and then Let's Talk to the Lord gospel radio talk
show and Kingdom. Our guest for season nine of Let's
Talk to the Lord is recording artist Reggie Jenkins Kingdom.
Brother Reggie is a school administrator and artist manager Kingdom.
(10:24):
Reggie believes that the spirit of fear and or procrastination
hinders us from moving forward into who God has called
us to be and life. Furthermore, REGGI believes that sometimes
we all need to hear an encouraging word through music
that speaks specifically to our situation and season. Brother Reggie Jenkins,
(10:52):
Welcome to Let's Talk to the Lord.
Speaker 5 (10:57):
Yes, thank you so much. I count as an honor
and a privilege to be with the one and only
John Apostle John E. Ross on the Let's Talk to
the Little Gospel Show. So thank you again for inviting
me to help spread the gospel. So thank you, Thank
you so much a.
Speaker 4 (11:13):
Man ay Man, and thank you for being her survey.
Before we begin our discussion, please tell the kingdom more
about you and share a little bit of your musical journey.
Speaker 5 (11:29):
Well, just a little bit about me. I've been involved
and surrounded by music since the age of six, all genres,
born and raised in Florida, singing in the youth choir
at church an Acosta Church. It wasn't really an option
my mom, she she it was one of her expectations
(11:51):
for me to sing in the choir and and everything
else Sunday school and and everything else. But uh, that's
that's where it all started, at your And of course
I went to a school of the arts as well,
and in which I was involved with music vocally instrumentation
where I played the saxophone as well, and I've played
(12:12):
that all through elementary, middle and high school. So I've
always been involved around music. But I will say that
my first love and and I guess discovery of of
loving music and falling in love with music. It started
in church. So although my mom was making me at
(12:34):
that time being involved in the in the youth choir,
I I learned that I had a passion and grew
a love for it, and so not knowing that that
would be the start of a lifelong passion of love
and music. So I most definitely I enjoy all genres
of music. I appreciate the sounds, but Gospels it is
(12:58):
the true part of myself that sound that resonates from
my voice.
Speaker 4 (13:05):
And brother Reggie Jenkins, please tell the Kingdom when and
where Christ found you and share a little of your
journey to relationship with our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus.
Speaker 5 (13:20):
I will say, I would say, back way back in
high school, I've always been spiritual, even when I thought
I wasn't spiritual. And I speak to a lot of
my high school friends now and they always tell me,
you know, Rich, You've always been spiritual. We just knew.
I mean, you've always been spiritual even when I've even
(13:42):
when I thought I was not being a representative of Christ,
that light was still shining through me. But I would say, personally,
I found but he found Christ found me in high school.
I can say that my mom became ill my senior
(14:04):
year in high school, and I mean deathly ill, and.
Speaker 4 (14:10):
She was.
Speaker 5 (14:11):
She was to the point where the doctors gave her
a week. They said that had she waited a week
later to come to the hospital, she would have been dead.
And so my mom was unable to make my my
high school graduation and uh, those high schools that cities
and so forth, for prom and so forth. She was
just totally just sick. And I had to rely on
(14:35):
everything that that was pourtant to me. That meant all
of those Sunday school lessons, all of those friend meetings
where I was fatherly sitting in the back on the
back row, all of those songs that I rented up
to Christ. Everything I had to put into action for myself.
(14:56):
And I had to begin to develop that personal relationship
with for myself, uh, and speak to God and ask
God to restore my mother and to.
Speaker 4 (15:06):
Do this and do that.
Speaker 5 (15:09):
And guess what He did that And that was a
long time ago, and she she's still here, she's blessed.
And so that was the very start of it. And
I can remember that God was just working with me.
He was dealing with me. And even though I was
trying to even keep it, keep it somewhat, I want
to say a secret, I still God taking me higher
(15:31):
in high school and even after I once I started college.
I can recall one one weekend I was I was
sleep at the house with my mother, and uh, in
the middle of the night, I just, I mean, God
filled me with the Holy Ghost. I begin to speak
(15:53):
in tongue and everything, and I was no matter. I
was trying to really suppress it, but it was just
a fire. So that just couldn't be turned off. And
so and that's when I believe that I knew that
God had his hands on my life. So so that's
it all started that there, way back then, and of
(16:14):
course it's been my walk with Christ has continued to
evolve and grow and blossom into something even more beautiful.
I know God and he knows me. I know Christ
and he knows me. That's no doubt. That's my friend.
He walks with me, he talks with me. That's that's
(16:35):
who I rely on. That's my foundation, that's my hope,
that's my light.
Speaker 4 (16:38):
So and what is your calling and purpose in the
body of Christ? And in the Kingdom of God.
Speaker 5 (16:50):
My calling and purpose in the Body of Christ and
the Kingdom, I believe it is to be a light
in this dark world, and also to be an encourager
and and uh someone who inspires others. I believe that
my natural gifts is just to be an encourager and inspire.
(17:12):
No matter where I am, no matter what job I'm at,
no matter what setting, what environment, I always find myself
encouraging some one and finding myself wanting to encourage someone
to lift someone up, you know. Rather rather it's through
my my conversation, whether it's through my my smile, whether
(17:34):
it's through my actions of demonstrating God's loves you know,
towards others, and others always tell me, you know, Rigie,
are just so encouraging. I don't know how many times
I've encouraged so many teachers to just go back to
school for for whatever they desire, even even prophetically just speaking,
(17:57):
it was it was their time, you know, it's your
time to step out and to do something, to put
into action and to just and to just stop sitting
on the sideline, you know, hoping and wishing and thinking
that you know, the God that we serve is not
able to do those things. So again, I believe my
(18:17):
purpose and my calling is to inspire and to encourage,
and so that is something that I try my best
to do through music as well. Even though I love
all all styles and genres of music as far as
even even with gospel, the traditional gospel I love. I
love the cortex sound, I love all genres, but most
(18:37):
most most definitely, I enjoy the lyrical standpoint that's going
to encourage and lift those listeners so that we can
walk a stronger and more more life walk that's with
confidence in life.
Speaker 4 (18:59):
Man, amen, and a man again, Brother Reggie, please announce
our topic, begin our discussion, and let's go to the
word of God.
Speaker 5 (19:16):
All right, and well, I will say the topic is,
of course, it's your time. It's your time. And I
I want to find a scripture to go with that,
and and I'm a scripture that resonates in my spirit
and has always is from Ecclesiastics Chapter three, verse one,
(19:36):
which reads to everything there is a season and the
time for every purpose under the heaven. A time to
be born, and a time to die, at times to plant,
and a time to pluck up that which is planted
and so just a portion of them. But I believe
that my song title is your time. Uh, it's for
(20:00):
a specific targeted audience who can relate. And I believe, uh,
the ones who can relate are the ones who have
sown and who have planted seeds in to good ground
and who are just needing that that boost, that that courage,
that confidence to know that it's okay to walk into
(20:23):
it and it is your time and it is your season.
And so with that I say that personally, I would
just speak personally for myself. Even being in the field
of education for quite some time, there were times when
(20:44):
you know, I felt that, you know, it wasn't my
time and and and that's okay because I feel that,
you know, again, for everything, there is a season. There
is a time to to sow. But again there's also
a time to reap. And so when that time comes
to reap, I believe that we have to cast down
(21:05):
the spirit of fear because God has not given us
the spirit of fear, but of love, of power and
a sound mind. So I believe that fear is the
number one thing that causes us to procrastinate and too
and to believe that it's not our time. God has
(21:25):
made us ahead, not to tell the first, not the last,
above and not beneath. And that is one prayer and
an affirmation prayer that I pray. I pray every morning
and and that's that's me speaking the word, speaking the
word from my lips back to Christ, back to God.
So so that to bring life to that and just
(21:46):
to know that it is your time again more of
my testimony. For years I have worked with the ministry
and and I've always been somewhat I will say shy.
Now many people can say will say today I'm not shy,
(22:09):
and I thank God for that.
Speaker 10 (22:10):
You know.
Speaker 5 (22:11):
My my prayer is that I'm not going to hold
onto that title of being shy, but of course there's
still some some components of that. But I thank God
for not appearing to be shy, because again God is
not giving us the spirit of fear, but of love
and power and a sound mind. And so because of
that sewing working in the background, of course, you mentioned
(22:37):
artists managed artist management, managing some other artists as well,
also within ministry, you know, just wanting to push and
support others and guess what, genuinely doing it and doing
it not not grudgingly doing it with good intent. I'm
from a pure heart. Uh. While on those seas when
(23:01):
I was, I'm gonna pause there. So for those who
are still so in those seats, I feel I feel
like we're all we're all going to be continuously sowing
seeds into good ground, uh and putting that time in.
But while while doing so, I must I want to
encourage those to continue doing so with the right heart,
with the right attitude, the right intent, because in due
(23:24):
time you will reap a harvest. So with that being said,
back back to my testimony, I was in the background,
just being available for what was whatever was needed. I've
served in church ministry as an usher. I've served as
the cameraman. I've served as the fly maker to put
(23:49):
the flyers out for different events. I was willing that,
I told God, I was willing to do whatever was
needed to be done to bless the ministry, to to
to further along. And to me, that is that is
good ground. That's so on good good scene and to
good ground.
Speaker 4 (24:09):
And so.
Speaker 5 (24:13):
I am just so glad that I'm able to live
in this moment, in this space today to truly say
that it is my time the song was written. I
wrote this song about three years ago, and what I
did not realize was that the song was the lyrics
(24:36):
were pathetic. And again that goes back to goes back
to speaking speaking life, speaking life, but in this case,
I was speaking life, singing life and speaking life through
a pin, not knowing that my time would come like
(25:01):
this changes and so forth so and I'll I may
give more details on that, but I just believe that
those who who can relate in the fief fact that
I've been, that I've received, and who tell me you
know that the Sun have blessed them to step out,
(25:25):
to put works and actions behind their faith, behind their words,
and to let their lights shine, and to do those things.
It means more to me than anything, and it lets
me know that what I wrote for myself. Sometimes I
(25:46):
believe ministry starts home, ministry starts within yourself, and so
the Sun ministries to me first. And I believe that
that's that's that's that's how I like to how I
like to flow. I believe it if if if they
can minister it to me, it can minister to others.
And that I believe that if it can't minister to me,
(26:07):
I believe that positive is not gonna be able to
touch the hearts and the minds and the souls of
the of the listeners. But the lyrics that were written
three years ago have been prophetic and have really truly
come to pass. And I am just just and and
(26:31):
a season of just all. I couldn't have written it better.
I couldn't have written this, this storyline as far as
even even being active on this telephone you know, interview
right now, I wouldn't have I didn't see that. I
didn't see that. All I knew was that I had
(26:52):
to get a gift. I had to. It was a
song that had to be birthed out of me. And
someone asked me about two weeks ago, so why did
you why did you write this song? Why did you
come out with a song? What made you want to
to now sing or now put something out? And it really,
(27:19):
it really caused me to actually pause for a moment
and to think about that, and I said, well, I
will say this. What happened is that I I'm starting
getting I will say is that this is something that
(27:39):
had to come to pass. It was something that was
birthed in me. The ministry was spoken over my life.
It was vision that God has shown me and it's
something that I had to do. It's not about the money,
it's not about the say. It's something that it's a
full it's a fulfilling my calling what God has placed
(28:02):
me here to do. And again that is still it
still ties back into encouraging and inspiring end uplifting. So
for those listeners who are listening right now, I just
want to just encourage you to know that it's your time,
regardless what the enemy may try to tell you at times.
(28:22):
I'll show you by by placing fear in your in
your mind and whatnot. You have to learn to speak
the word of God and walk into it. And so
for that it is your time back to your apostle as.
Speaker 4 (28:42):
A man, a man and a man again. Kingdom or
topic of discussion for this episode of Let's Talk to
the Lord is it's my time? Kingdom. To say it's
by time means we live by faith in relation to time,
(29:06):
and we trust the timing of God and we humble
ourselves under his authority. It's my time speaks to those
who are wondering if now is the time to act
in a particular area of your life. And it speaks
to us to begin to launch out by faith, especially
(29:31):
those who have been seeking God about perhaps a ministry assignment,
or you have been seeking for instructions, direction or if
you should make a move to your next thing in
your current season, or when God begins to increase your
capacity in a certain area, and that includes in the
(29:54):
financial area of your life as well, meaning where to invest,
where to give, where to seek financing, and trusting God
to lead you and guide you with direction to success,
especially when you have been waiting or when it seems
like nothing will change. Many times you can be presented
(30:18):
with the opportunity you have been praying for, but it
will pass you by if you don't act soon, and
there are many risks involved, so you can't afford to
make the wrong choice. If your time many times can
mean we need God to position us in the right
(30:39):
place for the right time Kingdom. During these times we
cannot allow the enemy to control us by fear of risk.
Proverbs twenty one and five declares the plans of the
diligence lead to profit, but anyone who is reckless becomes poor.
(31:03):
The Amplified Bible declares the plan of the diligence certainly
lead to advantage, but everyone who acts in haste comes
surely to poverty. Kingdom, the plans of the diligent brings
plenty and emphasizes the value of careful planning and hard work. Kingdom.
(31:27):
In context, diligence denotes wisdom and righteousness, highlighting the rewards
of perseverance and thoughtful preparation. Kingdom. The Hebrew culture in
scripture value agriculture and trade, where planning was essential for success.
(31:47):
Being lacks the daisical makes for poverty, but diligent hands
brings wealth. The idea of diligent alignce with Biblical work ethics,
where labor is seen as a form of stewardship. Apostle
Paul demonstrated diligence in his ministry because of often working
(32:11):
as a tentmaker to support themselves as surely as haste
leads to poverty. Warns against impulsive and rash decisions. In context,
denoting haste can lead to poor business decisions, So you research,
You do that research, don't make unwife investments. And theologically speaking, again,
(32:38):
this is a call to trust God's timing and provision
rather than relying on quick fixes or shortcuts. These are
moral lessons on the importance of wisdom and good judgment,
good management, good sense, pain to detail, advisability, and common
(33:04):
sense in all aspects of life. Declaring it's my time, Kingdom,
I praise these are some helpful nuggets as you move
forward led by the Holy Spirit. Brother Reggie, please give
the final words on our discussion, It's my time.
Speaker 5 (33:28):
Again. I just want to just encourage everyone to really
just let the words and the topic that it's your time.
It's my time to get personally, it's my time. I
want that to really sink into your spirit and sink
into your spirits, and I want you to really take
a moment to see and to just reflect and analyze
(33:51):
and see if you are really taking this moment to
let this be your time or are you operating of fear.
So I just want to encourage everyone to just walk
into it and remember that God has not given us
the spirit of fear, but of power, love and a
(34:13):
sound mind. It's your time.
Speaker 4 (34:16):
Brother Reginald Jenkins, please introduce yourself to the Kingdom.
Speaker 5 (34:25):
Again. I'm Reggie Jenkins and I just released the song
title It's Your Time. I pray that it's a blessing
to every listener. I pray that it's encouraging. I pray
that it's uplifting, it's inspiring. There is a message in it,
and so my only prayer, my prayers that the message
(34:46):
resonates into every listener's heart. You can find me on
