Well, first of all, happy New Year to you, mister
Ross and to Let's Talk to the Lord podcast show.
Me personally, uh, I don't consider myself. Uh it's it's
it's somebody special. But you know, of course the God
We're always special. I I am just a boy from

you know, North Carolina, Gransborough, North Carolina. I'm thirty one
years of age. I am a uh music producer, songwriter, entrepreneur.
Oh man, I mean it's just God has given me
uh so many hats to wear well, We'll literally be
talking all day about the gifts that God has given me.

But but yeah, I'm I'm just somebody that is you know,
North Carolina.

Uh.

I'm living here now in uh L Orlando, Florida, uh
with my wife. I've been married for five years. Uh
currently I don't have any children right now currently. So yeah,
that's just that's just a little bit about me. And
and again I I do appreciate you for having me talking.

Oh Man, OMG LIT is well.

Speaker 6 (12:10):
First, I released my first single back in twenty fourteen.
The name of that single is called OMG and so
from there, I had just named the business OMG. So
anything that I've ever did from music or the podcast

or anything of that nature, I always name it OMG Experience.
But the name of the podcast is called OMG.

A caters to independent artists, faith based business owners, and
I've also featured a celebrity guest. I've had Alecxi Spike,
Maurice Lockner from the Kyler Perry Dubie Powell has allowed
me to use some of his clips or his clip
on one of my shows, and it was just something

that was birthed during the pandemic twenty twenty. Most of
my friends are artists and musicians, and so I just
wanted to do something to keep everybody motivated, keep everybody inspired,
And so I birthed the show, and I opened it
up to anybody who wanted to be a part of it.

(13:25):
You know who it came to mind it, you know
what I'm saying, Like people who have gospel music and
you know, so it's not like a churchy podcast, but
it's still a podcast show that points to our God,
you know what I'm saying. And so I wanted to
set the presentation up more so for non believers or

(13:47):
non church goers or people who you know, kind of
go to church on and off, Like I wanted to
give a different presentation to reach that crowd and showing that, hey,
you know, even though we're in the midst of a pandemic,
God is still good, is still He's still moving, you
know what I'm saying, Even though certain parts of the
world were shut down or whatever the case may be.

You know, God is still good. God is still He's
still faithful.

Speaker 6 (14:09):
And so if God is still faithful, and you know,
and we as believers, if we have faith in God,
then you know, we should already know as believers that
God never stops moving just because something in the world
stopped moving, you know what I'm saying. So the Kingdom
is always moving, period, you know what I'm saying, regardless

(14:30):
of what takes place here on earth. So, you know,
but I've really wanted to birth the show catering to
small businesses and independent artists. I didn't charge anybody to
be a part of the show because of the time
that we were living in, you know what I'm saying.
Everybody was struggling, getting laid off, and you know, just
different situations were happening. So you know, I wanted to

do something that you know, bought some inspiration, bought some hope.

You know.

Speaker 6 (14:58):
I've allowed people to sell their goods and probably and
services on the show. And what I've seen like today,
like some of the people that were on the show,
it's like they're doing bigger and better things together on
the same platform. It's just God has literally bought all

the guests together. And it's like I'm seeing you know,
a few people here and there, you know, with Kirk
Franklin and this this all man like. God has really
been blessing the guest that was on the show. So
I mean, all glory belongs to the Lord. So yeah,
But the whole purpose was it was just to bring

(15:41):
inspiration and you know, uh, fill the people's hearts with joy.

Speaker 7 (15:48):
And brother Hawkins, please kill the kingdom. When and where
Christ found you and share a little of your journey
to relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus.

Speaker 6 (16:01):
Yes, sir, so Christ found me. I was always in church,
you know what I'm saying. Because my grandfather he was
a bishop, my aunt minister of music, my moms he's
a speaker, My brothers their musicians, and you know, I've
always had.

Speaker 10 (16:18):
Church, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 6 (16:20):
Inside and then of course at church.

Speaker 10 (16:22):
It was at church all the time.

Speaker 6 (16:24):
But the real relationship with the Lord didn't really happen
until I got into crazy relationships. It was more so
in my dating life. Really was when I found God.
Like the situations that I had endured in some of
these relationships has kind of shaped me to have a
relationship with the Lord, you know what I'm saying a

(16:47):
lot of a lot of times, you know, we think
that relationship with God only starts at church. A relationship
with God can start at the mall, it could start,
it can start anywhere, you know what I'm saying. But
it was just my personal journey, you know, it's my experiences.
It pretty much drew me closer to God, if that

(17:07):
makes sense. So that's how I found Christ through the
different experiences that He's allowed.

Me to experience.

Speaker 6 (17:15):
And you know, I've been locked in ever since.

Speaker 7 (17:20):
And what is your calling and purpose in the Body
of Christ and in the Kingdom of God?

Speaker 6 (17:29):
Oh man, my calling it's just it's it's very I
think it's very you know, simple. I think that it
has nothing to do with a title.

Speaker 10 (17:41):
I think it has more so to do with being
a believer. You know what I'm saying. I believe that
we should.

Speaker 6 (17:51):
It's not about teaching and preaching and you know, it's
not all about the gifts and talents.

Speaker 10 (17:56):
But I'm more concerned with how do you treat your neighbor?
Do you love your neighbor? You know what I'm saying, Like,
it's stuff like that. And you know, uh, what does
your temperance look like?

Speaker 6 (18:10):
Uh?

Speaker 10 (18:10):
What does your attitude look like? Uh? Are you humble?

Speaker 7 (18:15):
Like?

Speaker 10 (18:15):
You know what I'm saying, just just being a believer.
You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 6 (18:19):
In Christ, I think that that's that should be everybody's calling,
you know, outside of the gifts, because you know, I
do believe that God does make room for the gifts
and you know or whatnot.

Speaker 10 (18:31):
But I'm more so strict on, you know, how I
carry myself as a believer and how I treat people
as a believer. So I believe that that's my CAUs.

Speaker 7 (18:43):
Amen and Kingdom. I will be interviewing Brother Hawkins about
the story behind the song in your presence to begin Kingdom.
To feel God's presence denotes the Holy Spirit is with you,
and God is present with us and right where we are.

(19:07):
So Kingdom, we recognize as we feel God's presence that
it's again a sign that God is right where you are.
Ephesians two and eighteen declares that we have access to
God through Christ by the Holy Spirit. First Corinthians three
and sixteen and six and nineteen declares that Holy Spirit

(19:30):
lives on the inside of us and we are actually
built up to be a dwelling place of God by
the spirit declared in Ephesians two and twenty two, and
there are many different manifestations of God. But we must
walk with the Lord in obedience and faith for the

(19:54):
sweet fellowship that comes from obedience and trust in the Lord.
And this is not just a mere passing feeling, but
this is the sustaining power of God that sustains us
and leads us during the time of trials kingdom. The

(20:15):
gifts of the Holy Spirit are wisdom, understanding, knowledge, counsel, fortitude, piety,
and the fear of the Lord. Other abilities are prophecy, healing, faith,
and the ability to disern spirits Kingdom. Piety is fervor,

(20:37):
loyalty to God, reverence for God, and zeal for God.
It is also a love for God's character and veneration
of Him. It's the act of showing reverence and worship
of God and respect for others as children of God.
Of all the gifts, there is no greater than the

(21:01):
presence of the Holy Spirit. God sends the Spirit to
be our helper, comforter and God. The Spirit takes up
residence in our hearts, feeling us with the confirming, certifying
and assuring us our eternal state as God's children. So,

(21:23):
Brother Hawkins, what role has the Holy Spirit taken in
your life and music? Ministry, the gift.

Speaker 6 (21:33):
Of the Holy Spirit, you know, as you stated, is
our helper and so oh that that honestly that that
that's alone. That's a long list because God has held
me through many situations, but more specifically as far as.

Speaker 10 (21:55):
Musically, you know, I believe that.

Speaker 6 (22:00):
You know, as I'm writing, you know, sometimes you know, God,
God will give you he will give me the lyrics
you or what to say, what not to say, and
even as I'm.

Speaker 10 (22:10):
Producing, He'll give me the notes to play. He give
me the core structures, you know, and things of that nature.

Speaker 7 (22:16):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (22:17):
In my personal life, you know, sometimes God will uh
you know, let me know you know, who to bless
who not the blessed, what to say, well not to say?
So I mean, I believe that God cares. Uh, he
cares about every aspect of our life. And He's here
to help us in every aspect of our life.

Speaker 10 (22:36):
And not just to the church. You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 6 (22:40):
God, God, he he cares about every aspect of our life.
So that's how a holy experience has helped me.

Speaker 7 (22:48):
And Brother Hawkins, what message would you have for an
artist who has not become saved yet on how valuable
repentance is and the rule of the Holy Spirit in
our artistry.

Speaker 6 (23:06):
For for people who are not saved and don't know
the Lord. Barba says, if you confess with your mouth
and believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord, then.

Speaker 10 (23:19):
You shall be saved. I believe a lot of times.

Speaker 6 (23:24):
Christianity has a certain look to certain people, or you
know what I'm saying, to people who are not really
matured in the body of Christ. I believe that Christianity
or just being saved. I don't want to put religion
on it, but just being saved, being a believer in Christ.

(23:46):
To some people, it has a certain look when God said, y'all, look,
I come that you may have life, have life more abundantly,
you know what I'm saying. So like, it's it's it's
not you know what I'm saying, being saved and being
a believer. It's not put in a box, you know
what I'm saying. It's it's so much freedom in God.
Wherever the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

(24:08):
So I mean, it's it's freedom in God. You know
what I'm saying. Uh, it's freedom in God to start
the business. It's freedom in God to use your gifts. Uh,
it's freedom in God to you know.

Speaker 7 (24:17):
Uh, I don't know.

Speaker 6 (24:19):
Get give somebody a word, give somebody ack. You know
what I'm saying. So like God's goodness is just you
know what I'm saying, it's it's not put in a box.

Speaker 10 (24:30):
You know what I'm saying is it's free.

Speaker 6 (24:34):
And I don't I'm not saying, you know, free as
in a price tag, but I'm saying there there, there,
there is freedom in God, you know, to start their business,
to to to write that song.

Speaker 10 (24:46):
You know, it's it's if being free God.

Speaker 6 (24:48):
Looks like you know, wearing cut jeans and a T shirt.

Speaker 10 (24:50):
Man, that's that's all I wear. You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 6 (24:54):
I believe that freedom and God doesn't have a look. Uh,
it doesn't have of an appearance. I don't think, you know.
I believe that freedom in God comes with relationship. I
believe that he'll lead you and he'll guide you, you know,
on what to what to who to rock with, who

(25:15):
not the rock with. He'll give you wisdom and guidance.
But of course that comes with relationships. So but I
do want to encourage everybody that's listening. If you're not saved,
you're thinking about being saved, you're thinking about being baptized,
or if you're thinking about being baptized again. You know,

(25:35):
know that God is always He's always there with open arms,
and He's ready to receive you at any given time.
You don't have to be a church, you know, for
God to meet you where you are. And that's the
beautiful thing about God. He will meet you where you are,
you know what I'm saying. So all you got to
do is just trust Him and believe in your heart

(25:55):
that He is Lord of your life.

And kingdoms. The presence of the Holy Spirit with us
enables us to have understanding, revelation, and interpretation of God's work. Yes,
you would declare to his disciples. When the spirit of
truth comes, he will guide us into all truth. He
will reveal to our minds the counsel of God, opening

(26:25):
our understanding and making all things clear. The Holy Spirit
is living water, wind, fire, and our intercessor and power.

In your presence, oh man, in your presence, I can
remember the exact day. I don't know the exact day,
but I remember it was on a specific day. I
remember what I was doing when I wrote the song,
you know, first as I'm producing, you know, of course,

like humilodies and things of that nature.

Speaker 10 (27:07):
So this particular day, I I picked up my pen
and paper, and.

Speaker 6 (27:12):
I was thinking about the things that I've always dreamed about,
you know what I'm saying. I I was thinking about
what I envisioned, what my life should have been, or
or should be, you know, within the the time to come,
you know what I'm saying. So like I was in
that mindset, I was thinking about my dreams and what
I was envisioning U for my life. And so then

(27:35):
as I began to write in your Presence, it was
more of a reminder to myself that, you know, God,
you got me covered. God, I know you gonna do this. God,
I know you gonna make going for my gifts. God,
I know that you're gonna, you know, take me places
where I've always dreamed. What why I've always dreamed of?

I just didn't.

Speaker 6 (27:57):
I don't know how you're gonna do it, but you
do it. I'm gonna remain in your presence. So that song,
which pretty much birthed from that mindset, you know, of
you know, Lord, I'm trusting you with my dreams. I'm
trusting you with my vision. I don't know how it's
gonna happen. I don't know when it's gonna happen. But
all I know is as long as I stay right

here in your presence, I know that. I know that
you're gonna make everything comes to pass, everything that I've
ever asked for a thought or imagine. I know you're
gonna go beyond that. I know you're gonna exceed that.
So until then, I just remain in your presence.

Goodness gracious that that's uh that that right there, man,
that's that's a testimony in itself. But uh, I remember
just listening to you know, my mentor my pastor to
tribute just listening to his his music, listening to uh

a couple of songs, uh that inspired I made it.
And then of course, uh, my personal testimony. You know,
I was man, I was being bullied all the time
back in school. I was labeled with a learning disability,
and you know what I'm saying, and people actually, uh
they took advantage of that.

You know what I'm saying.

Uh, people have actually taken advantage of that. And when
I started out in music, I really didn't trust myself
to write because of.

Speaker 10 (31:35):
The bullying and and all of that. And so.

Speaker 6 (31:39):
When I finally trusted myself to write again and I
came up with this song right here, I made it.

Speaker 10 (31:46):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (31:46):
It just reminded me of what I made it through
when I, you know, was enduring the the the the
bullying and uh you know, uh things that I was
dealing with at school at school, uh as far as
to learning disability and you know, just other traumas that
I made it through. So that that really inspired the song,

along with listening to some of my my favorite songs
by my mentor and in some of his messages as well,
So that.

That's pretty much sparred.

Speaker 6 (32:19):
I made it, and it's far, so amazing, so amazing.
You know that there's no actual story behind it. Uh,
it was just you know, one particular day during the pandemic,
I was just sitting, you know, behind the desk, creating,
just creating music, creating random loops and beats and just

just trying so so you know, but that song So.

Amazing was birth.

I actually remixed it so that there's an original version.
It's not out, but but there's an original version, and
then there's the remix version. So I put out the
remix version of so Amazing, you know, and this this
song points towards God.

You know, he's graded in our problems, he's graded in
our situations.

He's just so amazing, you know what I'm saying, Like,
there's there's no there's no other guy that comes before
our guy.
