feel
like one of those guys. And then the guy that

(39:49):
you're really really on right now in free agency, which
I wouldn't hate, JK. Dobbins. I think he would be
a guy who would take week one reps if they much.

Speaker 1 (39:58):
Better, much better what they have here right now, exactly.
And granted, like that's a that's a low bar, Okay. Yeah,
And here's here's the conundrum that I'm starting to foresee
when it comes to the draft. And I talked to
Ryan Edwards about this a little bit last week. I
feel like it's safe to say Pat that like Genty
and Hampton are kind of in their own tier right now.

(40:21):
They're likely going to be the only guys drafted in
the first round. Now you know, things could change, it
would surprise me, but I think they're pretty much well
established as running back one and two and then you
know kind of running back three, four, five, six. I
think it gets a little bit murky. It's up for debate.
The issue is if you do miss out on an
Omari and Hampton at twenty, then you start looking like, Okay,

(40:43):
we really like Treveon Hendersons and we really like Quinn Schawn, Judkins,
Devin Neely. You can throw a couple other names in there.
I think part of the problem, especially with the Ohio
State boys. I don't think they last to the Broncos
second round pick, but you're not going to over or
draft them and take either of them at twenty. So
is this becomes the conundrum where you can't wait around

(41:07):
for Travion and Quinn Shawn because I'm almost positive that
they're not going to be there at fifty one. I
like Dylan Samson. I think he's he's a little bit
slender for what I would like to see out of
like a potential bell cow, but This is such a
scenario where Algier makes even more sense. You miss out

(41:29):
on Hampton and GenZ, which is probably gonna happen, and
then you miss out on the Ohio State boys they
don't fall to you, and then who's your running back? Five?
I think that's kind of where the debate starts. And
is it too early for fifty one? I think if
you like a Dylan Samson, I feel much more comfortable
taking him in the third or fourth round than taking

(41:51):
him in the second round. I feel much more comfortable though,
with a Brishard Smith over at Dylan Samson in the
third or fourth round. Now you So that's why if
you address the addressed the running back position, Let's say
you get Dobbins, fine, and then you don't have to
trade for Algier, even though Algier financially would make make

(42:11):
more sense because he's still on his rookie deal, not
gonna cost a lot either one of those guys. Like
it takes you out of that conundrum, and then you're
not panicked when Trayvon Henderson and quin Shawn Jenkins aren't
falling to you, because then if they do, you're like, fantastic,
we have our bases covered either Dobbins or Algier or
whoever the veteran might be, even though that list is

(42:33):
incredibly slim. Now and then you were allowed to this.
This is like the chess. This is the chess, not checkers.
With Twinn Allen. I really like Luquinn Allen. I'll tell
you what I think. I like Woody Marx in that
kind of role a little bit more, but I like
both of them a source. He's right, this draft has

(42:56):
U R two move up all over it. I agree.
But and the only thing Andy like, if they want
one of the Ohio state backs, in my opinion, they
would have to trade up into the second round for them.
And so maybe depending on how the first round Mason,
if someone wants to come up and get Jackson Dart
at twenty or one of the defensive linemen, and you

(43:16):
can trade back ad picks and then come back up
into the second round. But again, if you're addressing your
biggest hole, and if there's one thing that Patrick Keyote
does better than anyone, and it is addressing the biggest hole,
then it takes a lot of pressure off of you.

Speaker 2 (43:35):
Yeah. I mean there's a lot of good backs in
this class man. Yeah, And like It is kind of
like if they go get a vet. You know, I
think it does take the pressure off, right, you can
kind of wait and see and then they keep falling.
They keep falling. Is Caleb Johnson a bad fit? No?

(43:56):
Yepe that dude. That dude is a really fun watch
a lot of stretch stuff. But man, he get He
can get to the edge quick and then he can
also run between that.

Speaker 1 (44:10):
Oh yeah, he can move. No.

Speaker 2 (44:15):
I think like.

Speaker 1 (44:17):
I think if Calor is the other guy, I don't
know if he falls to their second round pick right,
I would love Philip Johnson, but Brendan. I think the
reason that he's not he's not in the chatter is
because early on Pat, like you say, a couple of
months ago, you know, I think some people had him
over hamp or, yeah, him over a Marian Hampt And

(44:40):
now it's kind of dropped down and like one, depending
on what rankings that you're looking at. It's like some
people still have him as RB three and I have
it he's probably my running back for right now. Some
people give him like RB five, six seven. Some people
think that Cam Scattabo is going to be a better
world than him, which I think is fucking crazy. But

(45:03):
that could be another discussion for another day. So that's
what we think about the running back position. Anything else
that you want to that you want to add or
throw in.

Speaker 2 (45:13):
No, I think if they go into the draft without
signing a vet running back, I'll be a little I'll
be a little more stressed. Right, But yeah, like, what
the fuck are we gonna do? Guys like you bet
you better get the guy. Whatever guy you're thinking about
going to get, you better get him, right, whether that

(45:35):
is Henderson now, in my in my peach that's coming out.
I discussed the scenario where they trade back, not out
of the first round completely, but down to thirty. Okay,
Buffalo is sitting at thirty. Okay, they trade back and
at thirty it could get a little murky, right, So

(45:57):
would you be comfortable taking a guy like like trade
on Henderson? If if Sean Payton was like, hey, we're
in the first round, like we're almost out of the
first round, I like, I want to get this guy.
We've already traded back, We've collected some picks. I feel
comfortable doing this. We get a cost controlled running back
who can play that joker role. I'm just saying putting

(46:20):
loose at the bird.

Speaker 1 (46:22):
Honestly, if you feel if.

Speaker 2 (46:25):
Yeah, thirty yeah, I mean they're like like Hampton's off
the board, like even like a guy like Johnson is
off the board, right, and then they go, hey, guys,
now it's now our net, like he could he could
get picked up. Like imagine if imagine if Kansas City
kind of guy like trading on Henderson they don't need him.

(46:48):
But I'm just saying, like I would fucking I do it.
I do it.

Speaker 1 (46:52):
I don't know if I don't know if Kansas City
would suck around and take a running back in the
first time, But no, Pat.

Speaker 2 (47:00):
I'm saying, that's the scenario. That's the scenario, right, trade back.

Speaker 1 (47:06):
I'm pushing. I'm pushing my chips all in, Okay, I'm
all I'm on that idea and that the thinking that
needs to be the thinking of Broncos Country now, Pat.
And so when that article comes out, it's gonna be
a banger, because, honest to god, man, it's like, you know,
we're we're pushing the O'marian Hampton agenda. Okay, if you're listening,

(47:27):
we want O'marian Hampton. But it's like he's probably not
gonna be there at twenty. Grow up, Peter, Okay, you
can't fly.

Speaker 2 (47:38):
You're gonna have to trade with the Saints. Like if
if they want JT. Or Hampton, either one of those guys,
you might have to trade up to nine. You might
even have to trade up the five. Seistically be it.

Speaker 1 (47:51):
This would actually be an interesting situation. No, they drafted,
If they drafted Luther Burden strictly as like, you're going
to be Deebo Samuel, You're not gonna lie to runner,
You're not gonna run. We're gonna line you up in
the backfield. We're gonna give you We're gonna give you tosses,
We're gonna give you screens. The thing that like kind

(48:13):
of worries me about Burden is like after what happened
with Malachai Corley, because I love, love, love me some
Malachai Corley, and I don't know if it's because he
went to the Jets or because I was just dead
ass wrong. His game did not translate at all. I
was pounding the table for him because he led the
NZ double a in yards after catch and uh, I

(48:35):
think broken tackles and the Broncos desperately needed that and
still need that. And so now like since those roles
are similar, except you know, Corley's obviously not on Burden's level.
That makes me really scared over a guy like Burden.
But Frankie, if you're gonna put him at running back
and you just you know, give him little pitches and

(48:55):
tosses and swing passes, I mean, I don't know if
I would be happy about you spend first round pick
on that guy, but I think that would be a
fun role for him.

Speaker 2 (49:05):
Uh. Somebody mentioned, uh pre draft visits. I just want
to mention last year, Uh, the Broncos pre draft visits
their their top thirty. JJ McCarthy, Michael Pennix, Keten Slovas,
Blake Watson, Ray Davis, Kielan Robinson, Jalen Wright, Fuck, Austin Jones,

(49:30):
Luke McCaffrey, David White, Xavier w Get, Jay Kwon, Burton,
Josh Cephis, A bunch of They bring in a bunch
of guys, right, bo Nix is an on this list? Right,
Let's see, Ellis is this.

Speaker 1 (49:48):
The top the draft visits? They're nothing?

Speaker 2 (49:52):
They bring them in. I think the top thirty.

Speaker 1 (49:56):
Unless it's a misdirect to try and convince other teams
that you're injured.

Speaker 2 (50:02):
That could be the case. So put a ton of
stock into visits, got it. Yeah, I mean think whatever
you want about him, right, but it's not always going
to be like it's not always going to be that guy.
Just because they bring someone in for a visit does
not mean that it's going to be like they're going
to pick this guy, right.

Speaker 3 (50:22):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (50:23):
Sometimes they already know and they're bringing in other guys
to get a closer look at them and you know,
figure it out. But like, I don't know, I wouldn't
put all of the way to it. I'm sure there's
some kind there's going to be a pick that resembles that. Uh,
but to push all your chips in on it, it
don't matter. Jason Taylor, son of the Yeah, Mason Taylor,

(50:47):
I think he would absolutely target second round.

Speaker 1 (50:51):
I love him and Carter Carter Carter Dylan LTV put
together a really nice read on Twitter, and I liked
Mason Taylor before and after after I saw what Carter
put together, I'm like, you know what, I think that's
my tight end three right, And I would be honestly fine.

(51:13):
I would be fine taking him in the second round.

Speaker 2 (51:16):
All right, let's get to nine minutes left. Do we
want to split the mount Rushmore and the Cook's agenda?

Speaker 1 (51:26):
You know what, we'll We'll save that for another time
because we have to get to the highlight of the show. Pat,
we have the ultimate agenda to push, and that is
Brandon Cooks to Dender. Now, you might hurt whispers from
Patrick Keyoty a month and a half ago about saying, hey, hey,

(51:50):
I want I want to push Brandon Cooks. I want
to push Brandon December and we thought you're being a
little bit silly, You're kind of being a silly goosey.
But now here we are. My Darius Slayton agenda is
dead and buried because he decided to go back to
the dirt for dirt, for fucking dirt. So okay, good

(52:12):
luck Darius decision. But the more that we talk because
and honestly, Pat, my knee jerk reaction to you saying
that was the same as a lot of people. Brandon Cooks,
he just like we, just wanted to be able to
play on every single team in the NFL before his
career's over. The Broncos are going to be his nineteenth
or twentieth NFL team. But the more you think about it,

(52:36):
and the more I talk to you about it, Pat,
you know what, I love me some Brandon Cooks to
Denver agenda. So why don't you enlighten the people who
think that it's batshit crazy to go after a Brandon
Cooks right now? Let it all out for the people.
Pat push that agenda.

Speaker 2 (52:55):
Well, I can't. Okay, I can't push that agenda because
it's not agenda.

Speaker 1 (53:00):
Okay, who can Pat? Wait? Wait, okay, we're gonna we
got a sessional guest. Okay, yep. So if Patrick Choti
is not able to push the agenda, then I think
it's safe to say that coach Pat it is uly hired.
Coach Pat, he's here to push the Brandon Cooks agenda.

(53:29):
Push that agenda, Bring Cooks to Denver. Break it down.

Speaker 2 (53:33):
First of all, go cards, okay. Second of all, look,
you didn't get you wanted Cooper Cup. You thought you
were getting Cooper Cup. Look at you, sad, depressed, lo bodyless. Okay,
you thought you're gonna get Cooper Cup. He's a he's
a PNW boy. He's going home, all right, Don't be

(53:56):
an idiot. Now, listen, Brandon, Cooks. Yeah, he's a veteran receiver.
What did Sehn Payton say that he wanted this offseason? Oh,
he wanted a veteran receiver. Okay, he played in this
offense before Sean Payton recruited. I mean Sean Payton scouted
this guy, drafted this guy. Uh, fed him the fucking rock. Okay,

(54:21):
for three seasons in New Orleans. They traded him. They
traded him to a winner, played in a couple of
Super Bowls, won cover super Bowls. Pretty crazy. Uh. So
you've got a veteran, You've got a guy who knows
the offense. Uh, and you've got a guy who has
won in the playoffs. This I've been saying this whole

(54:46):
offseason that what the Broncos need is a true Z.
Yeah Mims. Mims played the Z early on in the season.
It wasn't working for some reason. It wasn't working, Okay,
so they switched it up and he did a lot
better in a different role. Great. Uh, Troy Franklin couldn't
play the season. Not there, he's not there yet? Could

(55:09):
he get there? Maybe he's not there yet? How long
are you gonna wait for that? You're gonna wait another season.

Speaker 1 (55:16):
Who's who's the kind of guy that can help Troy
Franklin get there? Pat I mean.

Speaker 2 (55:23):
A guy like Brandon Cooks, Right.

Speaker 1 (55:25):
I think Brandon Cooks maybe helped Troy Franklin out a
little bit.

Speaker 2 (55:28):
He's he's a vet, so he checks that box off.
Playoff experience checks that box, checks that box off. Two
Super Bowl rings, checks that box off.

Speaker 1 (55:38):
Wait, how many wait you here here? What about this?
How many drops did he have? You know that the
Bronx last year they were young, they had some problems
with drops. How many drops did Brandon Cooks have over
the last two seasons?

Speaker 2 (55:53):
One drop? Eleven touchdowns? One drop?

Speaker 1 (55:57):
Oh god, damn.

Speaker 2 (56:00):
I'm pretty sure he won with the Rams, did he not?
I'm pretty sure he won one with the Patriots, one
with the Rams. Anyways, uh, erroneous either way, he's played
in this offense before. He's a free agent getting up there. Yeah,
but like, this is also the same guy who brought
in Emmanuel Sanders the year before he played for Buffalo,

(56:25):
So the like the year before he retired and got
seven hundred and seventy yards out of him in five touchdowns.
That's all you need. That's all you need. You don't
need him to be one hundred target a year guy.
You don't need him to be You don't need him
to be an eighty target a year guy. He's a
vet who knows the offense, he's been here before, probably

(56:47):
wants to play for a winner, and apparently they might
flirt with him. I don't know, but I'm just saying
I think he'd be a decent ad. Like he's not
gonna get a ton of targets, but he's he still
has the talent to stretch the field, still has talent
to work through the defense, and he played a very
similar role that Emanuel played in New Orleans. With him,

(57:07):
I like, I think it's a good sign. I don't know.
And if it's if it's cheaper, they just bring him in.
If they just bring him in for camp pay, that's
fine too. But like, this is a guy who can
still play, not sleeping on Bailey Ormons, you'd still use
those guys. That's the same thing that you don't just
have to take one out. We can use all of

(57:28):
these pieces together. They stop trying to think about.

Speaker 1 (57:32):
It like something, let me, let me, let me because
you're you're too close to the situation. Okay, I need
to break it down for these people and like help
them understand it the way that I needed to understand it. Okay,
I think if you're hearing this Brandon Cooks to Denver
agenda and you have a problem with it because you're

(57:55):
worried about targets being taken away from the young guys,
or Brandon Cooks is washed, or you know whatever else
that you want to say, I think you're grossly overestimating
the role that you are bringing him in to play.
Brandon Cooks is not even necessarily starting. You get him

(58:15):
sixty to seventy five targets this year, maybe eighty targets,
fifty to fifty five catches, a handful of touchdowns. That's
what you bring Cooks in. Four. You're not bringing him
in to be wide receiver two. That is, that's not
what we're proposing. That's not what Pat is expecting, and
no one is expecting that. But like, I don't understand

(58:39):
Pat why so many people wanted Cooper Cup and they
weren't worried about the fact that he hasn't played a
full season in what three years, or the fact that
he's on the complete wrong side of thirty, And like
I don't mean to shit on Cooper Cup, but like
fifteen million dollars a year for a dude whose prime

(59:00):
was three years ago is fucking crazy. Brandon Cooks is
gonna be a one year, six seven eight million dollar contract,
one seasons of money for us. That's that's pennies. That
is pennies in the why in the in the NFL
as a wide receiver. So I need everybody to just like,

(59:22):
it's not gonna stunt the growth of anybody. Just chill
the fuck out and understand you're bringing him in. It'es
like you gotta you got a third and medium. You
need a Brandon Cooks because he's a man beater. You do.
You have a holding call on first down and now
it's now you got second and sixteen and you need
a chunk play. You got Brandon Cooks there. He's gonna

(59:43):
help take a little bit of attention away from Courtland Sutton,
from Man Franklin. He's gonna help out another young guys.
He's gonna help I talked to Tim Patrick recently and
I kind of asked him about about Vele and Troy Franklin.
He was incredibly high on both of him, and he
said that Sean Payton put them in an impossible situation

(01:00:04):
because all the stuff that he was wanting Tim Patrick
to do that Tim Patrick can do. You're asking a
rookie to do. And even though Veyley is you know,
eats at Golden Corral and is the same age as
Tim Patrick, No, I love it. It's fine if you
want diarrhea. The point is you're asking Sean Payton asked

(01:00:28):
way too much of those rookies and the only veteran
presence that they had was Courtland Sutton to help guide them,
and they're not playing the same position. You add in
a Brandon Cooks, who will be a situational wide receiver,
who will be a good possession wide receiver, but most
importantly will teach these young guys how to play the ze,

(01:00:52):
will teach them the subtle nuances of playing the wide
receiver position in the NFL, and most importantly, will help
teach them Sean Peyton's overly complicated, convoluted offense Sean Payton
to Troy Franklin the fuck out in Buffalo because he

(01:01:13):
blew an assignment. Pat do you more or less exactly?
That is why you bring in a guy like Brandon
Cooks until the moment is no longer too big for
the young guys. March. We appreciate you, Elijah Moore, makes

(01:01:33):
more sense than a thirty two year old Brandon Cooks
who hasn't played a full season in three years. Appreciate,
appreciate the super chat, and appreciate you watching despite your
insistence on the things that you're commenting and not Patrick.

(01:01:56):
Before we before we go, whoa, whoa, whoa, hang on,
hang on, hang Okay, Okay, okay.

Speaker 2 (01:02:01):
This man, this man donated ten dollars. I'm gonna answer
his question. Okay, now, Eli Moore, don't hate that either.
The reason that I say Brandon Cooks because he's a
fun receiver. The reason that I'm pushing the Cooks thing
is just because of been in this system before. Can
play that veteran role. Doesn't need to have a ton

(01:02:22):
of targets, but could be a valuable asset, especially for
the development of a guy like Troy Franklin for a
guy like Marvin Mims. Probably around the same price point.
I mean, they're gonna be Wave two free agents regardless.
I know more how to visit with the Jets today.
So something to keep an eye on. No, you're fine.

(01:02:48):
It's not that you're wrong. It's it's more about having
having players in the locker room that can help lead
the younger. So the same way that they brought in
John Franklin Myers last year, they they've went out and
they've gotten veterans. They've even they've even been scouting older

(01:03:12):
players Bo Nicks, Devon Vailey, Right, both of those guys
had a ton of experience in college. They're both more mature,
older players, and that helps with the locker room, helps
with maturity, it helps with focus and leadership. So really,
what you're doing is you're adding in another veteran who
has played in this system before, understands what his coach

(01:03:34):
is expecting from the room, and can be somebody who
can go to Marvin MinJe or Tory Franklin be like, hey, look,
if you're going to be the Z or you're going
to run this play, this is how it should be done, right,
this is what is being expected of you. It's like,
it's just like having another coach in the building. Right,
So that's why we're pushing the agenda. And yes, you

(01:03:54):
are correct. He played in two Super Bowls, did not
win them. Thank you. For correcting me on that. But
I'm still think I still think it would be like
he's still had like he's still been there. He still
understands what it takes to get to that point that
you can't understate that. Yes, we know all this fantastic
and and that's like the ultimate goal, but getting there

(01:04:16):
is getting there is what is the hardest thing to do,
and he understands what it takes to get there. And
also it was probably learned from those mistakes, right, that's
the veteran part. I mean, we watched Troy Franklin drop
a wide open touchdown this season. Dropping one in the
Super Bowl is a million times worse. But I digress.

(01:04:38):
I don't hate Elijah Moore. I think that would be
a fun ad. It's just like we're complaining about this guy,
like he's gonna want his targets, he's gonna want his
his catches. Brandon Cooks is a guy who's gonna come
here and play the damn game, and he's gonna play
it the way that Sean.

Speaker 1 (01:04:53):
Payton adding Elijah Moore, and I like Elijah Moore. I
liked him coming out of all this. He was a
guy that I wouldn't have minded the Broncos targeting. I
think that he's he's been in a lot of bad situations.
That feels like a signing that the team would have
made in the John Elway era, where you're like, we're
going to revitalize this guy's career. He was really good

(01:05:15):
once upon a time, and we're going to shove him
down your throat as a wide receiver too. That's the
kind of move that it feels like it would be
a Ryan move. But it's like it's not just it's
not the fact, like I think at this point in
the careers, Yeah, Elijah Moore is probably a better receiver
than Brandon Cooks, and I don't think that's wild to say,

(01:05:36):
but like, if that's all that you're banking on, and
if that's what you're basing your entire argument off of,
then you're not seeing the big picture. Pat before we
get out of here, we haven't had the opportunity to
do this in a while, and I gotta tell you
it was absolutely fantastic. Hearing Ryan Edwards the Denver Sports

(01:05:58):
Media golden boy Scott What made him bricked up? Oh?

Speaker 5 (01:06:15):
Patrick Keyot, Welcome, Welcome everybody, to a lot of people
are calling Pat the greatest single segment in all Denver sports,
in all of Denver sports talk.

Speaker 1 (01:06:30):
Yes, so, Patrick, what has you bricked up?

Speaker 2 (01:06:37):
What is getting me bricked up these days? Besides the
sides Blazers.

Speaker 1 (01:06:45):
Basketball, watching them get the seventh seed and be a
first round exit, It's gonna be really fun.

Speaker 2 (01:06:53):
Hang the banners.

Speaker 1 (01:06:54):
We got the banner right right next to the great
right next to the Greg Oda knee brace. Baby Wow.

Speaker 2 (01:07:04):
I was on TV, by the way, that was pretty cool.

Speaker 1 (01:07:07):
I saw that you got you got me hy. The
guy that you were at the game with did not match. Okay,
don't He didn't even know.

Speaker 2 (01:07:16):
He didn't even know what the camera. I made eye
contact with the cameraman and he saw me, and I
was like, you know, you know what we're about to do.
You know what we're about to do.

Speaker 1 (01:07:27):
Not hating on him, I'm just saying he didn't. You said,
is anybody gonna match my freak? And he said no, No.

Speaker 2 (01:07:36):
You know what's getting me bricked up is is this
lead up to the draft man free agency. Pre agency
was kind of newsfest, like came and went, you know,
like Aaron Rodgers is still fucking high somewhere on the beach.
Justin Field's got thirty million guaranteed, Like that's crazy. But

(01:08:01):
I think what's getting me bricked up the most is
the draft is just few short days away in relatively month,
relatively speaking, we have children. You know this, We have children.

Speaker 5 (01:08:16):
That's that's literally like a blankets.

Speaker 2 (01:08:21):
So uh, I'm just getting really excited about the lead up.
I can't wait for like all the all the little
draft rumors that that come around. That's just Draft season
always gets me just rock hard through the zipper, bricked.

Speaker 7 (01:08:36):
Up excellently right on the table, just like absolutely Robcastic.

Speaker 2 (01:08:47):
Ah is how I would describe draft season for me,
Like we're gonna get all the draft guides, uh, you know,
like we're going to see all this information. Who knows
that there's to be if there's gonna be a Laramie
tunsl video, Like who knows if that's gonna happen this year?
There could be some video vide.

Speaker 1 (01:09:10):
Hampton, Oh man, it's like the Tyler.

Speaker 2 (01:09:17):
I don't know if you'll understand this reference, but I'm
sure the younger crowd would the Tyler Warren Bonnie Blue mashup. Uhna,
that's gonna take it it's just gonna take him, send
him right. It's twenty good.

Speaker 1 (01:09:36):
And if that's if it's true, you don't want.

Speaker 2 (01:09:39):
To be Oh, he's not gonna pass. He's not gonna pass.
The medicals like you have four different STDs and a
new one that we have never have not even made.
The first time we've ever seen this in human time.
You've got.

Speaker 1 (01:09:58):
Your crab super her.

Speaker 2 (01:10:02):
So your crafts have mutated. Uh okay, Mario, what what
gets you briacked up? We're off the reels.

Speaker 1 (01:10:11):
Not much talking about about that. No, I'm gonna take
it a step further. You know what has me really
break up the fact that let's talk Broncos has built
such an incredible community that after doing our first annual
draft party at The Rock Restaurant and Bar last season,
we packed the place. We had the entire patio to ourselves.

(01:10:32):
Had never done it before. Uh. The show that we
did was a fucking disaster, but the event was unbelievable
and it went well enough to convince us to do
it again. And so I love the fact that we
exist in this realm of like, you know, we're here
to entertain people, We're here to talk to people, and

(01:10:52):
and you know, thankfully a lot of people think highly
enough of us to tune in when you know, like
you and I would just do this for free, Pat
and like would just do it for fun. I would
sit here if nobody was watching, I would come down
here to my basement and I would sit to look
at your handsome face and talk at you for an
hour about Broncos football and sports with Jordan Humphrey and

(01:11:14):
how overrated Brandon Roy was, all that good stuff. Wow,
don't hang up. The fact that we have this community
and we have people that actually care it honestly blows
my mind. I'm like, I don't know why you people
care what I have to say. Like I'm pretty stupid, right,
Like I'm just up here talking, doing my best, and
the fact that people actually care what I have to

(01:11:34):
say is wild. The fact that people would actually want
to come to a draft party and like meet me
in person and meet Zach and like breed makes sense.
Like I understand wanting to meet Brie, and I definitely
understand wanting to meet Carter and Joey Richards, but like
wanting to meet me and Zach, like that's a that's
a tall task. And so I agre, will you stop this shit?

(01:11:57):
I take it to tell everybody here how much I
appreciate you guys to the point where we are going
to be hosting the draft party. It is going to
be at the Rock Restaurant and Bar off the Smokeyell
Road and four seventy. It'll be the first night of
the Draft April twenty fourth, at five thirty pm, and
we will go all night long. Baby, We will go

(01:12:19):
all night until the first round of the draft is
over and it does get a little tedious. So hopefully
it'll be like last season and we'll have a Nuggets
or an Avalanche game, you know, like an actual competitive,
good team that will make some noise playoffs, unlike the
straight garbage that Patrick is force feeding all of us.

(01:12:41):
I want to go and pat myself on the back
there through the whoa fucking Brandon Roy like, oh good,
like they Let's see the highlights of the eighteenth best
Trailblazer of all time?

Speaker 2 (01:12:56):
Oh wow? Third third third best, third best.

Speaker 1 (01:13:04):
Sure make sure you follow us on Twitter at Patrick to.

Speaker 2 (01:13:09):
The top three Nuggets, Top three Nuggets right now, Top
three Nuggets, mellow mellow.

Speaker 1 (01:13:16):
Yok, probably Alex English over Billups but Millips is a
hometown kid.

Speaker 2 (01:13:21):
Okay, okay, but like Jokic is.

Speaker 1 (01:13:24):
Jokic is number one by like a really really wide margin.
Like tell you this, I'm sorry to tell you this,
but like NICOLEA. Jokic currently is a top ten player
all time. I agree all time.

Speaker 2 (01:13:39):
I don't hate it.

Speaker 1 (01:13:41):
Well, you shouldn't hate the truth and facts because then,
because then who's.

Speaker 2 (01:13:48):
The greatest basketball player of all time? Ario, Let's let's
all the other sports shows.

Speaker 1 (01:13:52):
You want to you want to start this world, Michael,
you say you're told.

Speaker 2 (01:13:59):
To either Uncle Corton's the basketball player whole time.

Speaker 1 (01:14:04):
Yes, and nothing will change that. I love Nicole Jokic
so much so that I rooted for Serbia over the
USA in the Olympics because also I like, I can't
stand Lebron, I hate Joel Embiide, and I can't stand
Anthony Davis. Yeah, you know, I guess I'm a communist
because I wanted to see that. I wanted to see
Nicole Jokic win over them. It's not I understand that,

(01:14:28):
but that's how much of a homer I am. And
despite that, there's nothing that there is nothing that Jokic
will ever do that will move him above Michael Jordan
for met What murders? What murder DIY around around? What

(01:14:54):
about the murder?

Speaker 2 (01:14:56):
Murder?

Speaker 1 (01:14:57):
Okay, we're done by everybody. Have a you know I
love you. See you next week.

Speaker 4 (01:15:06):
Hey Bill, I'm in a move for a switch up.
I hit the bunch and hit the rotation like hiccup.

Speaker 2 (01:15:13):
I hit the stage.

Speaker 1 (01:15:14):
I leave with money.

Speaker 2 (01:15:15):
That's
