Speaker 1 (00:01):
Life Bites with Wendy Wild, your bite sized podcast filled
with lifestyle stories, personal stories, and a roundup of stories
Wendy talks about on the radio.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Here's Wendy, Howdy do.

Speaker 1 (00:11):
Happy Monday. I hope you've had a wonderful weekend and
we're here to get you caught up on life because
Life Bites and we have small bites of life to
talk about as we do. I'm sorry, I'm so cheesy,
but hey, happy March. Finally we got through February, which
I'm sorry. Don't come at me if you're born in February,
but it is the worst month. I think most of

(00:34):
us can agree it is the worst month after January.
It's just too cold, Like I basically, when I'm not
at work, I've been in hibernation. I don't want to
do anything. I'm basically see through, like I cannot wait
to have some sunshine touch my face, to be outdoors
and not have it get so dark out so early,
which brings me to daylight saving time. I know we
all just kind of complain about the time change and

(00:57):
stuff like daylight saving time. I got to say, unpopular opinion.
I am here for it. I personally love daylight saving time.
I love the seven pm sunsets. Maxwell just walked in.
He's laughing at me. Why are you laughing?

Speaker 3 (01:10):
Because I'm still trying to figure out why do we
have daylight saving Like why is.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
It still a thing?

Speaker 1 (01:15):
It's something with the farmers.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
Yeah, but I mean, but do farmers even like care anymore?

Speaker 1 (01:22):
We would have to ask a farmer, do you know what? No?

Speaker 2 (01:25):
Oh McDonald at a farm. But here's the other thing too,
And and one.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
Thing I don't like about daylight saving time is people
who say daylight savings.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
Yeah, well you can say it if you don't have
the word time at the end. Like, for instance, daylight
savings is this weekend. You cannot say daylight savings time,
it's daylight saving time. I learned this from Cubby back
in the day, like.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
Twenty years about Covey.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
Goat all right, I hope I have that right. Okay,
I hope I have that right.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
It on Cubby Okay.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
Here, because the legislators have introduced all this stuff thing
like hey, like, let's get rid of the time change.
Where would you rather park yourself in standard time or
daylight saving?

Speaker 3 (02:02):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (02:03):
Wow?

Speaker 3 (02:04):
Whatever time that it doesn't become dark at three fifteen.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
Yeah, that would be daylight saving town.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
Let's go there, all right, that's what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (02:11):
Like I've been in hibernation mode. Like think about it.
I can hang out after work a little bit, see
my friends, like sit outside and have a margarita.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
You can, but you won't.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
Yep, I'm telling you.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
I do more.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
I do do more when it's not disgusting out because
we were just saying that February is the worst month.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
It's bummers.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
Sorry all, my Aquarius. This is how there. But Max,
first off, I just wanted to say thank you for
the gifts.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
You're welcome for the gifts.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
Cute. Max was in London, in London Town.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
I was in London Town.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
Do you want to talk about your trip?

Speaker 3 (02:43):
Yeah, Johnston across the pond to go to the Brits,
which was amazing, cover the carpet for the Brits, got
the go to the show and it was a whirlwind
trip only a couple of days, but it was it
was amazing. I love London. I've been there so many times.
I got family and friends now who were there, got
to visit what is kind of like our sister radio station.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
Wait, who is our sister station.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
Ok, shout out to my buddy Will Manning, who is
the afternoon drive host on that. So I got to
go and stop by the station and hang with him
for a bit. And then yeah, I got to go
to the bridge and it.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
Was it was sick.

Speaker 1 (03:18):
It was Yes, who was the biggest celebrity that you
talked to on the Red carpet?

Speaker 3 (03:22):
The biggest celebrity I talked to was Teddy Swims. Shout
out to my guy. Yeah. And it was amazing because
when you do things like that, especially when it's a
red carpet or an international show, when you're not one
of the biggest people there covering it for like the
company that is hosting the event or whatever, they tend
to just walk right past you on the carpet just
because there's so much media going on and these people
have places to go. So the excuse me the way

(03:45):
it went down with Teddy Swims, he was down the
carpet talking to like the major not that we're not
a major media.

Speaker 1 (03:51):
Out but this is not our house.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
This is not our house. They didn't expect me.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
We're towards the end of the carpet, but I see
Teddy he's got this this outfit.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
Just google it. Dude was looking. But that's exactly what happened.

Speaker 3 (04:02):
I walk up to his PR guy and I'm like, hey,
would Teddy like to talk to iHeartRadio in America. This
is our guy, you know whatever? Like, oh, we're sorry,
he has no time. We have to hurry up and
get inside. And I tell the guy, I'm like, dude,
this is literally like my family, Like I could text
him right now.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
I know this guy, this is my butt, Like, oh, well,
we're sorry, we have to get inside it.

Speaker 3 (04:17):
As soon as he finished talking to the one, he
made n made eye contact Max.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
What's up? And those two dudes that told me no
felt like big turd burn.

Speaker 1 (04:26):
Yeah exactly, but you know they're doing their job. We
can't eat on them like I have had that happen before. Yeah,
but you know, it always feels really cool when the
artist recognizes you.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
It happened with It happened with Teddy, it'd have with
Miles Smith. Shout out to Miles Smith.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
We love Miles Smith. I just played Miles Smith Starcas.

Speaker 2 (04:42):
Is amazing song. We talked to him.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
Who else I get the chance to chat with Flow
and uh and our girl Jade from Little Mix. I
was there in the moment where Flow, the three girl
group from the UK, and Jade, who had an amazing
night performance, saw each other and came together on the carpet.
I was stuck in the middle of a flow and
Jade I was the meat in between you.

Speaker 1 (05:01):
I always have like a weird story. I remember, was
it last year that you got almost got paparazzi.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
Oh yeah, it was paparazzi by Yeah with Ellie Goldie.

Speaker 3 (05:09):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:11):
You guys are going to be a new couple.

Speaker 3 (05:12):
I would have loved it, not even yeah right now. Yeah,
So it was an amazing time. So sorry to ramble,
but the show crazy. I didn't get hit by a
bus looking the wrong way when I was crossing the street.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
That didn't happen about that.

Speaker 1 (05:26):
Did you drive when you were there?

Speaker 3 (05:27):
You just took No, we totally took the tube. The
public transportation in London is amazing, immaculate, so it's not smelly,
was not smelly. Didn't have to worry about anybody getting
pushed onto the tracks.

Speaker 2 (05:38):
It ran on time.

Speaker 3 (05:40):
Yeah, we navigated my buddy and I got to show
love my buddy.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
Justin.

Speaker 3 (05:44):
Justin Smallholtes is one of the coolest photographers videographers.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
This is my guy. That's my dog. We went out
there and we crushed it.

Speaker 1 (05:50):
I love him. By the way, I'm putting back.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
Some stuff from Harris.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
So I have to mention. So I have sticky tabs
and there they're shaped in the I guess as bears.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
Yeah, teddy bears. That's coming.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
Almost like pencil erasers, but they're like little like.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
Post You can still reminders, which you.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
Know that I need because you know how I operate.
There you go forgetting everything. And then also my favorite twigs,
but this is a flavor that I have never tried,
salted caramel extra. Do you remember when producer I still
call himroducer Eric still producer Eric. He would lock up
the twigs because I would eat so many of them.

(06:25):
I have no self control. But then they kind of
got stale in there.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
Those are fresh the UK.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
That's amazing. Thank you so much. You're very thoughtful.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
I try. Thank you for We talked a little.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
Bit about the tube. I thought this would be a
good transition h New York City's transit system is you know,
seen better days. I don't want to say anything too
terrible about our city. But big announcement this weekend that
our former governor Andrew Cuomo is now in the race
for me. Without getting too political, I will say, like

(06:57):
everybody seems to have an opinion on this.

Speaker 3 (07:00):
Mine is, does does he, if he gets the job,
have to be under some type of strict orders like.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
Our current mayor? Do we have to see him in
the corner?

Speaker 1 (07:10):
I mean he has like controversy surrounding him too, which
you know, obviously without getting too political, but here's what
I remember about him, Like during the heyday of the pandemic,
do you remember Quomo TV? Oh my, all of us,
like middle aged ladies were just thirsting. This is obviously
before the allegations. But like I wonder now if, like

(07:31):
if he were to be our new mayor, which is
that's below governor, But if that were to happen, like,
would the same thing happen with the press conferences? Because
every Monday or Tuesday I see Mayor Adams on TV.
Would it be the same thing?

Speaker 3 (07:45):
We'll see Maybe he might have a team right now
setting up some TikTok strategies. Maybe he's doing dances on TikTok.
That's what is going to be the new iteration of
it all.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
It's hard, I think, once you have these controversies surrounding you,
it's difficult. But you know, maybe I'll throw my hat
into the ring for you. Qualifications do you need zero?
It seems like I run on one platform, and that
is that people who park like idiots should get a
ticket and we should have painted no hear me out,
you're laughing. I'm being serious. There should be painted lines

(08:15):
on the every street so where you parallel park, if
you're over the line, you get a ticket.

Speaker 2 (08:19):
Wow, I would why are yeah?

Speaker 1 (08:21):
Thank you? I would win right yeah, Oh my gosh.
On a personal level, let's see, I mean you were
at the brit Awards, which was fancy. I was trying
to figure out the source of that smell in my basement,
which I did talk about with Danielle DeLillo on the
previous or two pods go and I had a chimney
sweep come and the answer is that my chimney was rotting.

(08:44):
So twenty five hundred dollars later, we're hoping it fixes
the problem. Although he did say and shout out to
al the chimney sweep, he was great. He said that
what a name out the chimney sweep. He was so nice.

Speaker 2 (08:56):
It sounds like a chimney sweep name.

Speaker 1 (08:58):
He was like, oh, this poor girl has no idea
what she's doing with his house stuff. But he was
really helpful. It was basically disintegrated, so I had to
spend a pretty penny. But he did tell me. He's like,
I really would feel more comfortable if you put a
CEO tool alarm right here. I have them all over
the house, but he's like, I want one right here.
And he made a bunch of other suggestions. So hopefully

(09:19):
we're like at least a little bit safer. That is
the hope.

Speaker 2 (09:23):
That is the hope thing has crossed for you with.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
Yeah, I know that's all we can ever hope for
in life. But life bites but or it could just
be bites of fun. Like that's why I spelled it
the way I did. We have fun here, Max. I'm
sorry I kind of kidnapped you.

Speaker 2 (09:39):
Into the podcast. All right, No, it's good. I'm gonna
eat my sushi.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
Okay, enjoy your lunch. Everyone else can check out Maxwell
on Instagram TikTok.

Speaker 2 (09:47):
In Maxwell's house. Yeah, that's where you can find.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
It and I'm Wendy Wild Radio. Until next time. This
is life Bites.
