ABOUT THE GUEST:   Janai is a Pre-Nursing Student at Nevada State University with a Psychology minor. She is a dual-state licensed practical nurse for Illinois and Nevada, with almost twenty years of experience in diverse clinical settings such as community health clinics, skilled nursing facilities, private duty, and nursing agencies. As a proud graduate of the Chicago Public Schools Practical Nursing Program, Janai is currently pursuing her BSN, with aspirations of a graduate degree focusing on leadership and education. Janai is dedicated to improving generational nursing communication by encouraging nursing students to become involved in professional nursing organizations at the Pre-Nursing level. Leading by example, Janai serves as an active member of several organizations such as the Nevada Nurses Association (NNA), the Nevada Nurses Foundation (NNF)as an Advisory Board member, the National Student Nurses Association (NSNA), the Nevada Nursing Student Association (NVNSA) as the Southern Regional Director, and the Philippine Nurses Association of Nevada (PNANV). In her spare time, Janai is a mother of a teenager, devoted daughter, and an avid budding artist and has had her artwork on exhibit in a local art gallery.
