Speaker 1 (00:12):
Hey, y'all. Y'all, Hey, y'all, it's been a minute. It
it's been way too long, but welcome back. Welcome back
to the life of Alex and it's your girl, Lex.
How y'all doing, y'all doing good? You ate today. I've
just had a cup of coffee and that's it, but
(00:33):
you know, that's life. I also had to adult this morning, y'all.
I just had a birthday, y'all. I am twenty seven.
That is crazy to me, Mike. I had to, you know,
set intentions for my birthday and decide, you know, twenty
(00:55):
seven is a year I wanna look back at and say,
you know, I put my boots on the ground. I
worked hard, I started my career or developed my career
and whatever it is. And I just enjoyed life like
I grew up and accepted being an adult because y'all,
(01:21):
adulthood is ghetto. I don't know if y'all know that,
but it's ghetto. But you know, I made it this far.
Thank God. I'm like, Lord, thank you for letting me
see twenty seven years. Twenty seven years. It's been long,
but we're here, all right, and we still got a
(01:45):
long ways to go. And I woke up this morning
and I said, I don't have anything to do because
I had a four day weekend with nothing planned. And
I was like, you know what I have done in
a while my podcast, And like I said, I missed y'all.
(02:08):
I've been thinking about different ways of doing my podcast
because I don't want to ramble all the time about
just what's been going on in my life. But I mean,
that's just me. I'm very random, and I ramble and
I have plenty of stories to tell. But then let
(02:33):
me catch y'all up, because I don't remember last time
we talked, but I'm pretty sure the last time we talked,
I was at work having the time of my life,
all right, Like I had the most amazing job. I
would go to work tell people what to do, not
(02:57):
like Boston around like hey can you do this? Can
you do that? And then people are doing what they
need to do, and if they weren't, I was there
to fill in, and y'all, So okay, I was a supervisor.
And I was a supervisor of a group of kids
(03:18):
that basically get in. They got in where they fit in,
Like if I needed them to take pictures, they were
able to do that. They got trained on mad they
got trained on just many different things so that way
they could be able to help. And so whenever we
didn't have someone to take pictures of Sana and my
(03:41):
kids were helping out other places, I was taking pictures
of Santa or like if the photographer needed to go
to the restroom or whatever. So me and Santa would
have these nice talks. And I bet you're wondering, like
why are you taking pictures of Santa Muriel, Well, so
(04:02):
I work at this place where they celebrate Christmas, and
it's like it's big thing, right, and you know most
people can't have Christmas without Santah. So, like I said,
I was taking pictures of Santa having insightful conversations with Sannah.
(04:25):
And occasionally I would get on the stage and sing
White Christmas to a guest in the building. And it
was something random because people thought that I wouldn't do
it at first, and I was like, I'll do it.
What else do I have to do? What do I
(04:45):
have to lose? Really, and I have a lot to gain,
and people loved it, like it wasn't my job. I
was doing my job, and part of my job is
to get in where I fit then too and help
out and it needed a little bit more entertainment. So
(05:06):
there I was entertainment, entertaining a right and it just
taught me to be versatile, like I can be a
greeter one minute, a leader throughout it all right, taking pictures,
(05:30):
getting on stage, running around like a chicken with my
head cut off, like I was just doing a lot,
having the time of my life, doing the cup and
shuffling to keep it flix. And then Christmas was over
(05:50):
and it lasted until like January fifth, and so I
don't know, after taking everything and it's like it's no
longer Christmas? Now what all right? And I got into
a new position and it was more routine, not it's fun,
(06:15):
and that was so I could not stand it at first.
I was just like I'm so bored. But then I
got over being bored and I had to tap back
into that versatility and finding things to do to make
(06:37):
you know where I'm at better. And so that's what
I've been doing, trying to figure out what can I
do to make wherever I go better and just have fun,
to find different ways to have fun. Crack a yoga too,
(07:02):
because I am not a person that just likes to
be dull, and most of the time, it's never a
dull moment with me. I'm clumsy, I'm funny when I'm
not trying to be. I love to dance, sing, I
love music like it's just tapping into the best parts
(07:31):
of me and letting those things shine wherever I go.
It's just so helpful. And if you've been listening to
this podcast for a while, then you know that I
have come a long way, very long way, and this
(07:55):
is where I'm at now. I'm like, I know y'all
the true listeners, right, You've heard me talk about how
bad I thought life was and how I didn't know
what I wanted to do and this that and the
(08:15):
third and I still don't know what I want to
do with my life. But I just gotta have fun
with whatever I'm doing and that just makes it better
until whatever I want comes in my direction. Like I
don't know, y'all are aging comes with different perspectives. You know,
(08:44):
I've only been twenty seven for like five days, but
like I had to actually tell myself, it's time to
grow up. It's time to you know, make better decisions
and decisions that will shape a better future and with
(09:05):
that comes you know, different responsibilities and not just enjoying life,
because that's not what work is really about. Work is
supposed to be work. Like you actually have a job
(09:26):
to do and you're expected to do it having fun.
It's not your priority most of the time, it's not
in the job description. But if you happen to have
fun along the way, and that's just a bonus. I
(09:47):
have missed this podcast so much, so going forward with
this podcast, I want to have like topics, and I
want more people to join in the topics. Like if
(10:07):
you want to just talk about life and you have
a topic, we can do this on Skype or zoom.
Like I'm open to hear people tell their stories of
how they're at a different part of their life and
(10:29):
how they've reflected on the past and how far they've come,
Like I want to hear it. Like I'm pretty sure
the people that listen want to hear different things as well.
So yeah, we're doing bigger and better things. And like
(10:54):
I said, I just want to have topics to discuss
and stuff is just me RAMB. But this episode is
just a catching up. I've just missed talking and opening
up my life to whoever listens, and to whoever listens,
(11:18):
I'm glad that you're listening. I'm glad that you're here,
and I just want you to know that even though
times are hard and sometimes it feel like it feels
like life is hard and there's no way out, there
actually is a way out. You just have to find
(11:40):
it within yourself because it's it's like muscle memory. Your
body knows what to do, you just have to put
your mind to do it most of the time. So
(12:01):
when you make up your mind and decide that you
want to actually try, watch and see how life changes.
Watch and see how your perspective changes, how opportunities change.
It may not be what you want, but it's what
you need, right and you got to be able to
(12:22):
accept that and also accept things that you can't change
because you can't change other people. You can't change their actions,
you can't change the I mean, you can change your environment,
but you can't change the environment itself. Like you just
(12:45):
have to grow from it, learn from it, heal from it,
and just keep on moving. But that's all I have
for you all today. This episode might be really really short,
but that's okay. Just know that I'm going to be
(13:10):
back most importantly and better, and yeah, we're gonna turn
this this podcast into the podcast I've always dreamt of having.
And yeah, so until next time, love Piece and chicken Grease,
(13:31):
and don't go messing on nobody's day because it ain't
cute anymore. Babes, all right, babe
