Prophetic Ministries, Mannie, thanks to you for tuning in for

(06:05):
season ten, the Season for Divine Order. And then Let's
Talk to the Lord Gospel radio talk show and Kingdom.
Our guest for season ten of Let's Talk to the
Lord is radio station owner, radio show host, and Elder

(06:28):
Luther Baker. Elder Luther Baker, Welcome to Let's Talk to
the Lord.

Speaker 4 (06:36):
Apassor Ross. Thank you so much, sir for allowing me
to be on the program. Here is just a wonderful blessing.
Thank you so much for this awesome, awesome opportunity.

Speaker 10 (06:48):
And before we begin our discussion, Elder Baker, in your
own words, please briefly describe the story of your life.

Speaker 4 (07:04):
Well, uh man, that can take like two hours, but
I guess I can start with meeting a young chubby
boy running around the streets here in Baltimore, Maryland. Everyone
in my household could sing. All my uncles, my brothers,
my sisters, my mom, and I. Like most young boys

(07:24):
back then, we had our little singing groups and everybody
wanted to be the temptations. The young girls wanted to
be at least one of the supremes. And my older
brother could sing. I could sing, my my middle brother Kenneth,
and when we sang man our voices were like like angels.

(07:45):
But unfortunately my older brother uh was was. He lived
that life in the streets. He involved himself in substance
abuse and me and his life ended in a tragic
gunshot boom. But thank god, we didn't run from church.
We ran toward the church. And as a result of that,

(08:06):
we had a cousin who's deceased now chaining whyn't hear
us to a church, and wanted us to hear the
young people. We've never seen anything like that before. We
fell in love with the choir, and eventually, several months
later we joined the church. I sang, the young ten
ten year old boy sang on the choir play drums,

(08:28):
and then at eleven, I had the desire to play
the piano, and every Sunday I had the ministers to
pray for my hands that God would give me the
gift to play the piano. All the young people got
filled with the gift of the Holigos one revival and
man the rest is history. And now I'm a music producer,
ordained elder radio station owner and have a lovely wife, Cheryl,

(08:54):
and we're both actively involved in the ministry.

Speaker 10 (08:58):
An a man and a man again. And Elder Baker,
please tell the Kingdom when and where Christ found you
and share a little of your journey to relationship with
our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus.

Speaker 4 (09:19):
Yeah, most definitely when we were young people. I share
just a tad bit of that. A few minutes ago,
there was an evangelist in that church movement. It was
a Bible Way worldwide. I don't know if you're familiar
with that. Smallwood E. Williams was the presiding bishop at
the time. It's a Holiness movement. Well. Mother Rose was

(09:42):
a missionary that traveled throughout that particular organization, and in
this particular week she held a week's revival at Unity
Bible Way Church on Chronicle Avenue here in Baltimore, Maryland.
She held a week's the Bible there, of which all
the young people were in attendance. And as we progressed

(10:05):
in that servance, all of the young people must have
been at least thirty of us. All of the young
people got saved that night, filled with the gift of
the Holy Ghost. Man, I will never forget that day.
In fact, I still remember it now. I was fourteen.
Actually I was fourteen years old. That gives you an
idea how long we've been in church. I was fourteen

(10:27):
years old on a Monday night, October twenty sixth, nineteen seventy.
I'll never forget my new birth in Christ. And one
of the things I've established in my brain is that
you can be in church for ten twenty years and
still don't know who Christ is. But man, we were
so blessed to have God to speak through her and

(10:51):
to inspire us to repent of our sins at a
young age and to give our lives to the Lord.
And that's how I found Christ. And I'll never forget
the day that the Lord came into my life. How
I good?

Speaker 10 (11:05):
And what is your purpose and calling in the Body
of Christ and in the Kingdom of God.

Speaker 4 (11:12):
It's a good question. My calling and my purpose involves
both the spoken word of God as well as music.
Now my purpose is to preach Christ and Christ alone.
First Corinthians two and two says for I this is Paul,
I resolved to know nothing while I was with you

(11:36):
except Jesus Christ and him crucified. And another verse that
will explain my purpose in Christ and purpose for the
ministry is found also in that same chapter in the
same book, First Corinthians, first chapter, twenty three verse, but
we preach Christ and Christ crucified. That is the basis

(12:02):
and the purpose of my ministry. Whether it's preaching the
Word of God, we preach Christ. Whether we're singing the
word of God, we sing Christ.

Speaker 10 (12:13):
A man Amen and ape man a. Give Elder Baker, please,
and now's our topic, begin our discussion, and let's go
to the Word of God.

Speaker 4 (12:27):
Yes, sir, the topic today. God was leading me in
the direction of the peace of God. If I were
to have a title for tonight's brief discussion, it would
be the Peace of God, a gift beyond him and understanding.

(12:48):
And I can find that written in the Book of Philippians.
Philippians of fourth chapter, verses six and seven, reef like this,
be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer, supplication
and thanksgiving, let your request be made known unto God.

(13:10):
And here it comes. And the peace of God, which
passes all understanding. Will God your hearts and your minds
through Jesus Christ himself. The reason why God had put
this on my heart, Apostle Ross, it's because I look

(13:31):
at society. I look at our world around us today.
People are losing it. People are living in fear when
they look at our economy and look at the economics,
and you look at how divided our churches are, and
they look how divided our political syste systems are. And

(13:56):
God is letting me know, and let me speak to
everyone here tonight under the sound of my voice. Do
not operate in fear, because God has not given us
the spirit of fear, but of power and of love
and of a sound mind. When the devil gets into

(14:19):
your mind and the peace in your life is just gone.
There was a scenario where a young man nineteen years
old waited until everybody left the house to go to
work or go to school or what have you. He
stayed home and he listened to those voices in his

(14:40):
head and he took his own life. He did not
have peace, and his only solution to whatever he was
going through was to take his life. But I'm here
to encourage everybody here tonight that the peace of God
wants to rest. The peace of God wants to rule,

(15:02):
the Peace of God wants to abide in your life,
believer as well as unbelievers. And I would like to
first start with what is peace? What is the peace
of God? The peace of God is supernatural that comes
from a deep relationship with Him. It's not just merely

(15:25):
the absence of conflict, apostle, but a state of inner
calm and assurance. Have you ever gone through something so
tumultuous and maybe at work or at home and in
your community, and whatever happened, people are like pulling their
hair out there. They're like, man, what are you going

(15:47):
to do now? But they're looking at you and they
see how calm you are, and they see how assured
you are of knowing that everything is going to be.
Just find that's the kind of peace that God gives us.
That's the kind of peace that God wants us to

(16:08):
live by. I don't care how bad it looks, how
hard it gets, or how rough the storm of life
blows our way. Just know that the peace of God
will guard our hearts and it will guard our mind,
and the peace of God, like I force stated, it
is just not the absence of trouble, or or deep

(16:33):
rooted in things that will destroy or seem to destroy us.
But our confidence, our peace, is rooted in the confidence
of God or Mighty himself. Hallelujah. Another verse of scripture,
John fourteen twenty seven, Jesus offers peace. This is what

(16:57):
he said, My peace I give to you, not as
the world gives. See the world gives circumstantial peace. But
God's peace is supernatural. His peace is beyond anything that
we can understand. Psalm's twenty ninety eleven. Listen, the Lord

(17:19):
gives strength to his people. The Lord blesses his people
with what peace? The world's solution to find peace? I'm
just gonna name a few. They find peace and alcoholism,
They try to drink and drown away their troubles. They

(17:43):
find peace and drugs and drug abuse and substance abuse.
They kind of figure, Man, if I just take this
one shot, I can just shoot these troubles away from
my mind and from my life. But look, when you
come down off of that high, guess what, those troubles
are still going to be right there. So peace through

(18:06):
God is just not the mere absence of trouble, But
he keeps us in the midst of all of our troubles.
Another thing that the world does they reach out to
money or wealth. They figure their money, their wealth and
their status can bring them great peace. But how many times,
people of God have We've seen people who were wealthy,

(18:30):
people who were well off and had everything imaginable that
you can have in life, and one day you wake
up and you hear that they committed suicide. So money
cannot please you. Money cannot satisfy you. Money cannot filled
that empty void of peace. Wealth can't do it. One

(18:50):
other thing that the world does they reach out for meditation,
deep meditation, transcendental meditation. That was like really popular back
in the seventies. But people feel that, man, you can
think positive, you can think real hard and if you
think of positive enough, things are going to change. The

(19:12):
Bible has puts great emphasis on the mind. Am I
right Apostle. He puts great emphasis on the mind. Let
this mind be in you, which was also in Christ
Jesus the Book of Romans. Be not conformed to this world,
but being transformed by the renewing of your mind. So

(19:34):
God understands that the mind is bodily important. That's why
the devil reaches out to us. That's why he tries
to destroy us in our minds. That's where the battleground
is is in your mind. Now, those are the solutions
that the world uses to find peace. But here are
biblical examples of God's peace. Mark fourth thirty nine says

(20:00):
Jesus was in the midst of the storm. Hallelujah. He
calmed the storms, he calmed the waves. And what happened.
He spoke to the storm, and the storm cease. Whatever
the storms are that you're going through in your life,
and we go through some stuff that will make your

(20:21):
head spend. But here the scripture is encouraging your hearts
that no matter what it looks like, no matter how
bad it looks, it's like, no hope, man, no way
am I going to get out of this. Let the
voice of Jesus Christ. Let the voice of yea Sure

(20:41):
speak to that storm. And I guarantee you, if you
supply the faith, God will get rid of that storm.
Another biblical experience. Another biblical example of peace, Acts sixteen
twenty five and twenty six Paul and Silas for sharing
the Word of God, preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ

(21:03):
they were thrown in prison. Very familiar scripture. I'm preaching
to the choir right now. They were thrown in prison,
but they found peace in the midst of that suffering.
They began to sing at midnight, the praises of God.
I don't know what the song could have been, but
whatever it was, they were singing from their hearts to

(21:25):
the point where it shook the foundation of the prison,
and it broke and loosed their change as well as
the people that were involved and chained up in prison
as well. And what does that do? That's why the
devil uses music in such a way that it does.
Because the devil uses music to destroy the world. God

(21:45):
uses music to free and to share his power through
the power of music. Yes, Now, the biblical understanding of
God's peace is this a gift from God. Philippians four
to seven describes describes it as a peace that surpasses

(22:08):
all understanding. Guard in your hearts and your minds in Christ,
Jesus Isaiah twenty six and three. Rooted in trust. Peace
is rooted in trust Isaiah twenty six and three. It says,
tell us that God keeps in perfect peace those whose
mind is stayed on him. If you need peace today,

(22:30):
keep your mind stayed on the Heavenly Father. Back to
your apostless Kingdom.

Speaker 10 (22:37):
Our topic for discussion for season ten of Left Talk
to the Lord is the peace of God give them.
The peace of God is a peace that only God
can give. It is the character and fruit of God,

(22:57):
the Holy Spirit. The peace of God is described as
a profound place of harmony and calmness in Christ, and
it transcends earthly circumstances. It's identified as comfort, reassurance, and
a dependable hope that comes when you trust in God

(23:21):
and his promises. However, this peace is not absent of conflict.
It doesn't mean you won't always feel pain or be hurt,
but this gift from the Holy Spirit. Once it's released
and you release that inner pain, it quiets our souls

(23:43):
even amidst chaos, providing strength and hope during the times
of storms of life.

Speaker 4 (23:52):
When the peace.

Speaker 10 (23:53):
Of God rules your heart, it manifests in what we
do and say. So. Kingdom peace is not circumstantial. God's
peace is activated by the presence of God, by the
Holy Spirit. Many times is activated by prayer, worship, or

(24:15):
by speaking it. You can speak it into existence. The
peace of God is like a defense that stands guard
over our mind and decision making. To Philippians four and seven,
Kingdom and the Weymouth New Testament translation declares, and the

(24:37):
peace of God, which transcends surpasses all our powers of thought,
will be a garrison, meaning like a military post or station,
to guard our hearts and mind in union with Christ
Jesus so Kingdom. The Weymouth New Testi, otherwise known as

(25:02):
the New Testament in modern speech, is by Richard Francis
Weymouth Kingdom and the Peace of God originates from God himself.
It's a state of wholeness and harmony with God. It's
a gift that accompanies the presence of God. It's a

(25:23):
peace that yes you will promise to his followers that
is distinct from the world's peace. This piece acts as
a soldier over the emotions and the intellect of a
person in a relationship with God through Christ, protecting us
from anxiety and fear like a soldier. It's a divine

(25:47):
piece that is a spiritual blessing found only in Christ. Jesus.
Yes you a mediated this peace between God and humanity.
This beef passive all understanding and it flows through our
thoughts and the issue from the heart for the heart.

(26:11):
Eliphad Luther Baker, please give the final words on our
topic of discussion, the peace of God.

Speaker 4 (26:22):
Yes, sir, the final words I'd like to share is
from this perspective how to experience the peace of God.
Number one trust in him. Yes, in other words, surrender
your worries and rely on his promises. Number two pray

(26:43):
with thanksgiving. Filippians four to six teaches that peace comes
when you bring our concerns to God. Number three meditate
on his words. Psalm one nineteen, verse one in sixty
seven says great peace. Have those who love your law.

(27:08):
Number four live in obedience. In other words, walking in
righteousness brings peace. Isaiah thirty two and seventeen tells us
that so remember trust in him. That's how you experience
God's peace. Number two pray with thanksgiving. Number three, meditate

(27:29):
on his word. Number four, live in obedience. Walking and
righteousness brings peace. Isaiah thirty two seventeen. Back to you,
Apostle Loss.

New Foundation. Luther B and New Foundation. That's a family
group that consists of my brother Kenneth Baker, my daughters

(29:44):
Ivy and Joy Baker, and we recorded that at a
recording studio here in Baltimore or Kaynesville. And God has
really blessed that particular song and it's a song that
gives hope. It's a song that gives encouragement that no

(30:05):
matter what you're going through, it is but the Peace. Again,
no matter what you're going through, take your burdens, Take
everything that burdens you to the Lord, because it can
be done. And also I prayed for a song for resurrection,
resurrection Sundays and the time where we recognize and observe

(30:30):
the resurrection of Jesus Christ. That's where that song Jesus
the Lamb of God came in because it is so
important as believers to continue to remember the suffering that
Jesus did on the cross, and that's what this song
reflects and reflects his suffering, his resurrection from the dead as.

Speaker 10 (30:52):
Well and Kingdom. The music of Elder Baker are in
rotation on Life Talk to the Lord Radio International and
now the Baker. Before we go, please tell us about
Word and worship radio.

Speaker 4 (31:12):
Yes, of course, you know sometimes when you're in the
music business, and you send your music out to various
radio stations or what have you, and you look for
them to play it, and they're a little slow in
doing that. So God said. I started getting discaraged by

(31:32):
that a little biting, and God said, well, just start
your own radio station. I said, what I said, how
do you do that? So I did some research and
discovered that really starting a digital radio station is quite easy,
and it's very inexpensive, not as not even close to
being expensive in terms of your standard physical radio stations.

(31:52):
But God gave me the call letters w WAW, which
is word in worship, because that's what the station consists of. It.
It consists of worship music. It consists of the teaching
of God's word as well. So the station is still young,
we're growing. You can hear the station on Live three

(32:16):
sixty five as well as oh my Gosh, it escapes
