(00:13):
Hey, everybody, Welcome to Lifeand Lyrics with Missy and Leila. Oh
my goodness. Okay, so thisis a brand new podcast. We are
so excited, so excited, soexcited, and okay, just to tell
you guys, we're going to begoing to the Nickelback documentary tonight and we
are going to be coming back andtelling you guys all about that. So

(00:33):
we're going to talk about that beforehand. We're going to talk about it afterwards.
But we thought we'd kick things offbecause our title is Life and Lyrics.
Absolutely famous misheard lyrics. Now,there are so many. When we
started going through this, we startedrealizing that there are way more than we
ever thought. Yes, but Ialso discovered that there are some brand new

(00:57):
ones that I've been singing it wrongthough whole time. And I was today
years old when I found out thatI was wrong. You know, I've
been there, so so so let'sstart with you tell me some of your
favorite misheard lyrics. All right,Well, guys, I've got to be
on our blind light the lights thenight. All right, I'm sorry,

(01:23):
I gotta get good. It's good. I always sang rabbed up, wrapped
up like a douche another Roller inthe Night when the lyrics actually are rapped
up like a deuce. Another runnerin the Night, no douche involved,
right, But but how long didyou go thinking that? I mean,
you're yeah, like something like that. Okay, don't know how old the

(01:48):
song is. I think it's atleast thirty or forty years old, as
long as I've heard this song, maybe even older. It's as long as
it's been since I heard the song. And so people at home, you
are not alone. We have heardthese lyrics incorrectly along with you. Now.
So when we looked up, we'rekind of ridiculous. And I was
like, do people really think thatthat's what it because it seems obvious to
me me too. But okay, but you know, forgive me for kicking

(02:10):
off the whole thing, but youknow, no, it was funny.
That's funny anyway. The number oneon some sites that I found, the
number one song, which I thoughtwas interesting, is Dancing Queen, and
it is feel the Beat of theTangerine. But but yeah, so it's

(02:37):
Dancing Queen, feel the beat ofthe Tangerine. I've never heard it that
way, but it's actually feel thebeat of the tambourine. If you didn't
know, that's what it really is. There is, but there are no
hold on. I found another onetoday from Dancing Queen. I thought yes,
and I thought that I had itready, and I don't. So
that's okay, So pull up anotherone and then I will give you this,
okay, because it was funny. You guys all know Rim is losing

(02:59):
my really right, Okay, Sothis wil just made me goiogle because I've
never heard it this way, butnow I'm gonna start singing it this way.
You know. It's that's me inthe corner, that's me in the
spotlight. That's me in the corner, that's me in the spot live my

(03:21):
religion. Okay. Well this onesays, let's pee in the corner,
Let's pee in the spotlight, andI just I think that's more fun.
So I think I'm gonna start singingit that way, and I think you
all should do. I know thatI will. Right. I'm not seeing
the ones that I found, butI'll look them up late, all right.
Okay, the next one to thisone's California on a desert. That

(03:45):
way cool and in my hair. That's one of my favorite albums of all
time on a dark desert highway, cool Whip in my hair, Cool Whip
in my hair. Yes, yes, we've all been there. There have
been many a cool whip back inmy lifetime. I'm gonna saying cool whip
when you go in a dark deserthighway so silly. But you're never going

(04:09):
to be able to sing it theright way again. I know. I
will forever sing colip in my hair. Yes. Now. Now, there
there are some too that, likeI just found out recently. I think
maybe last year or the year beforeI realized that Toto's Africa. I have
been singing it wrong that my wholelife. But I just got validation today
that somebody else heard the lyrics exactsame way I heard him, which is,

(04:32):
there's nothing that one hundred men onMars could ever do. Okay,
I could hear that, but youknow no. But it's just more,
well, are there a hundred menon Mars? I mean, are there
any I don't know anyone, youknow what, I don't know. I've
not been there. There's anyone onMars. But but every time it comes

(04:55):
to that part in the song,my husband would crank it up loud he's
like, all right, it's yourturn, and I just and I blur,
hunter mental mars. That's what itis. I will probably sing it
that way from here, all right. Next one for me would be the
police. Okay, message in abrothel, message in a bar, message

(05:18):
in a brothel, Okay, allright? Yes, and I mean I
could hear that. I could hearit for sure. Okay. Yeah.
Now this this next one is onethat I was singing wrong the whole time,
and then I had to fill mykids in on it that it was
wrong the whole time. I'm ahuge stuff Leopard fan, been a huge
fan since like I was five, six years old. Whatever it was,

(05:41):
I had no idea this whole time. I was seeing it wrong. But
it's and you got the peaches,I got the creams, sweet potatoes,
sack of weed, say, Ithought it was sack of weed. I
met my jack it is okay it, Yes, you got it right.
But I always said saka weed.I thought it was saccerine. And I

(06:04):
don't even know why. It's sucha young age. I don't think I
realized what it was, but Ialways thought it was always heard that they
pronounced sacharine saccharine. Yeah, it'svery odd, but that's how I always
say. So now I'm going tosay saka weed because it's more fun it
is. You're gonna have to Soeverybody else is going to say stressing sakawed
soack because it's way cooler. Youknow, I think, Joe, get

(06:24):
on it. Let's just change thoselyrics, all right. This one is
personal and close to my heart toone of my best friends that passed away
a couple of years ago. Godrest your soul. Candice Madonna's dressed you
up instead of singing dress you upin my love for years up until the
day she died two years ago,it was dressed you up in Lilah.

(06:46):
So I've always saying it that way. I hope you all do too,
dress you up in Lilah. Andit sounds like I mean, looking at
her, guys, you wouldn't minddressing yourself up in Lilah. This is
beautiful. Oh my goodness, that'syou. Okay, Now, now everybody
knows I love love, love lovemy bon Jovi. Yeah, I've never
heard this one incorrectly, but thisone too made me giggle, and it's

(07:10):
living on the prayers. It doesn'tmake a difference if we're naked or not.
And I just thought that was stillbecause really it does make a difference
if you're naked. It sounds reallydone. But Jermaine Stewart, but clue
in, Cluan, you're not apiece of stimulate my brain. Help me

(07:34):
out. You don't have to takeyour clothes thank you. It's my blond
videographer rescue. Yes, thank youvideographer for that. Yes, we don't
have to take your clothes up.It's the same thing. Yeah. But
but I just following like a weirdthing. We are we are heard.
I just I thought that was funbecause I've been a fan for so long

(07:55):
and I've always said that, andI've never heard it that way, And
now I wonder if I'm gonna starthearing it that way now probably you will,
but you will. But bon Jovion okay if you guys don't know
this, on his album Destination Anywhere, it was one of his solo projects,
he has a song on They're calledNaked, and he says you can't
fake it when you're naked. Damnedif true? That is right, Like

(08:18):
I love that. So that's usedto say it's like how you look in
your clothes, but it's not true. It's how you look when you're not.
Yeah, exactly. Well, okay, okay, that brings me to
the life part of life and lyrics. Right when I was little, I
used to see all of these girlsjust all this makeup and hair and just
everything and put on girdles under theirclothes and all these weird things. And

(08:41):
I always thought to myself, isn'tthat an illusion? And what's gonna happen
when the guy wakes up in themorning and doesn't see you with all of
that stuff? That's tucking and sucking? What happened? And Tom Petty,
that's a fact. Oh my god. But you know what though, I

(09:01):
embrace it. I embrace the TomPetty look when I have no makeup on.
Maybe I'll come on the podcast, but like, you know, you
how the spackle and you'll people,no, no, you're not. I
don't see you with all the It'snot like I'm gonna get you sucka that
movie where she pops her leg offand pulls off her wig and she pops

(09:22):
off her fake booty and she's like, don't make me hop after you,
because it was the funniest Okay,it was the same thing, but I
feel like that when I washed mymakeup of fun facts. You know,
you know that a Dolly Parton goesto bed with her makeup on every night
because she doesn't want to have anunexpected anything happen and be found without her

(09:43):
makeup on. So in the morning, when she wakes up and like ghost
is clear, she'll wash it alloff and then redo it. Fun fun
fact. Also, I used todo that because I was in the north
Ridge quake and I was lucky enoughto already be ready to go to work,
and I was all put together, and I thought I might just go
to sleep with my makeup on,so if something bad happens, I don't
wake up looking like a foot.So I did that for a very long

(10:07):
time. Now it's like fifty tofifty if I'm lazy or not. If
you guys see me on camera, that is the only time I typically have
makeup on. I hate it,you know, I hate making up.
To me, It's just a painin the But I don't know how to
do it. It takes too muchtime. I could be just doing other
things, okay, like my job. Well, no, you don't need
makeup though, you know you're gorgeous. Okay, can we can we talk

(10:28):
about the monkeys one real fast?Okay, go ahead, go okay,
you guys, this this just mademe laugh so hard. The Monkeys.
I'm a believer. Then I sawher face and I'm going to leave her.
Oh then I saw her face withthe makeup on. It just was

(10:56):
the perfect segue. You know, you know you just got on to or
It was perfect. That was perfect. It was I just was like,
okay, you know, I haveto go to that song next. I'm
like Jacqueline Hyde. It's like right, very different, all right, all
right, so all right, I'vegot on here. Purple Haze. You

(11:18):
know, Jimmy Hendrix is fantastic. You know, excuse me while I kiss
the sky misheard lyric. Excuse mewhile I kiss the sky. Excuse me,
guy guy. So you know, okay, I mean I could see
it being played at several different typesof weddings now, lots of clubs,
lots of clubs, you know.Whatever floats about. I mean, I

(11:41):
think I think that's just a workingthough. It works. It works either
way. I think that song workseither way. And what's fun fun too
about that is people are always doingparodies anyway, right right, And I
feel like, with that one lyricthat's been misheard, let's turn that whole
song into a parody. That wouldbe fun. I think we could do
that. I think we I thinkwe should do that. We should do

(12:01):
that. We might even do karaokewith Missy and Leila one day, miss
drunk. That would be entertaining.Oh dear, they would that would be
would Oh it would be so fun, it would it would be so fun.
We'll do the misheard lyrics with karaokewith Missy and oh could we do
it as like a Saint Patrick's Dayshow next year, so we have time
or like or like New Year's Eveor something, we do it, Like,

(12:22):
why don't we do it this year? But we already had Saint Patrick?
Yeah, we have to do itas a drunk show because I can't.
I will not feel comfortable enough. But if if I have enough alcohol
in me, and trust me,guys, it takes like two drinks,
we'll plant it. Yeah, twodrinks, two drinks, and we'll grab
a mic and try to sing.Yeah, because any more than that I'd
be asleep. So I have tohit the two and then it can sing

(12:43):
and we think I can sing.Yes, I can bowl better too.
All right, I'm a gray bowlers. I'm the best bowler and I can
sing. Now I can bowl thewee like nobody's. Oh no, I'm
a fantastic bowler when I'm drinking.Okay, we do a balling show next,
and I won't drop the ball inyour foot. Okay, my gosh.

(13:03):
Okay. So this one I alsogot a kick out of, because
you know, it's we didn't startthe fire by Billy Joel. It was
always burning said the worst attorney.Had many of those? Okay, all

(13:26):
right, I'm like, I've hadsome. I've had some pretty bad attorneys
before, but no one has evertold me that. But no, I
just that one made me giggle alot. I don't know why because of
the attorneys this was so funny.I think it's because I think it's because
they put the worst attorney, youknow, because there's so many attorney jokes
out there, and you know, there really are good ones out there,

(13:48):
like Matthew Cadwell. I love Matthewsaying let's kill all the lawyers kill him
tonight, and that's the same inEagles that then that song help me out
over there, mister music man behindthe eagles. It's oh my gosh,
I know we were just talking aboutto come back to that. We will.
I'm not saying to kill the lawyerssaying that. No, that's what

(14:11):
they say in the song. It'sfunny. I mean, lawyers have always
gotten a bad rap, because thereare some not so good ones, but
there are some str crazy. Ihate this. When my brain does this,
it like stops. It's all right, it just stops. It passes
life my brain. I've got thespinning wheel of death in my brain right
now. So we'll come back tothat. Okay, all right, all
right. This is my own personalchildhood lyric that I have misheard my entire

(14:35):
life. All right. It wasuh walking in a winter wonderland, and
I always thought it was later on, will perspire as we dream by the
fire, We'll conspire by the firewhen the actual lyric is conspire. But

(15:00):
I thought it made more sense thatyou'd be sweating we were sitting by the
fire. And I still think, actually it makes more sense than conspiring by
a fire. I think that youperspire by the fire, you do.
I'm staying with it absolutely. Ithink now when Christmas is doing around.
You're gonna sing songs like Mala doesI get We're going to sing perspire from
now and I promise it's going tobe perspired. It was get over it.

(15:22):
That was it. That was thatwas the song. And yeah,
I said, let's kill all thelawyers kill him tonight, and I always
maybe kind of laugh, kill alone, kill n ye, I mean her
little fingers and everybody something. I'mgoing back to now again. One of
the most popular summer songs is BrianAdams Summer of sixty nine, right favorite

(15:43):
songs ever. Such a great song. I've never heard it this way,
but I gotta tell you again now. I'm I'm never going to hear it
a different way. This one.I laughed so hard and you guys were
like, what are you laughing at? I was like, oh my gosh,
I got my first real sex dream. I've got my first will six
string is the lyrics that somebody misheard. Now, next time we do this,

(16:07):
we're going to share some of thestories from the fans on what this
song misheard lyrics meant to them orwhat they did with it. One that
I read was they had a foreignexchange student and they taught them the misheard
lyrics, and so every time theywent to a party, this foreign exchange
student it was a nickelback song.Actually it was been down to the bottom

(16:33):
of Harry Potter every bottle instead ofevery bottle. And so this poor foreign
exchange student then went on too allthese parties, singing it the wrong way
because his host family told him itwas correct. And I just so when
I read that story, I waslike, oh, if I would have

(16:55):
had more time, I would havereally dug deep into some of these worries,
because when you look on the internet, these are funny stories that we
were laughing. It was crazy.Okay, go go back, go back
to yours. And I'm going soI have two more, okay, and
one of them is another Candace story. God Rest your soul. And and
I thought for a very long timethe Aerosmith's song Sweet Emotion was Meat and

(17:19):
Motion. We're going there again,And I apologize, but I don't know.
These songs make it so easy.Yeah, it's like you. It's

(17:41):
not even intentional, it's just likewhat other people sing, and then it
just gets stuck in your head.So now every time I hear that song,
it's meat and Motion. It's notsweet emotion. And then you turn
it into a parody and you dothe full lyrics and you submit it for
a specific type of movie. Karaoke. Yeah, okay, wait, wait
karaoke. I have a friend Chris. I am throwing you under the bus

(18:03):
right now. My friend Chris fromhigh school. We used to go to
this Mexican restaurant. We do karaokeand they I'm not going to name the
restaurant because they used to serve allof us some alcohol before we were twenty
one. Yeah, I'm not gonnawrap them out. But hit me with
your best shot, Pat Benatar.Yeah, I don't ever sing it the

(18:26):
right way ever since I was nineteen. It's hit me with your wet spot
shot. That's how we apologize.I don't know what come over is today.
Okay, this was not the themeof the show. It wasn't supposed
to be. It happens. Theseare common misheard lyrics because of where people's
minds are. I think, Idon't know, Okay, do you think

(18:48):
it should? Should? I throwa country one in there? I know
I've done mostly wrong, Okay, know a few things. A man out
of no Landy Wilson It's how toChase a Rabbit down the driveway is what
a lot of people thought she wassinging, And it's how to chase forever
down a driveway chase. And Igot to hear her doing like a little

(19:11):
interview. I think it might havebeen on like Big d and Bubber or
something and that wing, but shewas just giggling and laughing about the rabbit
down the driveway and it was sofunny. But then when you when they
played the song, it fits. You know, it sounds like it.
You know, if it sounds likean insert word here, that's what I
do exactly. So you guys athome, you're gonna have to start listening

(19:33):
to all of these and like, really do it with the lyrics that we've
given you, and let us knowif if you hear it now or not.
Yeah, because some of the yeah, let us know if you hear
what we're saying. Because sometimes Ithink I'm just blonde and loopy, and
then sometimes I'm like, no,it sounds like this exactly well. And
then going through the list, we'renot listening to it. We're just reading
the lyrics on the page, youknow, finding all of these things.

(19:55):
So some of them are just funny, but some of them actually sound like
and then some of them have actuallydone yeah. No, And I'm saying
some of the same lyrics the sameway for years, like my entire life,
like you know, Duran. Duranis hard enough to follow as it
is. Yes, the lyrics makeno sense, so I make up as
I go along the entire time.Benny and the Jets is another. Oh
my gosh, that the movie twentyseven dress. Yeah, the way they

(20:18):
say it was perfect. Hey yougot a lemon no no, no,
no, electric boobs yeah, electricboobs, electric boos and mohair suit.
Oh yeah yeah. And that's whatI hear now, electric boobs. Yeah.
And you can't you hear it thewrong way and it's that funny like
I never hear it. No,but it's my best my favorite way.
You're hearing it now now. Idiscovered one today that I've been singing wrong

(20:41):
the whole time, and I don'tI don't want to be wrong like I
want to be right. I thinkmy way fits all right, what is
it? It's it's nickelback, okay, and as the song figured you out,
okay, and it's I like thewhite stains on your dress, I
like the worst. It's a dressclinton. Yeah, but those lyrics fit

(21:07):
the song, and that's how Ialways sang it. I had no idea
until right before this show that it'sactually I like the wine stains on your
dress. But I was never awine drinker either, so I just it
just you just like the white stains. Ooh ooh, that didn't come out
right. Didn't drink wine. Ididn't drink wine. But the other one

(21:30):
fit. Oh, dear Missy, just Missy just put herself in the home
please. Okay, all right,so we're gonna go back to Christmas.
We're gonna try to purify this event, Okay, but my last one here,
and I'll try to come up withsome more if we're gonna keep going.
It's from my daughter Asia, wholoves There's no place like Home for

(21:52):
the holidays, and from it withthe lyric was from Atlantic to Pacific,
G the traffic is terrific, Butshe's singing from Atlantic to Pacific ge the
traffic is horrific. From Atlantic toPacific, GE the traffic is terrific.
I mean lately now and yeah, you know, and we lived in California,

(22:15):
lived in Arizona, and we considertraffic terrific a lot. She she
got that gift from me, Ithink where it's like why, like what
are you doing? You know, and the traffic is typically horrific. Really
are you seeing that now? Thanksto my daughter. So there was a
movie with Sylvester Stilone and I can'tremember the name of it right now,

(22:38):
but there was this girl saying, and I'm leaving today, I'm sick of
all your ship New York, NewYork, all your shit yay, like

(23:00):
the way she sang it, okay, it was just so funny. And
so whenever I hear that song,I sing it the way she sang it
in that movie, and it wasjust a great thing. But I know
everybody at home does that too.Tommy does it all the time, Like
I just make him up. Youjust you just make him up and then
it's funny and it just fits andyou just sing it. And then when
you have people in the car thathave never heard you do that, though,
their reactions can be priceless. Ohmy daughters all when when their dad

(23:26):
was around, and God rest hissoul, and the kids would sing this
Glenn Madero song that he used toplay in the car, and it was
nothing's going to change my love foryou. You ought to know by now
how much I love you. Hedidn't understand those lyrics, and so he's
saying, yeah, nothing's going tochange my love for you, Dad,
and he's like, what are theysaying. It's like yeah bada, and

(23:47):
I'm like no, it's you oughtto know by now how much I love
you. And so the kids stillsing it like yahbada. It's one of
those things where I still hear itin my head because that's the way that

(24:07):
they depicted the song when they werelittle. So we still see it like
I love Yeah, I see.But but so share your family memories with
you know, with us, yourmoments and your musical mishap, you know,
stories, lyrics every Vince Neil songknown to man. Oh yes,
you can just google that and it'llcome up and you if you have some
time to spare, if you arefeeling sad or blue one day, you

(24:30):
just google that it smile. It'llmake you smile. It's it's what people
come up with, isster mishd lyricsor epic yeah one yeah, and you
ever needed to no, no,no no. However, the misheard lyrics
are well epic because with Vince Neil, people got really creative. And it's
not just stories submitted in text, like people put text to videos. So

(24:56):
you see his mouth moving and you'rereading this X yes, and it's hysterical,
it really is. I mean,it's just funny. And you gotta
you gotta laugh with the situation.I laugh at myself. I thought it
myself every day, you know,so you know, people know I laugh,
You'll cry. It's fine. Butokay, So you and I we
are getting ready right now. Wehave a date. We are going to

(25:18):
go see the Nickelback documentary. It'scalled Hate to Love Nickelback? Are you
a fan or liar? I do? It's all right, it's because I'm
crazy. I need to get crazynow. My my family and I have
talked about this and sometimes at nauseum, right, like, why does everybody
claim to hate Nickelback? The industrylike planned it. I swear, just

(25:41):
like the death of disco and thedeath of confidence rock. I swear because
they are talented. They are soand I'm so talented. But I feel
like Nickelback was like Cancel culture beforecancel culture had a name, right,
right, And how many memes areout there, and how many there's this
one don't get it. I don'teither. There's this friend of mine an't
Facebook. I'm just gonna call himalm Joy because that's a nickname. I

(26:03):
don't want to like rat his wholename out. But he's a friend of
mine on Facebook. And sometimes youfeel like a net and sometimes you don't.
That's not hard. But if Itell you why, it'll it'll give
it away. I'll tell you after. But no, so he constantly like
he'll pose things and be like Ihate Nickelback or you know, there'll be

(26:26):
some funny conversation and it's always aslong as it's not Nickelback, and like
just all the time, like andspecifically on my page. He would do
this a lot and like make somederogatory comment about Nickelback, and of course
he knew. I was just like, why, you know, stop,
They're great, They're wonderful. Whatdo you have against them? Right?
You know? So my personal feeling, and you can tell me what yours
is. My personal feeling is thatmy husband and I talk about this all

(26:48):
the time. Is it? Theyare so talented but they were so unique
and they found their own way andthey were getting radio play and they were
doing their thing and they were sellingout shows, and I think people just
in my opinion, got jealous.Maybe the bands that they were following or
that they were loving weren't getting theradio play, weren't getting the attention.

(27:12):
I don't know, but I don'tfeel like Nickelback did anything wrong. They
found their own paths, they tookit and they're great and they're still selling
out shows. So phenomenal, absolutely, and I just their music is catchy,

(27:32):
their their shows. If you've neverbeen to a Nickelback sho you haven't
been, No, Okay, we'llgo to them and they'll go on another
day. So they were here inNashville on August first, and boy did
they bring out like all these surprisespecial guests. They brought out Hardy,
they brought out Jason al Dean andErnest and Bailey Zimmerman and I mean they

(27:56):
just they brought out and then theystarted heasing a concert tour between Nickelback,
Hardy and Brantley Gilbert because Brantley Gilbertwas there as well, Okay, and
so man, Nashville just they litthat city on fire like it was absolutely
insane. It was such a greatshow. But one of the things I've
always noticed about Chad and Ryan andDaniel and they just they have a good

(28:22):
time and they interact with their audienceand they just want to have fun and
performance. That's the way it shouldbe done. Yeah, I mean,
they're out there doing what they love. It's like getting paid to live your
teams. So go and have agood time. And I've never seen a
bad show. And I've seen aton of shows, and I've seen a
ton of shows from other artists, and you can tell when they're in a

(28:44):
bad mood and you know things havehappened. And I have never seen anything
get to the guys in Nickelback.I have never seen them get mad if
their sound is off or what I'vejust They've always been so much fun and
I've never seen one fan leave unhappy. I want I believe you. I
believe you. I've been to manyshows like that with certain bands, and

(29:07):
I want to go to a Nickelbackshow now. So okay, you sold
me on that. So let's gosee this documentary because we have tickets and
we have to be there at acertain time and then we'll come back and
we'll wrap it up, and youtell me what you think about the documentary
and if you have if you havelike a new perspective on them and who
they are, and if they don'tknow much honestly. So I'm looking forward

(29:29):
to learning more about Nickelback. Butevery song that I've ever heard, I've
liked, So you know, Iconsider myself a fan, but not like
a fan. Do you know whatthe first song? Do you remember the
first song you heard of theirs? No? Okay, mine was this is
How You Remind Me? But thatis but I didn't hear that one nearly

(29:52):
as much as I heard Photograph. And so when I heard Photograph, I
was like, okay, who arethese? Are these people? And then
you know, everybody who knows meknows that I am a huge bon Jovie
fan. So I went to Ifollowed a bon Jovi tour one year.
It was during their Have a NiceDay tour and they were doing what's called
have a Nice gig where they theywould give people a chance to open the

(30:15):
show. And for these particular showsthat I went to was in Philadelphia,
Nickelback opened for them. Oh andso and I'm my very first time that
would be an epic show. Yeah, it was that. I went home
and I was like, you know, I had already known a couple of
their songs that they ever been interrible. Oh dear, I'm a music

(30:36):
fan. We got some work todo. So many shows, I mean,
why Snake, Queen's Rag, Devil, Leopard, you know, you
name it. I've been in thein the eighties and nineties. I went
to a ton of shows, butnever went to bon Jovi, never signed
to her people, I know.Okay, okay, all right, well
don't go anywhere, because we're goingto come back with our review of the

(30:56):
documentary and Lyla's impressions. Yes,today, all right, Lyla and I
are getting ready to watch this Nickelbackdocumentary. And look, look, look
who are kicking it? And yetlook there's a trailer here for food.

(31:18):
This is amazing. I'm sorry, watady to watch? Ready to eat?
I'm definitely ready to And we're backthe documentary Hate to Love Nickelback. How'd
you like it? I didn't likeit, and I loved it, loved
it right, it was the best. It was so good and you got

(31:38):
to see, well, for me, I got to see a different side
of some of the guys than whatI've seen personally, because I I am
fortunate enough that I've been able totalk to each of them briefly, but
getting to know them through the documentarywhere they don't have the high. I'm
Chad Koger from Nickelback, Like, this is the high and this is the

(32:00):
human side of the vulnerable side.Yeah, this isn't the rockstar you know,
twenty four to seven sides and theyno one can put that on twenty
four So no, not at all. But this documentary, man, it
was so good. It was sogood. And the seeing the family dynamic
and emotion and the just the theEpps and the downs and the highs and

(32:23):
the lows and what happened to themin the industry. It was really moving,
actually absolutely and in the spirit oftheir song animals, we decided to
bring the animals up here onto theyou know, couch. I am also
the pie piper, and I amthe dinner bill of the house, and
the animals follow me. Yes,they do. They love you, they
hang out, they love you too, so we love them. But seriously,

(32:45):
so what we were talking about beforewas the whole social media Yeah,
okay, but the social media likecancel culture, and they they really did
touch on exactly what we were talkingabout, what I was feeling like.
It was really only more in depthlike it. It was such a good

(33:06):
explanation as to like what every trueNickelback fan has felt from those outside haters
that are like, none of itmade sense. None of it made sense
from the very beginning. So muchtalent and so much success, and then
the only thing I can say aboutit, my opinion is it was like
an inside job. It's had somethingto do with the industry why they shut

(33:28):
them down, because the fans aretrue. Yep, they make great music,
they bring it every show. Imean, I'm even more of a
fan than I was before, andI always loved Nickelback. So I'm like,
I just don't get the hate.I don't get it well, and
that's why I love that. Youknow he was talking about, well,
I don't have to answer to thehaters. I'm playing my shows for the

(33:51):
people that are there, right andthose shows are selling out thousands and thousands
and thousands of people, like everyshow. And then they just did Rodeo
Houston. Did you did you knowthat they were in Rodeo Houston and they're
playing Stagecoach Festival. No, yeah, but now I'm on a mission.
I'm going to go I know, back life because they were, they were,
they were, they were mausy nowand for those who were watching this

(34:13):
documentary too, because I know it'sit was tonight and then again on the
thirty first, it select theaters mightbe going back. Like the lady that
we met in the women's restroom.Yeah, right before I did a military
crawl under the bathroom stall because therewas only two saws open and somebody had
two p Yeah, there was alot of women. We all need to
go to the bathroom. Nobody's goingin and out of this one bathroom and
we're like, is there anybody? And there we try opening the door.

(34:34):
There's nobody's making us sound. Thedoors locked and this one's not. I'm
going under. Not my proudest moment. Had to pee So was that for
the sake I was going to dolike a bridesmaid's moment only with p But
no, it was not my proudestmoment. I will be you, but
you know what you curifying myself withfire Lad and all those women and the
rest of the line. They wereall happy that they were grateful I know

(34:55):
they made made the line move alot for the team I did, you
know, went back to my highschool roots. You know, absolutely,
I'm gonna do it. When yougot to go, man, there ain't
nothing stopping it. You gotta go. So cool. I didn't want to
get up during the movie. Thatwas the thing, Like like you,
you couldn't you. It was socaptivating you didn't want to get up and

(35:19):
miss any part of it. Welearned so much information about Ryan and and
Daniel I had. I mean,I knew Daniel wasn't the original drummer because
I have followed the band for solong and okay, you know had done
so I knew that that Daniel wasn'tthe original drummer, but I did not
know Daniel had. I mean,it looked like he had four kids there

(35:40):
his darling, gorgeous family. Gorgeeveryone of my family, their families were
beautiful. Chad looks lonely and youknow what, it sounds like he makes
some good spaghetti hashtag we need Chadspaghetti. Chad stats. Yes, I
want to chat make spaghetti for usfor sure. For sure, I wouldn't
mind playing him in a game ofpool. Yeah, you know, I

(36:02):
listen. I think we could.I think we could do just as well
as all of those guys. DidI play pool like a bowl and sing
karaoke, Well, then you're goingto be better than I will. But
we should. We should all dothat. That would be fun. But
but no, seriously, this thisdocumentary was very very touching, very real,
emotional. I don't know how elseto say. There were some things

(36:24):
that you learned that we can't giveit away obviously, but no, and
then hopefully people will go out andwatch it because yeah, it's just real.
It was, it felt real andand I don't know if this is
a new thing that that is becominglike a trend with the documentaries or not.
Anjovi has one coming out called thankYou good Night, and yeah,

(36:45):
I'll be going to see that one. Yes, I'm not sure if that
one's actually coming out like in atheater setting or if it's going to be
I think it's an Amazon Prime thing. Honestly, I think it's it's coming
out I think in April. Okay, so next month. But these these
new music documentaries, I hope theyjust keep coming. I mean, I
know Garth Brooks had done one ofstuff that was a good one. The

(37:06):
Eagles had done more. They areso informative. So for the fans that
love the music but don't really knowa lot about the story, the history
and yeah and all of that,I think people don't realize what they go
through for their journey. They justsee what the presence is on stage and
think, oh my gosh, there'sthis superstar, but don't see the human
side, the human side that isbroken, that has the ups and downs,

(37:30):
the you know, the extreme heighsand lows, and so I feel
like people don't understand that. Yeah, I feel like the music artists and
same probably with actors and those thatare in the in the spotlight of any
kind life, I feel is wayharder for them, and fans want to
immediately put on there that you know, well, they have money and they

(37:51):
can buy this, and they they'relucky, and it's it's not like that.
It's not a glamorous life. Andyou have you have people coming at
you from all different sides. They'reall wanting something from you, some of
it positive, some of it not. And I can't imagine living my life
under a microscope. And I feellike a lot of these artists are doing

(38:14):
that, and I will say Idon't like throwing names out there. There
is one artist in particular that theyI'll just say this. They showed this
artist in the documentary, and thisartist of a well known I'm gonna say
nineties band right because it was anineties bandy. This well known artist has

(38:34):
has just I'm just gonna say,he's been an asshole for years yea.
And I just cannot stand this personfrom a fan perspective and from the media
perspective. When I see another artisttearing another artist down, I don't care.
I'm not a fan of that.I am not a fan. They're
all hard working, they'll have theirjourney and just the sound. People need

(38:59):
to respect music in the art andbe kind. Yes, you don't have
to be a hater. You don'thave to be a hater. And I'm
sorry that I had to say whatI said, but I did because it
wasn't cool. And that person justpainted themselves with their own brush a big,
big red letter a for ale.Yeah. Now, and then there

(39:20):
were some fun surprises in this documentarytoo, with some fun celebrities, and
we don't want to give it away. We can't give it away, Okay,
there's okay, but you guys aregoing to know immediately when you hear
this person's voice. It's a veryunmistakable voice. Absolutely, and then there's
a really awesome moment with a verychildhood actor. We can say that,

(39:45):
right, that was funny. I'mgonna make you wonder about that was what
I hadn't seen in a while.Yeah, a long time, right,
And I think I might have beenon the precipice of teens for me because
I'm like much older than you are, much older. But I do remember
this particular actor. Yeah, andI was like, yeah, yeah,

(40:06):
but it was funny. It wasno. At first, I was kind
of annoyed and I was like, wait a minute, what are they doing?
And then it was like it wasthis smooth Okay, I got it.
I figured it out. But ittakes Missy allow to figure things out.
It doesn't. It doesn't throw everyjoke the floor just because he looks
old. Yeah, you had tofast forward, But was that not?
Was that not cool? How theydid that? I thought I was pretty

(40:27):
that was you guys, If youhaven't seen this documentary, I see it.
You need to see it. Somehow. I don't know if you think
the band will make it available liketo buy. They have to. I
would think that they would. Ithink it would be foolish not too.
They need to because all of thepeople who were at the Nashville show on
August and missus in it. Imissed it. I was looking down to
grab it. It was like asplit second and I didn't see yeah my

(40:52):
arm when I said, there Iam, and then I was gone.
I missed it. So next timeI go, which I will be going,
oh yeah, I will be lookingfor Missy's army. Yes, well,
we could go again Saturday. Youknow, I think there's like two
shows on Saturday. We're going. It was that good, and then it
was they had bonus footage with thethree live songs. Yeah, and that
was amazing. They were No,they're phenomenal. It was good and I

(41:14):
believe that there is going to bewell, I know when you get when
you get there, they had aQR code for merchandise. Merch Oh great
seventies looking stuff. Oh yeah,my gosh, like seventies vands with palm
trees. Yes, in my totalvibe, I love fantastic and this is
I'm going to be one of thethat's adorable. But I love this.

(41:35):
And then but I'm going to bedoing that whole striped switch. I want
that so bad. It's like,I think it's one hundred and fifty for
both the sweatshirt and the pants. But they're great going online, they're great.
I know the time they see we'regoing to be a birthday yesterday,
So yeah, you know, didI? Yeah? It did hot birthday
and Tonight's Tonight's documentary was part ofmy birthday present. And then okay,

(41:57):
wait, you guys, this isno no, no, no, it
looks so much bigger. Isn't thatalways the story? It looks bigger?
And then when you actually get it, but she needed a cassette. Okay,
you guys, Okay, where's it? Is it? This? Okay?
Look look I have all my originalBanjovi cassettes. And did you know

(42:20):
the cassettes are making a comeback.I keep talking about it. So cassettes
are making a comeback. And ifyou go on Amazon, you can find
yourself a little boom box like this. But I get out. Okay,
there's a spot for an SD cardright here. It's also bluetooth and I
can plug my phone right into itand there's old and I'm sorry, but
like this, this is so muchlighter. It's so much lighter. I

(42:45):
love it. It's so cute.Thank you, thank you, thank you.
But the yellow for for yes, because you know we love that.
But but everybody at home, ifyou have not watched the documentary and you
have an option opportunity to watch it, you have to watch this Nickelback documentary.

(43:06):
It's called Hate to Love Nickelback. It's fantastic. It's it's really it
was so well done. It wasit ended so fast. It was like
you, I know, and therewere there were a couple of times I
thought they were going to end itbecause like and if they would have,
I would have cried. I wasI needed more closure, I need more
information. Did they kind of psychyou out like they did it over?

(43:28):
Yeah, and then all of asudden they come back and you're like,
Okay, thank god, such abeautifully done documentary film. I loved it.
I cannot recommend it enough. It'sfantastic. And of course, you
guys keep those misunderstood lyrics in yourin your remember remember the disgusting lyrics that
we came up with, and andyou know, just keep singing them the

(43:50):
way that you want because it makeslife more fun and more interesting and singing.
Yeah, there's some that I'm justnot changing. I'm sorry. I
like the white stains on the dress. You know what. I like to
eat in motion. Until next time, everybody, thanks for watching Life and
Lyrics with Missy and Lila. We'llsee you soon. Bye,
