Speaker 1 (00:02):
Are you ready to level up? Do you wish to
live a life of options and not obligations? You've gone
to the right place. Thank you for stopping on by
to hear knowledge nuggets from Coach Fergie and his top
tier guest to help you lean into your ultimate human potential.
Now let's level up with Coach Burghee.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Hey, Varsity Squad, Welcome back to another powerful edition of
Love All Conversations with Coach Fergie. I'm your host, Scott Ferguson,
blessed to be your gap coach specializing in performance mental conditioning,
working with business leaders, entrepreneurs, entertainers, athletes, c suite and
students to help them bridge their success gap to live
a life of options and not obligations. On this platform,
we are stoked to bring you high performers or not

(00:42):
just chasing and attaining success, but redefine it through providing
above and beyond service. And this little coaching nugget I'm
gonna drop real quick right now, is about imposter syndrome.
I mentioned it a little bit a couple of weeks ago,
but I'm going to go a little bit deeper. A
lot of people with their imposter syndrome, what they do
is they are attaching their abilities to their confidence. And

(01:02):
when that happens, the imposter syndrome sets in and they're like, wait,
what do I Should I really be doing this? Like
I ask myself, can why am I speaking in front
of you know, one hundred to one thousand people? You know?
Who am I to coach a billionaire? Who am I
to coach a professional athlete? My coach circles me back
a lot and reminds me to attach my confidence to
my intentions. My intentions is to level up our mission

(01:25):
at time to shine today is to influence and elevate
people to lean into their ultimate human potential. So as
long as I remember to lean into my intentions, then
the confidence just comes. And I want you to do
that as well. So if you're not feeling confident about something,
think about what you are intentional about for the day.
Lean into that and the confidence will come, and I
promise you that it will. And talking about like confidence

(01:46):
and just somebody that I immensely respect, I'm bringing on.
I call her my sister from another mister here. We're
bringing the heat. Who's with somebody that's not just changing bodies,
she's transforming lives Kerrie Marafino is the powerhouse behind cam
results in, the author of the game changing thirty one
day Workout Challenge. She's a certified NASIM personal trainer and
nutrition coach. But there's the twist. Carrie isn't just sculpting physiques,

(02:10):
She's rewiring minds. And she's also my sound healing or
vibration wellness coach as well. I go through her sessions
and it totally resets me and gets me right back
on track. And she also has which will cover. She
also has awesome home sound sessions where she has people
come over and hang out at her pool and she
puts them through it and they leave just phenomenally leveled up.

(02:30):
She's also a mindset and wellness coach, a dedicated mom
of two, and the proud wife of a retired Captain
firefighter Lenny Marafino got that Lenny. Carrie knows firsthand how
to blend grace and growth. She's master of the art
of customized coaching because she believes no two paths to
health are the same. Clients rave about her compassionate, no
fluff approach that gets real results. If you're ever told

(02:51):
yourself this plan isn't working carries here to flip that
script to ignite the one that does. So turn up
the volume, grab a pen, sit back, relaxed because I'm
bringing in my sister.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Thank you so much for coming on, love, Thanks for
having me back Batman.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
So I know you helped level me up with my
essential oils vibrational wellness. You leave me kind of like
in a state of zen and ready to be able
to serve my coaching clients as well. So what has
been going on?

Speaker 3 (03:16):
Lots of great things, Lots lots of sound baths and
just helping people level up like you do as a coach,
and it's really just getting them out of their head
and more in touch with their body.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Love it. You've helped so many people like Transformalize. Everybody
that goes to your events or you've coached, they always
rave about you. And I'm not just saying that they do,
but you've helped so many. What's the first mind shift
someone needs to make before any real physical or mental
change can happen. What do you think that shift is.

Speaker 3 (03:46):
I think one of the big shifts for people is
to know that they're accountable for their success, look inside
themselves for their success and not point the finger at
outside forces.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
Right responsibility, which with my coach, which I've been blessed
to coach, carry a little bit as well in mindset.
You know, responsibility is the ability to respond right. And
they take that responsibility and you hold them accountable. That's fantastic.
So with your kind of you know, your sound baths
and your vibrational sessions. But what's the biggest myth behind that?
Like a lot of people will say, oh, how does
sound help me? What is it about sound? They can

(04:23):
you know, help reset or reframe or whatnot? Like, what
is it about sound? I know, I'll tell you this.
I'll be like, carry, what the hell's sound going to
do for me? I've told you that here, Fergie, just
give me a shot with that. And this was like
years ago and I did, and I was like, yeah,
now I don't miss sessions. So what is it about it?

Speaker 3 (04:39):
I think there's a lot of woo woo about it.
People don't really know about it, or they see something
maybe on TV or YouTube or whatever, and they just
get this impression of it that it's just really far
out there. Right, And I have different clients and I
look at you know, who is the client? What are
they what can they relate too? So when I have

(05:01):
somebody that's in a different, different mindset, I bring it.
I break it down to the science of sound, right,
and the if they're musical at all, I bring it.
I break it down to the musical notes and frequencies
in terms that they can understand. You know, they know
they know about music, or they know the different notes
and how they're important and affect you. So just speaking

(05:22):
to them in a way that they would understand it.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
Right, And so you you break it down for them,
but you're also kind of finding out what's where they're
struggling the most, because I know with me, you're like, okay,
for you're struggling here. You can feel it in my
body and you're like, well, what's this. I'm like, dude,
you're not even touching me. You know it's that. So
how is it that you have the ability to kind
of sense I mean, people are gifted with it. Before

(05:48):
I got it, man, I wasn't down with it right,
But now I know so many people that are like you.
But there's that gift, Like what is it that you
really tune into to know? Like for Aget, I remember
that one day it was in my upper back. You
weren't even touching me, Like, what's going on here? Like?
What is it that? How can you tune into that?

Speaker 3 (06:05):
Well, if you think about people's energy, like if you
ever had the feeling that somebody was following you, or
the hair stood up on the back of your neck
when someone comes into our space just there, you know,
your heart amids electric you knowerency and frequency, just by
them being within ten or twelve feet of you, you

(06:28):
can you can actually feel that your brain actually senses that,
believe or not. So I think just being in somebody's space,
or if you have somebody that has no respect for
personal space, like they get too close, right, you feel that?
You feel yeah, whether and you usually feel it before
you see it.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
Yeah, yeah, absolutely. In you know the squad, you're out
there listening. If you really think about how do these
sound waves get to you. There's not wires hooked up
or whatnot. I've been in a coaching session where my
coach hit a key on the piano and the chandelier
moved so because it was the vibrationals there, and that's

(07:07):
stuff that people there's sometimes gifted, but they also can
learn about their body and the vibrational frequencies, So kind
of getting into where you say that what works for
one person doesn't work for all, right, and you don't
just do the vibrational you know, healing, but you're also
if you if you've ever seen her, she's built like
a brick and her training sessions are absolutely insane. I

(07:30):
don't do them because I can't keep up. But you say,
you know, well, what what fits for one person doesn't
work for all, Like, how do you personalize a client plan?
And how do you make it stick? Because you have
awesome testimonials, right, so how do you get it? How
do you personalize that? How do you make it stick
for people?

Speaker 3 (07:48):
It's listening to the client, honestly, And you know when
someone tells me, oh, my friend did this and I
want to do that, I say no, you don't. Right,
just because it worked for your friend doesn't mean it's
going to work for you. Everybody is different. So let's
break it down and figure out what you have going on,
what your body responds to, what it doesn't respond to.

(08:10):
And it takes some tweaking, but it's really about listening
to your body. And that's that comes back to going
inside and being present with yourself sure, and not relying
on outside forses again because it's you know your body
better than anyone, So I can't tell them what's going
to work for their body. They have to give me
the feedback.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
Well, once you get enough of that feedback, you can
really help them set up a plant. How about making
them stick to it? Not making them and encouraging them
to stick to it.

Speaker 3 (08:37):
I think part of that is getting results, sure, and
celebrating along the way, because if you don't celebrate the
little milestones, I think people get lost and they lose focus.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
Thank you for saving that.

Speaker 3 (08:51):
Yeah, if they have this big goal they want to
lose thirty pounds or whatever it is, you know, you
really need to break it down for them. Why do
they have that goal? What would their life be like
if they don't hit all that? But also to bring
them back to okay, that goal is you know, maybe
four or five, six months out or whatever the timeframe is, right,
but bringing it down so that they have smaller goals

(09:14):
to go after because otherwise, you know, that's a long
period of time they're not They can't focus for thirty
seconds on something, you know, how are they going to
focus for months? At a time if they're not seeing
any results absolutely or celebrating the victories along the way.

Speaker 2 (09:29):
Yeah, when I got serious again because I was really
good shipped as younger, and then I ballooned up to
like three hundred and fifteen pounds and I started working
with some of this one as a Michigan, I was
wasn't getting the results like so, like I wanted them
after you have the initial drop, right, And he said,
you know, it didn't take you four months to get fat.
You know what I'm saying, which is the truth. It

(09:50):
was there. And also he reminded me, and I know
you do this with your clients as well, because we've
talked about it over a kava or something about giving
yourself credit for will progress. Right, It's like you don't
always see it, but it's there right right, So with
the encouragement that you have. So if you're in the
discovery session, you're making sure you're the right horse for

(10:11):
the course, the right coach for them. What's kind of
your secret sauce if you don't mind me, you know,
mind sharing about how you shine a light on that
initial blind spot that's that's making it sticking them or
keeping them stuck.

Speaker 3 (10:27):
Usually they don't see it themselves, right, And I found
that whatever they tell me they want, that's not what
they want. The first few things that they tell you.
You really have to keep asking them what do you want?
What do you want? Because the first thing is what
they think they should want right right, and or what
they think they should have, or it's a lot of
shoulds and goods, and you know, you really have to

(10:48):
drill down and get to the bare bones of it
and what really makes them tick and how they want
to feel, how they want to function. If I can
make somebody feel better, you know, I'm having a great day, yeah,
because it doesn't matter what I do. But if I
can change how they feel, they'll remember me absolutely.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
And I love that you said woods and shoulds and shoulds.
We can should all over ourselves, right, but until we
want to make you know that massive change and take
that massive action. That's true. So is there any good
question during that discovery period that you wish they would
ask you? But never do?

Speaker 3 (11:27):
I wish they would ask me where I started, thank you,
instead of where I am now?

Speaker 2 (11:32):
Right right?

Speaker 3 (11:34):
Because me now it's a lot different than me thirteen
years ago.

Speaker 2 (11:37):
I'm with you right right.

Speaker 3 (11:39):
I mean we've all learned a lot and made progress
along the way. Yeah, it's a process. It doesn't just
happen overnight.

Speaker 2 (11:46):
I love it, and I love it that you're you're
also telling them listen, this is your goal, right and squad,
we've talked about this before and my coaching clients really
well know this, but goals and standards. You have your goals,
but if you do not live by the standards to
reach those goals, you'll never happen. So you've got to
set up standards. And that's what my good friend Carry
will help you do is set those standards, hold you

(12:07):
accountable to those standards so you will reach the goal.
And winners like Carry and all of you out there,
you know, the top of one peak is just the
bottom of the next. So you're consistently sending goals and
living into those standards. And Squad, we are going to
pick a quick break to thank my awesome sauce sponsor
Steve Austin from Dynamic Mortgage Steam and we're going to

(12:28):
come back and dig a little bit more into her
coaching programs.

Speaker 4 (12:33):
Happy Saturday, everyone, This is Steve Austin with Revolution Mortgage here.
With your market recap for the week of May fifth.
We came into this week looking to recover from the
slight declined mortgage bonds had last week and are coming
up a bit short. The Fed did not cut the
FED rate, which was expected, despite pressure from the White
House and from Chair Powell's press conference. They seem to
be holding the status quo that the economic data is

(12:55):
supporting their current position. It remains a tricky market to
predict with the uncertainty of the impact of terror, we'll
have any outstanding global trade deal negotiations. With the back
and forth, we are still seeing rates running the high
sixes to low sevens for conventional loans and the load
of mid sixes for government loans. We are into more
of a buyer's market right now, which opens up the
opportunity to buyers for more negotiating flexibility from sellers. That

(13:19):
is the gist of the market this week. This is
Steve Austin. You're a branch production sales manager and MLS

Awston Branch Production Sales Manager in MLS seven six two

(14:25):
three two eight. Revolution Mortgage in MLS one six eight
six zero four six is an equal.

Speaker 3 (14:30):
House and three.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
Hey squat, Welcome back to level up conversations with Coach Fergie.
And I'm sitting here with my good friend, my older
sister by eight months, Kerry Merrapino. We always kind of
talk about that, you know, she's got me by eight months.
But you know, Carrie, you know you're a coach, a
mom to Bella and little Lenny, phenomenal kids. I mean,
oh my gosh, these kids are amazing and awesome husband

(14:55):
Lenny and their cornhole champions are just just awesome people. Right,
But how do you balance showing up for others while
also protecting your own energy.

Speaker 3 (15:05):
I think it's making time for family because you know,
as you get busier, as I get busier, I don't
want them to feel like, oh, mom doesn't have time
for us. So it's always taking the time to sit
down with them and do things together as a family.
I think that's very important and and and for my
own space. So and it goes and it goes for

(15:27):
me and I'm really I'm really good at this. So
that's I'm really good at this. That's why I kind
of skip over it because it's it's become second nature.
And it always hasn't been that way. But I realized that,
you know, when I start feeling out of sorts, and
I try not to let it get to that point now,
right that I work on myself here. I do all
kinds of things. I do my own tune ups, you know.

Speaker 2 (15:48):
I do selfish with I am.

Speaker 3 (15:52):
And it's in the morning. I'm a morning person. So
I had to I was never a morning person. I
was just talking to Brian about this. I was never
a morning person, but I had to become one because
that was the only time that I could spend on myself.

Speaker 2 (16:03):
Yourself.

Speaker 3 (16:04):
Yeah, so I had to get up earlier, and I
chose to right. And once you get in the habit
of doing that, it becomes easier. But I chose to
do that so that I could have some quiet time,
so that I could go to the gym, so that
I could work on my mindset, so I could work
on visualization, all of the things that keep me sane, right,
and other things I do. And I teach my children

(16:24):
this too. You know, take time for yourself. Do facials.
You know, you don't have to go to a spot.
You can if you want to do it yourself. Just
take time to spend on your own, your mindset and
your own body and caring for yourself.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
I love that because.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
I get I'm the only person that gets to spend
twenty four hours a day with me, so I better.

Speaker 2 (16:42):
Be have I love that percent. It's kind of like
the whole when you're on an airplane, put your oxygen
mask on first, right, there's no way you can serve
others at the level that you do if you don't
take care of yourself. So how about when one of
your clients kind of falls off track? You know, how
do you coach them back without guilt or shaming them.

Speaker 3 (16:58):
I think it's just bringing it making.

Speaker 2 (17:00):
Them feel that way, Not that you ever do that, right,
but how do you bring them back?

Speaker 3 (17:03):
They do? They do fall off tracks, right, you know,
life happens, they get busy, and it's just really about
breaking it down for them and helping them see things
from a different perspective and bringing them back to I
keep in mind what their why is. Bring usually bringing
them back to their why. You know, they get in
a situation where they're like, this isn't working, I don't

(17:24):
know what to do. I'm not feeling overwhelmed or whatever
it is when they get in that agitated kind of state,
you know, because they're off bringing them back to well,
you have to really think about why are you really doing.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
This and you're saying that why as a coach, we
wh when Carrie's saying why, she's really not asking them why.
She words are different because why is a very judgmental word, right,
I never use why with.

Speaker 3 (17:47):
What do you want to accomplish exactly. You know, what's
what's the goal. That's why my kids and my family.
So I had children later in life. I took a
long time to find the right person.

Speaker 2 (17:58):
Yeah's awesome and bring you.

Speaker 3 (18:00):
Know, I'm just an older mom too. I just had
kids later in life. And I you know, when I
had my kids, I did the math and I was like, wow,
when they're forty, I'm going to be whoa you know,
things have to change or things have to be you know,
working properly so that I can lead an active life,
to be there for them and be able to spend

(18:20):
as much time with them as possible.

Speaker 2 (18:23):
And again, the kids are they're just awesome, great grades.
They Little Lenny's just a gentleman. Bellas are artists like extraordinari.
Just just fantastic kids. And I'm not just being biased
because you're one of my besties, right, but like because
they are like and I walk in there, hey, mister Scott.
They're so nice and they're so polite. But they're also

(18:44):
little savages too, you know, they get after like she's
a cornhole champion, right, a little bell Yeah, And like
Lenny is, he just is out there just making it
happen with robotics and and whatnot. So let me as
see some carriers. So what's one non negotiable wellness habit
you remac recommend to anyone, no matter what their fitness
or lifestyle is.

Speaker 3 (19:04):
The biggest one I would say is to just walk
and move your body.

Speaker 2 (19:08):
Movements medicine right right right.

Speaker 3 (19:10):
It doesn't it doesn't have to be anything crazy, and
it doesn't have to be for a long time, but
just to move your body. Sure, And I tell people
move your body before it moves you, because if you
just sit home and sit on the couch, love it,
it's eventually you're you're going to have an issue and
your body's going to tell you now you have to
move or you're going to die. Right, So move your
body before it moves you.

Speaker 2 (19:31):
And it's more expensive when you start having to use
medical to get fixed than actually getting up and just
moving your body. Just that walk after dinner, Susan, you know,
like she'll be like, oh I gotta walk. If not,
I'm going to like just feel like poop the rest
right night.

Speaker 3 (19:47):
And anyone can do it, and you can. You don't
have to have anything special to do it. So there's
really no excuse.

Speaker 2 (19:52):
I love it. I love it. And that's how about
these quick fixes bad diets? Like you know that you
hear out there, what do you talk client? It's about
kind of chasing shortcuts.

Speaker 3 (20:03):
There are no shortcuts. You have to do the work, really, really,
you have to you have to do the work. Something
might work for a short term, right, but then you're
it's going to go back the other way. And that's
when people lose their focus, right, So they need to
It helps if they're committed for the long term because
there's going to be ups and downs. I recently posted

(20:23):
a photo of my my weight on the scale and
it was like up down up down up downe up
up up down down down, you know, and it was
just crazy, And I said, don't don't, you know, rely
on just a number on the scale because it's going
to be a crazy roller coaster ride and there's other
factors at play. So determine what your measurements are that
you want to keep track of. You know, what's your data?

(20:44):
Watch your data, and more importantly, how do you feel.

Speaker 2 (20:48):
Right and pay attention to the data the data, like like,
don't be afraid of it because a lot of people
are so afraid of looking at you know, I I do.
I have like an HRV the heart rate variants that
that that it's never right, and I'm working on getting
that right right. And it's like I hate looking at
this darn whoop that's on my wrist. It's like I
just look at it. But I'm you know, my coach

(21:08):
is like look, you know, see it.

Speaker 3 (21:10):
And then you get a day where it actually goes
up and they're like, Okay, what did I do because
something clicked? Yes?

Speaker 2 (21:16):
Right, So you got to tell me, like, what's one
moment from your coaching journey so far where you knew
you were doing your life's work.

Speaker 3 (21:27):
Let's see, I knew I was doing my life's work.
Had I had a client who she was overweight. She
came to me and she really wanted to do like
triathlons and run and she used to swim, I think,
and all along the way she just wasn't getting the support.
Like she'd go to family gatherings and they would be

(21:47):
making fun of her for not eating whatever they were eating,
or they were you know, like making jokes ahead of time. Now,
well what do well, you can't eat anything? Why are
you even here? You know, and it was more about
enjoying the environment. But when she got done with me,
and it was a struggle because working through that can
be hard, especially when you don't have, you know, a
husband who's a great cook and cooks healthy like I do.

Speaker 2 (22:10):
Right, it's a.

Speaker 3 (22:12):
Chal or if you don't cook yourself and you don't
you know, know what choices to make. But she finally
managed to get through that with my guidance and we
actually did a five k together. Wow, And now she
does Triathla.

Speaker 2 (22:25):
Do you give her a shout out? What's name? Are
you allowed to say her name?

Speaker 3 (22:29):
Her name is Ronica? But she's just really amazing.

Speaker 2 (22:31):
That's awesome because.

Speaker 3 (22:33):
You know, sometimes you get clients who you're like, I'm
not sure where this is going to end up or
where it's going to go. And I'm just so proud
right of what she did. And it took digging down
deep to you know, say no, this is what I'm
going after and I'm going after it.

Speaker 2 (22:47):
I love it and having you there just along the way,
because it's like, you know, as a coach is you're
you're in a you're kind of like a coach sultant
because you've got to consult them as well along the
way where everyone knows what they want, they just don't
know how to talk themselves into it all the time.
And then they keep them accountable and to be able
to adjust on the fly. That's one of the strengths

(23:08):
that I see in you quite a bit, which is
something that's it's kind of rare, squad to have somebody
that actually can take one thing and then move it
over to the next and just like that chess board,
especially when it comes to your health and wellness. So
what how does Carrie want her dash? Remember that little
line in between your incarnation date and your expiration date,

(23:29):
your life date and death day. Hopefully it's way down
the line. But how does carry want her dash? Remember?

Speaker 3 (23:35):
I want it to be remembered that I lived life
fully and it was you know, was active and present
in the moment I want. I want that dash to
be that memories were created that were good memories, that
I was present in the moment, that I lived life
as well as I could and was able to do
the things that I wanted to do because I was

(23:57):
healthy for as long as I could be.

Speaker 2 (23:58):
Love it. And if you can stay health, that you
can still keep servying and do and plus people are
going to look at you and they're gonna if you're
not looking the part, they're not going to lean in
and buy into the stuff, right right exactly. So what
do you think people might misunderstand about Carrett?

Speaker 3 (24:14):
I think sometimes people will mistake me for somebody who's

not a not a good hearted person, just because they're scared, right,

you're at and and inspire you to get to the
next level and keep leveling up. So what what would

(24:51):

Speaker 3 (24:55):
Lived life will lived? Is one where you have no regrets?
Yeah that looking back, you could say I did all
the things I wanted to do, spent time with the
people I wanted to spend time with. Yeah, and I
just that's a life while love to me, Yeah, I was.
I was happy in my body and my mind.

Speaker 2 (25:13):
Yeah, and be able to have experiences no matter what.

Speaker 3 (25:16):
Age, your experiences, conversations, memories. You know.

Speaker 2 (25:19):

and little Honey in Europe, and like being able to
do that and be able to keep up, you know,
and you're not old, but I mean we are in
our fifties. Yeah, you know what I'm saying. So it's
like be able to go out and keep up and stuff.

Speaker 3 (25:33):
But there are times where I've seen parents because I
am the older parent. I've seen parents where you know,
it's a birthday party for these young kids and I'm
the oldest mom there and I'm the only one on
the trampoline trampoline part, you know, everyone else, all the
other parents. They've actually told me I wish I could
do that. Yeah, I wish I didn't just have to
sit here and watch.
