Speaker 1 (00:00):
From the WMA Sports Desk. The Reds are back in
action tonight as they host the Twins, opening a three
game set in Cincinnati. We'll have the pregame at six forty.
Game time is seven to ten. Andrew Abbott goes for
the Reds against David Festa for Minnesota. The Reds went
four and two last week and two road series, one

(00:20):
in Cleveland and one in Detroit, that puts them two
games over five hundred on the season. The Reds are
now thirty seven and thirty five on the campaign. As
for the Guardians, they were also off yesterday. They continue
their West Coast swing tonight in San Francisco, the Tribe
coming off being swept in Seattle over the weekend that

(00:41):
dropped them back to five hundred At thirty five and
thirty five. Cleveland could face former Red Sox star Raphael
Devers after he was traded to the Giants on Sunday.
Despite losing two of three to the Reds at home
over the weekend, the Tigers still have the best record
in baseball at forty six and twenty seven. They are
also back action today as they begin a home series

(01:02):
with the lowly Pirates, who enter the game fifteen games
under five hundred. Speaking of the best record, the Lima

half game in front of the Michigan Monarchs atop the
North Division and with the best record in the league. Tonight,
the Locos begin a three game series with rival Hamilton.

These two basically have traded winning the Great Lakes League
title over the last six or seven years. The teams
will play at simmons Field tonight and tomorrow night, and
then in Hamilton on Thursday. History made it the College
World Series yesterday as Arkansas's Gauge Wood tossed the third
no hitter in tournament history in the first since nineteen
sixty and a three to nothing Arkansas win over Murray State.

(01:48):
Wood struck out nineteen batters, a College World Series record
for a nine inning game, and the only base runner
he allowed was because of a hit batter. Shawnees Logan
Maxwell drove in one of the three runs for the Razorbacks,
who avoided elimination. In the other game yesterday in Omaha,
LSU had a five to three lead on UCLA in

(02:09):
the fourth inning, when the game was suspended due to rain.
That game will be finished this morning. The action will
continue then with a pair of elimination games. Oregon State
takes on Loisville in the afternoon, and then it's Arkansas
in the evening against the winner of the suspended game
with LSU and UCLA. The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated Indiana

(02:30):
in ok C last night one twenty to one oh
nine to win Game five of the NBA Finals. The
Thunder now lead the series three games to two. Jalen
Williams led the way for Oklahoma City with forty points.
MVP Shay Gogos Alexander chipped in with thirty one points
and ten assists. After the game, OKASE coach Mark dagnauld

(02:51):
talked about the huge forty point performance from Jalen Williams.
Great force.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
I mean, that's the word, and we've used that word
with him in his development and when he's at his best,
he's playing with that type of force, and that was
an unbelievable performance by him just throughout the whole game.
I Mean, he really was on the gas the entire night,
applied a ton of pressure that he made a lot
of the right plays and we're gonna need a similar
type of approach in game six.

Speaker 1 (03:14):
From him, Indiana standout Tyrese Haliburton, who is apparently battling
some sort of calf problem, said, the series isn't over, you.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
Know, so our backs are against the wall. You know,
we we take pride in playing at home in front
of our fans, and our fans are amazing, So you know,
we know they're gonna come out with a ton of energy,
you know, in game six, you know, so we're gonna
have to be able to respond, be better and look
forward to you know, the challenge. You know, we got
to take this a day at a time. Our backs
against the wall. I mean, you gotta look at game

(03:45):
six like it's like it's a games having. You know,
losing is uh. You know, if you lose, your seasons over.
So you know, we got to go in and and
you know, take care of business. Just approach the game
the right way. See if we can get better in
film and you'll be ready to compete.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
Game six of the series will be third in Indianapolis.
Game seven, if necessary, would be back in Oklahoma City
Sunday night. The NHL season could end tonight in Game
six of the Stanley Cup Finals. Florida, looking to repeat
as champs, will host Edmonton and three coaches with area
ties will be part of the next class of the

(04:19):
Ohio High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Included
in the next class will be Jerry Harris, who coached
at Salina ANALYMA, senior Bob Olwyn who coached one of
his many stops at Ada, and also in the next
class will be Patrick Henry's Bill Enselman with eleven fifty
WYMA Sports. I'm Todd Walker.
